The aim of this study (N = 713) was to adapt the Appearance Schemas Inventory–Revised into Polish and evaluate its psychometric properties. The ASI-R is a widely used tool for measuring appearance schemas, but it is currently not available in Polish. The adaptation of the ASI-R has the potential to fill this gap and encourage research in the Polish community. The validation of the scale was conducted on two separate samples of healthy adults. Although the results indicate that the Polish version of the scale, in contrast to the original one, exhibits a one-factor structure, its psychometric properties are robust. The scale demonstrates high internal consistency and sound construct validity, established through correlations with various aspects of psychosocial functioning, along with body image and sociocultural attitudes toward appearance. The scale seems to be gender-invariant and can be utilized in future studies that adopt a cognitive-behavioral approach to appearance schemas.

The paper presents the authors’ method and test rig for performing the deformation analysis of unmanned aircraft fuselages. To conduct the analysis, the DIC system was used, as well as a test rig designed and constructed by the authors, equipped with a dedicated control and load control system. The article presents a description of the research capabilities of the test rig developed for testing the deformation of unmanned aircraft fuselages. Due to the specific operating conditions of the designed fuselage,the test rig developed allows the simulation of loads corresponding to different flight conditions. In addition, it is possible to change the forces acting on the fuselage simultaneously for all servos or each of them separately. Finally, results showing the displacement of component control points for the considered fuselage versions are presented. The tests carried out using the developed test rig allowed the verification of the maximum deformations. The two versions of the composite fuselage of an aerial vehicle have been compared in the paper. The created measurement system and performed analyzes have enabled us to identify and quantitatively analyze the weaknesses of the construction. The results have enabled us to geometrically modify the constructionso the mass of the fuselage reduced by 19% and a coefficient of construction balance increased by 22%.

The study of qualitative characteristics is becoming increasingly important due to determination of the purchase price and further use of seeds. An important problem of the modern sustainable agriculture is the production of seeds and products with appropriate quality parameters. The research carried out so far proves that the technology of harvesting, transport, and drying conditions as well as storage have an impact on the quality of seeds, determining their usefulness for the industry. The smallest irregularities can cause irreversible changes and significantly reduce the technological value of seeds and their processing products. The use of tools in the field of supporting electrical engineering enables detection and highlighting of image elements so that it becomes readable to the human eye. The aim of the research was to develop technology for evaluating grain in storage using electrotechnical tools and computer techniques.
Badanie cech jakościowych nabiera coraz większego znaczenia ze względu na ustalanie ceny skupu oraz ze względu na dalsze wykorzystanie nasion. Ważnym problemem współczesnego rolnictwa zrównoważonego jest produkcja nasion i produktów o odpowiednich parametrach jakościowych. Z dotychczasowych badań wynika, że technologia zbioru, warunki transportu i suszenia oraz przechowywania mają wpływ na jakość nasion, decydując o ich przydatności dla przemysłu. Najmniejsze nieprawidłowości mogą spowodować nieodwracalne zmiany i znacznie obniżyć wartość technologiczną nasion i produktów ich przetworzenia. Wykorzystanie narzędzi z zakresu wspomagania elektrotechniki pozwala na wykrywanie i podkreślanie elementów obrazu tak, aby stał się on czytelny dla ludzkiego oka. Celem badań było opracowanie technologii oceny ziarna w magazynie z wykorzystaniem narzędzi elektrotechnicznych i technik komputerowych.

The author presents her current research project dealing with the argumentation of written interactions that appeared in cyberspace. They focus on the activities of the artist, humorist, political activist Dieudonné M’Bala M’Bala in France and, in Poland, around the activities of the journalist, philo-semitic performer Rafal Betlejewski. The common point of these discourses is that they trigger argumentative mechanisms that are part of the anti-Semitic attitudes of the interacting subjects. It demonstrates how the methodologies of French-speaking linguists can be useful for the argumentative analysis of such a difficult textual corpus.

Opis:
Hydrocarbon contamination in the environment poses a significant challenge, and various control methods have been explored. Soil remediation by flotation has been proposed as an effective approach. This method involves the separation of hydrophobic compounds, such as soil hydrocarbons, by introducing air into a stirred reactor containing the soil pulp designated for remediation. Experiments were conducted using a 5 L Batch flotation cell to evaluate operating conditions. These experiments focused on obtaining flotation kinetics with different organic mixtures, including fine sands measuring under 150 μm. The experimental design encompassed airflow, hydrocarbon concentration, and surfactant dosage. The research utilized a diluted pulp (3% solids) with a high organic concentration (8 and 17 g/L). Flotation kinetics were measured by developing an innovative technique based on pulp color and image processing software. This technique facilitated the tracking of concentration changes over time under Beer-Lambert's Law. Subsequently, the results were adjusted using kinetic models commonly employed in mineral flotation, including the first-order, Kelsall, and Klimpel models. This comprehensive analysis sought to elucidate the underlying phenomenology and assess the potential for industrial-scale implementation. The laboratory findings indicate the possibility of achieving recoveries of up to 87%, with a first-order kinetic constant of 0.7 (1/min). Both the gas flow rate and the addition of surfactant exert substantial influence on this constant, consistent with the observed phenomenology of this study. This study explores the integration of image analysis in flotation for hydrocarbon-contaminated soil remediation. The research aims to optimize remediation strategies by examining variables such as Beer-Lambert's law and prevalent kinetic models. The study focuses on scalable, eco-friendly decontamination methods, emphasizing enhanced process control and comprehension within soil flotation systems.

This paper focuses on the development of a semi-automatic calculation tool to measure the Mean Linear Intercept (MLI) grain size of ceramics and other materials. The calculation tool was first verified and validated by using a certified micro-ruler and literature microstructures. It was then used to investigate the grain growth of UO2 pellets elaborated under different conditions. The tool offers the advantage of accuracy as well as the ability to quantify microstructures obtained with poor image quality. The estimated measurement errors were found to be less than 1 μm. The developed tool, mainly for the purpose of time-saving, allowed us to follow the microstructure (grain size) evolution of the elaborated UO2 fuel with different additives.

CEL NAUKOWY: Celem artykułu jest ukazanie stopnia nasycenia treściami związanymi z niepełnosprawnością oraz sposobów jej prezentacji w serialach, programach telewizyjnych i filmach najczęściej oglądanych przez dzieci i młodzież. PROBLEM I METODY BADAWCZE: Głównym problemem badawczym jest określenie, jak często podejmowana i jak prezentowana jest tematyka niepełnosprawności w analizowanych przekazach medialnych. Zastosowaną metodą była analiza zawartości treści. PROCES WYWODU: Analiza tematyki niepełnosprawności w przekazach medialnych obejmuje odniesienie się do pojęcia niepełnosprawności, wskazanie znaczenia mass mediów w postrzeganiu osób z niepełnosprawnością oraz wyniki badań. WYNIKI ANALIZY NAUKOWEJ: Tematyka niepełnosprawności pojawiała się w analizowanych przekazach sporadycznie. Dominującymi sposobami prezentacji niepełnosprawności jest przedstawienie jej jako źródła cierpień, niesamodzielności i zależności lub przeszkody pokonywanej przez ponadprzeciętne jednostki. WNIOSKI, INNOWACJE, REKOMENDACJE: Stereotypowy dyskurs medialny dotyczący osób z niepełnosprawnością może być obiektywną przyczyną ich marginalizacji. Istnieje potrzeba odpowiedniego oddziaływania edukacyjnego w celu budowania pozytywnego postrzegania tej kategorii osób, które może obejmować prezentację odpowiednich treści oraz edukację medialną w tym zakresie.
RESEARCH OBJECTIVE: The aim of the article is to show the degree of saturation with disability-related content and the ways of its presentation in series, television programs and films most often watched by children and adolescents. THE RESEARCH PROBLEM AND METHODS: The main research problem is to determine how often the target of disability is undertaken and how it is presented in the analysed media messages. The method used in research was the content analysis. THE PROCESS OF ARGUMENTATION: The analysis of the representation of disability in mass media includes a reference to the concept of disability, description of the importance of mass media in the perception of people with disabilities and research results. RESEARCH RESULTS: The issue of disability appeared sporadically in the analysed television broadcasts. The dominant ways of presenting disability are as follows: a source of suffering, dependency and dependence or an obstacle overcome by above-average individuals. CONCLUSIONS, INNOVATIONS AND RECOMMENDATIONS: Stereotypical media discourse about people with disabilities may be an objective reason for their marginalization. There is a need for appropriate educational impact in order to build a positive perception of this category of people, which may include the presentation of relevant content and media literacy in this area.

Der Artikel stellt phraseologische Verbindungen im heutigen Polnisch und Französisch vor. Das Material umfasst umgangssprachliche Phraseologismen und fest in der Sprache verankerte Phraseologismen. Die Analyse erweitert die sowohl von polnischen als auch von romanischen Schriftstellern durchgeführten Untersuchungen zum kulturellen Bild der Liebe um umgangssprachliches phraseologisches Material und ein vergleichendes Element, das es ermöglicht, gemeinsame Tendenzen in der Vervielfältigung der phraseologischen Ressourcen beider Sprachen aufzuzeigen. Die Originalität des Textes ergibt sich vor allem aus der Beschreibung von Phraseologismen, die in beiden Sprachen noch nicht beschrieben wurden – umgangssprachlich, aus dem Englischen entlehnt, vulgär, beleidigend. Das Forschungsziel des Artikels ist es, das kulturelle Bild der Liebe in beiden Sprachen zu rekonstruieren und gemeinsame Entwicklungstendenzen, Ähnlichkeiten und Unterschiede innerhalb beider Ressourcen aufzuzeigen. Das Ziel ist erreicht, die Forschung kann fortgesetzt und erweitert werden durch die Analyse von phraseologischen Verbindungen, die phraseologischen Innovationen unterworfen sind. Um das kulturelle Bild der Liebe zu rekonstruieren, habe ich eine semantische und lexikalische Analyse der Lexeme vorgenommen, die in vielen phraseologischen Verbindungen im Zusammenhang mit der Liebe vorkommen (z. B. Herz), sowie der Phraseologismen selbst. Die Ergebnisse der Untersuchung zeigen eine gemeinsame Tendenz in der Art und Weise, wie die phraseologische Ressource in beiden Sprachen vervielfältigt wird – Entlehnungen aus dem Englischen, die teilweise mit der Orthografie der Regeln der Zielsprache übereinstimmen können. Beiden Sprachen gemeinsam ist die Verwendung der Herz- und Augensymbolik in vielen phraseologischen Verbindungen. Im Französischen gibt es mehr phraseologische Verbindungen mit Tiernamen als im Polnischen. Es lassen sich mehrere Phraseologismen unterscheiden, die in beiden Sprachen ihre genaue Entsprechung haben.
The article presents phraseological compounds in contemporary Polish and French. The material in- cludes colloquial phraseologisms and phraseologisms established in the language. The analysis extends the research – conducted by both Polish and Romance experts – on the cultural image of love by adding colloquial phraseological material and a comparative element, which made it possible to show common tendencies in the multiplication of the phraseological resources of both languages. The originality of the text results primarily from the description of phraseologisms not yet described in both languages – colloquial, borrowed from English, vulgar, offensive. The research goal of the article is to reconstruct the cultural image of love in both languages and to indicate common developmental tendencies, similarities and differences within both resources. The goal has been achieved, the research can be continued and extended by the analysis of phraseological compounds subjected to phraseological innovations. In order to reconstruct the cultural image of love I made a semantic and lexical analysis of lexemes that appear in many phraseological compounds related to love (e.g. heart) and the phraseologisms themselves. The results of the research indicate a common tendency in the way the phraseological resource is multiplied in both languages – borrowings from English, which can partly match the orthography of the target language’s rules. Common to both languages is the use of heart and eye symbolism in many phraseological compounds. French has more phraseological compounds containing animal names than Polish. Several phraseologisms can be distinguished, which have their exact equivalents in both languages.

Opis:
Soil salinization and their annual increase in volume is not only one of the main problems of arid and subarid regions, but it is becoming global. Studying the problem of salinization and its spatial distribution using operational remote sensing methods is very important for Kazakhstan, where almost half of the agricultural land is exposed to salinization, but it is at the initial stage of development in the use of space technologies of research. The main goal of this study is to conduct a field study of soil salinity in corn fields, one of the most common crops in the arid region of the country, located in the Shaulder irrigated massif, using space-based methods, and to create algorithms for compiling a salinity map based on remote sensing data. For this purpose, firstly, using Sentinel-2 images, the method of separating corn from other dominant crops in the region by creating NDVI dynamics covering all phases of growth of agricultural crops was shown. Then, a regression analysis was performed on soil and vegetation indices calculated using satellite images and data on soil salinity obtained through field studies. As a result of the analysis, the main predictor of deciphering salinized soils was determined. By dividing the predictive image into quartiles, contours of salinized soils were determined and a soil salinity map was created. With the help of the soil salinity map, it was found that, non-saline soils – 2912.2 ha; slightly saline soils – 3288.4 ha, moderately saline soils – 2615.2 ha, and strongly saline soils – 1284.3 ha in the study area.

The research focuses on psycholinguistic analysis of a female cinematic archetype. The characters’ narratives are predominantly defined by the heroines’ archetype and personality; to a lesser extent by the context of the cinematic story. The study is based on Jung’s idea of the archetype as a repetitive image of the collective unconscious, common for different cultures, languages, and societies. Each archetype performs a certain function in the plot, predetermined by a number of constant motivations, defining the characters’ (verbal) behavior. Post-Jungian researchers have developed various typologies of psychological archetypes. Among the proposed repetitive images, one of the most recognized is the Great Mother / Caregiver / Nurturer, which is distinguished by care, protectiveness, devotion, and sacrifice. Maslow’s hierarchy of human needs serves as the basis for delineation of archetypes. Despite numerous changes in the representation of female characters in mass culture cinema, the Nurturer archetype (term by Schmidt, 2007; Cowden, LaFever, & Viders, 2013) stays essential and frequently exploited. This study focuses on the verbal representation of the Nurturer archetype in three top box office cinematic stories recreating the Beauty and the Beast motif, namely Beauty and the Beast (2017), The Twilight Saga (2008-2012), and Fifty Shades trilogy (2015-2018). The paper focuses respectively on the turns of Belle, Bella Swan, and Anastasia Steele, leading female protagonists representing the Nurturer archetype in the examined franchises. The founding idea of the present paper postulates that the verbal representation of the same archetype bears similar narratives, which mediate the heroines’ needs and motivations. The aim of the research is to establish the set of narratives, characteristic of the Nurturer archetype in contemporary cinematic stories. The Nurturer archetype is an altruistic, parental character, distinguished by protectiveness, compassion, and generosity. The Nurturer needs to care for the loved ones, which defines her narratives about providing food, comfort, safety, protection and reassurance, dependence, stability, love, and affection. The ‘virgin-beast trope’ predetermines the heroine’s narrative of a romantic relationship.

In the article, a comprehensive comparative analysis of the satirical prose of W. Thackeray and I. Franko, focusing on socio-political themes, is carried out for the first time in Ukrainian literary studies, significantly expanding our understanding of the interaction between the works of these artists. The authors systematize theoretical concepts about satire as a literary genre and concentrate on the phenomenon of sociopolitical satire. The research identifies and explores objects of satirical representation in the works of the Ukrainian and British writers. In his works, William Makepeace Thackeray subjected contemporary society to scathing criticism, following the path of truth and nature, employing irony and grotesque to expose various moral and ethical flaws of its representatives, such as feudal privileges of the nobility, subservience to titles, hypocrisy, vanity, and decadence. According to A.M. Khalimonchuk’s calculations, Ivan Franko’s satirical legacy comprises over 30 satirical short stories and sketches, six satirical poems, three comedies, and several dozens of satirical poems. In addition to translating the works of prominent satirists from around the world into Ukrainian, Ivan Franko’s archive contains numerous unfinished satirical works from various periods of his literary career. Ivan Franko’s literary contributions played an equally significant role in the development of Ukrainian national satire as William Thackeray’s works did for British and European satire as a whole. In the article the poetic modes used to create satirical phenomena in Thackeray’s and Franko’s prose are analysed. The hypothesis regarding the possibility of indirect contact-genetic relationships between the works of these authors is put forward.

This paper presents a method for automatically measuring plants’ heights in indoor hydroponic plantations using the OpenCV library and the Python programming language. Using the elaborated algorithm and Raspberry Pi-driven system with an external camera, the growth process of multiple pak choi cabbages (Brassica rapa L. subsp. Chinensis) was observed. The main aim and novelty of the presented research is the elaborated algorithm, which allows for observing the plants’ height in hydroponic stations, where reflective foil is used. Based on the pictures of the hydroponic plantation, the bases of the plants, their reflections, and plants themselves were separated. Finally, the algorithm was used for estimating the plants’ heights. The achieved results were then compared to the results obtained manually. With the help of a ML (Machine Learning) approach, the algorithm will be used in future research to optimize the plants’ growth in indoor hydroponic plantations.

The paper presents the results of research aimed at comparing two stringer joining technologies of stiffened panels. Experimental tests were carried out on the basis of uniaxial compression of thin-walled panels stiffened with two parallel stringers. The panels consist of a skin plate and stringers joined with two techniques: riveting and refill friction stir spot welding (RFSSW). The aim of the investigations was to determine the amount of the critical load, the character of the structure's work in the range of post-buckling behaviour and the mode of panel destruction. For deformation measurements, an optical scanner Aramis based on the digital image correlation (DIC) technique was used. The research conducted enabled the assessment of the effectiveness of the RFSSW technology of joining the semi-monocoque structures, taking into account the range of post-critical deformations caused both to the local and global loss of stability. The compression tests have shown that the plate with welded stringers with a spacing of 29.5 mm exhibits the ultimate load similar to the variant of the riveted panel. It was also observed that the nature and number of buckling half-waves depend on the applied load and spacing between connectors.

Opis:
This study is focused on the image analysis of motionless hydraulic mixing process, for which pressure changes were the driving force. To improve the understanding of hydraulic mixing, mixing efficiency was assessed with dye introduction, which resulted in certain challenges. In order to overcome them, the framework and methodology consisting of three main steps were proposed and applied to an experimental case study. The experiments were recorded using a camera and then processed according to the proposed framework and methodology. The main outputs from the methodology which were based only on the recorded movie were liquid heights and colour changes during the process time. In addition, considerable attention has also been given to issues related to other colour systems and the hydrodynamic description of the process.

W styczniu 2019 roku miał miejsce pożar w jednym z escape roomów w Koszalinie. Tragiczne w skutkach wydarzenie wywołało kryzys wizerunkowy całej branży. Niniejszy artykuł stanowi analizę tego kryzysu, jego przebiegu, stron konfliktu i zrealizowanych działań. Wyniki badania słów kluczowych publikacji prasowych pozwoliły wykazać, że nastąpiło znaczące pogorszenie wizerunku i zmiana kontekstu opisywania branży w mediach. Pokoje zagadek – wcześniej utożsamiane ze znakomitą zabawą – nagle stały się symbolami śmierci, zagrożenia oraz stawiania zysku ponad bezpieczeństwo. Faza odbudowywania wizerunku trwa. W ślad za nią powinna iść też faza wyciągania wniosków na przyszłość – wśród właścicieli i pracowników zarówno escape roomów, jak i innych rozwijających się acz porównywalnie rozdrobnionych sektorów
In January 2019, a fire broke out in one of the escape rooms in Koszalin, Poland. That tragic event caused an image crisis for the entire industry. This article is an analysis of the crisis, its course, the parties involved in the conflict and the actions they implemented. The results of the keyword research of press publications show that there has been a significant deterioration in the image of the industry and the way it was presented in the media. Escape rooms – previously equated with great fun – suddenly became symbols of death, danger and putting profit above safety. The image rebuilding phase continues. It should also be followed by the phase of drawing conclusions for the future – both among escape rooms and other developing but comparatively fragmented sectors.
