    Wiele osób słyszało o działaniach Służby Bezpieczeństwa w polskich hotelach, ale jak wyglądało to w Szczecinie?. Autor poszukując odpowiedzi na to pytanie prześledził działania operacyjne prowadzone w hotelach „Arkona”, „Continental”, „Neptun” i „Reda” podległych przedsiębiorstwu „Orbis” oraz hotelach miejskich „Gryf” i „Piast” prowadzonych przez Wojewódzkie Przedsiębiorstwo Usług Turystycznych „Pomerania”. Celem artykułu jest próba przybliżenia zasad pracy sekcji hotelowej szczecińskiej SB oraz „wgłębienie” się tematykę hotelową okresu PRL na terenie Szczecina. W oparciu o zgromadzony materiał źródłowy oraz informacje udzielone przez byłych pracowników sekcji hotelowej autor próbuje odpowiedzieć na pytania o zakres zadań realizowanych przez SB. Wskazać na metody działań funkcjonariuszy, skalę inwigilacji środowiska oraz wpływ SB na funkcjonowanie hoteli. Istotnym elementem jest także materialny dowód istnienia i funkcjonowania jednostki, czyli dokumentacja wytworzona w minionym okresie, którą dziś możemy określić już mianem archiwalnej.
    Many people have heard of the Security Service activity in the Polish hotels. How did it look like in Szczecin? In search for answer to this question the author investigated the operational activity conducted in the hotels “Arkona”, “Continental”, “Neptun”, and “Reda”, managed by the company “Orbis”, and the municipal hotels “Gryf” and “Piast” run by the Voivodship Enterprise of Tourism Services “Pomerania”. The purpose of this article is an attempt to explain the principles of functioning of the Szczecin Security Service hotel section and to “delve” into the subject matter of hotels operating at the time of Polish People’s Republic in Szczecin. Based on the collected source material and the information provided by the former staff of the hotel section of the Security Service the author seeks to answer the questions concerning the scope of the tasks performed by the Security Service and to explore the methods used by the officers, the scale of invigilation of the society, and influence of the Security Service on the operation of hotels. A significant element is also material proof of the unit’s existence and operation, i.e. the documents produced in the time past, which today can be referred to as archival.

    Opis:
    The article deals with the description of activity of the Association of Fighting Youth (ZWM) in three aspects. Firstly, on the basis of reports sent in from the region and profiles of individual district chairmen of the association, it seeks to portray youth activists and examine references concerning criminal activity of the ZWM members which can be found in the literature on the subject. It turns out that the association members often perpetrated malpractices which affected the subsequent organisational activity. In some areas, negative opinions about youth activists remained even in the 50s of the 20th century. All phenomena related to the so-called “immoral conduct of members” also impinged on the nature of activities undertaken which to a large extent can be considered superficial. The second issue described in the article is the ZWM involvement in campaigns before the June referendum and in the elections of January 1947. The author examined the activity of district structures in this field, and submitted the findings of literature on the subject to his critical review. An important activity in this area was the participation of the ZWM members in the dissolution of the “Wici” Rural Youth Association supporting the Polish People’s Party. The article shows that the members of the Association of Fighting Youth actively supported the so-called Wici Democratisation Committee, using methods having little to do with democracy. The last issue discussed is the cooperation of ZWM with other organisations, such as the Polish Workers’ Party (PPR), Voluntary Citizens’ Militia Reserve (ORMO) and Youth Organisation of the Workers’ University Society (OMTUR). The article describes the financial and organisational dependence of ZWM structures on PPR, the participation of youth in the ORMO formations, and relations with the “fraternal” OMTUR organisation. The author mentions the fact that, despite the wishes expressed, the cooperation between PPR and its youth organisation was far from unequivocal sympathy. ZWM was an aggressive structure towards other youth organisations. It was focused on the dissolution of their structures and the “union” of Polish youth.

    Historia powstawania Uniwersytetu Szczecińskiego w latach 80. XX w. nierozerwalnie związana jest z ówczesną sytuacją polityczną i ostrym konfliktem mającym miejsce w całym państwie, ale występującym też na Pomorzu Zachodnim i w Szczecinie. Okres powstawania znacząco wpłynął więc na ostateczny kształt szczecińskiej uczelni w 1985 r., która z powodu mocnego uzależnienia jej władz od struktur partyjnych oraz deklarowanej przez nie ideologicznej bliskości z PZPR nazywana była „czerwonym uniwersytetem”. Obraz ten nie był odzwierciedlany w oficjalnych massmediach, za to mocno zakotwiczył na łamach pism drugoobiegowych, wydawanych poza cenzurą przez ówczesną opozycję. Walor niezależności, powodował, że autorzy piszący do wydawnictw bezdebitowych mogli prezentować nieoficjalną twarz powstającej uczelni, swobodnie poddawać krytyce działania władz, które uznawali za szkodliwe dla idei uniwersytetu w Szczecinie. Mimo toczącej się wówczas bezpardonowej walki politycznej, na ogół nie kontestowano potrzeby powstania uczelni, natomiast sposób jej tworzenia przez władze był mocno deprecjonowany. Poddanie tego obrazu weryfikacji może pozwolić na pełniejsze ukazanie kulisów powstawania i początków Uniwersytetu Szczecińskiego.
    The history of the University of Szczecin’s foundation in the 1980s is inextricably linked to the political situation of the time and the acute conflict taking place nationwide, but also present in West Pomerania and Szczecin. Thus, the period of its foundation significantly influenced its final form in 1985, which, due to the heavy dependence of its governing body on party structures and its declared ideological closeness to the Polish United Workers’ Party (PZPN), was called a “red university”. This image was not reflected in official mass media, but firmly anchored in the pages of underground magazines published uncensored by the dissident opposition of the time. The value of independence meant that authors writing for underground publications were able to portray the unofficial face of the emerging university, freely criticizing the actions of the authorities, which they considered detrimental to the idea of a university in Szczecin. Despite the ruthless political struggle at the time, the need for its establishment was generally not contested, while the manner in which it was created by the authorities was greatly disparaged. By subjecting this image to scrutiny, it may be possible to give a fuller picture of the backdrop to the foundation and beginnings of the University of Szczecin.

    Tematem artykułu jest powieść Marii Krüger (1904-1999) Godzina pąsowej róży (1960 r.) jako przyklad utworu epickiego z fabułą opartą na motywie podróży w czasie oraz jej adaptacja – film Haliny Bielińskiej Godzina pąsowej róży (1963 r.). Omówiono walory rozrywkowe książki i filmu. Zwrócono uwagę na ich wartości edukacyjne - kształcące i wychowawcze. Skupiono się też stronie estetycznej dzieła Bielińskiej. Uwzględniono zagadnienie recepcji medialnej i literaturoznawczej pierwowzoru literackiego, a także recepcji medialnej filmu. Podjęto kwestię odbioru powieści i jej adaptacji wśród czytelników oraz widzów.
    The subject of the article is the novel by Maria Krüger (1904-1999) Godzina pąsowej róży (1960) as an example of an epic work with a plot based on the theme of time travel and its adaptation - Halina Bielińska's film Godzina pąsowej róży (1963). The entertainment values of the book and the film were discussed. Attention was paid to their educational values - educating and upbringing. The aesthetic side of Bielińska's work was also focused on. The issue of the media and literary research reception of the literary prototype as well as the media reception of the film was taken into account. The issue of the novel's reception and its adaptation among readers and viewers was raised.
