Opis:
Introduction. According to data, the most common causes of death in Poland are cardiovascular diseases. Technology development has a significant impact on cardiovascular morbidity. It is clear however, that mortality in cardiovascular diseases largely results from diseases related to atherosclerosis mainly due to ischemic heart disease, which is the cause of many premature deaths that occurred before the age of 65. The risk factors for ischemic heart disease include: the risk factor associated with lifestyle (high-calorie diet rich in saturated fats and cholesterol, smoking, excessive use of alcohol, low physical activity). Aim. The purpose of the study was to evaluate healthy lifestyle and health status before and after treatment in patients of Cardiology and Intensive Care Unit. Material and methods. The study was conducted in the Specialized Provincial Hospital in Ciechanów. The study group consisted of 70 patients staying in the Cardiology Ward and Intensive Care Unit. The study was conducted with the use of the diagnostic survey method. As a research tool, our own survey questionnaire was used. Results. The study has shown that before the illness, approximately 57% of the patients led healthy lifestyle. Currently, the percentage of people admitting to right behavior has risen to 87%. At the same time, the number of people who suffer from unhealthy lifestyles has dropped significantly. Prior to the disease, every third of the respondents controlled their health. Currently, almost all patients are doing this - 93%. The number of patients who currently do not control their health compared to the period before the onset of illness was clearly down. Currently, only 7% of patients do not do that. Conclusions. Keeping a healthy lifestyle and health check improved after the onset of the disease. The collected research material is the basis for confirming the hypothesis that patients in the majority after the onset of the disease change their lifestyle to a more healthy one.
Cel. Celem badań była ocena prowadzenia zdrowego stylu życia oraz kontroli stanu zdrowia przed i po zachorowaniu u pacjentów Oddziału Kardiologii i Pododdziału Intensywnej Opieki Kardiologicznej. Materiał i metody. Badania przeprowadzono w Specjalistycznym Szpitalu Wojewódzkim w Ciechanowie. Grupę badaną stanowiło 70 pacjentów przebywających w Oddziale Kardiologii i Pododdziale Intensywnej Opieki Kardiologicznej. Badania przeprowadzono metodą sondażu diagnostycznego. Jako narzędzie badawcze wykorzystano kwestionariusz ankiety własnej konstrukcji. Wyniki. Obecnie robią to prawie wszyscy pacjenci – 93%.

Purpose: This study was carried out to evaluate the effect of health education on adolescents' healthy lifestyle and health perceptions given an adolescent group. Materials and methods: The study's universe constitutes a total of 234 students attending the 9th grade of a high school. The study was constructed according to the single-group pre-test, quasi-experimental research model, in the 9th class in a high school. Data collection form, Adolescent lifestyle scale(ALS) and health perception scale were applied to the adolescents as a pre-test during the first phase of the study. The adolescents who were below the median score of ALS were accepted as the risk group and taken to the experimental group. Adolescents in the experimental group received a 6-week "Health Promotion Program" and a final test was given to the adolescents at the end of the training sessions. Descriptive statistics, Paired-t-test, independent-, and correlation were used in the evaluation of the data. Results: ALS total score was 94.52±9.53 before adolescents' health promotion education and 104.05±15.4 after education. The relationship between them was statistically significant(p<0.05). It was determined that the health perception of adolescents included in the study decreased after post-training total scores compared to the pre-training scores and that this relationship was statistically significant(p<0.05). Conclusion: Public health nurses may be recommended to develop healthy lifestyle behaviours by raising healthy adolescents by providing more adolescent education through school health services.

The whole family should always be involved so that the child does not suffer, it is not our intention to psychically distract the child. it should also take into account age, sex. a mildly reducing diet if overweight or obesity is always a risk! in the case of a very young child, such as breast-fed infants, it is important for these measures to be followed by a nursing mother. Opis:
The fashion for leading a healthy lifestyle has recently reached Polish society. Inspired by exposure through the mass media, many people have decided to introduce changes into the way they eat and exercise, primarily in order to become healthier and slimmer. According to recent surveys, one of the most popular sources of information concerning healthy lifestyles is, of course, the Internet. It is an extremely functional tool that allows its users not only the possibility to find the relevant information they need, but it also helps them create their own resources containing advice and information for other like-minded users. This article analyzes examples of Polish vlogs posted on the Youtube.pl platform that are principally devoted to improving fitness, as well as showing the most effective ways to lose weight. The four main areas of focus investigated are: the vloggers’ motivations for creating and publishing videos, the vloggers’ reference to their own bodies, the reasons they offer for seeking a healthier way of living, the vloggers’ bodies as their representation in the social space of the Internet, and the role of the Internet community in the many processes in helping people become slimmer.

Tracking motion activities through pedometer applications is one of the methods often mentioned for getting information about motion programs and for promoting a healthy lifestyle among adolescents. Similar problems are also addressed in the region of Northwestern Bohemia which is affected by certain structural characteristics. Aim of Study: This study strives to establish indicators of participation in physical activities among students in the second level of primary school (junior high school) and to evaluate them based on recommended criteria as well as from the point of view of the conclusions reached by other studies. Material and Methods: Physical activity was monitored concurrently and objectively by the Yamax SW-700 pedometer for seven consecutive days. Pedometers have proven themselves in a number of studies and are particularly suitable for assessing locomotive movement activities. Identification and recording sheets were used for the registration of the 358 boys and 330 girls from the second level of primary school (junior high school) in the Ústí nad Labem region who went through our survey. Pedometers were used during a period of favorable weather conditions and in the course of normal school attendance. Results: Groups of boys report different values throughout the second level of primary school (junior high school), where the average values of steps during weekdays is higher than 10,000 steps (Mmin=10,111; Mmax=10,961), which is the recommended number of steps, while the weekends record a decrease of values of steps to a number which is less than average (Mmin=8,547; Mmax=9,761). In regard to the results of the girls, the number of daily steps is lower than in the boys' groups (Mmin=9,247; Mmax=10,598). Girls results show the lowest values of steps during the weekend. Conclusion: Boys achieve higher daily values than girls in all tracked pointers. The values of steps that are typical for weekdays are significantly higher than those typical for weekend days. The lowest levels are the median values characterizing the steps taken during the weekend days for boys and girls.

Introduction and objective. Weekly physical activity (PA) in adolescents is significantly correlated with the educational programme and school environment, where the basis of healthy work habits and a healthy lifestyle is laid. The aim of the study was to identify the differences in the trend and the structure of the weekly step count in adolescent boys and girls in the context of the Polish school environment. Materials and method. A total of 930 boys and 1,354 girls aged 15–19 years from 64 secondary schools in the Katowice region participated. The research was conducted between 2011–2018. For the objective monitoring of weekly PA, Yamax Digiwalker SW-700 pedometers were used. Results. Between 2011–2014 and 2015–2018, no significant differences were observed in step counts on an average week day, school day, or weekend day. This means that the level of PA, expressed as daily step count, did not decrease between the two 4-year periods. On average, boys performed 10,799 steps/day, while girls performed 10,130 steps/day. The recommendation of 11,000 steps/day was achieved by 42.2% of boys and 35.3% of girls. A significant decrease by 8.6 percentage points in the achievement of 11,000 steps/day between the two 4-year periods was observed only in boys. Conclusions. It is positive that in the 8-year monitoring of PA, there was no significant decrease in the average steps/day for Polish boys and girls. However, most boys and girls did not meet the 11,000 steps/day recommendation. Both boys and girls were most physically active on Friday and least physically active on Sunday.

Introduction. The current problem of physical inactivity in population is analysed by professionals in various age categories. One of the groups, not that often observed, are university s tudents, who should be able to present their attitude to regular physical activity as well as its contribution to healthy lifestyle. The aim of the research was to find out the structure of physical activities in university students in various study progra mmes (teacher programmes, sport programmes) and also to determine their attitude to physical activity and the reasons for (not) including physical activity in daily regimen. Methods . The research group involved students of the Faculty of Physical Education and Sport, Comenius University (n=53, 26 men and 27 women), Faculty of Education, University of Trnava (n=53, only women) a University of P. J. Šafárik in Košice (n=45, 30 men, 15 women). The data were collected by questionnaire with open, semi - open and c losed questions. The data were analysed by MS Excel and non - parametric Chi - square test. Results. The students with sports profile presented more positive attitude to physical activity than the other students of other study profile. On the other, hand stude nts of the teacher study profile were least satisfied with the offer of physical activities at their faculty and they would like to perform more activities in their leisure time if they had better conditions. The reasons for not performing physical activit y were also various. Students with teacher profile chose not enough time (52%), however, students with sports profile chose their health condition as the priority (37%). The reasons for including physical activity in daily regimen were in the group of teac her students supporting health and body forming, the other groups of students preferred fun and challenge. The time spent with sedentary activities was not different regarding the study profile but regarding sex. The results showed a clear difference betwe en men and women, where the most men chose 1 - 2 hours of sedentary activities every day, whereas women suggested 3 - 4 hours of sedentary activities. Conclusion. Our research data confirm the importance of analysing the reasons for performing or not performin g physical activities by university students, which could help to create an optimal model of a physical programme for various study profiles. The results suggest that the students of teacher programmes will prefer health - oriented activities with emphasizing body forming, whereas students of sports programmes will prefer activities focused on performance, challenge and experience.

Background. Nowadays the importance of lifestyles in the prevention of type 2 diabetes and the metabolic syndrome has been largely accertained. Objective. The purpose of our work is to implement programs that promote a nutritional culture in adolescents and young adults of the La Sabana University. Methods. The methodology entailed, after the corresponding informed consent, taking measures of the triceps and supraescapular skinfolds, waist circumference, body mass index (BMI), lean mass, and fat mass. Fasting blood samples were also taken to quantify cholesterol, triglycerides, high density lipoprotein (HDL) and low density lipoprotein (LDL). Results. The results obtained show that of the 165 students, 10.3% were underweight, 13.93% were overweight and 0.6% were obese. With regards to gender, 4.8% of the men and 9% of the women were overweight, 3% of the men and 7.2% of the women were underweight, and 0.6% of the women were obese. The blood chemistry showed that 30% had hypercholesterolemia, 18% hypertriglyceridemia, 17% reported low HDL levels and 67% reported high LDL levels. Of all the cases studied, 40% are at risk of a metabolic syndrome. 60% claimed not to practice any physical activity - especially women who reported 44.70%. Conclusions. These findings have allowed us at the institution to implement a culture of healthy habits. The have also allowed us to identify students with risk factors for type 2 diabetes and metabolic syndrome. This is why the cardio- metabolic monitoring and control based on healthy eating and physical activity are important.

Descriptive statistical analyses, Mann Whitney U test, Kruskall Wallis H test and Spearman Correlation Analysis were used to analyze the data. Results. The mean age of the participants was 55.7±5.6 years (min: 40, max: 69), the highest scores in the Healthy Lifestyle Behaviors Scale-II were found in the sub-dimensions of “spiritual development” (23.4±3.2) and “interpersonal relations” (23.1±3.3). In the Menopause Symptoms Evaluation Scale total and sub-dimension scores, it was determined that the “somatic complaints” (10.4±2.6) and “psychological complaints” subdimensions (10.7±3.1) had the highest scores. Conclusions. A statistically significant positive correlation was found between the participants’ Fear of Covid-19 Scale scores and Menopause Symptoms Evaluation Scale total and sub-dimension scores. There was a statistically significant positive correlation between the Menopause Symptoms Evaluation Scale and the Healthy Lifestyle Behaviors Scale-II and certain sub-dimensions.
Wprowadzenie. Materiał i metody. Wyniki. Średni wiek uczestniczek wynosił 55,7±5,6 lat (min.: 40, maks.: 69), najwyższe wyniki w Skali Zachowań Związanych ze Zdrowym Stylem Życia stwierdzono w wymiarze cząstkowym „rozwój duchowy” (23,4±3,2) i „relacje interpersonalne” (23,1±3,3). W punktacji Skali Oceny Objawów Menopauzy ogółem i w wymiarach cząstkowych określono, że najwyższe wyniki uzyskały wymiary cząstkowe „dolegliwości somatyczne” (10,4±2,6) i „dolegliwości psychologiczne” (10,7±3,1). Wnioski. Stwierdzono istotną statystycznie dodatnią korelację między wynikami uczestniczek w Skali Lęku przed Covid-19 a wynikami Skali Oceny Objawów Menopauzy w wymiarze całkowitym i cząstkowym. Stwierdzono istotną statystycznie dodatnią korelację między Skalą Oceny Objawów Menopauzy a Skalą Zachowań Związanych ze Zdrowym Stylem Życia i niektórymi wymiarami cząstkowymi.

Opis:
The quality of life, meaning the degree of human’s satisfaction derived from the whole of the existence, involves both – the private and professional spheres of life. One of the most important determinants of the quality of life is health, which in more than 50% depends on the person’s lifestyle. Due to the fact that lifestyle is a result of individual actions undertaken by the individual and its home and work environment, it is assumed that one of the employer’s tasks is shaping pro-health behaviors. Promoting healthy lifestyles is particularly important for young people who are just entering adulthood. Those people, also known as Millennials, go to school and work simultaneously. As a consequence, young people’s health awareness is not only parents, teachers or school nurses’ matter to teach anymore, but also employers’ from whom young people gain first work experiences. It needs to be indicated that empirical studies prove that representatives of the Millennium generation are characterized by unhygienic lifestyles and the need for services that shape a healthy lifestyle. The purpose of this paper is to identify the expectations of youngsters (representatives of Millennium generations) regarding the role of employers in shaping a healthy lifestyle. The article consists of theoretical and empirical sections. Theoretical parts were based on literature, which include publications devoted to a healthy lifestyle, health promotion in the workplace, and the characteristics of Millennial generations. The empirical part of the paper contains the results of the author’s our own research conducted in 2017 among representatives of the Millennium generations. The results show that young people do not manifest healthy behaviors. At the same time, they expect from their employers to promote healthy lifestyle.
