Opis:
Unsustainable utilization of water assets conveys challenges these days identified with the generation periods of water devouring products, for example, pulp & paper. This industry is portrayed by noteworthy water utilization at every procedure venture of creation. This study concentrates on the water footprint appraisal of paper and pulp generation at a medium measured paper and pulp industry in Uttar Pradesh, India. Here, the evaluation depended on the creation chain outline. A framework limit was proposed to evaluate the water footprint at different procedure stages from the source to the last item and additionally the natural contacts with extraordinary spotlight on maintainability. Through this study water footprint accounting has been done and the outcomes were utilized to break down the supportability as far as, Blue water footprint, Grey water footprint and Green water impression for Kraft & White paper. Also, recommendations for reasonable practices have been touched upon.

Celem rozważań jest przedstawienie studium przypadku berlińskiego Bloku 6 położonego w dzielnicy Kreuzberg, który ukazuje 30-letnią tradycję zrównoważonej gospodarki wodnej. Zaprojektowany w 1987 roku w ramach Międzynarodowej Wystawy Budownictwa, Blok 6 stał się przykładem ekologicznych rozwiązań technologicznych dla budownictwa mieszkaniowego. Niniejszy artykuł opartona autorskich badaniach terenowych prowadzonych w 2014 roku w ramach projektu „Zmień szare na zielone” oraz w 2015 roku w ramach grantu badawczego NCBR „Biostrateg” ID 270606, a także na podstawie analizy wykładu i materiałów źródłowych autorstwa Dipl.-Ing. Erwina Nolde. Wnioski dotyczące prezentowanych rozwiązań pokazują, gdzie należy upatrywać zagrożeń i na jakie uwarunkowania należy zwrócić szczególną uwagę, aby taki projekt mógł odnieść sukces. Technologie sprawdzone w Bloku 6 mogą być powszechnie wykorzystywane, bowiem współtworzą przyjazne i zrownoważone środowiska życia mieszkańców.
An aim of considerations is to present the case study of the Berlin Block 6 located in the Kreuzberg District, which shows the 30-year tradition of sustainable water management. Originally developed in 1987 as a project of the International Building Exhibition, the Block 6 has become an example of ecological technological concepts for house-building. The article is based on the authoring field studies carried out in 2014 within the framework of the project named “Change grey into green” and in 2015 within the framework of the research grant of NCBR “Biostrateg” ID 270606, as well as based on an analysis of the lecture and sources materials whose author is Dipl.-Ing. Erwin Nolde. The conclusions concerning the presented solutions show where one should track threats and what determinants should be specifically considered that such a project might be a success. The technologies proven in Block 6 may be commonly exploited as they contribute to the creation of friendly and sustainable environments of live of dwellers.

In the paper the main characteristics of filtration process of grey water (obtained from the laundry) on polypropylene filter of various size of pores (5 ۰m and 20 ۰m) has been presented. In was found well applicability of Ruth’s equation for filtration process of grey water in constant pressure. It means that in presented studies process is due to the first stage of formation of so called wet filtration cake. Parameters of Ruth’s equation were determined. On their flow resistance involved in the filtration process: resistant of the filter medium Rf = 1.94 ۰ 1011 m–1 (filter FCPS 5) and Rf = 1.89 ۰ 1011 m–1 (filter FCPS 20) and the average specific cake resistance ۰0 for FCPS 5 = 4.84 ۰ 1012 m–2 and ۰0 for FCPS 20 = 4.35 ۰ 1013 m–2 were calculated. Because both filters are made from polypropylene their resistances Rf have similar values. However ۰0 of both filters differs by an order of magnitude. Filtration times are equal to 42.3 min and 22.1 min respectively. Efficiency of both filters versus time of filtration were presented on the figures. It was proved higher life time of the FCPS 20 filter.
W pracy przedstawiono podstawową charakterystykę procesu filtracji wody szarej (otrzymanej z prania) na polipropylenowych wkładach filtracyjnych o różnym mikronażu (5 ۰m, 20 ۰m). Stwierdzono stosowalność równanie Rutha do procesu filtracji wody szarej, co świadczy o tym, że w podjętych badaniach przebieg procesu dotyczył pierwszej fazy – tzw. formowania mokrego placka filtracyjnego. Wyznaczono parametry równania Rutha oraz na ich podstawie obliczono wartości oporów przegród filtracyjnych oraz objętościowych oporów właściwych osadu. Filtr o mniejszym mikronażu (FCPS 5) wykazywał nieco większy opór przegrody filtracyjnej (Rf = 1,94 ۰ 1011 m–1) niż filtra o mikronażu wyższym FCPS 20 (Rf = 1,89 ۰ 1011 m–1). Niewielkie różnice w wartościach oporów wynikają z charakterystyki obydwu filtrów. Obydwa zbudowane są ze spienionego polipropylenu. Natomiast wartości obliczonych objętościowych oporów właściwych osadu różniły się o rząd wielkości ۰0 dla filtra FCPS 5: 4,84 ۰ 1012 m–2 i ۰0 dla FCPS 20: 4,35 ۰ 1013 m–2. Czasy filtracji wynosiły odpowiednio 42,3 min oraz 22,1 min. Oceniono również wydajność filtracji na obydwu wkładach filtracyjnych i przedstawiono je na wykresach w funkcji czasu, z których wynika dłuższa żywotność filtra FCPS 20.

This paper presents the results of diagnostic examinations conducted on the water pipe made of grey cast iron that were operated in conditions for 260 thousand hours. The tube was exposed in a soil. The phase composition of the deposit layers formed on both sides of the tube walls (outside and inside) was examined using optical and confocal microscopy and X-ray diffraction. The obtained XRD test results showed that mainly -FeOOH) and γ-FeOOH is formed on the inside of the pipe wall. In turn, on the outside, in addition to the above-mentioned compounds, also SiO2 is formed. The results of these examinations have shown a higher degradation of pipe on the outer side. The arithmetic mean deviation of the profile from the mean line was 6.23 µm and 8.07 µm for the inner and outer side of the pipe wall, respectively. The work demonstrates the usefulness of material science, especially X-ray structure, topography and surface studies, in characterizing the degradation processes of layers formed on gray cast iron exploited in the water supply industry.

The aim of the article is to compare the indices of water resources in Poland and Ukraine. The water footprint is an instrument which allows to link the consumption of water resources with the consumption of goods. The blue water footprint shows the consumption of water for production of goods, the green – the use of rainwater in agriculture and forestry and the gray – the amount of water necessary to assimilate pollution. Poland and Ukraine have different climates. The north-western part of Ukraine has a climate similar to Poland, i.e. moderate continental with an annual rainfall of 600 mm/ yr. Southern Ukraine is a grassland plain with warm continental and marine climate and an annual rainfall of 300 mm/yr. This generates a greater need of water for Ukrainian agriculture. The green footprint of Ukraine (2302 m3/cap/yr) is twice as high as that in Poland (1121 m3/cap/yr). As a result, the total water footprint of Ukraine (2881 m3/cap/yr) exceeds the total water footprint of Poland (1503 m3/cap/yr). Analysis of “virtual water” indicates that the total net export of water from Ukraine is 282 m3/cap/yr. At the same time, the net import of water to Poland amounts to 147 m3/cap/yr.

W pracy przedstawiono zarys stanu gospodarki wodno-ściekowej na tle Ramowej Dyrektywy Wodnej Unii Europejskiej, oraz nakreślono perspektywy rozwoju technologii nowych rozwiązań dla posesji w zabudowie rozproszonej. Przedstawiono zasady fitoremediacji, oraz możliwości dalszych rozwiązań. Uzasadniając celowość podjętych badań przedstawiono wielotorową chemiczną analizę ilościową makroelementów, rozważając skuteczność rozdziału fazowego w osadniku szybowym wyposażonym w separator fazy stałej z efektem Coandy. Dokonano analizy dla wybranej rośliny (Poligonum persiearia L.) jej części wegetatywnych w mikrouprawie hydroponicznej na keramzycie. Przeprowadzono analizę chemiczną wody oczyszczanej w oczyszczalni przydomowej z osadnikiem szybowy z roślinami nitrofitowymi. Porównano wyniki analiz na poszczególnych etapach badań: skuteczność separacji w osadniku szybowym, absorpcja makroelementów i jakości wody na wylocie. Dane te pozwalają wnioskować, że omawiany sposób oczyszczania ścieków jest wysoce perspektywiczny dla zabudowy rozproszonej.
This article outlines the actual conditions of the water and sewage industry in Poland within the E.U Water Directive Framework. It also focuses on perspectives new technology solutions using property units in seattered housing. The mechanisms of phytoremediation are principle along is chance future creating. The evidence in the research conducted is presented as an analysis of macro elements focusing on the efficiency of phase separation in the well settling tank which is equipped with a solid phase separator using the Coanda effect. A whole analysis of the selected plant (Poligonum persiearia L.) and its vegetative parts on hypotonic micro-cultivation with keramzyte was performed. A chemical analysis was done on the sewage water a household sewage treatment plant a well settling tank a planted nitrophytes. A comparison analysis results at particulary stages of the research: the efficiency of separation in the well settling tank, absorption of macro-elements and the quality waste water in the outlet. The specifications conclude that review method sewage treatment plant. The best future oriented solution for scattered housing.

Water is a limited resource, hence there is a need for its judicious use. This study was designed to investigate the utilization and the effects of grey water irrigation on the growth parameters of African spinach (Amaranthus hybridus) and its soil properties when planted in a green house. The irrigation treatment consisted of Tap water (TW) and grey water (GW) collected from Akindeko Hostel in Federal University of Technology, Akure. The vegetables were planted in five bucket samples for each irrigation treatment. The water samples were assessed to determine chemical properties, while soil samples were collected and analysed before irrigation application and after harvest. Crop morphology that includes the plant height, number of leaves and stem girth parameters were recorded weekly after emergence. Our results indicate that the grey water type has the highest chemical parameters. These included TSS, SAR, pH, HCO3ˉ, Ca2+, Mg2+, and Na+. What is more, soil pH decreased in all the soil samples after the different water applications, the lowest pH being from grey water. The sodium adsorption ratio (SAR) also decreased in all the irrigation treatments. In addition, the plant height, number of leaves and stem girth of the crop were affected by the water type used. Herein, the crop irrigated with grey water had the highest morphology parameters. Furthermore, soil chemical properties were significantly affected by the use of grey water, hence, appropriate wastewater treatment and water management practices have to be followed to remove the toxic elements that could be hazardous to human health when crops produced on them are consumed.

According to Hoekstra et al. (2011) the water footprint within a geographic area is defined as the total freshwater consumption and pollution within the boundaries of the area. The grey part of the water footprint refers to pollution and is an indicator of the water volume needed to assimilate a pollutant load that reaches a water body. It is possible then, based on the grey water footprint to estimate if the water available in a river at a particular crosssection will be sufficient to maintain a water pollution level (WPL) below 100%. The crossing of 100% indicates that the waste assimilation capacity has been fully consumed in this particular catchment. In this paper, the grey water footprint from nonpoint source pollution has been calculated based on long-term hydrometrological data for the upper part of a small agricultural catchment (area of 23.4 km2 ) (Zagożdżonka River) in central Poland. Based on land use and the amount of fertilizers applied in the catchment, together with information about the natural concentration of nitrogen and phosphorus in the river, as well as maximum acceptable concentration, the water pollution level has been calculated for actual conditions. The estimation of future runoff decreases for the considered catchment (Banasik, Hejduk 2012) has been applied in order to estimate potential future water pollution levels. The calculation shows that, even when the management practices in this catchment remain as they are, including the current extensive crop production, the WPL of 100% will be exceeded in the year 2033 (for phosphorus) and 2043 (for nitrogen) due only to the decreasing availability of water.

The present article is aimed to find out more about advantages and disadvantages of the gray waste water management. Grey water has been used in other countries for a long time. In Poland is still a novel method of recycling. Due to the many advantages, mainly linked to the environment protection, but also economic, social, technical or town-planning constraints, it can become an alternative solution in public buildings and, traditional Polish houses. Gray water system usually requires a larger financial contribution, due to the need for building a double installation comparing to the traditional installation of waste water management. The examples of other countries like Germany or France show that benefits from having this system compensate money invested. On the basis of literature the qualitative and quantitative characteristics of grey waste water was presented. A case study of Hotel Gołębiewski in Karpacz is described as a first example of use a gray water system. The entire hotel complex uses gray water to wash and toilet flush in hotel rooms. The owners of Gołębiewski complex have already introduced many proecological initiatives in area of water management and conservation.
Przedmiotem pracy jest problematyka związana z ponownym zagospodarowaniem szarej wody. Wykorzystanie szarej wody, od dawna stosowane na świecie, dopiero teraz zdobywa uznanie w Polsce. Z uwagi na wiele zalet, głównie ekologicznych, ale również ekonomicznych, społecznych technicznych czy też urbanistycznych, może stać się alternatywnym rozwiązaniem nie tylko w budynkach użyteczności publicznej, ale także w tradycyjnych polskich domach jednorodzinnych. System szarej wody wymaga zazwyczaj większego wkładu finansowego ze względu na konieczność zamontowania dualnej instalacji, jednak z upływem lat korzyści pochodzące z posiadania tego systemu rekompensują zainwestowane pieniądze. Przykładem budynku posiadającego instalacje szarej wody jest Hotel Gołębiewski w Karpaczu. Jest to pierwszy kompleks hotelowy w Polsce posiadający system służący do szarego recyklingu, wykorzystujący wodę szarą do dwóch celów - prania oraz spłukiwania toalet w pokojach hotelowych. Hotel korzysta z wielu rozwiązań służących oszczędności wody, tj. zbieranie wody deszczowej czy wykorzystywanie wody do ochładzania agregatów.

The study assesses the pollution discharged from 251 wastewater treatment plants (WWTPs) throughout the Odra river basin in the Czech Republic. The development of pollution production over a period of 15 years (2004–2018) together with a number of WWTPs in the Odra river basin were analyzed. The Grey Water Footprint (GWF) of discharged pollution was determined both in terms of individual size categories of WWTPs and in terms of the parameter that most affects the level of pollution. The share of the small WWTPs size categories (up to 2,000 PE) on the total GWF value of discharged pollution is only 8%, although these are the most numerous. The share of the WWTPs of the size category > 10,000 PE on the total GWF value of discharged pollution is 82%. Total phosphorus (at large WWTPs) and ammonium nitrogen (at small WWTPs) were identified as the key pollutants that most determine the value of the Grey water footprint of discharged pollution.

W roku 2009 przeprowadzono eksperyment z nawadnianiem roślin ściekami bytowo-gospodarczymi. Doświadczenie prowadzono na glebie płowej wytworzonej z piasku gliniastego w warunkach glebowo-klimatycznych Dolnego Śląska w miejscowości Biskupice Oławskie, położonej przy granicy województwa opolskiego. Celem pracy było określenie wpływu nawadniania ściekami na plonowanie kukurydzy i buraków pastewnych. W okresie wegetacyjnym stosowano dawki polewowe 10 mm w odstępach tygodniowych. Rok 2009 charakteryzował się dużą ilością opadów, znacznie przekraczającą średnią z wielolecia 1956-2009. W lipcu i sierpniu suma opadów przekraczała ponad dwukrotnie opady optymalne dla uprawianych roślin. W miesiącach kwiecień, lipiec, sierpień i wrzesień średnie temperatury powietrza były wyższe od przeciętnych z wielolecia. Pomimo nadmiaru wody nie zaobserwowano niekorzystnych zmian w rozwoju roślin. Nawadnianie kukurydzy w istotny sposób zwiększyło plon zielonej masy roślin oraz nieznacznie wpłynęło na ich wysokość. Buraki pastewne nie zareagowały istotnie na nawadnianie ściekami. Zaznaczyła się jedynie tendencja wzrostu plonu korzeni roślin nawadnianych. Nawadnianie kukurydzy pozytywnie wpłynęło na rośliny, niezależnie od ich wielkości, natomiast buraki pastewne o ciężarze korzenia poniżej 1 kg zareagowały na nawadnianie obniżką plonu, zaś większe rośliny wyraźnie zwiększyły swoją masę.
In 2009 an experiment with domestic wastewater irrigation of plants was realized. The experiment was conducted on podzolic soil which was formed from loamy sand in the soil-climatic conditions of Lower Silesia in Biskupice Oławskie, located close to the borders of the Opole province. The aim of this study was to determine the effect of wastewater irrigation on maize and fodder beet yields. The doses applied during the growing season in weekly intervals were 10 mm. The year 2009 was characterised by high levels of rainfalls, well above average for the years 1961-2000. In July and August the sum of rainfalls exceeded the optimum rainfall levels for the crops more than twice. During the months of April, July, August, and September the average air temperatures were above the average multi-annual air temperatures. Despite the excessive amount of water, there were no adverse changes in plant development. Irrigation of maize increased the green mass of the plants yield significantly and slightly affected the plants height. Yields of fodder beets did not respond significantly to the wastewater irrigation. An increasing trend was only noted in the yields of roots of irrigated plants. Irrigation of maize had a positive effect on the plants, regardless of their size, whereas the fodder beets with root weight below 1 kg reacted with a yield reduction, while the larger plants clearly increased their weight.

Zanieczyszczenie wód powierzchniowych w całym dorzeczu Odry jest postrzegane jako poważny problem, na który znacząco wpływa niewystarczający stopień oczyszczania ścieków w zlewniach cząstkowych w stosunku do dostępnych najnowocześniejszych technologii i celów środowiskowych dyrektywy 2000/60/WE. Do określenia wpływu przemysłowych i komunalnych oczyszczalni ścieków na redukcję odprowadzanych zanieczyszczeń w czeskiej części międzynarodowego dorzecza Odry wykorzystano metodę oceny szarego śladu wodnego. W czeskiej części dorzecza Odry przeanalizowano dane z 391 oczyszczalni ścieków w latach 2004–2018. Uzyskane wyniki pokazują, że oczyszczalnie ścieków zmniejszają nawet o 92% szary ślad wodny, tj. ilość wody potrzebnej do rozcieńczenia zanieczyszczeń odprowadzanych do odbiornika w czeskiej części dorzecza Odry.
Surface water pollution is referred to be a problem in the entire Odra river basin. In sub-basins, an insufficient degree of wastewater treatment has been identified as a major problem – in relation to the best available technologies and environmental objectives of Directive 2000/60/EC. The grey water footprint indicator was used to express the influence of point sources of pollution (industrial and municipal wastewater treatment plants) on discharged pollution reduction in the Czech part of the international Odra river basin. The number of 391 records of wastewater treatment plants for the period 2004-2018 was analysed. The results show that the wastewater treatment plants reduce by up to 92% the potential water needs for dilution of pollution discharged into waters in the Czech part of the Odra river basin.

Celem pracy była ocena agregacji i wodoodporności agregatów w glebach pło-wych wytworzonych z glin zwałowych. Gleby te były zaliczane do różnych kompleksów przydatności rolniczej: pierwszego, drugiego i trzeciego. Próbki gleb pobrano z poziomów Ap (z głębokości 0-25 cm) i z poziomów podpowierzchniowych Et, Bt i C (z głębokości 25-50 cm, 50-75 cm i 75-100 cm) po zbiorze pszenicy ozimej. Poziomy Ap badanych gleb charakteryzowały się większą zawartością powietrznie suchych agregatów o wymiarach 0,25-10 mm (w tym agregatów 1-5 mm), mniejszą zawartością brył >10 mm oraz większą zawartością wodoodpornych agregatów o wymiarach 0,25-10 mm, zwłaszcza 1-10 mm, niż poziomy podpowierzchniowe. Skład agregatowy w poziomach Ap gleb kompleksu pierwszego oceniono jako korzystny, a w poziomach Ap gleb kompleksu drugiego i trzeciego jako średnio korzystny. Skład agregatowy w poziomach podpowierzchniowych gleb oceniono najczęściej jako średnio korzystny. Wodoodporność agregatów w poziomach Ap gleb zaliczanych do kompleksu pierwszego i drugiego oceniono jako korzystną, a w poziomach Ap gleb kompleksu trzeciego jako średnią. Wodoodporność agregatów w poziomach podpowierzchniowych Et, Bt i C została oceniona jako średnia lub słaba.
The objective of this study was to evaluate the soil aggregation and water aggre-gate stability of Luvisols developed from moraine loams. The soils were classified in various complexes of agricultural suitability: very good wheat (first), good wheat (second) and deficient wheat (third). Soil samples were taken from Ap horizons (from the depth of 0-25 cm) and from Et, Bt and C genetic horizons (from the depth of 25-50 cm, 50-75 cm i 75-100 cm) after the harvest of winter wheat. The Ap horizons of investigated soils were characterised by a higher content of air-dry ag-gregates in the 0.25-10 mm diameter range (inclusive of aggregates of 1-5 mm), a lower content of clods >10 mm and a higher content of water-stable soil aggregates in the 0.25-10 mm diameter class, especially 1-10 mm, than the subsoil. The aggregate-size distribution in Ap horizons of soils classified in the first complex was estimated as favourable, and in Ap horizons of soils classified in the second and third complexes was estimated as medium. The aggregate-size distribution in the subsoil was estimated mostly as medium. Aggregate water stability in Ap horizons of soils classified in the first and second complexes was estimated as favourable, and in Ap horizon of soils classified in the third complex was estimated as medium. Aggregate water stability in Et, Bt, BC and C hori-zons was classified as medium or weak.
