    The creation of knowledge-based economy and cooperation in the conditions of globalization and economic integration led to changes in the labour market, which in turn led to changes in the situation of higher education in Poland. Adjusting teaching offer of Polish universities to demands of employers put on their future employees represents an embodiment of educational aspirations of future employees. The aim of this paper is to compare the processes of change which take place in the structure of fields of study at universities with changes visible on the labour market in Poznań and Greater Poland region. The study points the changes that occurred in the structure of specializations chosen by students, and in the structure of a functioning of labour market, and then focuses on the analysis of the intensity, speed and stability of the process of adaptation of these structures in 2008-2014.

    Początki wielkopolskiego piśmiennictwa pszczelniczego związane są z działalnością Jana Ostroroga i pierwszą polską książką pszczelarską, Nauką koło pasiek, wydaną w 1614 roku. Prawdziwie bujny rozwój oświaty pszczelarskiej, w tym literatury, rozpoczyna się jednak dopiero od połowy XIX wieku. Pierwszym wielkopolskim czasopismem dla hodowców pszczół był wychodzący od 1880 roku „Pszczelarz”. Wcześniej chcący pisać o tej gałęzi gospodarki umieszczali swe publikacje na łamach różnych czasopism, często dalekich swą tematyką od zagadnień gospodarstwa wiejskiego. Biorąc pod uwagę bogactwo poruszonego tematu, a przy tym objętość jednego artykułu, starano się w nim przedstawić ważniejsze dzieła książkowe i czasopisma, a jednocześnie w miarę możliwości ludzi, którzy często prócz związków z pszczelarstwem zapisali się dzięki swej różnorodnej działalności na kartach historii regionu. Szczególną uwagę zwrócono na czasopisma dziedzinowe, których liczba i jakość pozwalają stwierdzić, że Wielkopolska miała duży wkład w rozwój tego działu czasopiśmiennictwa w skali krajowej. Literatura pszczelarska nie rozwijała się w pustce politycznej, gospodarczej czy kulturowej. Dlatego przedstawiony został też rozwój organizacji pszczelarskich i innych niż piśmienne metod przekazu wiedzy teoretycznej i praktycznej.
    The presentation aims at providing a comprehensive overview of the history of the apicultural literature written in the region until 1950. Its beginnings are closely related to the achievements of Jan Ostroróg and the first Polish beekeeping manual, Nauka koło pasiek, published in 1614. Genuinely flourishing development of beekeeping education and its relevant literature started though dated as late as the half of the nineteenth century. The first journal for beekeepers published in Greater Poland was “Pszczelarz” (the first issue was published in 1880). Earlier, authors of apicultural articles had had to publish their publications in other journals, oftentimes representing subjects remotely related to issues of rural livelihood and economy. Taking into consideration the diversity and richness of the subject presented in this article, as well as the limitations imposed by its required size, the author attempts to discuss only the most important books and periodicals covering the subject. Furthermore, a short presentation of people who, beside their relations to apiculture, also had their notable share in the achievements in the local history of the region, is provided. A particular attention is given to periodicals covering the subject area whose sheer circulation and the quality they represented testify to the enormous regional contribution of Greater Poland to the development of the literature of this type in the whole of the country. The apicultural literature was not, however, developing in political, economic and cultural void. Hence, the development of apicultural organizations and associations as well as other than written transfer of knowledge (theoretical and practical) of records of indigenous human knowledge are also presented and discussed.

    The aim of the paper is to identify factors determining innovation activity of small and medium- sized enterprises (SMEs) during the transition to the fourth industrial revolution. The analysis is based on the results of empirical research conducted by means of a questionnaire survey on a sample of 88 SMEs from the Greater Poland region. The time range of the study covered the years 2012–2014. In the course of the study, 14 research hypotheses have been tested. These hypotheses were formulated based on the relevant literature, the results of previous research and the report of Smart Industry Polska 2017, prepared by Siemens in co-operation with the Polish Ministry of Development. The impact of selected factors on the innovation activity of the surveyed companies was assessed on the basis of the gamma rank correlation. The necessary calculations were carried out using the STATISTICA software. The results of the analyses show that innovation activity of the surveyed companies is mainly determined by the following factors: the company’s own R&D activity, co-operation with scientific and research units, and, what is new in comparison to the earlier studies, co-operation with business incubators and technology parks.
    Celem artykułu jest identyfikacja czynników wpływających na aktywność innowacyjną małych i średnich przedsiębiorstw (MŚP) w okresie przejścia do czwartej rewolucji przemysłowej. W opracowaniu wykorzystano dane empiryczne zebrane za pomocą kwestionariusza ankietowego wśród 88 właścicieli MŚP z terenu Wielkopolski. Zakres czasowy badań obejmował lata 2012–2014. W toku przeprowadzonych badań weryfikacji poddano 14 hipotez sformułowanych na podstawie literatury przedmiotu, wyników wcześniejszych badań oraz raportu Smart Industry Polska 2017, opracowanego przez firmę Siemens we współpracy z Ministerstwem Rozwoju. Wpływ wybranych czynników na przyjęte miary aktywności innowacyjnej oceniono na podstawie korelacji rang gamma, a niezbędne obliczenia przeprowadzono za pomocą programu STATISTICA. Wyniki badań pozwalają stwierdzić, że do najważniejszych czynników stymulujących aktywność innowacyjną badanych MŚP należy zaliczyć m.in.: prowadzenie własnych prac B+R, współpracę z instytutami naukowo-badawczymi oraz, co stanowi nowość w porównaniu do wcześniejszych badań, współpracę z instytucjami otoczenia biznesu, takimi jak inkubatory czy parki technologiczne.

    Water samples were collected from irrigation ditches and drainage canals surrounding fields in southern Greater Poland. Initially, the samples were subjected to low and highspeed centrifugation and obtained pellets were used to perform biological assays. Viral identification involved biological, electron microscopic as well as molecular methods. The occurrence of Tobacco mosaic virus (TMV) and Tomato mosaic virus (ToMV) was demonstrated in 12 of the 17 examined water sources. The molecular analysis results showed TMV and ToMV co-infections in the analysed water samples. To our knowledge, this is the first report of tobamoviruses being found in environmental water in Poland.

    Niniejszy artykuł ma na celu przedstawienie przygotowań, a następnie przebiegu ewakuacji wybranych grup polskiej ludności cywilnej w 1939 r. z polsko-niemieckiego obszaru przygranicznego. W okresie międzywojennym plany ograniczonej ewakuacji z wybranych części województw śląskiego, poznańskiego i pomorskiego, podporządkowanej całkowicie celom wojskowym, były przygotowywane od 1925 r. i następnie modyfikowane w ostatnich latach przed wojną. Ewakuacja („wycofanie”) administracji dotyczyła wszystkich instytucji rządowych i ich personelu, za wyjątkiem aparatu Ministerstwa Sprawiedliwości i niektórych instytucji podporządkowanych Ministerstwu Wyznań Religijnych i Oświecenia Publicznego. Aż do dnia niemieckiej agresji na Polskę nie został przygotowany żaden plan ewakuacji ogółu ludności cywilnej. Cała „akcja wycofania na wypadek Z” była przygotowywana w pośpiechu i w poczuciu troski o nieprowokowanie Niemców, lecz w konsekwencji nie miała szans realizacji już w kilka dni po wybuchu drugiej wojny światowej.
    The purpose of this paper is to analyse the preparation and implementation of the evacuation of selected groups of Polish civilians from the Polish-German borderland in 1939. During the interwar period, the outlines of a limited evacuation from selected parts of the voivodeships of Silesia, Pomerania and Poznan were completely subordinate to military objectives. Those outlines had been prepared since 1925 and modified at the end of the 1930s, in the last years before the war. The evacuation (“withdrawal”) concerned the staff of all government institutions, except for the staff of the Ministry of Justice and of certain institutions subordinate to the Ministry of Religious Affairs and Public Education. A voluntary evacuation was possible in the case of local administration officials and of the families of all evacuated officials. Until the German invasion of Poland, no outline of the evacuation of the whole civilian population had been prepared. The entire “operation withdrawal in the case of Z (West)” was prepared in haste and in such a way as not to provoke Germans. The instructions of evacuation and of the deployment of some categories of the population were inconsistent with the general transportation plans in the case of war. The “withdrawal” plan had no chance of being implemented within a few days of the outbreak of World War II.
