    In dem Artikel befaßt sich der Verfasser zuerst mit den literarischen Problemen der Bergpredigt (Kontext, Aufbau der ganzen Bergpredigt und jeder Perikope, Eigenart der Antithesen). Auf diesem Hintergrund wurden dann die exegetischen Analysen aller Antithesen durchgeführt, um die eigentliche theologische Tragweite der Botschaft Jesu für die Kirche zu ermitteln. Der Vergleich mit den damaligen rabbinischen Interpretationen des alttestamentlichen Gesetzes konnte die Autorität Jesu sowie die Einzigartigkeit seiner Lehre zeigen.

    In the infancy narrative, Matthew the evangelist describes specific places associated with the earthly life of Jesus: Bethlehem, Jerusalem, Egypt, Ramah, and Nazareth. These places show Jesus and allow for deeper and more accurate descriptions of the Christology of the Gospel. Bethlehem is the place of the birth and worship of the Messiah. For this reason, the small place is exalted, in opposition to Jerusalem, the place of death of the Messiah, which is deprived of its respect and rank in the Old Testament. The latter town embodies people who are reserved and hostile to Jesus. Meanwhile, Egypt and Ramah act as subjects: Egypt is the point to which Holy Family arrives and later leaves, repeating the journey of Israel, albeit in a perfect way. Ramah refers to the matriarch Rachel and her weeping over the Chosen People, who have rejected the Messiah. The primary city in Matthew’s infancy narrative is Nazareth, which describes Jesus and points to his messianic dignity and dedication to God.
    Mateusz, redagując Ewangelię dzieciństwa głoszącą orędzie o narodzeniu Mesjasza, wplótł w nią konkretne miejsca związane z ziemskim życiem Jezusa: Betlejem, Jerozolimę, Egipt, Rama i Nazaret. Te miejsca ukazują Jezusa, pozwalają głębiej i dokładniej oddać chrystologię Ewangelii. Betlejem to miejsce narodzenia i oddania pokłonu zapowiedzianemu Mesjaszowi. Mała miejscowość ze względu na narodziny Syna Boga zostaje wywyższona, w przeciwieństwie do Jerozolimy, która jest miejscem śmierci Zbawiciela i dlatego zostaje pozbawiona przynależnego jej w Starym Testamencie szacunku i rangi. Stolica uosabia ludzi zamkniętych i wrogich Jezusowi. Egipt i Rama pełnią funkcje przedmiotowe. Egipt jest punktem, do którego wędruje Święta Rodzina i z którego wychodzi, powtarzając wędrówkę Izraela, ale w sposób doskonały. Rama odsyła do żony Jakuba Racheli i jej płaczu nad narodem wybranym, który odrzuca posłanego Mesjasza. Pierwszoplanowym miastem w Ewangelii dzieciństwa według Mateusza jest Nazaret, miejscowość określa Jezusa i wskazuje na Jego godność mesjańską i poświęcenie Bogu.

    The article is devoted to the influence of the Louvain edition of the Vulgate on the workshop of Jakub Wujek, one of the most famous sixteenth-century translators of the Bible. This relationship is shown based on the example of the pericope concerning the promise of the primacy of St. Peter from Matthew 16:13‒20. Until now, studies of the method of the Jesuit from Wągrowiec have availed themselves at random of various editions of the Vulgate (different from those used by the translator, including even modern translations), leading to erroneous conclusions about his workshop. The article comprises the exact editions on which Wujek based his work. This method enabled the discovery that the marginal notes added to the text by the translator were not compiled by him, but transcribed from the Louvain edition of the Vulgate.

    The papier is a study of Matthew 1,18b–25 focalized on the narrative form of expression of belief in Incarnation. The studied pericope is presented as a key element of the Matthew’s Infancy Gospel (Matthew 1–2). Analysis of the plot of narrative is completed with the study of the quotation of Is 7,9 used in Matthew 1,23 in the Greek version (LXX). Both, the narrative and the form of the quoted text chosen by the author of the gospel are focalized on the virginal conception of Jesus as a decisive argument for the divine origin of Jesus. Inner textual recipient of the message of Incarnation is St. Joseph, a model of believer.

    Artykuł jest poświęcony wpływowi Wulgaty Lowańskiej na warsztat Jakuba Wujka – jednego z najbardziej znanych tłumaczy biblijnych XVI w. Zależność ta została ukazana na przykładzie perykopy o obietnicy prymatu św. Piotra z Mt 16, 13-20. Do tej pory w badaniach nad metodą tego jezuity z Wągrowca posługiwano się przypadkowymi wydaniami Wulgaty (różnymi od tych, z których tłumacz korzystał, a nawet współczesnymi), co prowadziło do błędnych wniosków na temat jego warsztatu. Niniejszy artykuł zawiera dokładnie te edycje, na których Wujek opierał swoją pracę. To doprowadziło do odkrycia, że noty marginalne umieszczane przez tłumacza przy tekstach nie były sporządzane przez niego, ale przepisywane z Wulgaty Lowańskiej.

    The author proposes an interpretation of the pericope of Matt 1,18-25 that emphasizes some Mariological aspects in the context of the first canonical Gospel.The author attests to the fact that the virgin birth of Mary is not given any special justification in Matt 1,18-25 nor is it an object of any special theological reflection because the pericope in question (Matt 1,18-25) is a self-contained narrative in which St. Matthew depicts the birth of Jesus as an exceptional event in the economy of salvation. And he does so for two reasons: because the virgin birth itself as well as the whole presented event (cf. Matt 1,22) is a fulfillment of the Old Testament prophecy of Is 7,14 (cf. Matt 1,22b-23) and because the fact that Mary conceived by the power of the Holy Spirit becomes a logical ground for acknowledging Jesus as the Son of God. Nevertheless, the Evangelist also allows for the Mariological theme in a very special way.The author of the article reaches a number of crucial Mariological conclusions which are the guiding ideas of his research, i.e. that in Matt 1,18-25 Mary is portrayed even more expressively than in the pericope presenting the genealogy of Jesus (Matt 1,1-17 especially Matt 1,16). St. Matthew depicts Mary as a remarkable person, very significant in the fulfillment of God’s plan of saving humanity. Mary plays an invaluable role in the pericope of Matt 1,18-25. Since the times of the prophet Isaiah she was the chosen Virgin who would give birth to the Emmanuel. Thus, she can be described as a mediator of God’s actions in His plan of saving all humanity. But in Matt 1,18-25 St. Matthew does not mention any personal deeds of Mary.The author attests to the fact that Mary is the virgin and immaculate Mother of Jesus, the Messiah, the Christ, Son of David and Son of God. This leads to a conclusion that Mary is the Mother of the Emmanuel. And because her motherhood is the result of the Holy Spirit’s action (Matt 1,18.20) the Church owes to her the Master, the Son of God who stands by the Church “always, [even] unto the end of the world” (Matt 28,20).Keywords
