    Opis:
    Geology, and especially hydrogeology is a scientific, and at the same time, a practical discipline that are closely related to each other. Academics do support practitioners by developing methodological guidelines for all practical aspects of their work. Among their activities are: organisation of databases, which are mostly available via the internet; development of geological and hydrogeological cartography, which is a synthesis of all information regarding geological and hydrogeological environment; undertaking groundwater monitoring programmes and interpretations of their results, which allows to diagnose and to forecast groundwater status; undertaking investigations regarding protection of groundwater as well as methodological support for hydrogeological practitioners by organisation of specialised trainings, provision of consultancy, expert judgements and dissemination of knowledge.

    Opis:
    Over the course of several years, web cartography which changed the way of presentation and exchange of information gained new sense. Techniques development and  availability of geoinformation tools in connection with net data transfer new quality enabled to create maps accessible in real time according to user’s preference. The aim of the paper is to characterize and evaluate technique of parameterization for net resource URL address (Uniform Resource Locator). Examples of maps presented in a browser’s window according to set parameters defined in accordance with rules in force in the range of API programistic interfaces of chosen map services were presented in the paper. Maps developed by URL link parameterization technique were put to functional tests. Moreover, efficiency and utility tests were performed. Performed tests show that creating maps with help of discussed technique needs knowledge and expert abilities which may cause difficulties to less advanced users and its use allows to evoke maps in the browser’s window but in the limited range.

    Opis:
    In the urbanized area of Pruszków there are objects of geological and geomorphological heritage, i.e. objects of inanimate nature. They include glacier-originated relief and deposits: Pliocene clays, till, Scandinavian boulders and water. Their considerable differentiation proves geodiversity of this city, lying in south-western Mazovia. Some of them have potential to become geotouristic attractions of this region. Unfortunately, the city authorities, and consequently the city residents are not aware of the value of these assets. The lack of dissemination of knowledge about the less known natural resources causes that they remain unused in the sustainable development of the municipality and the city, as well as in shaping the image of the city.
    W artykule przedstawiono dziedzictwo geologiczne małego mazowieckiego miasta, które stanowi potencjał rozwoju geoturystyki miejskiej. Od zaangażowania lokalnych władz samorządowych w zagospodarowanie elementów przyrody nieożywionej do pełnienia funkcji turystycznych z zachowaniem zasad ochrony przyrody zależy możliwość czerpania korzyści ekonomicznych z rozwijającej się zrównoważonej geoturystyki.
