    This paper explores the threats to France’s security linked to the influx of immigrants and refugees. As the number of immigrants and refugees entering the country grows, security policies are jeopardised. The opinions French citizens on the safety of local politics, communities, identity, culture, language, and religion are surveyed in the 2017 report Attitudes Towards Refugees, Immigrants, and Identity in France. The analysis of data included in the report shows negative attitudes toward Islam and generally doubts towards newcomers. The results of the analysis present an important knowledge for security policies because it is a reflection of a nations wariness. That having been said, more studies need to be conducted in order to have a better perspective on the identified issues

    The article aims to describe the regional security challenges to India in South Asia. Since the partition of India in 1947, the country has continuously been under external threat as a form of proxy warfare and terrorism. For this purpose, the article highlighted the core hotspots where India has major border issues with China in the Himalayan terrain. India has been facing a bigger security challenge from China and Pakistan in the South Asia region. This article analyses the defence ties between India and France in the context of security. India's neorealist approaches expand its strategic partnership in global politics. Therefore, India has been getting strategic support from the French side whenever India seeks support in a critical situation. The article uses the methods of case study and discourse analysis to answer the question and find out the study's relevance. As a result of severe security threats, India had to negotiate the purchase of defence equipment from France. India had to buy Rafael fighter jet, submarine and other heavy military weapons. Indo-French relations are stronger than in the past and will develop as friendly relations in the future.

    La faiblesse de l’alliance militaire franco-polonaise s’explique par des intérêts nationaux divergents en matière de sécurité. Pour la France, la priorité est donnée aux défis posés par les menaces émanant de l’Allemagne, alors que pour la Pologne, ces défis sont essentiellement liés à la Russie soviétique. En conséquence, une ambiguïté est apparue dans la coopération militaire franco-polonaise, d’autant plus que la France préférait un système de sécurité collective et la Pologne des accords bilatéraux. La France a sécurisé ses frontières avec l’accord de Locarno, tandis que pour l’Europe centrale, elle souhaitait un accord de sécurité collective impliquant l’URSS. Dans le même temps, la conclusion par la Pologne d’un pacte de non-agression avec l’URSS est l’occasion pour la France de limiter ses engagements en matière d’alliance, qui doivent être concrétisés par le projet de pacte oriental – rejeté par la Pologne – en tant que «Locarno oriental». La question du projet a cependant révélé les limites du système de sécurité collective de la Société des Nations et, bien qu’il ne remette pas formellement en cause l’alliance existante, il a éloigné la Pologne et la France.
    The weakness of the Franco-Polish military alliance stemmed from conflicting perceptions of security. France prioritized possible threats from Germany, while for Poland these threats came from Soviet Russia. This introduced ambiguity into their military cooperation, especially since France preferred a collective security system while Poland favored bilateral agreements. France secured its borders with the Locarno treaties, while for Central Europe it wanted a collective security agreement involving the USSR. Poland’s conclusion of a nonaggression pact with the USSR was an opportunity for France to limit its alliance commitments, which was to take concrete form in the draft Eastern Pact, rejected by Poland as an “Eastern Locarno”. It revealed the limits of the League of Nations’ collective security system and distanced Poland and France from each other, although it did not formally call into question the existing alliance.
    Słabość polsko-francuskiego sojuszu wojskowego wynikała ze sprzecznych interesów w zakresie bezpieczeństwa narodowego. Dla Francji priorytetowe były wyzwania związane z zagrożeniami płynącymi z Niemiec, podczas gdy dla Polski takie wyzwania odnosiły się przede wszystkim do sowieckiej Rosji. W związku z tym pojawiła się dwuznaczność w polsko- francuskiej współpracy wojskowej, szczególnie że Francja preferowała system bezpieczeństwa zbiorowego, a Polska – umowy bilateralne. Francja zapewniła sobie bezpieczeństwo granic układem z Locarno, a dla Europy Środkowej chciała układu bezpieczeństwa zbiorowego z udziałem ZSRR. Przy czym zawarcie przez Polskę paktu o nieagresji z ZSRR było dla Francji okazją do ograniczenia jej zobowiązań sojuszniczych, które miał urzeczywistniać w zamyśle – odrzucony przez Polskę – projekt paktu wschodniego jako „wschodniego Locarno”. Sprawa projektu ujawniła jednak ograniczenia systemu bezpieczeństwa zbiorowego Ligi Narodów, a także – choć formalnie nie zakwestionował istniejącego sojuszu – oddalił od siebie Polskę i Francję.

    Artykuł analizuje historyczną ewolucję procesu rewitalizacji Unii Zachodnioeuropejskiej (UZE) w kontekście relacji ze Stanami Zjednoczonymi w odniesieniu do koncepcji przyszłej Unii Europejskiej. Autor prezentuje główne problemy i uwarunkowania reaktywacji UZE w celu wyjaśnienia niepowodzenia implementacji wspólnych środków bezpieczeństwa, mających miejsce w latach osiemdziesiątych. Ponadto autor skupia uwagę na roli partnerstwa niemiecko francuskiego w kontekście budowy nowej tożsamości zachodnioeuropejskiej obrony i na kolejnych koncepcjach wspólnego bezpieczeństwa, przedstawianych na forum Wspólnot Europejskich.
    The article examines the historical evolution of the process of reviving the Western European Union (WEU) within the context of its relations with the USA and with reference to the concept of the European Commonwealth (EC). The author presents major problems and conditions related to the reactivation of WEU in order to explain Europe’s failure to develop and implement collective security measures in the mid-1980s. Furthermore, the author focuses on the role of West Germany-France partnership in the context of building a new identity of Western Europe’s defence, and on subsequent concepts of collective security, which have been presented in the forum of European Communities.

Superpower, the global position of France, decided to rebuild, after the new president was elected in June 1959, Gen. Ch. de Gaulle.
