The aim of the article is to present the contemporary Polish cinema as the integrated economic, cultural and legal system, to quote dispersed data and to present the data generated by the author, which is her own contribution into the development of the film science. Step by step, the author describes the process of achieving the results, problems with the methodology, the decisions about applying specified methods of calculating or presenting the data and the application of exceptions. The situation of the Polish cinema today is influenced and determined by the Law on Cinematography which was introduced in 2005. Its real effects were observed in 2007. The number of Polish feature films increased from 20-25 in2000-2005 to 40-55 in2007-2011.  The author cites the methodology keys to estimate the number of the feature films in the defined year.

Autor bada zmiany w polskim ustawodawstwie w zakresie dostępności filmów dla nieletnich w okresie międzywojennym. Analizuje następujące po sobie akty prawne oraz Ustawę o filmach i ich wyświetlaniu, okoliczności ich powstania oraz zmiany, jakie ze sobą niosły. Opisuje dyskurs medialny, jaki toczył się wokół tych zmian, zaznaczając główne głosy sporu, czyli Kościół katolicki, publicystów filmowych, nauczycielstwo oraz samą młodzież, i nakreślając ich motywacje oraz argumenty. Przybliża także wpływ toczącej się dyskusji na realne działania państwa związane z dostępem młodzieży do kina. Zestawia kwestię sposobu działania polskiego rynku filmowego z odczuwalnym brakiem filmów młodzieżowych na ekranach oraz wyraźną niechęcią producentów do inwestowania w tego typu obrazy, starając się odpowiedzieć na pytanie, dlaczego w przedwojennej Polsce praktycznie nie wyświetlano produkcji dla młodzieży i w jaki sposób starano się wypełnić tę lukę na rynku dystrybucyjnym.
The author studies changes in Polish legislation regarding the availability of films to minors in the interwar period. He analyses the consecutive legal regulations and the Law on Films and Their Screening, their origins, and the changes that they brought about. He describes the media discourse that took place around these changes, highlighting the main voices in the dispute, i.e., the Catholic Church, film journalists, teachers, and the young filmgoers themselves, presenting their motivations and arguments. He also outlines the impact of the ongoing discussion on the state’s actions related to young audiences’ access to cinema. He juxtaposes the functioning of the Polish film market with the perceived lack of youth films on screens and the apparent reluctance of producers to invest in this type of pictures, seeking to establish why there were virtually no productions for young people screened in pre-war Poland and what attempts were made to fill this gap in the distribution market.

Dziedzictwo filmowe stanowi coraz obszerniejszą grupę materiałów, które niestety nie mają jednolitych regulacji dotyczących ich gromadzenia, konserwacji i udostępniania.Artykuł przybliża pracę nad kolejnymi dokumentami Unii Europejskiej, regulującymi zagadnienia związane z utworami filmowymi oraz audiowizualnymi.Ukazane zostały wypracowane standardy dotyczące spójności metod  gromadzenia i konserwacji oraz interoperacyjności baz danych zawierających utwory audiowizualne. 
Film heritage is an everexpanding group of materials. Unfortunately, they do not have uniform regulations for their collection, maintenance and sharing. This article shows the course of work on subsequent European Union documents regulating issues related to film and audiovisual works. This article presents the standards developed by the European Union concerning the consistency of  methods of collection, maintenance and interoperability of databases containing audiovisual works.

W niniejszym artykule rozważam rzekome podobieństwa pomiędzy metodologią „studiów literackich w prawie” a metodologią „mediów wizualnych w prawie”. Następnie poddaję ocenie argumenty na rzecz przydatności drugiego z tych podejść. Wygląda na to, że choć oba podejścia nawiązują do podobnych podstaw humanistycznych, to stanowią jednak stanowiska oddzielne. To rodzi potrzebę, aby uzasadnić wartość „mediów wizualnych w prawie” niezależnie od uznania wartości „studiów literackich w prawie”. Rozważam w szczególności zasadność oskarżeń pod adresem ruchu „prawa i filmu” jako zagrożenia dla prawa i jego autorytetu (w odniesieniu do argumentacji Richarda K. Sherwina o „popularyzacji prawa”).
In this paper I discuss the apparent similarities between the “literate approach” and the aspiring “visual media approach”. Then, I scrutinize arguments for utility of the second approach. It seems that even though both approaches are founded on similar humanistic considerations, they are nonetheless separate positions; thus the need to justify the application of the second approach independently of the first. As an important task in due course I consider debunking the arguments in support of accusations of the “law and film” movement of being a threat to law and its legitimacy (as related to the “law going pop” argument by Richard K. Sherwin).

The definition of what is a film in Polish and Swedish law has been evolving over the years since the emergence of the phenomenon of moving pictures that give the illusion of vivid images. The development of copyright and its international codification in the form of conventions gave the definition of film an international character. In their legislation, Poland and Sweden have introduced protection for the film work, drawing inspiration from the definitions contained in the conventions. The current law protecting a film work redefines the film taking into account the rapid development of works containing moving pictures.

The article concerns film censorship in Poland in the interwar period. The first detailed rules on censorship appeared in February 1919. Due to the small level of film production, these provisions related primarily to distribution and screenings. The detailed instructions for censors from 1920 cited in the text contain a long list of prohibitions concerning the presentation of scenes and images “contrary to law and public morality.” In practice, film was subject to political, moral, military, religious, and also artistic censorship. The article presents the ways to circumvent censorship guidelines used by distributors and cinema owners, as well as a critical evaluation of the activities of this institution in the eyes of film publicists.

Franz Kafka's „Trial” occupies an important place in world literature. The novel describing the struggle of the common man with an incomprehensible and oppressive system has been adapted for theatrical and film adaptations. This article focuses on two film adaptations made thirty years apart - directed by Orson Welles and directed by David Hugh Jones.
„Proces” Franza Kafki zajmuje istotne miejsce w światowej literaturze. Powieść, opisująca zmagania zwykłego człowieka z niezrozumiałym i opresyjnym systemem, doczekała się adaptacji teatralnych i filmowych. Niniejszy artykuł koncentruje się na dwóch, powstałych w odstępie trzydziestu lat, adaptacjach filmowych – w reżyserii Orsona Wellesa oraz w reżyserii Davida Hugha Jonesa.

Opis:
Optimization of cooling systems is of major importance due to the economy of cooling water and energy in thermal installations in the industry. The hydrodynamic study of the film is a prerequisite for the study of the intensity of the heat transfer during the cooling of a horizontal plate by a liquid film. This experimental work made it possible to quantify the hydrodynamic parameters by a new approach, a relation linking the thickness of the film to the velocity was found as a function of the geometrical and hydrodynamic characteristics of the sprayer. A new statistical approach has been developed for the measurement of the velocity, the liquid fluid arriving at the edge of the plate and having velocity V is spilled out like a projectile. The recovering of the liquid in tubes allowed us to quantify flow rates for different heights positions relative to the plate, statistical processing permitted us to assess the probable velocity with a margin of error.

Krótki film o zabijaniu Krzysztofa Kieślowskiego opowiada historię młodego człowieka skazanego, za dokonanie brutalnego morderstwa, na karę śmierci. Zarówno morderstwo, jak i wykonanie kary śmierci zostały przedstawione z dużym realizmem. Film jest głosem reżysera przeciwko pozbawianiu życia kogokolwiek, także w ramach zinstytucjonalizowanych mechanizmów. Dzieło, powstałe w końcu lat osiemdziesiątych, w momencie wyraźnego rozkładu totalitarnego systemu komunistycznego, spotkało się z uznaniem zachodnich krytyków filmowych. W artykule omówiono fabułę filmu, scharakteryzowano bohaterów, zaprezentowano informacje o karze śmierci w kodeksach karnych z okresu międzywojennego oraz Polski Ludowej, karze śmierci w Polsce przełomu lat osiemdziesiątych i dziewięćdziesiątych, a także poglądy na karę główną w judeochrześcijańskim kręgu kulturowym.
A Short Film About Killing of Krzysztof Kieślowski tells the story of a young man sentenced to death for brutal murder. Both the murder and the execution of the death penalty are presented with great realism. The film is the director's voice against killing anyone, also within institutionalized mechanisms. The work, created at the end of the 1980s, at a time of a clear disintegration of the totalitarian communist system, was appreciated by Western cinematography. The article discusses the plot of the film, characterizes the characters, also presents information about the death penalty in penal codes from the interwar period and People's Poland, death penalty in Poland at the turn of the 1980s and 1990s, as well as views on the main punishment in the Judeo-Christian culture.
