Opis:
A novelty dual-stator brushless doubly-fed generator (DSBDFG) with magnetic-barrier rotor structure is put forward for application in wind power. Compared with a doubly-fed induction generator, the DSBDFG has virtues of high reliability and low maintenance costs because of elimination of brush and sliprings components. Therefore, the proposed structure has tremendous potential as a wind power generator to apply in wind power. According to the operating principle of electric machine, the DSBDFG is studied in wind power application. At first, the topology, the winding connecting, the rotor structure, the power flow chart of different operating models and the variable speed capability of electric machine are discussed and analyzed. Then, a 50 kW DSBDFG is designed. Based on the principal dimension of the design electric machine, the electromagnetic characteristics of the DSBDFG with different running modes are analyzed and calculated to adopt the numerical method. From the result, it meets the requests of electromagnetic consistency and winding connecting in the design electric machine. Meanwhile, it confirms the proposed DSBDFG has the strong ability of speed regulation.

The paper proposes a newrobust fuzzy gain adaptation of the sliding mode (SMC) power control strategy for the wind energy conversion system (WECS), based on a doubly fed induction generator (DFIG), to maximize the power extracted from the wind turbine (WT). The sliding mode controller can deal with any wind speed, ingrained nonlinearities in the system, external disturbances and model uncertainties, yet the chattering phenomenon that characterizes classical SMC can be destructive. This problem is suitably lessened by adopting adaptive fuzzy-SMC. For this proposed approach, the adaptive switching gains are adjusted by a supervisory fuzzy logic system, so the chattering impact is avoided. Moreover, the vector control of the DFIG as well as the presented one have been used to achieve the control of reactive and active power of the WECS to make the wind turbine adaptable to diverse constraints. Several numerical simulations are performed to assess the performance of the proposed control scheme. The results show robustness against parameter variations, excellent response characteristics with a reduced chattering phenomenon as compared with classical SMC.

This work presents a new Fault Tolerant Control approach for a doubly fed induction generator using Iterative Learning Control when the fault occurs. The goal of this research is to apply the proposed ILC controller in conjunction with vector control for doubly fed induction generator to enhance its reliability and availability under broken rotor bars. However, the performances of classical VC control are often characterized by their inability to deal with the effects of faults. To overcome these drawbacks, a combination of VC control and iterative learning control is described. The input control signal of the VC controller is gradually regulated by the ILC harmonic compensator in order to eliminate the faults effect. The improvement of this approach related to active and reactive power ripples overshoot and response time have been explained. Which active and reactive power response time have been reduced more than 84% and 87.5 % respectively. The active and reactive power overshoots have been reduced about 45% and 35% respectively. The obtained results emphasize the efficiency and the ability of the proposed FTC to enhance the power quality in faulty condition.

The grid integration of large-scale wind power will alter the dynamic characteristics of the original system and the power distribution among synchronous machines. Meanwhile, the interaction between wind turbines and synchronous machines will affect the damping oscillation characteristics of the system. The additional damping control of traditional synchronous generators provides an important means for wind turbines to enhance the damping characteristics of the system. To improve the low frequency oscillation characteristics of wind power grid-connected power systems, this paper adds a parallel virtual impedance link to the traditional damping controller and designs a DFIG-PSS-VI controller. In the designed controller, the turbine active power difference is chosen as the input signal based on residual analysis, and the output signal is fed back to the reactive power control loop to obtain the rotor voltage quadrature component. With DigSILENT/PowerFactory, the influence of the controller parameters is analyzed. In addition, based on different tie-line transmission powers, the impact of the controller on the low-frequency oscillation characteristics of the power system is examined through utilizing the characteristic root and time domain simulation analysis.

Opis:
The control of the doubly-fed induction motor is a complex operation because of this motor characterised by a non-linear multivariable dynamics, having settings that change over time and a significant link between the mechanical component and magnetic behavior (flux) (speed and couple). This article then proposes a new strategy of a robust control of this motor, which is decoupled due to the stator flux’s direction. The proposed control is integrated with the backstepping control which based on Lyapunov theory; this approach consists in constructively designing a control law of nonlinear systems by considering some state variables as being virtual commands, and the important branch of artificial intelligence type-2 fuzzy logic. The hybrid control backstepping-fuzzy logic consists in replacing the regulators applied to the backstepping control by regulators based on type-2 fuzzy logic. This control will be evaluated by numerous simulations where there is a parametric and non-parametric variation.

This paper presents the research into the design and performance analysis of a novel five-phase doubly-fed induction generator (DFIG). The designed DFIG is developed based on standard induction motor components and equipped with a five-phase rotor winding supplied from the five-phase inverter. This approach allows the machine to be both efficient and reliable due to the ability of the five-phase rotor winding to operate during single or dual-phase failure. The paper presents the newly designed DFIG validation and verification based on the finite element analysis (FEA) and laboratory tests.

For fault detection of doubly-fed induction generator (DFIG), in this paper, a method of sliding mode observer (SMO) based on a new reaching law (NRL) is proposed. The SMO based on the NRL (NRL- SMO) theoretically eliminates system chatter caused by the reaching law and can be switched in time with system interference in terms of robustness and smoothness. In addition, the sliding mode control law is used as the index of fault detection. Firstly, this paper gives the NRL with the theoretically analyzes. Secondly, according to the mathematical model of DFIG, NRL-SMO is designed, and its analysis of stability and robustness are carried out. Then this paper describes how to choose the optimal parameters of the NRL-SMO. Finally, three common wind turbine system faults are given, which are DFIG inter-turn stator fault, grid voltage drop fault, and rotor current sensor fault. The simulation models of the DFIG under different faults is established. The simulation results prove that the superiority of the method of NRL-SMO in state tracking and the feasibility of fault detection.

Wind power has been widely used in the past decade because of its safety and cleanness. Double fed induction generator (DFIG), as one of the most popular wind turbine generators, suffers from degradation. Therefore, reliability assessment for this type of generator is of great significance. The DFIG can be characterized as a multi-state system (MSS) whose components have more than two states. However, due to the limited data and/or vague judgments from experts, it is difficult to obtain the accurate values of the states and thus it inevitably contains epistemic uncertainty. In this paper, the fuzzy universal generating function (FUGF) method is utilized to conduct the reliability assessment of the DFIG by describing the states using fuzzy numbers. First, the fuzzy states of the DFIG system’s components are defined and the entire system state is calculated based the system structure function. Second, all components’ states are determined as triangular fuzzy numbers (TFN) according to experts’ experiences. Finally, the reliability assessment of the DFIG based on the FUGF is conducted.

Opis:
Wind power integration through the voltage source converter-based high-voltage direct current (VSC-HVDC) system will be a potential solution for delivering large-scalewind power to the “Three-North Regions” of China. However, the interaction between the doubly-fed induction generator (DFIG) and VSC-HVDC system may cause the risk of subsynchronous oscillation (SSO). This paper establishes a small-signal model of the VSC based multi-terminal direct current (VSC-MTDC) system with new energy access for the problem, and the influencing factors causing SSO are analyzed based on the eigen valueanalysis method. The theoretical analysis results show that the SSO in the system is related to the wind farm operating conditions, the rotor-side controller (RSC) of the DFIG and the interaction of the controller in the VSC-MTDC system. Then, the phase lag characteristicis obtained based on the signal test method, and a multi-channel variable-parameter subsynchronous damping controller (SSDC) is designed via selecting reasonable parameters.Finally, the correctness of the theoretical analysis and the effectiveness of the multi-channelvariable-parameter SSDC are verified based on time-domain simulation.

Opis:
Water quality is an environmental priority for irrigation in rainfed agriculture. Recently, water quality has been affected by the uncontrolled disposal of wastewater, the use of chemical fertilizers in agriculture and, most significantly, by the excessive exploitation of water resources during the low season. The basin of the Maffragh in the Algerian north-east real is fed by two main rivers: Wadi El Kebir East and Bounnamoussa. From its source, the stream is continually contaminated with domestic and agricultural discharges through the tributaries causing a significant deterioration in water quality. In order to know the current state of water quality in the Maffragh basin and to determine its suitability for irrigation without any prior treatment, research has been conducted in the two streams at representative sampling points in catchment areas used for irrigating crops. To assess the quality of water and detectable compounds monitoring, laboratory methods are used. The various volumetric and colorimetric assays were carried out according to Jean Rodier. Organic parameters such as nitrites, ammonium and phosphates, were measured using a UV/VIS 6705 JENWAY spectrophotometer, at wavelengths of 543 nm, 630 nm and 880 nm respectively for nitrites, ammonium and phosphates. The BOD5 and COD parameter was measured using a DIN EN 1899-1-H51 spectrophotometer and DIN ISO15705: 2002 spectrophotometer. The performed analyses on conductivity shows oscillating values ranging between 425 and 495 μS∙cm–1 for January 2018, while for the low water level of July 2018 the conductivity varies between 433 and 796 μS∙cm–1; this parameter is determinant for water quality assessment and its use for irrigation. Beside the conductivity test, the Riverside–Wilcox diagram was applied, to combine conductivity and sodium absorption rate (SAR). The obtained results of the two seasons show satisfactory results in the applicability of the water to irrigate in the basin.

In this paper, a rotor current fault monitoring method is proposed based on a sliding mode observer. Firstly, the state-space model of the Double-Fed Induction Generator (DFIG) is constructed by vector transformation. Meanwhile, the stator voltage orientation vector control method is applied to decouple a stator and rotor currents, so as to obtain the correlation between the stator and rotor current. Furthermore, the mathematical model of stator voltage orientation is obtained. Then a state sliding mode observer (SMO) is established for the output current of the rotor of the DFIG. The stability and reachability of the system in a limited time is proved. Finally, the system state is determined by the residuals of the measured and estimated rotor currents. The simulation results show that the method proposed in this paper can effectively monitor the status: a normal state, voltage drop faults, short-circuit faults between windings, and rotor current sensor faults which have the advantages of fast response, high stability.

Significance of geological and geomorphological conditions for development and the contemporary state of peatlands in the Nida Basin. Prz. Geol., 68:135-144; doi: 10.7306/2020.6 Abstract. Synthetic studies of biogenic deposits made on a regional scale reveal how the geological structure and land relief have been affecting the development of limnic and peat sediments. The research was made in the Nida Basin, which is the region of great diversity of natural landscape in southern Poland and has a relatively large area of peatlands. The conclusions have been based on SRTM interpretation, hydrogeological documentations of deposits near Busko-Zdrój, and field and laboratory works. The spring-fed fen at Zwierzyniec, along with the fen at Mikulowice, has been forming on the densest complexes of alkaline fens in the Małopolska Upland. The calcareous tufa includes records of chemical denudation occurring in the southern part of the Pińczów Hump in the Late Weichselian and Holocene.

The work presents a laboratory stand designed to study the wind farm model with a double fed asynchronous generator located in the Electrical Department of the Bialystok University of Technology. Properly connected station modules give the user the possibility to perform tests in various configurations and cases that may occur during the normal use of a real wind farm and in emergency conditions of the power supply network. The article presents the results of research showing the power generator asynchronous double fed during normal operation and during the occurrence of voltage dips in the power grid.
W pracy zaprezentowane zostało stanowisko laboratoryjne, znajdujące się w Wydziale Elektrycznym Politechniki Białostockiej, przeznaczone do badania modelu elektrowni wiatrowej z maszyną indukcyjną dwustronnie zasilaną. Odpowiednio połączone moduły stanowiska dają użytkownikowi możliwość wykonywania badań w różnych konfiguracjach i przypadkach mogących wystąpić podczas normalnego użytkowania rzeczywistej elektrowni wiatrowej oraz w stanach awaryjnych sieci zasilającej. W artykule przedstawione zostaną wyniki badań ukazujące moc generatora asynchronicznego dwustronnie zasilanego w stanach normalnej pracy oraz podczas występowania zapadów napięcia w sieci zasilającej.

At present, the development of modern complex objects management systems, including electric motors, must include the step of modelling studies, which allows you to obtain basic characteristics, slightly different from the real characteristics of the object. The development of an adequate model, which can simulate the system under investigation, eliminates the stage of conceptual design and significantly reduce the engineering design stage, and therefore saves time and money.
