Opis:
This paper presents a framework for the reliability characteristics estimation on the experimental data. The framework consists of the set of failures, the experimental data sources, the set of reliability characteristics, the estimation methods, the estimation goodness tests and the expert system supporting estimation and statistical inference processes. The experimental data was obtained with two main theoretical means: control theory and diagnostics. It has been observed that changes of the functioning condition potential could serve to determine the symptoms of transient (momentary) failures and the changes in the potential of the technical condition to determine the symptoms of parametric faults. Such an information is sufficient to calculate reliability characteristics before dangerous catastrophic failures occur and to calculate reliability characteristics for single object without having to deal with a numerous set of objects. The set of reliability characteristics models consists of the analysed failures combination and distribution functions used in the reliability engineering. The set of estimation methods includes analytical and numerical ones. The proposed expert system supporting estimation and statistical inference processes consists of data base (the experimental data), rule base and inferring machine.

The purpose of the paper is to present a concept of energy efficiency and financial evaluation of counter flow dryer. Energy efficiency and many other efficiency indexes of the dryer and all additional devices like heater, heat exchangers, tubing and fans are calculated. Expert system provides also the financial evaluation of the investment. Many investments could be considered. The system provides the user with suggestions about the best dryer for him/her. Expert system also enables evaluation of energy saving improvements. The energy savings for dryer installation sections are calculated. Cost savings are compared with investment value. The best energy saving project could be selected on the base of selection algorithm. Expert system could be used for existing and new-designed dryers.

Opis:
The objective of the paper is to present the issue of safety management during the construction process. Threats in the form of disturbances may occur in the preparatory phase, during the execution of the construction project and also during its operational use. The article presents the concept of applying the methodology based, among others, on Learning Bayesian Networks, Artificial Neural Networks and Support Vector Machine, which can be used for building a system for diagnostic and decision-making support at each stage of the construction process. The use of expert systems when it comes to making choices related to construction issues can bring many benefits to decision-makers, as it reduces the risk of taking a wrong decision, and, thus, increases the construction process safety.

Fuzzy logic is a useful tool when assessing the existing reinforced concrete structures. The introduction of expert system in assessing the technical condition of the existing structures built on the fuzzy logic represents a transition to a new and higher-quality level for the survey of constructions sites. As a result, it is seen that the assessment of the existing building with the usage of the proposed expert system complies with the estimation of the qualified experts.

W artykule przedstawiono propozycję modelu bazy wiedzy o ilości mieszanki energetycznej dla systemu ekspertowego. Przeprowadzono wielokrotnie dwuetapową klasyfikację próbek węgla znajdujących się w bazie danych i wskazano optymalny ich podział. Dla 7x3 klas węgla przedstawiono wiedzę do prognozy ilości mieszanki energetycznej. Wskazano przykładowe funkcje systemu ekspertowego wykorzystującego utworzoną wiedzę.
A model of a knowledge base about a quantity of the energy mixture for an expert system has been presented in the paper. The two-stage classifications of coal samples included in the data base have been made many times and then their optimal classifying has been given. Knowledge about prediction of a quantity of the energy mixture has been presented for the 7x3 coal categories. The exemplary functions of the expert system in which the created knowledge has been applied, has been shown in the paper.

Artificial intelligence is a field that has been rapidly developing in various areas of knowledge in recent years. Its application in medicine can support the intensive development of research in health care and improve and ac-celerate the operation of many medical facilities. This article presents sev-eral examples of expert systems that can find application in diagnosing and preparing a patient for selected tests. Expert systems can also find appli-cation in the rapid selection of rehabilitation, medical or support equip-ment and devices with which medical facilities are supplied. In this article, the reader will also find a sample application that will perform this func-tion. The article presents the elements of which a correct expert system should consist. For each application, tests have been carried out to show the correctness of the system. The purpose of the article was to show the capabilities of the expert system and its application in medical fields.

This article presented the hypothesis that expert systems can extend traditional economic modelling. Before this hypothesis was examined, expert systems were specified and example swere given. Expert systems use a knowledge base, often of the form of “if A, then B” rules. It has been highlighted that expert systems have not as often been applied in economics as in other disciplines, like medicine or business science. A SWOT analysis for the stated hypothesis was conducted. Based on this qualitative analysis, the hypothesis was not rejected. An expert system for supporting inflation forecasts will be built in the nearer future.
W niniejszym artykule postawiono hipotezę, że system ekspercki może rozszerzyć tradycyjne podejście modelowe w ekonomii, a także, że systemy te z powodzeniem możemy zastosować do problemów ekonomicznych. Zanim przetestowano hipotezę przedstawiono przykłady zastosowań systemu eksperckiego oraz wykazano, w jaki sposób korzysta ów system z bazy wiedzy. System ten w wielu przypadkach opiera się na warunku, „jeżeli A to B”. Zaznaczono także, że stosowanie systemu eksperckiego jest nieporównywalnie mniej popularne w ekonomii niż w medycynie czy w praktyce biznesowej. Przeprowadzono analizę SWOT w celu weryfikacji hipotezy. Wyniki analizy jakościowej nie pozwalają odrzucić hipotezy, system ekspercki pozwala zmniejszyć niepewność zmiennych ekonomicznych, gdy tylko dostarczymy jemu rzetelną bazę wiedzy. System ekspercki także pomógłby w prognozowaniu inflacji, dlatego ciekawym rozwinięciem powyższych rozważań byłaby budowa systemu eksperckiego wspomagająca prognozowanie inflacji.

This paper analyzes the behaviour of a fuzzy expert system for evaluating the dependence among successive operator actions, through a sensitivity analysis on the fuzzy input partitioning and assessment. Preliminary results are presented with respect to a case study concerning two successive tasks of an emergency procedure in a nuclear reactor. Work is in progress to perform a thorough sensitivity analysis to generalize the results obtained.

W artykule została przedstawiona problematyka związana z wybranymi aspektami tworzenia systemu wspomagającego decyzje optymalizujące rozwój marginalnych obszarów wiejskich. Prezentowany tutaj, oparty na systemach informacji przestrzennej, system wspomagania decyzji może stanowić doskonałe narzędzie ułatwiające opracowywanie strategii rozwoju marginalnych obszarów wiejskich, pomagające zaoszczędzić czas i pieniądze, a przede wszystkim umożliwiające wdrożenie zasad zrównoważonego rozwoju, dzięki swoim zdolnościom do wyznaczania długoterminowych symulacji efektu ludzkiego oddziaływania na środowisko. Może też być pomocny w wyznaczaniu kierunków rozwoju restrukturyzowanych obszarów wiejskich, w ocenie efektów programów ochronnych, programów wspierających czy też programów łagodzących socjalne i ekonomiczne problemy. Technologia GIS stanowi w tym systemie naturalną ramę dostarczającą dogodnego sposobu analizowania i reprezentowania informacji powiązanej z komponentami przestrzennymi oraz architektury, zarządzania danymi, pozwalającą integrować ekstremalnie różne typy informacji oraz wiedzę ogólną ze szczegółową. Najważniejszym elementem prezentowanego systemu wspomagania decyzji jest połączony z systemem informacji geograficznej system ekspertowy, pozwalający przechowywać w formie reguł skomplikowaną wiedzę o procesach przyrodniczych, ekonomicznych i społecznych, która przy zastosowaniu specjalnie opracowanego algorytmu jest łączona z wiedzą o formach przyrodniczych i antropogenicznych przechowywaną w specjalnie zaprojektowanej bazie danych. Niniejszy artykuł stanowi studium, w którym przedstawiono opis poszczególnych elementów sytemu i zasadność wyboru prezentowanych rozwiązań.
This article presents issues related to the development of a system supporting decision-making concerning optimization of development of marginalized rural areas. The described decision-making support system, based on the spatial information systems, could constitute a perfect tool for facilitating the preparation of developmental strategies of marginalized rural areas, for saving money and time and above all for the implementation of the sustainable development principles and for determining long-term simulations of the human effect on the environment. This system can also help in the determination of the developmental directions of restructured rural areas and in the evaluation of the effectiveness of the following types of programs: protective, support or easing of social and economic problems. The GIS technology in this system constitutes a natural frame which provides a comfortable method of analysis and representation of information connected with the spatial and architectural components, data management, allowing the integration of extremely different types of information as well as detailed and general knowledge. The expert system connected with the geographic information system is the most important element of the described decision-making support system. It allows to store complicated knowledge on the natural, economic and social processes in the form of rules. Using a specially developed algorithm, this knowledge is combined with knowledge of natural and anthropogenic forms stored in a specially designed database. This study describes the particular elements of the system and justifies the selection of the presented solutions.

Artykuł przedstawia opis autorskiego systemu elektronicznego przeznaczonego do oceny kondycji rodzin pszczelich. Opisano architekturę systemu, urządzenie rejestrujące dźwięki w ulu oraz podzespoły elektroniczne przeznaczone do pomiarów parametrów środowiska. System ma rejestrować dźwięki wytwarzane przez pszczoły i na tej podstawie ocenić stan rodziny pszczelej. Przeprowadzona ocena statystyczna wybranych dźwięków pozwala wysnuć wniosek, że możliwe będzie wykorzystanie metod analitycznych do ich identyfikacji.
The paper contains a description of the intended analysis of sounds produced by bees. The system consists of electronic parts placed in a hive. The block diagram of the device shown in Figure 2 and its view in Figure 3. An electronic component is used for recording and audio processing. The processed sound is extracted knowledge of the behavior of bees. The results of calculations are sent via a local network to the database. An expert system interprets the collected data and sends it to the user. The system diagram is shown in Figure 1. Preliminary analyzes show a great diversity of sound depending on a situation in the hive. Figure 7 shows the spectrogram of the sound produced by the mother bee. Simple statistics show the differences in the density distribution of the signal. A success will be to create diagnostic tools. The second objective is to develop analytical methods for identifying the behavior of bee colonies. The research work focuses on assessing the possibility of automating the process of interpretation of the sounds produced by bees. The combination of electronic devices and analytical methods aims at creating an expert system supporting the work of man.

The paper presents the conception of knowledge management system for a diagnostic expert system. Development of knowledge management system is necessary during the construction of the expert system. The most important reason is that knowledge in this system is not a static whole, but is subject to dynamic growth, is modified and updated. Advantages afforded by the creation of diagnostic systems based on knowledge, such as expert systems, compared to traditional diagnostic systems based on closed algorithms were characterized. The conception of knowledge management system established in the diagnostic work associated with the development of expert system for marine diesel engine diagnosis. The main elements of the developed management system are: dictionary editor, rule editor, knowledge assessment module and import and export module. Knowledge management system is also equipped with an electronic form that is used to obtain knowledge from experts, specialists in diesel engines operation. The article presents the tasks and the performance of individual components of the system. The knowledge management system enables integration within a single frame of both information collected from experts and automatically collected one. A doubtless advantage of expert system is the opportunity of updating and developing the content recorded in the database. Due to this feature, the effectiveness of the system may grow during engine operation and facilitate gaining new experience.

The ubiquitousness of information systems means that more and more areas of the company's activity are moving into the virtual sphere. IT systems take over most of the complicated tasks performed by people, which has a positive impact on time and costs incurred for the implementation of these tasks. One of the areas in which IT systems are used is the area of financial management, and thus the management of the financial condition of the unit. This article aims to test the suitability of expert systems as tools that can support the analysis and assessment of the financial condition of business units. The theoretical part discusses the essence of IT systems, theoretical foundations of expert systems and their advantages and disadvantages. The research part shows the use of an expert system to conduct the analysis of the financial condition of selected enterprises based on data from the financial statements of these units from 2015. The expert system provided information on the financial condition of selected companies. These results were compared with the results of the analysis carried out in the traditional way. This confirmed the author's assumption that it is possible to replace the financial analysis carried out with traditional methods by using a properly prepared expert system.

Opis:
Free-electron laser FLASH (260-meter-long machine) is a pilot facility for the forthcoming XFEL (3 km). Along with growth of the experiment, service and maintenance are becoming so complex that certain degree of automation seems to be inevitable. The main purpose of the automation software is to facilitate operators with computer-aided supervision of several hardware/software subsystems. The efforts presented in this contribution concern elaboration of general framework for designing and development of automation software for the FLASH. The toolkit facilitates specification, implementation, testing and formal verification. The ultimate goal of the framework is to systematize the way of automation software development and to improve its dependability. At present usefulness of the tools is being evaluated by testing the automation software for single RF-power station of the FLASH.

The article presents the concept of automated final process of aircraft taxiing to the gate at the terminal. On the basis of an analysis of the possibilities of aircraft taxiing in civil airports, the authors attempted at optimizing this process. The main objective of the project is to reduce the taxiing time, consequently reducing fuel consumption as well as the rotation time. As a result of the work, the authors designed a controller based on fuzzy logic, which, depending on the initial parameters, calculates the set values for the execution system of aircraft control in the horizontal plane and for the taxi speed. The controller receives two input signals, which determine two output signals. The designed controller allows comprehensive and fully automated aircraft steering. The project relies on data with regard to the apron class D, suited to handle aircraft with a wingspan of up to 52 m and the characteristics of a Boeing 767-200 in speed taxiing and the maximum turn of the nose gear. The measurements of the apron have been adopted in accordance with international regulations in the ICAO DOC 9157 “Aerodrome Design Manual”. The maximum deviation of the nose gear from the centre line was assumed 2.5 m in each direction and a safe distance behind the immobile aircraft equal to 25 m. The length of the Boeing aircraft 767-200 is below 48 m, therefore the input boundary parameters are equal to +/- 2.5 m from the centre line and 80 m from the designated aircraft stand (nose gear). The article presents the project of the controller and its optimization. The authors simulated the controller operation in the package MATLAB “Simulink”. The article ends with data analysis and final conclusions.

The article presents selected problems in the synthesis of the database of expert diagnostic system of gas turbine blades in the field of non-destructive testing. The source of data is optical methods and computed tomography methods. Optical tests can be carried out on the blades of the turbine built in the engine and after their disassembly. Optical tests provide diagnostic information in the form of an image of the blade surface. This makes it possible to identify damage based on changes in the attributes of the image of the blade surface. Computer tomography methods are applied on disassembled blades. Assessment of the technical condition of the blade is made on the basis of individual two-dimensional X-ray scans or on the basis of a three-dimensional image of the blade generated by the computer software from the set of X-ray scans taken during the full angle rotation. The computed tomography data set includes a small number of points on the timeline of operation; hence, the correlation of results with optical methods is difficult. Integration of diagnostic data from two or more sources into one expert system requires standardization of data. One possible approach is the use of multi-valued encoding of 2D and 3D image attributes. In this way a multivalued diagnostic model of the blade is obtained, which can be processed by information theory methods to optimize the set of attributes.

The aim of the project was to create a computer program, an expert system (ES), which would support physicians when a management for patients with acute coronary syndrome needs to be chosen. A knowledge database was created with the support of clinical experts, based on the current management standards. Data from new patients are added to the case database. The inference engine integrates two types of reasoning rule-based and case-based. The ES gives unambiguous and objective answers, its recommendation are reliable. At present, the ES is tested in clinical practice. Strategies recommended by the ES are compared with the management applied in a clinic.

Opis:
Consolidation works are a complicated and lengthy set of legal, technical and administrative operations. IT tools used in this process are developed in many countries, and the scope of their functions is very wide: from a decision-making aid, through support in solving technical aspects, to assisting the evaluation of the effects of consolidation projects. Practically all existing solutions are based on GIS systems, which has many advantages but also imposes some limitations related to supporting typically geodetic aspects of these works. The article presents a differ¬ent approach to implementing this kind of projects, which is based on CAD platform. It is used as an aid in various stages of land consolidation works in more or less half of the area of Poland.
Prace scaleniowe stanowią skomplikowany i długotrwały zbiór czynności o charakterze prawnym, technicznym i administracyjnym. Informatyczne narzędzia wspomagające ten proces są rozwijane w wielu krajach, a zakres ich działania jest bardzo szeroki, od wspomagania procesu decyzyjnego, realizacji aspektów technicznych aż do oceny efektów projektów scalenia. Wśród istniejących rozwiązań praktycznie wszystkie oparte są na systemach GIS, co oprócz wielu zalet niesie ze sobą ograniczenia związane ze wspomaganiem typowo geodezyjnych aspektów tych prac. Artykuł prezentuje odmienne podejście do realizacji tego typu projektów, bazujące na platformie CAD. Jest ono wykorzystywane przy wspomaganiu szeregu etapów prac scaleniowych na około połowie obszaru Polski.

The current market conditions have led to the situation in which the companies operate in an environment in which having a certificate of quality management system is insufficient to ensure and guarantee customers’ satisfaction on one hand, and effectiveness and efficiency of the implemented pro-quality system on the other. Activities related to the identification and assessment of non-compliance are extremely important and critical in terms of achieving the desired objectives of quality management. Due to the numerous difficulties associated with these activities and the limited use of traditional methods and support tools in this regard, the authors developed the concept of the expert system in the following article. The aim of the system is to ensure effective supervision of all non-compliances arising in the operation of any organization that intends to improve the quality management systems.
Obecne uwarunkowania rynkowe sprawiły, że przedsiębiorstwa funkcjonują w otoczeniu, w którym posiadanie certyfikatu systemu zarządzania jakością jest niewystarczające do tego, aby zagwarantować z jednej strony zadowolenie klientów, a z drugiej skuteczność i efektywność wdrożonego systemu projakościowego. Niezwykle ważne i krytyczne z punktu widzenia osiągnięcia zamierzonych celów zarządzania jakością są działania związane z identyfikacją i oceną niezgodności. Z uwagi na liczne trudności związane z tymi działaniami oraz ograniczone wykorzystywanie tradycyjnych metod i narzędzi wsparcia w tym zakresie, autorki zaproponowały w niniejszym artykule koncepcję systemu ekspertowego. Celem systemu jest zapewnienie skutecznego nadzoru nad wszelkimi niezgodnościami pojawiającymi się w ramach funkcjonowania dowolnej organizacji, która zamierza doskonalić wdrożone systemy zarządzania jakością.

W referacie przedstawiono fragment systemu doradczego Diadyn. Diadyn to otwarty internetowy system doradczy. W systemie tym, do reprezentacji wiedzy zastosowano koncepcję stwierdzeń. Stwierdzenia są reprezentowane jako węzły w sieci stwierdzeń. W systemie Diadyn wiedza jest reprezentowana w postaci sieci stwierdzeń. Sam system Diadyn składa się z wielu modułów. Niektóre z nich są przeznaczone do zapisywania wiedzy. Inne służą do zapisywania objaśnień wyników przeprowadzonego wnioskowania. Do realizacji tych zadań przygotowano dwa moduły Dia_Wiki oraz Dia_Sta. Opis tych modułów przedstawiono w tym referacie.
In this paper a part of an expert system called Diadyn is presented. Diadyn is an open internet expert system. In this system the knowledge representation is based on statement concept. Statements are nodes in a statement network. Within Diadyn system the knowledge is represented by means of the statement network. The Diadyn consists of several modules. Some of them are built for coding the knowledge. The others are prepared for writing explanations of inference results. In order to perform this task, modules called Dia_Wiki and Dia_Sta are prepared. A description of this modules is presented in this paper.

The article discusses the manner of controlling the propulsion system in the aircraft Zlin 143LSi, which is equipped with a piston engine driving a variable-pitch propeller. All the operating procedures are carried out manually by the pilot in accordance with the flight manual. The authors attempted at developing the project of a controller based on fuzzy logic, whose main goal was automating the control system of the propulsion unit, thus lowering the level of difficulty of pilotage, and increasing the economics of the operation. The project was made in an interactive environment FuzzyLogic Toolbox of the MATLAB programme. In the analysis, three input parameters were taken into account, exerting an impact on changing the rotational speed of the propeller: the charging pressure of the propulsion unit expressed in inches of mercury, the speed of the aircraft (TAS) in knots and the angle of attack, at which the flight is made, expressed in degrees. On the basis of the above-mentioned input signals, the rotation speed of the propeller was determined, by changing the blade pitch and the recommended angle of attack for the parameters in order to make an optimal use of the data of the flight conditions. The article presents the project of the controller and its optimization. The authors simulated the controller operation in the package MATLAB “Simulink”. The article ends with data analysis and final conclusions.

W pracy przedstawiono podstawowe zagadnienia formalizacji wiedzy eksperckiej w tribologicznej diagnostyce układu łożyskowania lotniczego silnika turbinowego.
The paper presents the essential issues of knowledge formalisation in tribological diagnostics of turbine engine bearing systems. Knowledge consists of experimental data (optical spectroscopy, XRF, ferrography) and diagnostic parameter thresholds of four kinds of wear (normal, above normal, high, catastrophic). The fact base contains qualitative assessments of diagnostic parameters (the same as kinds of wear). Expert knowledge is formalised as a rule base. The fact and rule bases are implemented in application ESDTrib_ALLISON250 using shell expert tools SPHINX.
