    Opis:
    Since the beginning of David Cameron’s rule in the United Kingdom (2010) Eurosceptic sentiments have intensified, leading to a split in society, a referendum and, finally, Brexit. Germany was for the UK remaining in the EU, but after the referendum Germany announced the EU would negotiate hard to have its conditions met. Germany decided that Brexit provided favorable prospects for enhancing cooperation among the remaining 27 states. The most difficult negotiating items concern financial settlements between London and Brussels (ca. EUR 60 billion), the status of EU citizens employed and residing in the territory of the UK, and the North Ireland-Irish Republic border. The negotiations of a new trade agreement between the EU and the UK are also difficult.

    Europeanism exceeds the political and social mindset, it also provides the way of thinking about Europe, the Europeans, their identity, culture and homogeneity, which is paradoxically constituted on the basis of heterogeneity (“unity in diversity”). One may distinguishes two contrary approaches towards the UE: Euroscepticism and Euroenthusiasm The first orientation is very vivid in the British society and it is reflected not only in the words of politicians but also in the mood of the nation, expressed in the Brexit referendum. The latter orientation is common among Poles who enjoy the privilege of joining to the exclusive club. The European and citizenship education reflect these antagonistic approaches. The aim of the paper is an attempt to reconstruct and analyse the contemporary debate on citizenship education in the perspective of European Union. The analyse of educational trends about Europe and Europeanism is significant if Brexit is taking into the consideration.

    Opis:
    The article presents the main parties (i.e. the Conservative Party, Labor Party, Liberal Democrats and Scottish National Party) results of the 2019 UK general election as well as an analysis of the most important issues (i.e. correct identification of voters’ expectations, simplicity and clarity of the messages, leaders’ personalities) which determined each party success or loss. The author proves that since Brexit was the primary focus of voters, the level of support for particular parties remained dependent on the solutions presented in this issue. This basis explains why the Conservatives in the whole UK and the SNP in Scotland won (and the Labor Party and the Liberal Democrats lost) the battle of Brexit.

    Article describes Welsh authorities attempt to enhance their political position (achieved as a result of the devolution reform) as some sort of compensation for the Brexit negative impact on economic and social development of the region. The conception created by Carwyn Jones’ Government could not been presented as an alternative to focusing autonomous processes on gaining independence, because of Welsh people lack of interest of the latter solution. As an effect it has been completely ignored by the national authorities. Inability to implement the Scottish model of political emancipation (in the context of step-by-step exception of the European Union regional policy mechanisms in the United Kingdom) has become a factor stimulating real re-Britisation of Wales process W artykule przedstawiono podjętą przez władze walijskie próbę umocnienia swojej pozycji ustrojowej (uzyskanej w wyniku reformy dewolucyjnej) jako swoistej rekompensaty za negatywne oddziaływanie Brexitu na rozwój gospodarczy i społeczny regionu. Wysunięta przez rząd Carwyna Jonesa koncepcja nie mogła być jednak prezentowana jako alternatywa wobec ukierunkowania procesów autonomizacyjnych na osiągnięcie niepodległości, ze względu na brak zainteresowania społeczeństwa walijskiego tym drugim rozwiązaniem. W efekcie została ona całkowicie zignorowana przez władze krajowe. Niezdolność implementacji szkockiego wzorca emancypacji politycznej (w kontekście stopniowego wyłączania mechanizmów polityki regionalnej Unii Europejskiej w Wielkiej Brytanii) okazała się zatem przesłanką inicjującą proces faktycznej rebrytyzacji Walii

    W artykule dokonano analizy artykułów prasowych opublikowanych w dzienniku „The Times” prezentujących kampanię polityków brytyjskich w czerwcu 2016 r., na kilka tygodni przed referendum. Przedstawiono dominującą tematykę tych artykułów. Cztery najczęstsze hasła to: „opinia międzynarodowa”, „gospodarka” oraz „przyszłość po Brexicie” i „imigracja”. W zakończeniu poruszono m.in. kwestię wpływu Brexitu na politykę społeczną.
    The paper presents the analysis of the coverage of political campaign both in favour and against leaving the EU by the British journal „The Times”. The author focuse on June 2016, i.e. last weeks of the campaign and a week after the referendum. The Leavists (Leave, Vote Leave), politicians fostering Brexit were mostly focused on immigration. Their opponents, the Remainers (Remain, Britain Stronger in Europe) were either showing the positive contribution of the EU into Britain or presenting the negative possibilities and scenarios after Brexit. The Author also reviews and analyses the collected writings and selected the “topics of the day”, the most popular theme in each daily issue in June 2016. The three most popular topics were: “international judgment”, “economy” and “future after Brexit” (with “immigration” as joint third place). The Author also raises the topic of Brexit inflfl uence on social (and public) policy of the United Kingdom.

    Developing countries are playing an increasingly important role in the trade of the European Union (EU) as well as the United Kingdom (UK). The decision of the UK regarding leaving the EU and the already opened negotiations may also affect the relations with selected developing countries. The aim of the paper is to present the existing relations of the European Union (hypothetically without Great Britain) and Great Britain with developing countries. A starting point for the research is a review of literature on the relationships between Brexit and trade. In the empirical part, based on the collected statistical material and calculated basic foreign trade indicators, a trade analysis by regions and countries was performed. Further, countries were grouped according to their share in total exports and imports. The study of the potential impact of Brexit on the trade exchange of the EU with the developing countries has shown stronger links between the UK and the selected group of states in comparison to the grouping. The form of regulation of relations between the European Union and the developing countries taken into account in the study is characterized by considerable diversification, however, it is necessary to take further steps leading to strengthening the EU’s position on the global market after the United Kingdom leaves the integration grouping.
    Kraje rozwijające się odgrywają coraz większą rolę w wymianie handlowej Unii Europejskiej, jak i Wielkiej Brytanii. Decyzja Zjednoczonego Królestwa w sprawie Brexitu i rozpoczęte już negocjacje mogą także wpływać na kształt relacji z tą grupą państw. Celem artykułu jest przedstawienie dotychczasowych relacji Unii Europejskiej (hipotetycznie bez Wielkiej Brytanii) i Wielkiej Brytanii z krajami rozwijającymi się. Punktem wyjścia do przeprowadzonych badań jest przegląd literatury dotyczącej związków pomiędzy Brexitem a wymianą handlową. W części empirycznej w oparciu zebrany materiał statystyczny i obliczone podstawowe wskaźniki handlu zagranicznego przeprowadzono analizę wymiany handlowej w ujęciu regionalnym dla obu badanych podmiotów, a następnie pogrupowano kraje wg ich udziału w eksporcie i imporcie ogółem. Badanie potencjalnego wpływu Brexitu na wymianę handlową Unii Europejskiej z krajami rozwijającymi się wykazało silniejsze powiązania Wielkiej Brytanii z badaną grupą państw w porównaniu do ugrupowania. Uwzględnione w badaniu formy uregulowania relacji Unii Europejskiej z krajami rozwijającymi się charakteryzują się znacznym zróżnicowaniem, jednak konieczne jest dalsze podejmowanie działań prowadzących do wzmocnienia pozycji na globalnym rynku po wyjściu Zjednoczonego Królestwa z ugrupowania.
