    Opis:
    In recent years, in particular after 2015, tenths of thousands of unaccompanied children have arrived in Europe, mostly in Greece and Italy, escaping from war, conflicts and other hardships they were faced with in their countries of origin. A considerable number of them are very young (under 14 years) and extremely vulnerable. The challenge for Europe, in line with the obligations deriving from UNCRC, is to offer them a safe, appropriate environment to live and to carefully examine and protect all their rights, including their protection from violence and exploitation and access to education, health and social participation. In this direction and following EU action plans and decisions, European states are expected to further share responsibilities, collaborate and take all appropriate measures to fully protect the rights of these children.

    After the 1979 revolution, Europe’s policy of engaging Iran differed from the American approach. The circumstances changed in 2002, when the international community learnt about the undeclared nuclear sites at Arak and Natanz, as well as the scale of the Iranian nuclear program. The situation became even more complex when Mahmoud Ahmadinejad came to power in 2005. From that moment on, the European Union has changed its attitude toward Iran. Moreover, after Mahmoud Ahmadinejad had been re-elected under controversial circumstances in 2009, the EU intensified sanctions against Iran, even in such cases when they were divergent from member states’ interests. Bilateral affairs began to normalize after the presidential victory of Hassan Rouhani in 2013. Two years later, the EU and other powers from the P5+1 group signed the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action with Iran. Has the signing of the JCPOA had any impact on Iran-EU political relations as far as non-nuclear related issues are concerned? In order to answer this question, one has to analyze their political relations prior to and after the signing of the deal. Selected political aspects are taken into consideration, including proliferation related issues, attitudes toward changes in the Arab world, regional conflicts, especially in Syria and Yemen, combating the so-called Islamic State, humanitarian aid to undocumented Afghan refugees, as well as civil liberties and human rights violations in Iran.

    Spalanie paliw kopalnych przenika całą naszą gospodarkę: elektrownie węglowe i gazowe, pojazdy na ropę, ogrzewanie gazem ziemnym i węglem. Żyjemy w takim świecie od zawsze, przyzwyczailiśmy się do tego, jak on działa. A teraz nagle okazuje się, że musimy od nich prawie całkowicie odejść, na dodatek nadzwyczaj szybko, w 30 lat redukując ich spalanie prawie do zera. Trzymanie się utrwalonych wzorców myślenia i działania nie doprowadzi nas do tego celu. Potrzebujemy zmiany mentalności i innowacji pozwalających na szybką, głęboką i powszechną przebudowę infrastruktury. W artykule przyjrzymy się bliżej megatrendom energetyczno- -klimatycznym oraz celowi, do którego dążymy, zgodnie z Porozumieniem Paryskim i politykami Europejskiego Zielonego Ładu. Przyjrzymy się też, jak będzie wyglądał kształtujący się nowy system energetyczny bez paliw kopalnych i jakie to będzie miało implikacje dla budynków czy transportu. Zastanowimy się też, jak to zrobić, od czego zacząć, i co spośród miriad rzeczy do zrobienia jest najważniejsze.
    The burning of fossil fuels runs through our entire economy: coal and gas power stations, oil-powered vehicles, natural gas and coal heating. We’ve lived in this kind of world forever and have become accustomed to how it works. And now, suddenly, we find ourselves having to move away from them almost entirely, and reduce their combustion almost to zero in 30 years. Sticking to established patterns of thinking and acting will not get us there. We need a shift in thinking and innovation that allows for rapid, deep and widespread infrastructure rebuilding. In this article we will take a closer look at the energy and climate megatrends and the goal we are aiming for, in line with the Paris Agreement and European Green Deal policies. We will also look at what the emerging new fossil fuel-free energy system will look like and what implications this will have for buildings or transport. We will also consider how to do it, where to start, and what, among a myriad of things to do, is most important.
