Opis:
In this paper, the optical image encryption scheme based on the double random phase encoding system is modified by introducing a nonlinear digital image pre-encryption coupled with a real to complex conversion. It consists in performing the bit-wise XOR operation recursively between successive pixels of an input image together with chaotic scrambling in the spatial domain. The resulting real-valued pre-encrypted image is halved into two equal parts, one being considered as the real part and the other one as an imaginary part. The complex image thus constructed by concatenating the two previous parts, passes into the second stage of the double random phase encoding where it will be multiplied by a random phase mask and then transformed into a frequency domain by the two-dimensional Fourier transform or any of its derivatives to obtain the encrypted image.The advantage of halving is to save the same information and reduce the size of encrypted imageto store or transmit a single complex image instead of double as in all existing based double random phase encoding methods. Results of computer simulations prove the effectiveness of the proposed method toward different attacks and confirm its security when compared to existing works, especially in terms of key sensitivity and histogram analysis.

Opis:
This article contributes to the emerging literature on digital encryption as a political issue by focusing on the way in which debates about encryption are embedded in a broader security discourse. Drawing on empirical material from Germany, this article shows how debates on encryption bring its ambiguous nature to the fore. Encryption is seen as both a threat and a source of protection, it thus becomes clear that technology only acquires its political meaning in discourse. Furthermore, I show that security is discussed in terms of uncertainty, risks and complexity. The article concludes by arguing that this prevailing idea of security as risk leads to security measures that attempt to deal with complexity by involving a variety of actors, making multi-stakeholder approaches as a solution more plausible.

We discuss the challenge of achieving an auditable key management for cryptographic access control to high-value sensitive data. In such settings it is important to be able to audit the key management process - and in particular to be able to provide verifiable proofs of key generation. The auditable key management has several possible use cases in both civilian and military world. In particular, the new regulations for protection of sensitive personal data, such as GDPR, introduce strict requirements for handling of personal data and apply a very restrictive definition of what can be considered a personal data. Cryptographic access control for personal data has a potential to become extremely important for preserving industrial ability to innovate, while protecting subject’s privacy, especially in the context of widely deployed modern monitoring, tracking and profiling capabilities, that are used by both governmental institutions and high-tech companies. However, in general, an encrypted data is still considered as personal under GDPR and therefore cannot be, e.g., stored or processed in a public cloud or distributed ledger. In our work we propose an identity-based cryptographic framework that ensures confidentiality, availability, integrity of data while potentially remaining compliant with the GDPR framework.

The main target is to analyze symmetrical and asymmetrical algorithms, test them how much time encryptionand key generation operations take. Tests were carried out on various devices with the same version of operating system.

Opis:
An image compression and encryption algorithm by combining the advanced encryption standard (AES) with the hyper-chaotic system is designed, in which Arnold map is employed to eliminate part of the block effect in the image compression process. The original image is compressed with the assistance of a discrete cosine transform and then its transform coefficients are encrypted with the AES algorithm. Besides, the hyper-chaotic system is adopted to introduce the nonlinear processfor image encryption. Numerical simulations and theoretical analyses demonstrate that the proposed image compression and encryption algorithm is of high security and good compression performance.

Based on Chebyshov polynomials, one can create an asymmetric cryptosystem that allows for secure communication. Such a cryptosystem is based on the fact that these polynomials form a semi-group due to the composition operation. This article presents two new cryptosystems based on modifications of Chebyshev's polynomials. The presented analysis shows that their security is the same as in the case of algorithms associated with the problem of discrete logarithms. The article also shows methods that allow for the faster calculation of Chebyshev polynomials.

The paper discusses the main threats to information security in TETRA system and describes the standard countermeasures, which include: authentication between the network infrastructure and mobile equipment, encryption of information transferred over the air interface both in trunked mode and in direct mode, secure management of cipher keys, remote disabling and enabling of terminals, a mechanism to support the synchronization of ,,end-to-end'' encryptions. Additionally, the issues of lawful interception have been presented.

Opis:
In order to simplify the optical setup and the encryption process, a diffractive-imaging-based optical encryption system using a single diffraction pattern is proposed. A predesigned binary mask is placed before the plaintext in the encryption process, and three randomly distributed phase only masks are placed in the optical path. Only one diffraction pattern needs to be recorded as ciphertext by CCD. In the decryption process, an iterative phase retrieval algorithm is applied, in which the predesigned binary mask acts as a support constraint in the input plane. After the iterative process, an interpolation operation for the zero-valued pixels is also implemented. The effectiveness and robustness of the proposal are demonstrated by numerical simulation results.

Głównym zadaniem omówionym w niniejszej publikacji było przygotowanie stanowiska laboratoryjnego do badania poufności przetwarzanej informacji. W pierwszej części artykułu przedstawiono porównanie możliwości dwóch programów o licencji otwartej - narzędzi służących do szyfrowania, realizujących szyfrowanie z wykorzystaniem szyfru blokowego AES. W części drugiej opisane zostało działanie dwóch programów stworzonych w C++ na potrzeby stanowiska laboratoryjnego. Pierwszy realizuje szyfrowanie klasyczne, przestawieniowe, drugi do szyfrowania używa operacji XOR.
The main task discussed in this publication was to prepare a laboratory stand to investigate the confidentiality of information processed. The first part of the article presents a comparison of the possibilities of two open license programs - encryption tools that implement encryption with the use of AES block cipher. The second part describes the operation of two programs created in C++ for the needs of the laboratory workstation. The first one performs classic, changeable encryption, the second one uses XOR operation for encryption.

In this paper Quaternion Feistel Cipher (QFC) with an infinite key space based on quaternion Julia sets is proposed. The basic structure of the algorithm is based on the scheme proposed in 2012 by Sastry and Kumar. The proposed algorithm uses special properties of quaternions to perform rotations of data sequences in 3D space for each of the cipher rounds. It also uses Julia sets to form an infinite key space. The plaintext is divided into two square matrices of equal size and written using Lipschitz quaternions. A modular arithmetic was implemented for operations with quaternions. A computer-based analysis has been carried out and obtained results are shown at the end of this paper.

In the paper the ID-based digital signatures with signer's protection in case of the private key compromising is investigated. The proposed protocols have two main ingredients. First is the application of the credential system for the suitable verification key approval. Nowadays, information security management systems are important parts of managing a system for better handling of the information security. In scenarios and situations where safety management is done by managing protection of malwares, it is important to manage security issues properly. Cryptography is an approach which makes possible for a recipient to encrypt and decrypt the information. A combination of two different strategies for encryption and decryption in the text encoding will be transformed into the used all content. The encryption and decryption key of the content decryption key is used. There are different types of information. A number, such as finding two large prime numbers with that product. The number, the size of the RSA key is large enough to make, it's hard to pinpoint these numbers. The key, known as the RSA public key, is the most prominent open encryption. Calculations were used for information exchange. In this paper, we created a program for simulation and testing of apply cryptography of Advance Encryption Standard (AES) algorithm with Rivest-Shamir-Adleman (RSA) algorithm for better performance. In this study, this program is an application of a new algorithm to be the AES&RSA principle of using a public key instead of a private key for cryptography, and the testing of encryption and decryption for the AES&RSA algorithm resulted in time is no different on the AES algorithm and more secure encryption and decryption. The results indicated that the time needed for encoding and decoding of AES&RSA algorithm has been reduced (i.e., efficiency has been improved).

This study investigates Thomas’ cyclically symmetric attractor dynamics with mathematical and electronic simulations using a proportional fractional derivative to comprehend the dynamics of a given chaotic system. The three-dimensional chaotic flow was examined in detail with Riemann-Liouville derivative for different values of the fractional index to highlight the sensitivity of chaotic systems with initial conditions. Thus, the dynamics of the fractional index system were investigated with Eigenvalues, Kaplan-Yorke dimension, Lyapunov exponent, and NIST testing, and their corresponding trajectories were visualized with phase portraits, 2D density plot, and Poincaré maps. After obtaining the results, we found that the integer index dynamics are more complex than the fractional index dynamics. Furthermore, the chaotic system circuit is simulated with operational amplifiers for different fractional indices to generate analog signals of the symmetric attractor, making it an important aspect of engineering. The qualitative application of our nonlinear chaotic system is then applied to encrypt different data types such as voice, image, and video, to ensure that the developed nonlinear chaotic system can widely applied in the field of cyber security.

Mobile phone may become the protagonist of the new electronic technology. If we compare it with that of other technologies, the infiltration rate of mobile phones in the world is extremely high, both in cities than rural communities of the most of the countries. According to estimates made by the International Telecommunication Union the access to mobile networks is growing much faster than the access to Internet. This emergence has led many companies to allow new activities which were previously running strictly over the Internet to run over the mobile network such as the electronic payment. These circumstances make the security of mobile communication a priority to preserve the authentication, confidentiality and integrity of data sent between subscribers and mobile network. In this paper, we propose a dynamic key generation for the A5 GSM encryption algorithm to enforce the security and protect the transferred data. Our algorithm can be implemented over any GSM generation GSM/3G/4G.

Due to increase in threats posed by offshore foundries, the companies outsourcing IPs are forced to protect their designs from the threats posed by the foundries. Few of the threats are IP piracy, counterfeiting and reverse engineering. To overcome these, logic encryption has been observed to be a leading countermeasure against the threats faced. It introduces extra gates in the design, known as key gates which hide the functionality of the design unless correct keys are fed to them. The scan tests are used by various designs to observe the fault coverage. These scan chains can become vulnerable to side-channel attacks. The potential solution for protection of this vulnerability is obfuscation of the scan output of the scan chain. This involves shuffling the working of the cells in the scan chain when incorrect test key is fed. In this paper, we propose a method to overcome the threats posed to scan design as well as the logic circuit. The efficiency of the secured design is verified on ISCAS’89 circuits and the results prove the security of the proposed method against the threats posed.

We report an optical asymmetric scheme for double-image encryption and authentication based on interference using sparse representation. We employ sparse representation and interference to process the Fresnel spectra related with the two original images, and then respectively acquire two ciphertexts and two pairs of private keys. Each original image possesses its corresponding two private keys. Furthermore, the decrypted image is compared with its corresponding plaintext with the aid of a nonlinear correlation for authentication. In the proposed scheme, any information concerning each primary image and comprising its silhouette cannot be recognized even though one, two, or even three masks of the two ciphertexts and two private keys are utilized for decryption. The Fresnel spectrum functions which have different diffraction distances enhance the security of the proposal significantly. Moreover, the proposal also avoids the crosstalk problem. The effectiveness and security of this proposed method are demonstrated via numerical simulations.

The audio file is recorded as a vector and converted to a two-dimensional array to act as an image or a sound map. This sound map is encrypted using the image encryption algorithm proposed in this paper. The proposed cryptosystem is validated for both audios and grayscale images. Fresnel parameters and the two private keys obtained from QR decomposition and random modulus decomposition (RD) form the key space. Computer-based reproductions have been carried out to prove the validity and authenticity of the scheme. Simulation results authenticate that the scheme is robust and efficient against various attacks and is sensitive to input parameters.

The AES is a standard encryption algorithm used in numerous cryptographic systems like smart cards, TPMs as well as in protocols like WPA2 or OpenSSL. Measuring the robustness of AES implementations against physical attacks is of utmost import-ance in order to guarantee the security of the system into which the AES is used. In this article, we describe how a hardware AES, embedding countermeasures against physical attacks, has been characterized using a laser. With the latter, we tried to implement a class of physical attacks called fault attacks which, when successful, allows an attacker to retrieve the secret key used by the AES module. Our experiments have allowed us to validate the efficiency of some of the countermeasures implemented in this AES implementation and have given us hints on how to further improve them.
AES to standardowy algorytm szyfrowania stosowany w wielu systemach kryptograficznych, np. kartach elektronicznych, TPM, oraz takich protokołach, jak WPA2 czy OpenSSL. Pomiar odporności implementacji algorytmu AES na ataki fizyczne jest najważniejszy do zapewnienia bezpieczeństwa systemowi opartemu na AES. W artykule opisano, jak sprzętowa implementacja AES z wbudowanymi zabezpieczeniami przeciwko fizycznym atakom była badana z wykorzystaniem lasera. Następnie podjęto próby zaimplementowania ataków fizycznych polegających na wstrzykiwaniu błędów; ataki te - zakończone sukcesem - pozwalają atakującemu na przechwycenie tajnego klucza wykorzystywanego w module AES. Przeprowadzone eksperymenty pozwoliły na sprawdzenie efektywności zabezpieczeń zaimplementowanych w module sprzętowym AES oraz wskazały możliwości dalszego podniesienia poziomu bezpieczeństwa.

The family of algebraic graphs A(n;K) defined over the finite commutative ring K were used for the design of different multivariate cryptographical algorithms (private and public keys, key exchange protocols). The encryption map corresponds to a special walk on this graph. We expand the class of encryption maps via the use of an automorphism group of A(n;K). In the case of characteristic 2 the encryption transformation is a Boolean map. We change finite field for the commutative ring of characteristic 2 and consider some modifications of algorithm which allow to hide a ground commutative ring.

Cyber attacks against cloud computing discourage users to migrate to cloud computing. Cloud computing currently has weaknesses in terms of securing data. Unprotected data and weak storage security are potential threats to cloud computing. There are security risks and they should be considered carefully before enterprises migrate to cloud computing. Specifying cloud computing vulnerabilities and defining cyber attacks against infrastructure of the Cloud are the targets of this research. Mitigation of the non-technical problems may decrease the security problems. However, cryptographies, distributed denial of service and flooding attacks damage the servers and services. In this research, my aim is to demonstrate cloud computing vulnerability and the threats against data and storage. Once the cloud security problems are defined, the next step is to look for a solution. Using forensic methods to inspect intrusion attempts, implementing an online forensic workstation monitoring the login details of cloud authentication server, providing evidence of cyber crime are recommended.

Opis:
Based on compressive sensing and log operation, a new image compression-encryption algorithm is proposed, which accomplishes encryption and compression simultaneously. The proposed image compression-encryption algorithm takes advantage of not only the physical realizability of partial Hadamard matrix, but also the resistance of the chosen-plaintext attack since all the elements in the partial Hadamard matrix are 1, –1 or log 1 = 0. The proposed algorithm is sensitive to the key and it can resist various common attacks. The simulation results verify the validity and reliability of the proposed image compression-encryption algorithm.

W artykule przedstawiono wyniki badań dotyczących implementacji algorytmu szyfrującego AES-128 (Advanced Encryption Standard) w układzie FPGA (Field Programmable Gate Array) Spartan 3E. Podano opis kompletnego systemu cyfrowego, który umożliwia odbiór strumienia danych przez złącze szeregowe i ich szyfrowanie. W projekcie w istotny sposób zredukowano koszt i pobór mocy mikrosystemu dzięki zastosowa-niu układu Spartan 3E z dwoma procesorami PicoBlaze. Przedstawiono wyniki badań eksperymentalnych zaimplementowanego algorytmu pod kątem szybkości przetwarzania strumienia danych.
In this paper we present implementation of the AES-128 (Advanced Encryption Standard ) ciphering algorithm in FPGA (Field Programmable Gate Array) Spartan 3E device. The complete digital microsystem is described, which receives a data stream by serial interface, and performs real-time encryption using the AES-128 ciphering algorithm. An important feature of the developed microsystem is significantly reduced size and power dissipation of the device. It has been obtained by optimized architecture of the encryption scheme, using look-up-tables and two PicoBlaze cores. Results of experimental tests focused on the maximum data throughput are also presented.

W artykule przedstawiono budowę, działanie i wyniki badań eksperymentalnych bloku IP-core, który może równolegle szyfrować/ deszyfrować dwa strumienie danych przy użyciu algorytmu Rijndael ze 128-bitowym kluczem, dostarczanych za pośrednictwem magistrali Processor Local Bus (PLB). Podany został kompletny opis systemu składającego się z procesora MicroBlaze oraz podłączonego do niego IP-core. Dokonano pomiarów szybkości przetwarzania w zależności od wybranego trybu pracy.
The paper presents design, principle of operation and experimental results of a dedicated IP-core developed for parallel data encryption/decription of two data streams provided by the Processor Local Bus (PLB). The encryption process is based on the standardized Rijndael algorithm with an 128-bit encryption key. The algorithm is performed by two cooperating with each other PicoBlaze processors, with extended internal RAM and shared 2kB ROM. An architecture of IP-core block is shown in Fig. 2. The extended RAM stores the generated sub-keys for consecutive rounds. Using the substitution tables stored in ROM it is possible to achieve a uniform speed of data encryption and decryption. There is also proposed a special operating mode that changes the encryption key when a single data stream is processed. The detailed description of the complete digital system consisting of the IP-core and MicroBlaze processor is given. The experimental results of data encryption throughput are also presented. The comparison with similar solutions reported by other authors is discussed.

A numerous flows of data in the modern vehicle are necessary to maintain the complexity of systems included on-board. Unfortunately, along with the increase of the road security and many useful facilities there are arising vulnerabilities coming from cyberattacks and reliability of the communication systems. Because many components are based on highly advanced E/E technology, the security measures known from IT are more and more important. The data encryption mechanisms, used in IT for memory content and data transfer protection, are getting important in automotive. In the paper there are presented considerations connected with the cybersecurity of the vehicle, as a part of the transportation system, as well as the effect of the process of the production. In the article authors focused on the encryption of the communication between the tachograph device and the motion sensor. The normal operation of the interface tachograph-sensor follows the operation of pairing based on authentication and identification services. The pairing operation takes place in an authorized workshop and its goal is to check the legality of devices paired, and the so-called establishment of the session key, which contains encryption keys used for 3DES encryption. The description of data encryption for the motion sensor, presented in the article, is the example of the bunch of solutions required for the modern vehicle.

We present a novel encryption method for multiple images in a discrete multiple-parameter fractional Fourier transform scheme, using complex encoding, theta modulation and spectral fusion. All pairs of original images are encoded separately into a complex signal. The spectrum of each complex signal can then be scattered into various positions in the spectral plane and multiplexed into one spectral image with a combination of theta modulation and spectral fusion. After Fourier transforming back to the spatial domain, the multiplexed signal is encrypted in the discrete multiple-parameter fractional Fourier transform domain. Information about the original images can only be successfully decrypted given the possession of all correct keys. The parameters of chaotic pixel scrambling for the proposed method enlarge the key space. Moreover, the proposed method solves the crosstalk problem of multiple images and improves the multiplexing capacity. Numerical simulations demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed method.

In this paper, we propose an image encryption algorithm based on a permutation polynomial over finite fields proposed by the authors. The proposed image encryption process consists of four stages: i) a mapping from pixel gray-levels into finite field, ii) a pre-scrambling of pixels’ positions based on the parameterized permutation polynomial, iii) a symmetric matrix transform over finite fields which completes the operation of diffusion and, iv) a post-scrambling based on the permutation polynomial with different parameters. The parameters used for the polynomial parameterization and for constructing the symmetric matrix are used as cipher keys. Theoretical analysis and simulation demonstrate that the proposed image encryption scheme is feasible with a high efficiency and a strong ability of resisting various common attacks. In addition, there are not any round-off errors in computation over finite fields, thus guaranteeing a strictly lossless image encryption. Due to the intrinsic nonlinearity of permutation polynomials in finite fields, the proposed image encryption system is nonlinear and can resist known-plaintext and chosen-plaintext attacks.

A new image encryption scheme based on logistic map and discrete fractional angular transform has been proposed. In the proposed scheme, the original image is encrypted with the random sequence generated by the logistic map, and the encrypted image is subsequently processed by the discrete fractional angular transform, which produces the ciphertext after double encryptions. The parameters of the logistic map and the order of the discrete fractional angular transform serve as the main keys of the image encryption algorithm. Simulation results show that the proposed image encryption algorithm can effectively resist the attacks of statistical analysis, and has acceptable encryption effect and security.

The successful recovery of the plaintext in the simplified diffractive-imaging-based encryption (S-DIBE) scheme needs to record one intact axial intensity map as the ciphertext. By aid of compressive sensing, we propose here a new image encryption approach, referred to as compressed DIBE (C-DIBE), which allows further compression of the intensity map. The plaintext is sampled before being sent to DIBE. Afterwards, the intensity map recorded by the CCD camera is also processed by such sampling operation to generate the ciphertext. For decryption, we first obtain the sparse plaintext using the proposed phase retrieval algorithm, and then reobtain the primary plaintext from it via compressive sensing. Numerical results show that a proper proportion of the intensity map (e.g. 50%) is enough to totally recover a grayscale image. We achieve multiple-image encryption by space multiplexing without enlarging the size of the ciphertext. The robustness of C-DIBE against brute-force attack evidently outperforms S-DIBE due to the extended key space. Numerical simulation has been presented to confirm the proposal.

Based on a fully phase encoding and phase retrieval algorithm, a diffractive-imaging-based optical encryption scheme with random illumination is proposed. In the encryption process, a QR code image is placed in the optic path to modulate the incident light and thus generate a random illumination, which has been demonstrated to enable the proposed scheme to resist the multi-slice ptychographic phase retrieval algorithm attack. The plaintext is phase-encoded, and then encrypted by two random phase masks. The diffraction pattern in the output plane is recorded as ciphertext by a CCD camera. For decryption, an iterative phase retrieval algorithm with median filtering operation is implemented. Simulation results demonstrate the effectiveness, security, and robustness of the proposal.

Encrypted in Derrida’s contribution to the Capri Seminar on Religion in 1994 are three retrievals: of his discussions of speech and of systems of inscription; of a concealment of splittings in the supposed continuities of traditions; and of a complicity between the operations of religion and those of a dissipation of the unities of science, Enlightenment, and knowledge, into proliferating autotelic tele-technologies. These retrievals take place between the lines of this discussion of faith, knowledge and religion, which arrives in two halves, each in twenty-six sections. Random sequences are used in various applications in construction of cryptographicsystems or formations of noise-type signals. For these tasks there is used the program generator of random sequences which is the determined device. Such a generator, as a rule, has special requirements concerning the quality of the numbers formation sequence. In cryptographic systems, the most often used are linearly –congruent generators, the main disadvantage of which is the short period of formation of pseudo-random number sequences. For this reason, in the article there is proposed the use of chaos generators as the period of the formed selection in this case depends on the size of digit net of the used computing system. It is obvious that the quality of the chaos generator has to be estimated through a system of the NIST tests. Therefore, detailed assessment of their statistical characteristics is necessary for practical application of chaos generators in cryptographic systems. In the article there are considered various generators and there is also given the qualitative assessment of the formation based on the binary random sequence. Considered are also the features of testing random number generators using the system. It is determinedthat not all chaos generators meet the requirements of the NIST tests. The article proposed the methods for improvingstatistical properties of chaos generators. The method of comparative analysis of random number generators based on NIST statistical tests is proposed, which allows to select generators with the best statistical properties. Proposed are also methods for improving the statistical characteristics of binary sequences, which are formed on the basis of various chaos generators.
Sekwencje losowe wykorzystywane są do tworzenia systemów kryptograficznych lub do formowania sygnałów zakłócających. Do tych zadań wykorzystywany jest generator sekwencji losowych, który jest urządzeniem deterministycznym. Taki generator z reguły ma specjalne wymagania dotyczące jakości tworzenia sekwencji liczbowej. W systemach kryptograficznych najczęściej stosuje się generatory liniowo-przystające, których główną wadą jest krótki okres formowania pseudolosowych sekwencji liczbowych. Z tego powodu w artykule zaproponowano użycie generatora chaotycznego, jako że okres próbkowania w tym przypadku zależy od rozmiaru siatki bitowej w używanym systemie obliczeniowym. Oczywistym jest, że należy oszacować jakość generatora chaotycznego za pomocą systemu testów NIST, dlatego też do praktycznego zastosowania generatorów chaotycznych w systemach kryptograficznych wymagana jest szczegółowa ocena ich cech statystycznych. W artykule rozważono różne generatory, a także podano ocenę jakościową procesu formacji na podstawie losowej sekwencji binarnej. Rozważano również funkcje testowania generatorów liczbowych przy użyciu systemu. Stwierdzono, że nie wszystkie generatory chaotyczne spełniają wymagania testów NIST. W artykule zaproponowano metody poprawy właściwości statystycznych generatorów chaotycznych, tak jak również metodę analizy porównawczej generatorów liczb losowych, która oparta jest na testach statystycznych NIST, i która pozwala wybrać generatory o najlepszych cechach statystycznych. Przedstawiono także metody poprawy właściwości statystycznych sekwencji binarnych, które powstają na podstawie różnych generatorów chaotycznych.

Fehr et al. (2010) proposed the first sender-equivocable encryption scheme secure against chosen-ciphertext attacks (NCCCA) and proved that NC-CCA security implies security against selective opening chosen-ciphertext attacks (SO-CCA). The NC-CCA security proof of the scheme relies on security against substitution attacks of a new primitive, the “cross-authentication code”. However, the security of the cross-authentication code cannot be guaranteed when all the keys used in the code are exposed. Our key observation is that, in the NC-CCA security game, the randomness used in the generation of the challenge ciphertext is exposed to the adversary. Based on this observation, we provide a security analysis of Fehr et al.'s scheme, showing that its NC-CCA security proof is flawed. We also point out that the scheme of Fehr et al. encrypting a single-bit plaintext can be refined to achieve NC-CCA security, free of the cross-authentication code. Furthermore, we propose the notion of “strong cross-authentication code”, apply it to Fehr et al. 's scheme, and show that the new version of the latter achieves NC-CCA security for multi-bit plaintexts.

Wykonywanie przyrostowych kopii zapasowych jest zdecydowanie bardziej efektywne od tworzenia archiwizacji całościowej danych. W przypadku dużych zbiorów różnice w czasie procesu wykonywania kopii i objętości pliku tworzonego materiału widać natychmiast, ponieważ kopio-wane są tyko pliki, w których nastąpiły zmiany, co znacznie zmniejsza ilość miejsca potrzebnego na przechowywanie kolejnych kopii. W artykule tym pokazano przykład wykorzystania systemu do wykonywania kopii zapasowej z kontrolą wersji backupu, która pozwala w przypadku częstych zmian treści w plikach szybko odnaleźć i przywrócić właściwą wersję. Połączenie tego rozwiązania z Cronem umożliwia całkowitą automatyzację procesu.
This article shows an example of use of the system to perform a backup of the backup version control, which allows for frequent changes to the content in the files quickly locate and restore the correct version. Combining this approach with Cron allows to completely automate the process.

This paper describes one of the essential elements of Secure Workstation for Special Applications (SWSA) to cryptographic protection of removable storage devices with USB interface. SWSA is a system designed to process data classified to different security domains in which the multilevel security is used. The described method for protecting data on removable Flash RAM protects data against unauthorized access in systems processing the data, belonging to different security domains (with different classification levels) in which channel the flow of data must be strictly controlled. Only user authenticated by the SWSA can use the removable medium in the system, and the data stored on such media can be read only by an authorized user by the SWSA. This solution uses both symmetric and asymmetric encryption algorithms. The following procedures are presented: creating protected a file (encryption), generating signatures for the file and reading (decryption) the file. Selected elements of the protection systems implementation of removable Flash RAM and the mechanisms used in implementation the Windows have been described.

With the increasing uses of internet technologies in daily life, vulnerability of personal data/information is also increasing. Performing secure communication over the channel which is insecure has always been a problem because of speedy development of various technologies. Encryption scheme provides secrecy to data by enabling only authorized user to access it. In the proposed paper, we present an encryption algorithm designed for data security based on bilinear mapping and prove it secure by providing its security theoretical proof against adaptive chosen cipher-text attack. With the help of a lemma, we have shown that no polynomially bounded adversary has non-negligible advantage in the challenging game. We also give the comparative analysis of the proposed scheme in terms of security and performance with Deng et al., 2020 and Jiang et al., 2021 schemes and prove that proposed algorithm is more efficient and secure than others existing in literature against adaptive chosen cipher-text attack.

The encryption of image data is artful as compare to others due to some special characteristics such as entropy, contrast, the correlation between the pixels, intensity, and homogeneity. During encryption process, it is conventionally not easy to manage these characteristics with non-chaotic cryptosystems. Therefore for the sake of strong encryption algorithms, in last decades many cryptographers have presented invulnerable schemes for image encryption based on the chaotic maps. This manuscript aims to propose a strong encryption scheme based on a symmetric group of permutation advanced encryption standard (AES) substitution boxes and modified Chebyshev map. Principally, the secret key depends upon the parameters of Chebyshev map to create confusion in the main image and is encrypted by the scheme made from the S8 AES S-boxes and chaotic map. By this procedure, one can obtain an encrypted image that is entirely twisted. The results of analyses showed that the presented image encryption is strong and invulnerable.

The Automatic Identification System (AIS) offers automatic traffic control and collision avoidance services to the maritime transportation sector worldwide. Because AIS lacks security mechanisms, it is vulnerable to misuse and exploitation by unlawful adversaries (e.g. sea-pirates, terrorists, smugglers). To address the security issues of the AIS, in an earlier paper [1], we proposed the deployment of a Maritime Certificate-less Identity-Based (mIBC) public-key cryptography infrastructure that enhances AIS with on-demand anonymity, authentication, and encryption capabilities. In this paper we address implementation aspects of that infrastructure. In particular, we propose to use the Sakai-Kasahara Identity-Based Encryption (IBE) approach to implement the mIBC infrastructure, following the IEEE 1363.3-2013 standard for Identity-Based Cryptography.

Opis:
A double-image encryption scheme based on compressive sensing is designed by combining a double random phase encoding technique with Josephus traversing operation. Two original images are first compressed and encrypted by compressive sensing in the discrete wavelet domain and then connected into a complex image according to the order of the alternate rows. Moreover, the resulting image is re-encrypted into stationary white noise by a double random phase encoding technique. Lastly, Josephus traversing method is utilized to scramble the transformed image. The initial states of the Henon chaotic map are the secret keys of this double-image encryption algorithm, which can be used to control the construction of the measurement matrix in compressive sensing and generation of the random-phase mask in double random phase encoding. Simulation results show that the proposed double-image encryption algorithm is effective and secure.

Opis:
Twin decomposition, consisting of equal and random modulus decompositions, not only makes a cryptosystem asymmetric but also resists special attack. A new double-image asymmetric crypto-system using twin decomposition in fractional Hartley domain is proposed. An input grayscale image, bonded with another grayscale image as its phase mask, is transformed via fractional Hartley transform. Equal modulus decomposition is applied on the resulting image, giving us two intermediate images. One of them is subjected to another fractional Hartley transform followed by random modulus decomposition, whereas the other serves as the first private key. The application of random modulus decomposition also results in two images: encrypted image and the second private key. During the process of decryption, firstly the encrypted image is combined with second private key and thereafter it is subjected to inverse fractional Hartley transform. The resulting image is then combined with the first private key, and followed by another inverse fractional Hartley transform, thus recovering the two original images. The proposed cryptosystem is validated for pairs of grayscale images.

In the process of ocean development, the technology for maritime communication system is a hot research field, of which information security is vital for the normal operation of the whole system, and that is also one of the difficulties in the research of maritime communication system. In this paper, a kind of maritime communication cryptographic SOC(system on chip) is introduced, and its compiler framework is put forward through analysis of working mode and problems faced by compiler front end. Then, a loop unrolling factor calculating algorithm based on queue theory, named UFBOQ (unrolling factor based on queue), is proposed to make parallel optimization in the compiler frontend with consideration of the instruction memory capacity limit. Finally, the scalar replacement method is used to optimize unrolled code to solve the memory access latency on the parallel computing efficiency, for continuous data storage characteristics of cryptographic algorithm. The UFBOQ algorithm and scalar replacement prove effective and appropriate, of which the effect achieves the linear speedup.

This paper represents a developed cryptographic information protection algorithm based on a substitution permutation network. We describe the cryptographic transformations used in the developed algorithm. One of the features of the algorithm is the simplicity of its modification with regard to different security levels. The algorithm uses a predeveloped S-box tested against differential and linear cryptanalysis. The S-box is consistent with one of the known standards AES and GOST R 34.12-2015. We provide the findings of an avalanche-effect investigation and statistical properties of ciphertexts. The algorithm actually meets the avalanche-effect criterion even after the first round.

Idea projektowania cyfrowych układów w logice odwracalnej jest wykorzystywana do budowy układów małej mocy. Modelowanie takich układów stało się możliwe dzięki zastosowaniu współczesnych narzędzi symulacyjnych stosowanych do programowania układów FPGA. W niniejszym artykule pokazano wykorzystanie logiki odwracalnej do szyfrowania i przykładową implementację takiego układu. Dla zwiększenia złożoności szyfratora rozbudowano go o programowaną matrycę krosującą zmieniająca kolejność sygnałów wejściowych oraz o układ przekształcania klucza szyfrującego.
A circuit (gate) is called reversible if there is one-to-one correspondence between its inputs and outputs. Research on reversible logic circuits is motivated by advances in quantum computing, nanotechnology and low-power design. Therefore, reversible logic synthesis has been recently intensively studied. The attention is focused mainly on the synthesis of circuits built from the NCT library of gates, i.e. NOT, CNOT and Toffoli gates. Many developers work with design of classical digital devices like registers, adders, processors etc. using reversible circuits. Recently they have also tried to build more complex devices like for example an encryption devices [4, 5, 6, 7], however, only for saving energy. The other point of view, presented in this paper, is to use some features of reversible function. One of them is a big number of functions. For n variables there exist 2n! different function. There are 24 reversible functions for 2 variables, 40320 functions for 3 variables and more than 20x1012 for 4 variables. Synthesis of circuits using 8 variable reversible function is too complicated. We use two cascades using 4 variable reversible function. We consider a 16-gates cascade. Depending on a given reversible function different cascade circuits will be obtained. These circuits correspond to a cryptographic key. Because we assume a 16-gates cascade and there exist 32 various gates we use 80-bit key for a 4-input cascade. Hence, for two cascades a cryptographic key will consist of 160 bits. Modern simulation tools based on FPGAs have enabled modeling of such circuits. In the paper we study application of reversible logic to developing encryption circuits. The results of FPGA-based simulation of a simple encryption circuit implemented built from reversible gates are also presented.
