Emergent literature - Opis:
- Untranslatable neologisms asgudi and taskla are the keywords of the discourse concerning Amazigh cultural emancipation that appeared in the French language manifestos and criticism analysed in this article. Asgudi (a term referring to the documentation of the oral patrimony) can be seen as a first step and taskla (the project of creating new forms of literary expression) as a further development in the process of cultural emancipation. The article contains a short outline of the history of the Amazigh struggle for linguistic and cultural rights. The political victory of this cause and the introduction of the Amazigh studies into schools and universities requires the formulation of further objectives in the development of a culture that should no longer be qualified as marginalised. This is why we observe a recent proliferation of new programs, accentuating the necessity of written literary expression as a basis for strong identity that, according to the emerging theoreticians of “Amazighness”, no oral culture can achieve.
