    The aim of the paper is to provide further insights into the mechanisms contributing to the integration of immigrants in higher education. Recent immigration waves into Europe place pressure on European communities; However, mass immigration is only expected to increase. The immigrants’ influence on their host countries depends on their economic performance and how well they adapt. In this regard education serves as a key component towards successful integration. As European higher education transforms the influence of these reforms on the participation rates of immigrants is of relevance. A comparison between the participation rates of immigrants following the Europeanization of the Scandinavian higher education system provides interesting insights to these issues.

    Opis:
    Analysis of gender may be applied to many areas of human personalities and activities, including business, science, ICT, society and policy. Thus combining gender issue and innovativeness should be explored in search of extraordinary sources of progress. The purpose of this article is to verify outcomes of one of the themes: the identifi cation of differences between women and men in functionalities and types of knowledge themes obtained from the Internet. The hypothesis was: making the Internet available does not require creative thinking skills from students in acquiring knowledge from the accessible sources online or its operationalization, thus they have to be learned as part of the teaching process. The article contains the results of a pilot survey study conducted among students. The hypothesis was confi rmed. Students using the Internet, and particularly social networks, do not creatively seek new sources of knowledge and resources, and also cannot operationalize or work independently and creatively on these resources. Internet access as such is not enough. It is necessary to for it to be refl ected in the formal transfer of knowledge in universities, as exercises, personal training, or other forms of training, to prepare students for the effi cient and effective use of the Internet.
    Dokumenty Komisji Europejskiej dotyczące europejskiej perspektywy 2020 podkreślają, że zapisy równościowe co do roli kobiet i mężczyzn są dla Europy niezbędne dla Europy, aby wzmocnić wykorzystanie całego swojego potencjału. Dlatego też pozycja kobiet i mężczyzn w gospodarce i społeczeństwie jest ważnym polem badawczym w poszukiwaniu nadzwyczajnych źródeł osiągania postępu. Szczególnie w gospodarce opartej na wiedzy, gdzie innowacyjność zajmuje miejsce kluczowe. Analiza w aspekcie płci może być stosowana do biznesu, nauki, technologii informacyjno-komunikacyjnych, społeczeństwa i polityki. A więc także połączenie kwestii płci i innowacyjności powinny być traktowane jako poszukiwanie niezwykłych źródeł postępu. W artykule przedstawiono wyniki jednego z zadań podejmowanych przez autorów w ramach projektu badawczego zatytułowanego „Innovative Gender – nowe źródło postępu”. Identyfi kacja różnic między kobietami i mężczyznami w umiejętności pozyskiwania wiedzy z Internetu, a także jej wykorzystania (transformacji dla różnych celów) może dostarczyć pewnych uzupełniających dowodów na istnienie określonych źródeł damskiej i męskiej kreatywności. W artykule przedstawiono wyniki badania pilotażowego przeprowadzonego wśród studentów. Głównym wnioskiem jest to, że zarówno kobiety jak i mężczyźni korzystali z sieci społecznych głównie jako sposobu komunikowania się ze znajomymi, poznawania nowych ludzi, codziennych rozmów o przypadkowych i osobistych sprawach oraz problemach. Ponad 50% wszystkich kobiet i mężczyzn wskazało, że korzysta z Internetu na uczelni iw pracy, ale tylko 14% kobiet i 7% mężczyzn korzystać z wielu serwisów społecznościowych, aby znaleźć informacje i wiedzę niezbędną do rozwiązania profesjonalnych i praktycznych problemów zawodowych czy naukowych. Więc pytanie brzmi, czy Internet zapewnia dostęp do wysokiej jakości wiedzy?

    The Israeli economy in the first two decades of the 21st century is an example of an economic transformation that may serve as a role model for addressing many challenges to economic growth. Data from this period have shown signicfiant developments in economic growth over this relatively short period of time and indicate that these advances are attributable to policies targeting inflation, labor force participation and education. While challenges remain-including economic inequality, suboptimal health care and the threat of coronavirus pandemic to global growth-we explore developments evidenced to promote economic growth.

    The article is devoted to the presentation of the results of a research on the social functions and importance of participation in classical music concerts for pregnant women, infants, and young children, organized by the Pomeranian Philharmonic in Bydgoszcz. The research project was devoted to exploring such functions of music, as education and entertainment, as well as the functions of family in reference to stratification, socialization, identification, and emotions, as it is the family that, through participation in the high-brow culture from the prenatal period, for one thing, determines a child’s place in the social structure, and permanently imprints participation in this king of culture as a lifestyle. In Sociology of Music, Barbara Jabłońska writes that music also fulfils a distinctive and segregational function, that is, promotes class divisions in a society, as it diversifies social positions by means of consumption of certain musical genres. It seems that the concerts discussed in the article may have such a function in relation to the ways of spending free time by families. Participation in concerts for pregnant women, infants, and young children is a means of reproduction of social position by families who are aware of the scientifically proven positive impact of participation in high-brow culture on the child’s cognitive and emotional development. Conscious parenting, including participation in this type of concerts, can support the educational life chances of children. The article is based on a participant observation and interviews with the promoters of the concerts, as well as an analysis of the literature on the subject.
