A day care center is not just any place where children can spend their day while parents are at work. How to ensure that children have good childhood experiences and how to sup-port their positive development from the very beginning of their educational career? In this study, we introduce the concept of love-based leadership and discuss its role and implemen-tation in early education. Love-based leadership in early education is a method that renews teachers’ professional skills. The Finnish early childhood education system offers favorable premises for love-based leadership in early education. The method should also be included in the curriculum of future early childhood education teachers.

The aim of the article is to examine the views of early childhood education teachers about the realities of widely understood remote education. Due to the times of the pandemic, the research sample and the research itself is just a conversation with two teachers of early childhood education, taking into account the same research problems. The authors wanted them to be people who teach at the same level of education, with different professional experience and a diverse range of experiences. Both teachers were positive about the conversations. They were guided by the willingness to help and the curiosity of the research results.

Opis:
Many studies that are currently conducted in the United States and Western Europe, indicate the advantage of cooperative learning over individual learning, which creates conditions for rivalry and competition. It is surprising, therefore, that in Poland there are still few publications and research reports on the subject. The literature available does not present analyses of cognitive effects of interacting with peers; it exposes only the importance of collaborative learning for social and personal development of students. Also, cooperative learning is still rarely used in Polish schools, although it is generally considered as an important element of the constructivist approach to teaching. The aim of this study is to identify the opinions of early childhood education teachers on cooperative learning. The survey results describe teachers’ beliefs on the children’s learning process and the place of cooperative learning in the classroom. They also show how the respondents perceive their role in promoting the cooperation of students in a team when performing the tasks.

The problems of this article oscillate around silence in education understood in two ways: as stagnation and unwillingness to take action within the framework of imposed conditions and as silence, in other words not dealing with certain problems, avoiding difficult issues. The first part is devoted to educational silence from a systemic point of view, while the second part, based on reports from student teaching practice, deals with the profile of an early education teacher, his/her work style, problems connected with the teaching profes-sion and, above all, with the areas neglected/overlooked in early education and an attempt to explain this phenomenon.

Opis:
Migration puts children in a difficult situation – it takes away their stability and constancy of everyday events and plucks them from a safe environment. The purpose of the article is to present the main assumptions and innovative ideas related to the author’s Positive Early Childhood Education Curriculum, as well as indicating the forms of work with students with migration trauma experience. The applied method was the educational project description. The extraordinary nature of the Curriculum is exhibited in the relocation of metatheoretical assumptions – from pedagogy of “lack” to pedagogy of “growth”. Therefore, it is recommended that the child’s well-being should be nurtured (M. Seligman, A. Antonovsky) alongside the development of intercultural proximity and “soft competences”, which are of importance for students with trauma experiences. The Curriculum allows as well for acquiring teacher’s self-awareness. It has been indicated how to implement the Curriculum assumptions – positivity, optimality, balance, and prospectivity for students with various cultural and biographical backgrounds. Special attention is devoted to strengthening the resilience in students with migration experiences and to the directions of actions to enable them the emotional, socio-cultural, instrumental, material and procedural, systemic, environmental and preventive support.

Modern technologies are an inseparable structure of modern human life. Nowadays, it is impossible to imagine existence without a phone, smartphone or computer. They are ubiquitous in work, play, social life and school education. Children are starting to use modern technologies more and more actively. This publication attempts to present the importance of modern technologies in remote work with students. Referring to the literature on the subject and relying on their own observations and experiences in working with students at a younger school age, an attempt was made to make the reader aware that modern methods and technological measures have a significant impact on the development and behavior of students from an early age of education. The significant role of the teacher in the entire didactic process was also indicated. The advantages and disadvantages of distance learning were also highlighted.

Opis:
Physical Activity Education (PAE) has always been playing an important role in the history of Early Childhood Education (ECE) in Germany and its institutionalized form called “Kindergarten”. As a key feature of Kindergarten quality Physical Activity (PA) was originally considered to be either a compensation for children’s health dangers along with the neglect by their hard working mothers or a mere medium for other developmental fields such as cognition or social behavior. The subjectively observed outcome for the pedagogues was far from empirically objective evidence. Till the 1970s neither the technical term “quality” nor any empirical quality standards existed in German ECE to assess the effect of PA in Kindergarten. This fairly hasn’t changed yet although some general findings of high quality effects can be reported as well as PA specific results from a recent review on systematic PAE programmes. Despite this fact, Germany’s organized sports associations (OSA) installed 1759 Physical Activity Kindergarten (PAK) with great expectations in their overall positive developmental effect. For quality assurance some criteria were developed to achieve a minimum standard level. Subsequently a very popular license originated without having evidence for its positive outcome. A randomized, controlled longitudinal study is still to come.

Opis:
Baśń o perle (ang. Fairy tale about a pearl) by Anna Gibasiewicz (2016), is a moving story of heroes, whose fates intertwine in extraordinary circumstances, a tale of transformation and searching for the most important things in life. By its form the fairy tale refers to the folk magic tales, the mood of melancholy is similar to Andersen’s fairy tales. The story is addressed to children at the early school age. On its example, I look at the contemporary implementation of the traditional genre, which is a fairy tale and the values carried by the story. I pay attention to fairy tales, which may form the basis for educational activities with children. Analyzing the literary text of Baśń o perle (ang. Fairy tale about pearl) I refer to psychoanalytic interpretations of folk tales made by Bruno Bettelhaim and archetypal critique by Alicja Baluch. Reading fairy tales to the contemporary child still can perform a „miraculous and useful” role in his social and emotional development.

The article presents the results of a quantitative-qualitative study that examined the experiences of children and early childhood education teachers with multi-layered interactive materials in which augmented reality technology was implemented. The article also addresses issues related to support (MIEM) for selected cognitive processes of early childhood education students. The research was conducted within the framework of the Ministry of Education and Science's program titled: Pupil circles create innovation. The study involved 1153 early childhood education students between the ages of 7 and 10, as well as their teachers, who constituted a group of 41 early childhood education teachers. A triangulation of research methods was used in the study. For the group of students, a diagnostic survey method was used, for which a survey questionnaire was developed on the Kahoot platform and an in-depth interview using an interview questionnaire. For the group of teachers, a diagnostic survey method was used, for which a survey questionnaire was developed. The survey was implemented using the Computer Assisted Personal Interview technique on the Google Forms platform. On the basis of the conducted research, conclusions were developed in terms of the main objective of the research, which was: preliminary identification of the potential for using MIEM in the context of cognitive processes in early childhood education. The results of the research indicate that early childhood education students received the introduced innovation into the teaching process to a very positive degree. First of all, MIEM resulted in high motivation for learning. The result of which was a significant number of memorized messages contained in MIEM. It should also be added that this fact can have an impact on students' memory and perceptiveness. It can also be tentatively concluded that MIEM can have an impact on cognitive processes in particular on thinking and imagination. This conclusion follows directly from the type of technology that allows generating things previously difficult to visualize. In addition, the experiences of teachers who participated in the study indicate that MIEMs provide new opportunities for experimentation and interactive learning. According to the teachers, MIEMs make it possible to support the teaching and learning of nature, mathematics, as well as other subjects. Early childhood education teachers enthusiastically welcomed the use of AR, as well as seeing this technology as a solution to the problems of implementing the principle of viewability in early childhood education.

Opis:
The text presents an analysis of global sources of the increasing expansion of the market model in the field of early childhood education, understood as all institutional types of pre-schooling education. The importance of this stage of education for the child’s development – especially in disadvantaged groups – and its subsequent functioning at school does not seem to be questionable in the light of the research results cited. Nonetheless, the possibility of every child’s access to good, public, and free early education is far from satisfactory. Consideration of this issue from the economic, educational, and political perspectives reveals a number of tensions and problems, conditioned locally and globally. One of the key issues is the opposition between the market model of early childhood education and aspirations to implement democratic solutions supporting these wide learning objectives for children. However, the economic crisis makes education in the field of early childhood education require public and private partnership, implemented in the context of specific government regulations.

Content of article by Anna Szkolak The Innovative Early Childhood Education Teacher – A Summary of Own Research is related with the debate on the Polish teacher condition in the situation of the system transformation, changes in the Polish school. The particular role in this process is ascribed to an early childhood education teacher and his or her creative competences. A creative teacher is undoubtedly a teacher with great imaginativeness and inspiration, open to the ideas of others, constantly deepening his knowledge and improving his professional qualifications. Constantly faced with new educational situations, the teacher has to make sure his work is not conventional or formalized but instead requires continuous searching for and creating new solutions. Pedagogical innovation is a characteristic feature of a creative teacher. Empirical research include early childhood teachers in town environment. Their professionalism was valued on the basis of self-assessment. The research results gave the empirical material proving the fact that early childhood education teachers present a good level of creative competences. The end of article is statement, there is no one right way for helping young children achieve their creative potential. Teachers will need to continue to experiment and test alternatives to see what is effective in their situation.

The article concerns the role of motivation among early education teachers in striving for pedagogical mastery. The aim of the exploratory research was to outline the motives of early childhood education teachers in their pursuit of pedagogical mastery. The main challenge was to determine what factors motivate a teacher to strive for excellence and what methods are used to achieve it. This question was answered by collecting empirical evidence from January to May 2019. The research conducted by the author was of a mixed nature (quantitative and qualitative). The findings suggest that there are many motives for Polish teachers of early childhood education to achieve pedagogical mastery, but chief among them is financial gratification. In Poland, the amount of remuneration depends on one’s professional degree. A professional career and its further advancement is balanced with the journey to achieve pedagogical mastery.

Contemporary pre-school institutions in Germany have ceased to be perceived solely as providers of care. Significant importance has been assigned to education and upbringing as equivalent categories. The change in approach is not only apparent in their organisation and functioning, but also in state policies, which clearly emphasise the importance of early childhood. The aim of the article is to analyse the political-pedagogical debate that has been in progress since 2005, as well as to scrutinise the adopted arguments and their consequences in the form of the ever changing early school education and care in Germany. The analysis of conditions that have contributed to bestowing preschools with such significance, not only in the process of early childhood development, but also in the process of more broadly understood social development, has also been recognised as equally important, as a result of which preschool institutions have gained importance in the area of political investment that is equal to that granted to schools. The analysis of educational reports and formal-legal guidelines on both federal and state levels is meant to illustrate the range of the introduced changes and the specifics of the German reform, which is perceived as an interlinked network and as cooperation for the sake of children and their families.
