    Department of Industrial & Production Engineering started its glorious journey from 2006 in Rajshahi University of Engineering & Technology. Since then approximately 250 students graduated and continuously enhancing the global quality of the department through leading discovery and innovation. Despite their shines in career, some problems come their way and make them realize that they should be more careful about them in their University life. In order to get the regarding information, we surveyed about 100 graduates of IPE from different series. They are now working in different sectors with a different designation. Their experience about their career life will help us to find out the problems faced by the fresh IPE graduates as well as it will help us to solve the problems in our University life. We analyzed the data & build methodology through the brainstorming process & finally achieved our result. This will provide a way to overcome the problems faced by the fresh IPE graduates in their initial career.

    After a Decade of privatization in insurance sector in India, Customers of LIC believes that LIC is still in leading position in insurance sector. LIC win the trust of majority of the customers LIC of India doesn’t charge any hidden charges and due to government organization LIC succeeds to provide feeling of security to their customer. A descriptive study is conducted among the customers of the LIC of India from different branches in Bhopal. The objective of this research is to study the perception of customers about the change management (Privatization) and impact of the change management on the services provided by LIC of India to their customers. Chi Square test is applied in this paper to check the authenticity of data given by the respondents. The findings suggests that the change management can be implemented through Planning and Implementation, Decision making, transparency in policies, by creating opportunities for development etc

    Opis:
    Corporate Governance provides for the rules, procedures, systems and processes using which a company is controlled and directed. This study aims in finding out how significant corporate governance is in building a brand for a company with the overview of customers and employees of PNB MetLife. As last decade has seen a remarkable change and upgrade in the way companies look for its corporate governance processes and procedures as this involves balancing the interests of all the stakeholders- shareholders, management, customers, suppliers, financiers government and the community. This study also intends to seek and show how a company can build its brand of the products and services by having a good control over its internal and external processes and procedures for work. Interview of senior officials at PNB MetLife has been undertaken, and also the data of 80 employees were undertaken to complete this study. The findings of the study suggest that the company has prospered and has been able to deliver good performances with regards to its corporate governance. Customers and employees are being aware and are assertively looking forward to deal with companies that are following corporate governance religiously.

    The main goal of this study is to carry out the public exposure contribution from radioactive materials occurring due to the accident of natural gas exploration well of Sylhet division in Bangladesh. This study has been performed by using a gamma spectrometry of Genie 2000 software embedded PC-based High Purity Germanium (HPGe) detector system. The measured activity concentrations of naturally occurring radionuclides 232Th, 226Ra, and 40K have been in the public safety limit on the environment of the study areas. The specific activity of detected anthropogenic radionuclide 137Cs has been found to be very little with a mean value of 1.65 ± 0.61 and 1.13 ± 0.57 Bq•kg–1 in the Magurchhera and Haripur gas field area respectively.

    This paper is a review of recent results in theory of dams. Only continuous-time models are considered, the dam capacity being assumed to be infinite. The results are given for the following cases: (1) The input is a process with independent increments, and release is at a constant rate; (2) the input and output processes have infinitely divisible distributions; (3) the input is a process with independent increments, and the release rate is equal to r(x), where x denotes the content of the dam; (4) the input is a semi-Markov process, and the output rate is r(x); (5) the input and output are semi-Markov processes.     Data-aware scheduling in today’s large-scale heterogeneous environments has become a major research and engineering issue. Data Grids (DGs), Data Clouds (DCs) and Data Centers are designed for supporting the processing and analysis of massive data, which can be generated by distributed users, devices and computing centers. Data scheduling must be considered jointly with the application scheduling process. It generates a wide family of global optimization problems with the new scheduling criteria including data transmission time, data access and processing times, reliability of the data servers, security in the data processing and data access processes. In this paper, a new version of the Expected Time to Compute Matrix (ETC Matrix) model is defined for independent batch scheduling in physical network in DG and DC environments. In this model, the completion times of the computing nodes are estimated based on the standard ETC Matrix and data transmission times. The proposed model has been empirically evaluated on the static grid scheduling benchmark by using the simple genetic-based schedulers. A simple comparison of the achieved results for two basic scheduling metrics, namely makespan and average flowtime, with the results generated in the case of ignoring the data scheduling phase show the significant impact of the data processing model on the schedule execution times.

    Tomato (Solanum lycopersicum L.) is an important vegetable crop for income of small-holder farmers. However, it is attacked by many insect pests that cause high economic losses. More than sixty five research technical papers were reviewed focus on control and management strategies of Tuta absoluta (Meyrick, 1917) (Lepidoptera: Gelechiidae). The aim of this review paper is to call for attentions and concerted actions of concerned sectors by describing the potential damage of the pest, its entry, pathways and its control methods. The pest is becoming one of the major key pests of tomato which account for its production loss of up to 80 to 100% if left unchecked. The pest have developed resistance to dozens of pesticides and therefore the (IPM) strategy that employs bio-chemical, biological, physical and cultural methods is the only best option we had at time. Therefore, a brief outlook of the future research and applications of indigenous T. absoluta biological control agents are widely discussed.

    The main focus was to reduce defects in production lines of a newly started crackers manufacturing company as well as develop such a system so that mass defects can’t happen again. To ensure a rated benefit & make the market value constant in the market an efficient system is one of the primary requirements. The prime qualities must be constant. So, to ensure that the causes of defects will not happen again the root-cause analysis has been done from the record of check sheet. Then all the errors from vital elements of production were detected and actual parameters, ingredient composition, temperature, pressure, steam supply etc. have been tried to maintain constantly. The co-operation of top to bottom hierarchy made this process successful & also able to build a permanent preventive system. Finally, a stable & reliable production system has been established to maintain target production and achieve maximum benefit ensuring excellent quality of product.

    Cel artykułu. W niniejszym artykule podjęto tematykę instrumentów finansowych typu ETC (ang. Exchange-Traded Commodities). Przyczynkiem do tej analizy było wprowadzenie pierwszego takiego instrumentu do obrotu na Giełdzie Papierów Wartościowych w Warszawie w sierpniu 2023 r., co stanowiło znaczący krok w ewolucji rynku kapitałowego w Polsce. Koncentrując się na regulacjach wprowadzonych przez GPW w Warszawie, przeanalizowano adekwatność środków mających na celu ochronę nabywców instrumentów typu ETC. Analiza ta objęła również perspektywę i rynek europejski, dostarczając porównawczego spojrzenia na krajowe rozwiązania. Przeanalizowano konstrukcję instrumentu, ramy regulacyjne, genezę oraz zasady działania ETC, rozróżniając te instrumenty od funduszy typu ETF. Pomimo podobieństw, instrumenty typu ETC różnią się bowiem znacznie pod względem struktury i charakteru prawnego od funduszy typu ETF. W szczególności nie są one zharmonizowane na poziomie europejskim, co wpływa na ochronę inwestorów. Ta różnica skłania do postawienia pytań dotyczących skuteczności istniejących regulacji dla zapewnienia bezpieczeństwa inwestorów i pewności obrotu, nie tylko na gruncie Polski. Metoda badawcza. Aby odpowiedzieć na te pytania, w podjętej analizie dokonano przeglądu literatury, analizy aktów prawnych oraz danych rynkowych. Zastosowano analizę porównawczą, aby zbadać funkcję w obrocie, konstrukcję oraz aspekty regulacyjne funkcjonowania instrumentów typu ETC w porównaniu do ETF-ów, ze szczególnym uwzględnieniem mechanizmów ochrony inwestorów. Dodatkowo, porównano regulacje obowiązujące w zakresie instrumentów typu ETC na kluczowych giełdach europejskich w odniesieniu do rozwiązań wdrożonych przez Giełdę Papierów Wartościowych w Warszawie. Wyniki badań. Przeprowadzona analiza prowadzi do wniosku, że brak zharmonizowanych regulacji dla instrumentów typu ETC stanowi istotne wyzwanie dla inwestorów. W praktyce są oni, niejednokrotnie w kluczowych aspektach, chronieni na poziomie zbliżonym do inwestorów w ETF-y. Nie są to jednak uniwersalne i zagwarantowane regulacyjnie standardy, na których inwestorzy mogliby polegać. Rekomendowane jest zatem ujednolicenie terminologiczne instrumentów pasywnego inwestowania, które powinno pociągać za sobą harmonizację podstawowych zasad konstrukcji danych instrumentów i ich obrotu. W odniesieniu do instrumentów typu ETC na GPW w Warszawie, wprowadzone rozwiązania przewyższają pod względem ochrony inwestorów odpowiedniki obserwowane na niektórych innych rynkach UE. Niemniej jednak, postulowane są dalsze zmiany regulaminowe, który mogłaby przyczynić się do dalszego rozwoju rynku instrumentów typu ETC w Polsce.
    The purpose of the article. This article examines Exchange-Traded Commodities (ETCs), prompted by the introduction of the first ETC on the Warsaw Stock Exchange (GPW) in August 2023, a significant milestone in the evolution of Poland's capital market. The analysis focuses on the regulations introduced by the GPW in Warsaw, evaluating the adequacy of measures aimed at protecting ETC purchasers. The study also incorporates a European perspective, offering a comparative analysis of national solutions. The structure of the instrument, regulatory framework, origins, and principles of ETC operation are examined, distinguishing these instruments from more popular ETFs. Despite some similarities, ETCs differ significantly in structure and legal character from ETFs, particularly due to the lack of harmonisation at the European level, which impacts investor protection. This disparity raises questions about the effectiveness of existing regulations in ensuring investor safety and trading certainty, not only in Poland. Methodology. To answer these questions the research utilizes a mixed-method approach, incorporating literature reviews, legal acts analyses, and market data examination. It employs a comparative analysis to explore the functionalities, structures, and regulatory settings of ETCs versus ETFs, with a particular focus on mechanisms for investor protection. Additionally, the study evaluates and contrasts the trading regulations applicable to ETCs across major European exchanges in relation to the regulatory frameworks and investor protections implemented by the Warsaw Stock Exchange. Results of the research. The analysis concludes that the lack of harmonised regulations for ETCs poses a significant challenge for investors. In practice, investors are often protected in key aspects at a level similar to that of ETF investors. However, these are not universal or guaranteed regulatory standards that investors can rely on. Therefore, it is recommended to standardise the terminology of passive investment instruments (including ETCs), leading to the harmonisation of basic principles for the construction and trading of these instruments. Regarding ETCs on the Warsaw Stock Exchange, the introduced solutions provide a higher level of investor protection compared to some other EU markets. Nonetheless, further regulatory changes are proposed to support the continued development of the ETC market in Poland.

    This article is a part of a large project which aim is a new, corpus-based grammar of contemporary Czech language. It deals with connectives that express meanings from the sphere of time and tense, particularly with their combinations (compound connectives), and with stylistic and pragmatic properties of them. We consider the connective kdyź as a centre of this group of compound connectives and try to differ functions of combinations like aź kdyź; prave kdyź; tehdy, kdyź; kdyź potom; kdyź jeśte; vźdycky kdyź; etc. It is inte- resting to study the interference between temporal semantics and causal, conditional, con- cessive, as well as other meanings. As we have today large amount of data at our disposal (thanks to the Czech National Corpus), we are able to study different distribution of temporal connectives (and their combinations) in the pattems of fimctional styles and in va- rious text types and genres (scientific texts, professional instructions, economic and sport reports and commentaries, interviews, fairy tales or novels, etc.).

"In this paper we give the solution of the traveling salesman problem via disjunctive graphs. Up to now the elements of disjunctive graphs have been used to solve problems connected with the determination of an optimal task completion sequence.''

    The main focus of this paper is to integrate the application of Total Quality Management & Kaizen in improvement of Engineering students. Most Engineering students get depressed when they can’t understand the topics & fail to cut a good figure in the semester final exam as well as there CGPA becomes poor. 80-90% students blame the curriculum & system but it is not easy to change the system rapidly. The irony is, in Bangladesh most of the time is spent to memorize books for good academic performance. The Engineering Education Curriculum is mainly memorizing based. Students have to learn a lot of theory & write them in the exam as given in reference books to get good marks. This system makes students bookish & discourages them from creativity & innovation. The evaluation system in this educational system only represents how much a student spends time for academic studies not the creativity, intelligence, passion & dedication etc. This makes frustrated who are involved in innovative projects, research or contests. Without creativity & innovation it is not possible to advance the science & technology which is the main purpose of Engineering. In this research a structured & detailed process of TQM & Kaizen has been discussed & showed which is suitable to achieve which goal. One is for determining & analyzing problems & another is one of the best process to achieve a satisfactory outcome in academic & professional development process.

    The garden presents itself as an area consciously created by the human being. Its representation is usually actualized in opposition both to what is natural and to what is artificial (e.g. to a city). Over many years now, the garden has been been considered to be a “cultural fossil”, and as such, an object of importance for literary critics, film critics, art historians, musicologists etc., and an anthropological phenomenon, which is demonstrated by contemporary juxtapositions of aesthetics with environmental science, pace Gernot Böhme, or the transcultural aesthetics promoted by Wolfgang Welsch). At this stage, we are very close to full understanding of the phenomenon of garden-topos, as well as the numerous garden metaphors. In Zbigniew Rybczyński’s film Orkiestra there are several areas of author’s interest in the garden created and filmed on a theatrical stage. The garden as a space of life-renewal, symbol of birth and metaphysical rebirth, a renewed experience of fulness. The garden as a space of ordered life, positive energy, areas of joy liberation, a synonym of goodness and ideals. Finally, as the symbol of return to creation, beauty, to the first beginning, to civilized and tame nature.

    The purpose of the article/hypothesis: The purpose of this article is to present the impact of capital gains tax on the returns of the two most popular cryptocurrencies: BITCOIN and Ethereum Classic (ETC). Methodology: In this study, the rates of return on selected cryptocurrencies were proposed as a variable that may be affected by taxes on capital gains. The article presents a new approach to the analysis of issues related to cryptocurrencies. Results of the research: The results show that for selected countries (Hungary, Italy, Poland, the USA) there is a correlation between the tax rate on capital gains and the return on ETC. In the case of BITCON, however, there is no such a relationship.
    Cel artykułu/hipoteza: Celem niniejszego artykułu jest przedstawienie wpływu podatku od zysków kapitałowych na zwroty dwóch najpopularniejszych kryptowalut: BITCOIN i Ethereum Classic (ETC). Metodyka: W niniejszym opracowaniu stopy zwrotu z wybranych kryptowalut zostały za-proponowane jako zmienna, na którą mogą wpływać podatki od zysków kapitałowych. Artykuł przedstawia nowe podejście do analizy zagadnień związanych z kryptowalutami. Wyniki/Rezultaty badania: Wyniki pokazują, że dla wybranych krajów (Węgry, Włochy, Polska, USA) istnieje korelacja między stawką podatku od zysków kapitałowych a zwro-tem z ETC. W przypadku BITCON-u jednak takiej relacji nie ma.

    Współpraca transgraniczna jest częścią Europejskiej Współpracy Terytorialnej, a tym samym zasadniczym elementem strategii integracji państw członkowskich Unii Europejskiej. Jednakże realizacja i efektywność współpracy uwarunkowana jest rodzajem granicy, bowiem położenie przy wewnętrznej granicy UE stanowi potencjalną szansę rozwojową, zaś przy zewnętrznej wiąże się z przełamywaniem różnorodnych barier, w tym m.in. instytucjonalnych, organizacyjnych i prawnych. Celem artykułu jest dokonanie analizy porównawczej współpracy transgranicznej realizowanej w latach 2007-2013 i finansowanej w ramach Europejskiej Współpracy Terytorialnej oraz Europejskiego Instrumentu Sąsiedztwa i Partnerstwa. Autorzy uwzględnili wszystkie programy współpracy transgranicznej z udziałem Polski, przeanalizowali cele oraz priorytety poszczególnych programów, wskazując najważniejsze obszary wsparcia, ramy finansowe programów oraz efekty realizacji projektów w ramach poszczególnych programów.
    Transborder cooperation is a component of the European Territorial Cooperation and therefore an essential part of the integration strategy of EU Member States. However, the implementation and effectiveness of cooperation is determined by the type of the border. Location at the internal UE border means potential development opportunity, whereas at the external is associated with overcoming a set of variety obstacles, including institutional, organizational and legal. The article aims to make the comparative analysis of transborder cooperation implemented in 2007-2013 and financed under the European Territorial Cooperation and the European Neighborhood and Partnership Instrument. The Authors took into account all transborder programs involving Poland, analyzed the objectives and priorities of the individual programs, pointing out the key support areas, the financial framework and the outcomes of projects within programs.

    The paper presents calculations of ultimate limit states and serviceability limit states of shallow foundation based on dense sand. It refers to the set of 6 design examples provided by European Technical Committee (ETC10), which was established by the International Society of Soil Mechanics and Geotechnical Engineering.
