Opis:
The Complexity Index method is an approach developed to help manufacturing companies quantify complexity in production. This paper sheds light on the connection between complexity and manufacturing problems and how the Complexity Index method was used to capture the areas in a production line with high levels of complexity to determine the sources of manufacturing problems related to labour time, surplus production, and manufacturing error. The main areas perceived as complex were due to Work Instructions, Work Content, and Product Variants. The perceived complexities were assessed for proper actions to be taken to decrease their level of complexity. The correlations between complexity and manufacturing problems were used for tracking related issues and ways for improvement. This study presents data on the use of workers’ perception to uncover the areas of complexity, which could be used by the management team to pragmatically capture difficulties and issues related to manufacturing problems to improve the production system.

Alternative movement techniques identification is primordial in many studies of biology, medicine and ergonomics. Few studies in literature propose quantitative techniques to achieve this purpose. Park et al. [ W. Park, B.J. Martin, S. Choe, D.B. Chaffin, M.P. Reed, "Representing and identifying alternative movement techniques for goal-directed manual tasks", Journal of Biomechanics, vol. 38 , 2005, pp. 519-527] proposed a biomechanical index based technique named JCV. This method finds its limits when dealing with three-dimensional complex movements. In the present study we propose a modification of this method so that it will be applied to complex movements. We consider a non-habitual end effector (Midpoint between Hips). We obtain other indices, 3BJCV, to which a non-supervised clustering technique is applied. We have applied our method to the ingress movements of 37 young and elderly subjects with or without prosthesis entering in a minivan vehicle. Our method allows the identification of the two big classes of ingress movements observed by Ait El Menceur et al. [M-O. Ait El Menceur, P. Pudlo, P. Gorce, A. A cooperative society has remained a major concern especially in the developing countries like Nigeria. This study was born out of necessity to provide answers to fundamental questions raised on cooperatives societies. The objectives of this research was to ascertain the significant relationship between growth drivers and cooperative societies and to investigate significant relationship between cooperative societies and growth drivers such as interest rate, savings plan and to determine if amount borrowed has assisted to increase welfare and satisfaction of members. The primary data was gathered using structured questionnaire. The survey method was used and a cross-sectional design was adopted. The two institution chosen are the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB), and Covenant University (CU). Total population of the selected cooperative society in FUNAAB is 573 and the total population of the selected cooperative society in CU is 697. The data was analysed using statistical package for the social sciences, (SPSS). It also made use of analysis of variance (ANOVA), Simple linear regression analysis was used to test hypotheses one and correlation analysis was employed to test hypothesis two. The study indicate that interest rate of cooperative societies is a significant predictor of patronage of the cooperative, it was revealed that there exist a relationship between loan repayment periods, savings plan and the satisfaction of members of the cooperative The study recommended the need for the improvement in the performance of the cooperative societies.

Introduction. The impact of a driver’s cognitive capability on traffic safety has not been adequately studied. This study examined the relationship between cognitive failures, driving errors and accident data. Method. Professional drivers from Iran (160 males, ages 18–65) participated in this study. The cognitive failures questionnaire (CFQ) and the driver error questionnaire were administered. The participants were also asked other questions about personal driving information. A principal component analysis with varimax rotation was performed to determine the factor structure of the CFQ. Poisson regression models were developed to predict driving errors and accidents from total CFQ scores and the extracted factors. Results. Total CFQ scores were associated with driving error rates, but not with accidents. However, the 2 extracted factors suggested an increased effect on accidents and were strongly associated with driving errors. Discussion. Although the CFQ was not able to predict driving accidents, it could be used to identify drivers susceptible to driving errors. Further development of a driving-oriented cognitive failure scale is recommended to help identify error prone drivers. Such a scale may be beneficial to licensing authorities or for developing driver selection and training procedures for organizations.

This study aims to analyze key driving factors for Transformative Supply Chain (TSC), including technical skills, trust and services availability. Data was collected from 189 customers sampled across different regions in Jordan and analyzed using Structural Equation Modeling (SEM). The findings revealed that technical skills and service availability are significant drivers for a TSC, whereas trust influence on TSC was not supported by the findings. The research has important implications for supply chain logistics managers. It recommends that simple, flexible and clear design should be considered in TSC implementation as these factors play a vital role in enhancing customer experience and patronage. Additionally, service availability for all customers anywhere seems an important mechanism that could ensure the sustainability of TSC services during the Coronavirus pandemic.
Niniejsze badanie ma na celu analizę kluczowych czynników napędzających transformacyjny łańcuch dostaw (TSC), w tym umiejętności technicznych, zaufania i dostępności usług. Dane zebrano od 189 klientów z różnych regionów Jordanii objętych próbą i przeanalizowano za pomocą modelowania równań strukturalnych (SEM). Ustalenia ujawniły, że umiejętności techniczne i dostępność usług są istotnymi czynnikami wpływającymi na TSC, podczas gdy wpływ zaufania na TSC nie został poparty tymi ustaleniami. Badania mają ważne implikacje dla menedżerów logistyki łańcucha dostaw. Zaleca, aby we wdrażaniu TSC uwzględnić prosty, elastyczny i przejrzysty projekt, ponieważ czynniki te odgrywają kluczową rolę w zwiększaniu doświadczenia klienta i patronatu. Ponadto dostępność usług dla wszystkich klientów w dowolnym miejscu wydaje się ważnym mechanizmem, który może zapewnić trwałość usług TSC podczas pandemii koronawirusa.

Driving a car is a task demanding particular competencies, which include: knowledge, skills and specific personality and mental traits. Every driver should posses: knowledge about traffic law regulations, practical skills of driving a vehicle, ability to predict traffic situations and, what is especially important, self-diagnosis ability. Those skills determine driving safety. Paper presents dangerous and aggressive driving behaviour on the roads. It describes characteristic features of drivers and type of offenses committed by them, as well as recognition of the scale and reasons for aggression in the road traffic. Paper includes detailed research results analyses of aggressive behaviour and its evaluation by road traffic controllers - police (408 persons), and by drivers participating in the demerit points reduction scheme (504 persons). Survey results indicate that drivers consciously break traffic law, underestimate danger, overestimate their own abilities, feel unpunished and they don't know traffic regulations well. All results shows that aggression is a frequent problem, especially concerning 18-39 year old group with wrong attitudes towards others road users. Importance of psychological testing of drivers, necessity of psycho-educational and preventive actions was pointed out in view of these circumstances. Research has allowed determining psychological reasons of the drivers' attitude and behaviour. Conclusions suggest undertaking activities and campaigns whose purpose is to change dangerous attitudes and habits and create re-education systems for the drivers who regularly break road traffic regulations.

This article introduces readers to the problems of mental predisposition for driving a vehicle. It discusses necessary physical and mental abilities which drivers need to behave appropriately during constantly changing road situations. The meaning of those tests for road safety prophylaxis is stressed. The author underlines the special significance of bringing back on 1st January 2004 periodic psychological tests for drivers. Their results are crucial – also for the drivers – in assessing their physical and mental capabilities, which change.

The Covid-19 pandemic impact all public spheres of city inhabitants' lives, also changed the conditions of traveling by public transport, especially in the field of personal passenger safety. The introduced limits on people in public transport vehicles and the need to maintain social distancing or cover the mouth and nose in a public transport vehicle - for various reasons - have been met with different understanding by users. The question then arose: are passengers actually complying with the rules of the pandemic when traveling by tram or bus? The paper attempts to assess the behavior of passengers, based on the opinions of people who observe these behaviors in their daily work, driving public transport vehicles. For this purpose, a survey was carried out among bus and tram drivers of the main public transport operator in Krakow. On the basis of 334 fulfilled questionnaires, it was found that - according to the drivers - passengers often quite freely approach the limits of people in vehicles, and often do not respect the social distancing, especially when alighting and boarding. However, what is optimistic, the drivers highly assessed their own safety when performing their official duties - which is extremely important in the context of ensuring the continuity of public transport during a pandemic. Only 10% of drivers considered that the current solutions to protect passengers (and drivers themselves) are sufficient, therefore they called for an increase in the scope of protective measures: an increase in the number of public transport courses (to keep existing passengers), the obligatory use of protective masks (instead of ineffective loosely obligation to cover the face and nose), or the introduction of closed driver cabins in buses (as in trams). The obtained research results are of a cognitive nature, they can be a supplement to the travel studies at this specific time. They can also provide support in taking action in the case of a return of the Covid-19 pandemic or similar incidents in the future.

Objectives: Studies involving simulators are increasingly popular. We examined to what extent exposure to a variety of test conditions on the simulator affects the level of mood and severity of simulator sickness. In addition, we were interested in finding out to what degree the changes in mood are associated with the severity of the symptoms of simulator sickness. Material and Methods: Twelve men (aged M: 29.8, SD: 4.26) participated in the study, performing two 30-minute tasks in a driving simulator truck (fixed-base and mobile platform). For measuring mood, the UMACL questionnaire was used, and to assess the severity of the symptoms of simulator sickness, the SSQ questionnaire was used. Mood and the severity of simulator sickness symptoms were measured 3 times during the study (pretest, 2 min and 0.5 h after the test). Results: Symptoms of nausea and disorientation occurred after the tests on both simulators. In the case of the mobile platform, exacerbation of the symptoms associated with oculomotor disturbances was observed. These symptoms were particularly severe 2 min after completion of the test on the simulator, and they persisted for at least 0.5 h after the end of the test. The correlations between simulator sickness and mood explained from 35% to 65% of the variance of these variables. In particular, a strong association was observed between the oculomotor disturbances and a decrease in energetic arousal. This refers both to the effect level and the duration of these symptoms. Conclusions: Simulator sickness is a major problem in the use of simulators in both the research and the training of operators. In the conditions involving the mobile platform, not only was a higher severity of the symptoms of simulator sickness observed, but also a decrease in energetic arousal. Therefore, the implementation of the mobile platform can provide an additional source of conflict at the level of incoming stimuli and changes in mood may increase this effect. Thus, it seems important to consider the tasks performed on the simulator in the context of utility and the purpose for which we use them.

Understanding of mechanisms and factors responsible for the driver behavior on the road is the subject of ongoing interest to transportation psychologists, occupational doctors and engineers. Models of driver behavior are a key point for the understanding the mechanisms and factors which may cause limitations to the optimal functioning on the road. They also systematize knowledge about the factors responsible for the behavior of the driver and thus constitute a starting point for formulating empirical or diagnostic hypotheses. Objectives Of all work stressors, occupational stress is the leading cause of many disorders among workers. Drivers are classified as a high risk group for work related stress. This study set out to determine the relationship between risk factors of cardiovascular diseases and occupational stress among drivers. Material and Methods Two hundred and twenty two Ilam’s intercity drivers were selected for the study. For measuring work stress, the Osipow work stress questionnaire was used. After a 10-h fasting period, systolic and diastolic blood pressure was recorded. Intravenous blood samples were taken to determine cholesterol, triglyceride and blood glucose levels. The independent samples t-test and Pearson’s correlation test were used to assess the relationship between variables and occupational stress. Results Seventy-one percent of the intercity drivers suffered from average to acute stress, and 3.1% of them suffered from acute stress. There was no significant relationship between occupational stress and diastolic blood pressure (p = 0.254) among the drivers. Nevertheless, the Pearson’s correlation test demonstrated a strong relationship between work stress and blood glucose (p < 0.01), while no strong correlation was found for blood triglycerides and cholesterol levels. Conclusions Based on the results, high rates of occupational stress were observed in the Ilam’s intercity drivers. Occupational stress may have effect on blood glucose levels but the results did not suggest a considerable relationship between risk factors of cardiovascular diseases and occupational stress among intercity drivers. Planowanie, rejestrowanie i kontrolowanie czasu pracy kierowców to ważne i trudne zadania, z którymi na co dzień mają do czynienia przedsiębiorstwa zajmujące się przewozem ładunków oraz pasażerów transportem drogowym. Czas pracy kierowców z jednej strony ma związek z efektywnością realizacji kontraktu, a w konsekwencji wpływ na wynagrodzenie, z drugiej natomiast – wywiera bezpośredni wpływ na bezpieczeństwo ruchu drogowego. W związku z tym przepisy regulujące go ulegają licznym nowelizacjom, a nad ich przestrzeganiem czuwa Państwowa Inspekcja Pracy i Inspekcja Transportu Drogowego. W artykule, oprócz przeglądu głównych aktów prawnych reglamentujących czas pracy kierowców oraz kary za nieprzestrzeganie tych przepisów, zostało przedstawione studium przypadku dotyczące analizy możliwych konsekwencji łamania tego prawa na przykładzie wybranej firmy transportowej.
Planning, registration and controlling drivers' working time are important and difficult tasks that companies dealing with the road transport carriage of cargo and passengers face on a daily basis. The working time of drivers, on the one hand, is related to the efficiency of contract performance and consequently the impact on remuneration, on the other hand, it has a direct impact on the road safety. Therefore, the regulations on the road safety are subject to numerous amendments and the National Labor Inspectorate and the Road Transport Inspectorate supervises their observance. In this article, apart from the review of the main legal acts regulating the drivers' work time and the penalty for non-compliance with these provisions, a case study was presented on the analysis of the possible consequences of violating this right on the example of a selected transport company.

W pracy przedstawiono metodę i wyniki badań prędkości pojazdów w aspekcie wydatkowania ich energii kinetycznej podczas zawodowego szkolenia kierowców. Analizę oparto o obliczenia statystyczne odpowiednio dużej liczby obwiedni oscylogramu prędkości dobowego zapisu tachograficznego. Miejscem przeprowadzanych badań była miejska infrastruktura (powiatowa).
The paper presents a method and the results of the investigation of the vehicles' speed in the aspect of spending its kinetic energy while professional training the drivers. The analysis was based on statistical calculations of suitably large number of the oscillogram of a tachographic recording. The municipal district infrastructure was the place where the investigations were carried out.
