Opis:
A disparity servoing based fast autofocusing method is proposed for stereomicroscopes according to linear relationship between the disparity change in stereomicroscopic images and the move distance of a motorized translation stage. For a certain stereomicroscope, the calibration of a disparity range of clear images at each magnification is implemented offline. After that, the disparity of the stereomicroscopic image is used as an index to represent the sharpness of an arbitrary image. If the disparity does not satisfy the requirement, move steps and direction of a step motor are calculated by utilizing the linear relationship between the disparity change and the move distance of the stage. The iteration will be continued until the disparity of the captured stereomicroscopic image approximates to the clearest disparity. The experimental results show that the proposed method only requires a few iterations and less time to reach the focus position, and the disparity error is less than 0.5 pixel.

China’s economic transformation process, which started in 1978 under the banner of the Four Modernizations, is the deepest transformation in the long history of this country. The Communist Party of China carries out modernization in some areas, while limiting changes in others. Economic development has been undoubtedly impressive, but also unbalanced. It created problems such as inequality and social contrasts between urban and rural areas, as well as between coast and interior provinces, the division of the society into different categories of citizens, and corruption. There is also the question about the relationship between economic development and democratization. The article is an introduction to explain these phenomena.

The aim of the presented work was the development of a tracking algorithm for a stereoscopic camera setup equipped with an additional inertial sensor. The input of the algorithm consists of the image sequence, angular velocity and linear acceleration vectors measured by the inertial sensor. The main assumption of the project was fusion of data streams from both sources to obtain more accurate ego-motion estimation. An electronic module for recording the inertial sensor data was built. Inertial measurements allowed a coarse estimation of the image motion field that has reduced its search range by standard image-based methods. Continuous tracking of the camera motion has been achieved (including moments of image information loss). Results of the presented study are being implemented in a currently developed obstacle avoidance system for visually impaired pedestrians.

The latest Triassic is notable for coinciding with the dramatic decline of many previously dominant groups, followed by the rapid radiation of Dinosauria in the Early Jurassic. Among the most common terrestrial vertebrates from this time, sauropodomorph dinosaurs provide an important insight into the changing dynamics of the biota across the Triassic–Jurassic boundary. The Elliot Formation of South Africa and Lesotho preserves the richest assemblage of sauropodomorphs known from this age, and is a key index assemblage for biostratigraphic correlations with other similarly-aged global terrestrial deposits. Past assessments of Elliot Formation biostratigraphy were hampered by an overly simplistic biozonation scheme which divided it into a lower “Euskelosaurus” Range Zone and an upper Massospondylus Range Zone. Here we revise the zonation of the Elliot Formation by: (i) synthesizing the last three decades’ worth of fossil discoveries, taxonomic revision, and lithostratigraphic investigation; and (ii) systematically reappraising the stratigraphic provenance of important fossil locations. We then use our revised stratigraphic information in conjunction with phylogenetic character data to assess morphological disparity between Late Triassic and Early Jurassic sauropodomorph taxa. Our results demonstrate that the Early Jurassic upper Elliot Formation is considerably more taxonomically and morphologically diverse than previously thought. In contrast, the sauropodomorph fauna of the Late Triassic lower Elliot Formation remains relatively poorly understood due to the pervasive incompleteness of many key specimens, as well as the relative homogeneity of their diagnostic character suites. Our metrics indicate that both Elliot Formation and global sauropodomorph assemblages had greater morphological disparity within the Early Jurassic than the Late Triassic. This result is discussed in the context of changing palaeoclimatic conditions, as well as macroevolutionary events associated with the end-Triassic extinction.

The author who for the first time found himself in China 10 years ago as a fresh graduate of sociology, describes the dynamic changes which, during that time took place in that country. This sociological account, is drawn on personal experiences and also on the famous sentences regarding the history of China “the empire, long divided, must unite, long united, must divide.” The basic question is, will China-whose economic and civilization disparities were clearly exposed in the last decade, and cultural differences between provinces, traditional and ever existing in that country, have overlapped-find a way of preventing its disintegration in several regions? The article shows that advantages of China’s globalization and opening to the world have been disposed irregularly, dividing the country into the rich East, the Interior supplying cheap manpower, and the West integrated with the rest of the country but largely inhabited by ethnic minorities. Also the East of the country, a beneficiary more of globalization than transformation, is divided into four zones of development concentrated around North-East China, Beijing, Shanghai and Guangzhou, each of the four with a different adaptive strategy in the face of globalization and quite often competing for investments, markets and young talents. Nevertheless the author believes that China’s disintegration would be “irrational,” as its integrity is supported by the logic of globalization, in which a merger of a few organisms helps solve global problems and brings profits-even if they are spread irregularly-to all Chinese provinces and, what is most important, it gives China an international status of superpower, which realizes the interests of its thirty-one provinces at the international arena more effectively than any of those provinces could do on its own, without the support of the others.

The problem of ensuring the safe and efficient cranes operations in automated manufacturing processes involves the needs of the operating workspace identification, especially in the automation mode. However, this paper describes the problem of overhead travelling crane's workspace identification with the stereovision. Main authors’ attention was focused on the stereo pictures matching problem through optimization exist disparity computation methods with algorithms optimization by completion with implement correlation matching algorithms. The stereo system is based on the single camera localized under the crane trolley that allows obtaining the sequences of stereo snapshots of crane workspace during the crane or trolley movement. Typically, disparity was produce by calculating the displacement of each pixel of the stereo image along an epipolar line. The disparity software optimization was based on matching algorithms architecture. In this article, the disparity optimization procedure achieved by produce disparity on the ROI (Region of Interest) method is described. Disparity was obtained with the help of sets homologous pixels collections. These sets were determinate with variety kind of similarity measures, which was implemented to disparity search algorithm. Each disparity map (based on the separate similarity measure) was tested under outward appearance and computing time criteria.

Visual servoing define a new methodology for vision based control in robotics. Vision based action involve number of actions that move a robot in response of results of camera analysis. This process is important to operate and help robot to achieve a specific goal. The main purpose of visual servoing consists of considering a vision system by specific sensor dedicated to involve control servo loop and task. In this article, three visual control scheme: Image Based Visual Servoing (IBVS), Position Based Visual Servoing (PBVS) and Hybrid Based Visual Servoing (HBVS) are illustrated. The different terminologies are represented through effective workflow of robot vision. IBVS method concentrate on the image features that are immediately available in the image. This experiment is performed by estimating distance between camera and object. PBVS consist of moving object 3-D parameters to estimate measurement. This paper showcases PBVS using kuka robot model. HBVS uses the 2D and 3D servoing by combining visual sensors also it overcomes challenges of previous two methods. This paper represents HBVS method using IPR communication robot model.

Objectives: To apply syndemic theory to investigate the risk of hepatitis C virus (HCV) infection in the US population. Methods: National representative data were from the National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey. We extracted and aggregated data on HCV antibody test, sociodemographic characteristics, alcohol and drug use, depression, sexual behaviour and sexually transmitted illnesses from 2005-2006 to 2011-2012. The study sample was restricted to men and women aged 20-59 years given the upper age limit of the risk factors used for the analysis. Results: Overall, 11,593 people were included in the analysis (52.2% female). Higher prevalence of HCV, excessive alcohol consumption and drug use were found in men. Men also had higher odds of HCV in comparison to women among younger (20-39 years old) OR 1.37 (95%CI 1.36-1.37) and middle-aged adults (40-59 years old) OR 2.04 (95%CI 2.03-2.04). Among younger adults, non-Hispanic black and Hispanic people were found to have a lower likelihood of testing positive, OR 0.35 (95%CI 0.35-0.35) and OR 0.30 (95%CI 0.30-0.30), respectively. However, in the middle-aged adults non-Hispanic black people were found to have a higher likelihood of testing positive OR 1.45 (95%CI 1.45-1.46). Analysis showed that for each additional risk factor associated with HCV infection there is an additional increase in the risk OR 1.55 (95%CI 1.55-1.55). Conclusions: For every additional risk factor for HCV a person is exposed to, the overall risk of HCV increases.

The structure of Polish household expenditure in the areas with worse economic indicators does not differ much from the expenditures of those households which are located in the regions of good economic indicators. It can be assumed that the reason for the lack of differences is taken out loans and credits. The main goal of this article is to explore the differences between households in Poland. The first criterion of differentiation is loans and credits and the second one – the subjective assessment of the economic situation of a household. It was assumed that the reasons for crediting will be different in the households in a worse economic situation from those which assess their situation better. The hypothesis formulated in this way allowed using the classification of households based on Subjective poverty line including the differences in credit goals by regions.

Through this contribution we focus on the social inclusion of marginalised Romany communities into the society mainstream. With their lifestyle, Romany population is differentiated, in a way, from the life of the majority society. Mutual social consequences are concluded for both sides from this diversity that has always been and is the target of many policies, though none of them has succeeded in solving the Romany issue. From this viewpoint it is inevitable to gradually find answers to so far unasked questions because the tendency of this diversity is only progressive and tension between the majority and minority societies is growing stronger. The author of this article tries to bring closer policies’ strategic intentions and shows the inevitability to introduce a complex and multi-dimensional approach focused on gradual inclusion of Romany marginalised communities into the majority society, which is a very lengthy and demanding process.

A super depth of field height measurement method is proposed to measure the object height with the optical stereoscopic microscope. The quasi-Euclidean epipolar rectification algorithm is utilized on the original stereoimage to obtain rectified stereoimages and calibrate two camera parameters. Then, feature points are obtained by the SURF (speed up robust feature) algorithm and their corresponding disparities are calculated. The disparity-depth of field curve is fitted by combining the step height values of a stepper motor. Moreover, through local disparity value got from feature points on the object, the relative shift height is calculated through regression analysis. Finally, according to binocular vision geometry, the thickness of the object can be calculated. Experimental results show that the measurement error in Z direction is from 1.51% to 7.71%, which indicates that the proposed method is able to measure the height of a microobject beyond depth of field within a tolerant error.
