This paper is to develop the position error equations including the attitude errors, the errors of nadir and ship’s heading, and the errors of ship’s position in the free-gyro positioning and directional system. In doing so, the determination of ship’s position by two free gyro vectors was discussed and the algorithmic design of the free-gyro positioning and directional system was introduced briefly. Next, the errors of transformation matrices of the gyro and body frames, i.e., attitude errors, were examined and the attitude equations were also derived. The perturbations of the errors of the nadir angle including ship’s heading were investigated in each stage from the sensor of rate of motion of the spin axis to the nadir angle obtained. Finally, the perturbation error equations of ship’s position used the nadir angles were derived in the form of a linear error model and the concept of FDOP was also suggested by using covariance of position error.

There are uninvestigated areas connected with behaviour of elements in hydraulic systems with different structures. Unawareness of proportions of the energy, volumetric, pressure and mechanical losses in elements is often the case. Problems connected with energy efficiency are essential for improvement of functionality and quality of hydrostatic drive systems, characterised by unquestioned advantages but also by relatively low efficiency in comparison with other types of drive. Energy efficiency of hydrostatic transmissions, particularly those with throttling control of the motor speed, and also efficiency of the hydraulic servo-mechanism systems may be in fact higher than the values most often quoted in publications on the subject. Possibility of calculating the real value of the hydraulic system overall efficiency as a function of many parameters influencing it, becomes a tool of complete evaluation of the designed system quality. The paper compares efficiencies of systems with cylinder proportional control and efficiency of the system volumetric control by a variable capacity pump. Presented are also two schematic diagrams of the investigated hydrostatic systems, their principle of operation and problems of studying losses in elements and energy efficiency of systems consisting of a feed assembly, control set and cylinder.

Energy efficiency of hydrostatic transmissions, and especially efficiencies of drives with motor speed controlled by throttle, as well as efficiency of hydraulic servomechanisms can in fact be higher than the efficiency values most frequently given by the respective literature in this field. With the progress achieved in recent years in the development of hydraulic systems it is becoming necessary to develop methods for precise energy efficiency calculation of such systems. It is difficult to imagine that more and more, better and better machines and control elements could be used without the possibility of a mathematical tool at our disposal to enable an accurate analysis and assessment of behavior of the system in which such machines and control elements have been applied. The paper discusses energy savings using mathematical model of losses in elements, the energy efficiency of the system. There are possibilities to reduce energy losses in proportional control systems (in the pump, in the throttle control unit, especially in the cylinder), and thus to improve the energy efficiency of the throttling manifold. The considerations allow for comparison of the loss power resulting from the applied hydraulic control structure of the hydraulic cylinder and the power consumed by the pump from the electric motor that drives it, the power necessary to provide pump-driven hydraulic cylinder. The article shows the impact on the output (useful) power consumed in the considered systems, and the impact on the power consumed of the loss power in the individual elements. The paper presents also formulas of loss power, formulas of energy efficiency connected with investigated hydrostatic drives, two schematic diagrams of hydraulic systems, their principle of operation and problems of studying losses in elements and energy efficiency characteristics of systems consisting of a feed assembly, control set and cylinder. It also includes a subject matter connected with an energy loss power of hydrostatic systems with hydraulic cylinder controlled by proportional directional control valve. Diagrams of loss power of two hydraulic systems worked at the same parameters of speed and load of a cylinder, which were different due to structure and ability of energy saving, were presented and compared.

This article presents results of investigations of the angle of directional hearing acuity (ADHA) as a measure of the spatial hearing ability with a special emphasis on people with hearing impairments. A modified method proposed by Zakrzewski has been used – ADHA values have been determined for 8 azimuths in the horizontal plane at the height of the listeners’ head. The two-alternative-forced-choice method (2AFC), based on a new system of listeners’ responses (left – right instead of no difference – difference in location of sound sources) was the procedure used in the experiment. Investigations were carried out for two groups of subjects: normal hearing people (9 persons) and hearing impaired people (sensorineural hearing loss and tinnitus – 9 persons). In the experiment different acoustic signals were used: sinu- soidal signals (pure tones), 1/3 octave noise, amplitude modulated 1/3 octave noise, CCITT speech and traffic noises and signals corresponding to personal character of tinnitus for individual subjects. The results obtained in the investigations showed, in general, a better localization of the sound source for noise type signals than those for tonal signals. Inessential differences exist in ADHA values for particular signals between the two groups of subjects. On the other hand, significant differences for tinnitus signals and traffic noise signals were stated. A new system of listeners’ responses was used and appeared efficient (less dispersion of results compared to the standard system).

In the paper are presented the diagrams of the structural energy efficiency of system with the throttling control assembly and total energy efficiency of the system with constant or variable capacity pump cooperating an overflow valve with the throttling control of the linear hydraulic motor. Diagrams of total energy efficiency of three hydraulic systems working at the same parameters of speed and load of hydraulic linear motor, which were different due to structure and ability of energy saving were presented and compared. This publication also presents analyses and compares the areas of the power fields of energy losses occurring in the elements of three compared hydraulic systems with different structures of the hydraulic linear motor speed control on example on Load Sensing system. The graphical interpretation of the power of losses in the hydrostatic drive and control system elements lets to compare the same power fields of energy losses with other power fields of another structure. This enables to understand what energy losses are the biggest and in which elements of compared hydraulic systems. The best possibility to use in system, as a supply source of the hydraulic cylinder speed series throttling control assembly, is a set consisting of a variable capacity pump cooperating with a Load Sensing (LS) regulator, which totally eliminates the structural volumetric losses in a system. Power ΔPstv of structural volumetric losses is equal to zero, because the current pump capacity QP is adjusted, by the LS regulator, to the current flow intensity QM set by the throttling assembly.

The article is describing model projects, and simulation analysis of the antennas intended for the cooperation with wireless network cards working in the Wi-Fi standard, reported as applications for acquiring the protection right to the utility models. The projects assumed designing the omnidirectional antenna, and the directional one, providing the maximum possible value of amplifying the signal, at the simultaneous keeping the smallnesses of the size, so that the antennas could work in room conditions. Models, and simulations were performed with the help of a non-commercial program 4nec2, based on the method of moments. Moreover, for an every model, there was drawn up a model of the system fitting the impedance of the antenna to the signal line about the impedance of 50Ω.
W pracy zostały przedstawione założenia bezprzewodowego systemu diagnostycznego będącego przedmiotem zgłoszenia patentowego [5]. System ten wykorzystuje w nadajniku metodę rozwijania sygnałów w szereg Fouriera.

With the wide use of AIS system in the world, especially in ports and the waters with heavy traffic, AIS message loss may be related to environmental conditions, obstacle, limitation of VHF technology and AIS network overload, thereby reducing the AIS signal successful reception rate. This paper selected typical AIS data received by Yagi and Omni antennas at the same time in specific waters, uses grid and AIS data recovery technology, establishes the AIS signal coverage model, analyzes signal reception rate of Yagi antenna and Omni antenna of AIS base station, and verified the superiority of Yagi antenna in AIS signal reception rate.

A control system with a proportional directional throttling control valve or a directional control servo valve, controlling a cylinder (linear hydraulic motor) is used in the ship steering gear drive, in the controllable pitch propeller control, in the variable capacity pump control system for hydraulic deck equipment motors or fixed pitch propellers in small ships (for example ferries). The hydraulic system is designed first of all taking into consideration the nominal parameters of the cylinder load and speed. For such parameters, the energy efficiency of the elements and complete system is described. Meanwhile the exploitation conditions can vary in full range changes of the cylinder load and speed coefficients. The article presents a comparison of the energy behaviour of two widespread structures of hydrostatic systems: a standard individual systems with a throttling steering fed by a constant capacity pump. Both hydraulic solutions are described and equations of the total efficiency η of the system are presented. Diagrams of energy efficiency of two hydraulic systems working at the same parameters of a speed and a load of hydraulic linear motor, which were different due to structure are presented and compared, as well ability of energy saving. This publication also presents analyses and compares the areas of the power fields of energy losses occurring in the elements of two hydraulic systems with different structures of the hydraulic linear motor speed control.

Współczesne wymagania dotyczące niezawodności dostaw energii elektrycznej rodzą konieczność prowadzenia badań diagnostycznych i monitorowania poprawności działania pracujących urządzeń elektroenergetycznych. Występujące defekty linii napowietrznych oraz urządzeń stacji elektroenergetycznych, charakteryzujące się podwyższeniem wartości lokalnego natężenia pola elektrycznego ponad wartość krytyczną powodują powstawanie wyładowań niezupełnych, w różnych ich formach. Pozwala to stosować, w celu wykrywania i lokalizowania defektów, metody antenowe, z detekcją szerokopasmową w zakresach VHF/UHF. W artykule dokonano przeglądu zastosowań układów szerokopasmowej detekcji antenowej w diagnostyce urządzeń elektroenergetycznych. Przedstawiono wyniki badań laboratoryjnych wybranych układów detekcji kierunkowej, służących wykrywaniu różnych form wyładowań elektrycznych w powietrzu poprzez detekcję impulsowych zaburzeń elektromagnetycznych.
Contemporary requirements for a reliable supply of electricity generate the need for diagnostics and monitoring of proper operation of working electrical power equipment. Defects occurring in transmission lines and substations devices, characterized by the increase of the local electric field strength above the critical value, cause the formation of partial discharges (PD), in their various forms. In order to detect and locate defects it is possible to use wideband antenna methods for PD pulses detection in the VHF/UHF range. The article reviews the applications of wideband antenna detection systems in the diagnosis of the electrical power devices. The results of laboratory tests of selected directional detection systems applied for location of various forms of electrical discharges in the air, by detecting pulsed electromagnetic disturbances, are presented.

This paper develops a new approach to double fault isolation in linear systems with the aid of directional residuals. The method of residual generation for computational as well as internal forms is applied. Isolation of double faults is based on the investigation of the coplanarity of the residual vector with the planes defined by the individual pairs of directional fault vectors. Additionally, the method of designing secondary residuals, which are structured and directional, is proposed. These transformations allow achieving various isolation properties. It is shown that double fault distinguishability can be improved by decomposing the observed residual vector along the response directions. The described methods are illustrated with a simple computational example.

Purpose: The specifics of the influence of alloying elements on the chemical composition of various types of carbides, their topology and morphology for a multicomponent system of the type Ni-5Cr-9Co-6Al-1Ti-11.7W-1.1Mo-1.6Nb-0.15C using the calculation method CALPHAD. It is shown that the obtained dependences closely correlate with thermodynamic processes occurring in the system. Design/methodology/approach: This work presents the results of studies of the distribution of chemical elements in the composition of carbides, depending on their content in the system. Findings: It was found that the influence of alloying elements on the composition of carbides is complex and is described by complex. Research limitations/implications: An essential problem is the prediction of the structure and properties of heat-resistant alloys without or with a minimum number of experiments. Practical implications: The obtained dependences can be used both for designing new heat-resistant alloys and for improving the compositions of industrial alloys. Originality/value: The value of this work is that the obtained dependences of the influence of alloying elements on the dissolution (precipitation) temperatures and the distribution of elements in carbides in the alloy of the Ni-5Cr-9Co-6Al-1Ti-11.7W-1.1Mo-1.6Nb-0.15C.

Opis:
The energy storage system (ESS) is an important way to improve the power quality of renewable energy sources (such as solar energy and wind energy). A bi-directional DC/DC converter is an essential part of the ESS to achieve bi-directional energy transfer. According to the characteristics of the low-voltage gain and high-voltage stress of switches in the existing bi-directional DC/DC converter, this study proposes a novel two-phase interleaved parallel bi-directional DC/DC converter. The converter can effectively combine the advantages of a Z-source network and interleaved parallel structure. The working principle, the boost mode and buck mode of the converter are analyzed in detail. In addition, the voltage conversion ratios under the two modes are deduced. The control strategy of the two-phase interleaved parallel bi-directional DC/DC converter is introduced in detail. Furthermore, the main working waveforms of the system under each working mode are verified by building a simulation experiment model using MATLAB/Simulink. The simulation results show that the system has advantages of high-voltage gain, low-voltage stress of switches and automatic current sharing between inductors.

Opis:
Dynamic parameters characterizing proportional hydraulic components are essential factors affecting the performance of the construction machinery automatic control system. Knowledge of these parameters is inevitable in modelling the automatically controlled hydraulic power systems as well as designing and analysing the control algorithms. This article presents a methodology of assessing the dynamic parameters of selected components being part of digitally controlled hydraulic power system. The analysed system comprised a typical for mobile hydraulics applications PVG32 proportional directional control valve (DCV) and a variable displacement piston pump. The control system utilised an MC088 PLC controller with specifically prepared and configured software. The measuring system was based on CANbus, which, combined with the PLC used, allowed for flexible configuration of the sensor variables and logging both analogue and digital signals. Among others, the DCV characteristics, the response to step and sinusoidal inputs and DCV hysteresis were examined. The goal was to gather the data required for system modelling and to assess the importance and influence of the investigated parameters onto the model being created.
