W tekście poruszone zostają zagadnienia zróżnicowania kulturowego, pluralizmu i wielokulturowości. Przyczyny popularności tych pojęć, zarówno w dyskursie naukowym, polityce jak i praktykach społeczno- edukacyjnych są analogiczne do tych, jakie legły u podstaw renesansu idei regionalizmu, lokalności i „małych ojczyzn”. W artykule podjęto próbę nakreślenia obrazu Płocka jako miasta wielokulturowego w perspektywie etnologiczno-historycznej. Zostaje też postawione pytanie czy i w jakim sensie Płock jest miastem wielokulturowym dzisiaj.
The paper discusses issues of cultural diversity, pluralism and multiculturalism. The reasons for the popularity of these terms in scientific discourse, politics and social and educational practices are analogous to those which underlay Renaissance ideas of regionalism, locality and “little homelands”. The article is an attempt to depict Płock as a multicultural town from ethnological and historical perspective. A question whether Płock is a multicultural town today and in what sense has also been formulated.

Two joint conferences on widely comprehended heritage were held on 22-25 October 2008. The First European Heritage Forum on “Heritage and Dialogue”, which took place on 22-24 October, is a joint undertaking of the Council of Europe and the European Commission. The forum involved numerous panel discussions and “round tables” considering the progress of the inter-cultural dialogue and its connections with heritage. The Polish participants shared, i. a. information about the activity of the National Heritage Board of Poland, primarily as regards the EDD organisation and educational projects addressed to children and young people. The outcome of the debates will be edited and published. The annual meeting of EDD coordinators was held on 25 October. The event was shorter, lasted one day, and was limited basically to a presentation of Belgian accomplishments. The discussions conducted by the participants offered an opportunity for exchanging information about this year’s edition of EDD in Poland. It was proposed that the annual meeting of EDD coordinators in 2011 should be hosted by Poland upon the occasion of Polish presidency in the European Union. The suggestion was initially accepted, and since the annual meetings will be probably closely associated with the European Heritage Forum, Poland would be the site of two conferences simultaneously.

W artykule podjęto zagadnienie relacji między dialogiem kultur a dialogiem religii. Analiza pojęcia religii i pojęcia kultury pokazała, że ich treści są ze sobą ściśle powiązane. Nie ma religii bez kultury ani kultury bez religii. Dlatego pojawiający się czasem postulat zastąpienia dialogu międzyreligijnego dialogiem międzykulturowym jest bezpodstawny. Dialog kultur bez dialogu religii jest niemożliwy. Aby dialog mógł zaistnieć, muszą być spełnione odpowiednie warunki. Jednym z nich jest dążenie do prawdy. Prawda ma jednak charakter inkluzywny, a nie ekskluzywny. Dlatego w religii nie ma miejsca na przemoc w imię prawdy. Dla chrześcijan prawda ma charakter osobowy. Jest nią Jezus Chrystus – Zbawiciel „polifoniczny” (Klemens Aleksandryjski).
The article deals with the relationship between the dialogue of cultures and the dialogue of religions. The analysis of the concept of religion and culture shows that their contents are closely related to each other. There is no religion without culture nor culture without religion. Therefore, demand emerging sometimes to replace interreligious dialogue with intercultural dialogue is unfounded. A dialogue of cultures without a dialogue of religions is impossible. In order for a dialogue to take place, appropriate conditions must be met. One of them is the pursuit of truth. However, the truth is inclusive, not exclusive. Therefore, in religion there is no room for violence in the name of truth. For Christians, truth has a personal character. It is Jesus Christ, the “polyphonic” Saviour (Clement of Alexandria).

Autorka dáva pozor na translatologické problémy vyplyvajúce zo špecifiky originálu, v ktorom dialóg kultúr funguje vnútorne v texte. Prispevok uvažuje o translatologických problémoch, sústreduje pozornosť na kľúčových textových signáloch, významných elementoch štruktúry textu, ktoré definujú hranice sémantiky originálu. Autorka určuje spôsob interpretácie a transferu sémantiky originálu v preklade. Zaujima ju, akým spôsobom sa prekladateľovi Haličských poviedok podarilo preložiť aspekt zmiešania kultúr.
The article deals with the question of intercultural dialogue in Slovak translation of Andrzej Stasiuk book under the title "Opowieści galicyjskie". The author draws attention to translation problems resulting from the peculiarity of origin, in which a dialog of many cultures decides about the inner structure of a text. The author discusses translation problems focuses on text signals, significant structure elements which state the limits of semantic area of the origin. It defines the way of reading and transfering the sense of origin implied in translation. The author considers what extent the translator of Opowieści galicyjskie managed to transfer in translation the aspects of cultures mix up and coexistence.

The author points out that the idea of multiculturalism could not produce the expected effects, since the educational mechanisms of intercultural dialogue were not developed. In this context, the responsibility of education for shaping the process of dialogue is introduced. It starts with the abolition of the myth about the fall of the idea of multiculturalism and ends with the need to revitalize heterology, cosmopolitanism and transnationality. The first part of the text emphasizes the problem of marginalization of important problems related to the formation of multicultural societies and, in this context, also the responsibility of education for the creation of a culture of peace. Next, attention is paid to the need to give meaning to the philosophy of dialogue and to engage in internal dialogue in order to “liberate” oneself from military thoughts. It is pointed out that there is a need for active participation in three types of the dialogue (concerning information, negotiation and creation of humanity and peace). In the final part of the text, the Author emphasizes the responsibility of education for shaping and supporting the development of transnational and transcultural human beings in the ongoing dialogue of cultures.
Autor zwraca uwagę, że idee wielokulturowości nie mogły przynieść oczekiwanych efektów, gdyż nie ukształtowano edukacyjnych mechanizmów dialogu międzykulturowego. W tym kontekście przedstawia odpowiedzialność edukacji za kształtowanie procesu dialogu, poczynając od niwelowania mitu o upadku idei multikulturalizmu, a kończąc na potrzebie rewitalizacji heterologii, kosmopolityzmu, transnarodowości. W pierwszej części tekstu podkreślono problem marginalizacji istotnych problemów, związanych z kształtowaniem się społeczeństw wielokulturowych i w tym kontekście z odpowiedzialnością edukacji za kreowanie kultury pokoju. Następnie zwrócono uwagę na potrzebę nadania znaczenia filozofii dialogu, prowadzenia dialogu wewnętrznego z samym sobą, aby „wyzwolić” się z myślenia militarnego. Wskazano na potrzebę aktywnego uczestnictwa w trzech rodzajach dialogu (informacyjnym, negocjacyjnym o kreującym rozwój ludzkości i zachowanie pokoju). W końcowej części podkreślono odpowiedzialność edukacji za kształtowanie i wspieranie w rozwoju człowieka będącego w ustawicznym dialogu kultur, człowieka transnarodowego i transkulturowego.

Institutional theatres in Sapmi have a relatively brief history but they are based upon traditional cultural heritage (the yoik, the art of storytelling, shamanistic seances). At the same time they are open to impulses from other cultures and theatrical traditions (European and non-European) that contribute to the distinct features of Samic theatrical performance when it comes to texts, the aesthetics of performance, and acting traditions. The article outlines the Samic theatre landscape in general and then proceeds to focus on the multicultural aspects of "Ridn'oaivi ja nieguid oaidni", a performance by the Beaivváš Sami Teáhter. The article also calls attention to the problematic nature of the concept "cultural dialogue" in a situation when the borderlines between individual cultures are no longer obvious, and when it is no longer easy to identify the partners in a dialogue unequivocally.

Ideą przewodnią zaprezentowanych rozważań jest kultura rozumiana jako podłoże wszelkich działań pozwalających manifestować i dookreślać etniczną tożsamość człowieka. Artykuł podejmuje również problematykę etnopedagogiki, analizowaną przez pryzmat współczesnej przestrzeni społeczno-politycznej oraz zachodzących w niej dynamicznych procesów narodowościowych i etnicznych. Możliwości podjęcia dialogu z „innym” autor upatruje w obustronnej akceptacji wyznawanych systemów wartości przez wszystkie uczestniczące w nim strony oraz w działaniach edukacyjnych i artystycznych, ułatwiających poznanie i zrozumienie specyfiki różnego rodzaju odmienności.
The guiding idea of the presented considerations is culture understood as the substrate of all activities allowing for manifesting and defining human ethnic identity. The article also addresses the issue of ethnopedagogy, analyzed through the prism of the contemporary socio-political space and the dynamic national and ethnic processes taking place within it. The author notices the possibility of entering the dialogue with ’the other‘ in the mutual acceptance of shared value systems by all parties involved, as well as in educational and artistic activities that facilitate cognition and understanding of the specificity of various types of otherness.

The subject of the article is the role of films in intercultural dialogue. Filmmakers follow the causes of intra-cultural tensions, talk about the impossibility of assimilation, nostalgia for their country, or family relations. Contemporary cinema takes part in the dialogue of cultures, critically analyses complex intercultural relations and provides an important voice in the discussion of values resulting from diversity. By talking about intercultural relations, filmmakers contribute to strengthening the dialogue of cultures. Dialogue with other cultures also requires educational measures, and one of the educational tools to respect cultural diversity is film.
Przedmiotem rozważań zwartych w artykule jest rola filmów w dialogu międzykulturowym. Filmowcy śledzą przyczyny napięć wewnątrzkulturowych, opowiadają o niemożności asymilacji, nostalgii za krajem ojczystym czy relacjach rodzinnych. Współczesne kino bierze udział w dialogu kultur, krytycznie analizuje skomplikowane relacje międzykulturowe i stanowi ważny głos w dyskusji o wartościach wynikających z różnorodności. Opowiadając o relacjach międzykulturowych, filmowcy wnoszą wkład w umacnianie dialogu kultur. Dialog z innymi kulturami wymaga także podjęcia działań edukacyjnych, a jednym z narzędzi edukacji do poszanowania kulturowej różnorodności może być film.

Autor studie se zabývá problematikou překládání současné polské literatury do češtiny po roce 1989. Připomíná některá fakta z literárního života posledních dvaceti let a analyzuje některé texty současné polské prózy, které byly přeloženy do češtiny. Překladům ani jejich překladatelům není garantováno, že překlady vyjdou tiskem, neexistuje ani systematické vydávání polské literatury v ČR. Na druhé straně se objevují vydané překlady, jež mohou českému čtenáři ukázat Poláka a současné Polsko v úplně jiném image než kdysi. Badatel připomíná prózu Masłowské, která českému čtenáři přiblíží subkulturu „dreserów”, což si vyžaduje od překladatele, který chce do cílového jazyka přeložit veškerý kontext, aby našel odekvátní styl a princip. Poněkud jinak se diskutuje o obrazu Poláků J. Witkowskiego, který se ve svých textech dívá na specifickou komunitu gayů. Konečně na posledním příkladu autor ukazuje, jak M. Szczygiel pohlíží z pohledu Poláka na dějiny Čechů v XX. století (próza "Gottland"). Autor připomíná rovněž fakt, že v obou literárních kulturách probíhají analogické procesy (tematika, výběr jazykových prostředků).
In his paper, the author deals with the topic of rendering the contemporary Polish literature, created after the year 1989, into the Czech language. He reminds the reader of certain facts from the literary life of the last 20 years and analyses certain texts of the contemporary Polish prose which were translated into Czech. It is not guaranteed that the outcome of numerous translations will be ever printed. What is more, Polish literature is not systematically published in the Czech Republic. On the other hand, the translations which have been published may show a Czech reader Polish people and the contemporary Poland in a different light than it was done earlier. The researcher quotes D. Maslowska’s prose, who introduces a Czech reader to the subculture of „dreserzy”(„dresiarze”), which requires a translator to find an adequate style and language in order to render the whole context into the target language. Another approach to the issue of shattering the image of Poles has been taken by J. Witkowski, who looks at the specific gay community in his texts. Finally, in the last example, the author shows how M. Szczygiel, a Pole, views the Czech history in the XXth century (the prose "Gottland"). The author also mentions the fact that there have been analogicalprocesses in both literary cultures (subject matter, selection of means of literature, etc.).

Przedmiotem rozważań zawartych w artykule są wybrane obszary kultury filmowej skupiające się na problematyce Innego. Refleksja nad rolą filmu w spotkaniu z Innym stanowi próbę znalezienia odpowiedzi na pytanie, jak i w jakim celu wybrane filmy dokumentalne i fabularne ukazują Innego. Twórcy filmowi coraz częściej poruszają tematykę dotyczącą wielokulturowości, odmienności etnicznych czy kryzysu migracyjnego. W obliczu narastających problemów dotyczących braku tolerancji, szacunku czy wrogości wobec Innego film może być pomocny w kształtowaniu postaw otwartości na inność, opartych na uniwersalnych wartościach, na szacunku do różnorodności kulturowej i etnicznej. Filmy stanowią medium umożliwiające spotkanie z drugą osobą (Innym), pozwalają na prezentację i wymianę rozmaitych wartości i perspektyw. Filmowcy nie proponują systemowych rozwiązań, ale wykorzystują kamerę jako jedno z narzędzi zmiany; przez ilustrację konkretnego problemu starają się budować poczucie sprawiedliwości i odpowiedzialności za Innego.
The subject of the discussion contained in the article are selected spaces of film culture focusing on the issues of the Other. This objective of this article is also to present the role of the film in encounter with the Other and an attempt to find an answer to the question of how and for what purpose selected documentary and feature films speaking about the Other? Filmmakers are more and more concerned with the subject of multiculturalism, ethnic differences or the migratory crisis. In the face of growing problems concerning intolerance, respect or hostility towards Another, the film may be helpful in shaping attitudes of openness to otherness, based on universal values and on respect for cultural and ethnic diversity. The cinema allows encounter with the Other. Films present different values and perspectives and allow for their exchange. Filmmakers do not propose system solutions, but they use the movie camera as one of the tools of change. They are illustrating a specific problem and try to build a sense of justice and responsibility for the Other.

Considerando que los textos forman parte de los acontecimientos sociales como forma lingüística de interacción, el turismo como uno de los sectores más dinámicos de la economía a nivel mundial influye la manera de percibir otra(s) cultura(s). En el proceso del descubrimiento de lo ajeno radica la importancia de transmitir informaciones y generar ideas sobre una cultura distinta. El diálogo intercultural que se establece a través del lenguaje turístico enriquece no solo experiencias turísticas sino también es un instrumento poderoso que crea una visión más o menos objetiva de lo ajeno. Uno de los canales de comunicación turística más populares es el folleto. ¿Cómo se estructura un folleto y cuáles son sus rasgos lingüísticos típicos? En el presente estudio se dará respuesta a estas preguntas basándose en un corpus seleccionado de folletos turísticos editados en versión española (original y traducida del polaco).
Considering that the texts are part of the social events such as linguistic form of interaction, tourism as one of the most dynamic sectors of the economy in the world influence the way we perceive other(s) culture(s). It is the process of exploration of foreign cultures trough language. The intercultural dialogue that is set through the tourist language enriches not only tourist experiences but is a powerful instrument that creates more or less objective visions. One of the most popular channels of tourist communication is the tourist brochure. What is the structure and the linguistic traits of the brochure? In the present study, we will answer these questions based on a corpus selected of tourist brochures edited in Spanish version (original and translated from the Polish).
Teksty kultury odgrywają różne role życiu społecznym w postaci językowej formy oddziaływań, a teksty promocji turystycznej wpływają na sposób postrzegania innych kultur. W procesie poznania obcości, teksty turystyczne stanowią łącznik informacyjno-wyobrażeniowy w przekazie obcych realiów. Dialog międzykulturowy, jaki nawiązuje się poprzez językową formę promocji turystycznej opisu rzeczywistości, sprzyja wzbogaceniu doświadczenia turysty. Jednym znajbardziej rozpowszechnionych kanałów komunikacji w tej dziedzinie jest folder turystyczny. Jaka jest jego struktura i jakie językowe elementy opisu zawiera? W niniejszym artykule, autorka wskazuje typowe i wspólne cechy budowy folderu turystycznego i opisu językowego w oparciu okorpus tekstowy w języku hiszpańskim i polskim.

In 2014, Turkey and Poland celebrated the 600th anniversary of the establishment of their diplomatic relations. The six-century-old relations have been full of ne - gotiations, agreements, peaceful times and conflicts, commercial ties and cultural interplay. Among the cultural interactions, many figures have played important roles for the cultural and political history of both countries. Ali Ufkî Bey (Wojciech Bobowski) (1610?-1675?) is certainly one of those personalities who deserve more scholarly debate. From a historical perspective, his contributions in the fields of culture, diplomacy, music, theology and linguistics illustrate how important the role of an individual as a non-state actor might be in the discipline of International Relations (IR), which constitutes the main focus of this article. Ali Ufkî (Bobowski) is certainly one of those individuals whose contributions need to be analysed in a profound manner, with special emphasis on inter-religious and inter-cultural dialogue. This article also aims at accentuating the historic importance of the 600 years of diplomatic ties in today's foreign policy making process, which might be the subject of further study in IR.(original abstract)

The article is an attempt to determine the social distance towards people who are parents towards other nationalities, as a basis for dialogue between cultures. It is worth noting that the issue of social distance towards other nationalities or religions is particularly important in the era of globalization in relations between the local community and the immigrant population. Distance diagnosis was performed by analyzing ratios: country, city, neighborhood, neighbor and family, taking into account socio-demographic variables such as gender, place of residence and age. The diagnosis was complemented by an analysis of the attitude of respondents to the persons of selected 26 nationalities. Analyses show that the parents interviewed generally exhibit a positive or neutral attitude towards people of other nationalities. There were no negative attitudes. The attitude of the parents open to multiculturalism gives hope to the attitude of hospitality and tolerance towards other young people. A consensus on the multiplicity of cultures emerges. Such an agreement on tolerance, acceptance and understanding for difference does not arise automatically. Such attitudes should be taught to children from an early age.
Artykuł stanowi próbę określenia dystansu społecznego osób będących rodzicami wobec innych narodowości, stanowiącego podstawę do prowadzenia dialogu międzykulturowego. Warto zaznaczyć, że kwestia dystansu społecznego wobec innych narodowości czy religii jest szczególnie istotna w dobie globalizacji w relacjach między społecznością miejscową a ludnością napływową. Diagnozę dystansu przeprowadzono poprzez analizę wskaźników: kraj, miasto, dzielnica, sąsiad i rodzina, z uwzględnieniem zmiennych społeczno-demograficznych, takich jak płeć, miejsce zamieszkania i wiek. Dopełnieniem była analiza stosunku badanych osób do osób reprezentujących  26 narodowości. Z przeprowadzonych analiz wynika, że badani rodzice przejawiają na ogół pozytywny lub neutralny stosunek do osób innej narodowości. Nie stwierdzono postaw negatywnych. Postawa rodziców otwarta na wielokulturowość daje nadzieję na postawę gościnności i tolerancji młodego pokolenia wobec Innych. Pojawia się więc zgoda na wielość kultur. Otóż taka zgoda na tolerancję, akceptację i zrozumienie dla inności nie powstaje w sposób automatyczny. Takiej postawy należy uczyć dzieci od najmłodszych lat.

The author discusses the issue of extreme socuio-cultural attitudes observable in the city milieus associated with traditional and folk music in Poland. He presents them in the context of two categories: those of “homeliness” and “multiculturalism”, pointing to the signs of a hermetic stance towards some universal values derived from the musical heritage, as well as to the ideologization of those values and an instrumental approach to them. He also discusses the problem of the superficial nature of the knowledge concerning the sources of both native and foreign musical traditions that constitute the inspiration and the basis for artistic practices. He also gives examples of “good practice” in the area of intercultural dialogue in the areas of traditional music and music inspired by it.
Autorka podnosi problem skrajnych postaw społeczno-kulturowych obserwowanych w środowiskach miejskich związanych z muzyką tradycyjną i folkową w Polsce. Ukazuje je w kontekście dwóch kategorii: „swojskości” i „międzykulturowości”. Wskazuje na przejawy hermetyzacjipewnych wartości uniwersalnych, płynących z muzycznego dziedzictwa kulturowego, jak również na ideologizację oraz instrumentalne ich traktowanie. Porusza także problem powierzchowności wiedzy w zakresie źródeł tradycji muzycznych (rodzimych i obcych), stanowiących inspiracje i podstawy działalności artystycznej. Autor również przykłady „dobrych praktyk” w zakresie międzykulturowego dialogu w sferze muzyki tradycyjnej i nią inspirowanej.
