Opis:
According to Derridas Monolingualism of the Other, Or, The Prosthesis of Origin every person is always multilingual. If we understand this state of non-monolingualism as a general human phenomenon, which the so called ‘exophone literature’ particulary helps us to do, then we understand that to question a stranger’s alienation always means to question our own alienation at the same time. Thus the question of the stranger becomes the question of one‘s own identity. In my article, I analyze this phenomenon by combining Hamid Sadr’s ‘novel’ Gesprächzettel an Dora (1994) and Jacques Derrida’s concept of mono- and multilingualism. In Hamid Sadr’s text the narrator uses egodocuments to invent a truth about Franz Kafka’s death which opposes many literary scholars and biographers who have interpreted Kafka’s death as a consequence of his existence as a poet, his diremption etc. What alienates the literary figure named Kafka from us is the language itself, and first of all the combination of allegedly ‘authentic’ documents with the unreliable narrative voices, thus revealing the constructiveness of ‘Kafka’. The main character Kafka – who within the text is named K., Kafka, kavka and who is introduced into the text by using his ‘own’ words, that supposedly precede him and yet, at the same time, succeed him – is deconstructed. Borders between cause and effect, before and after, reality and fiction, life and death become obsolete thus turning the Kafka/K. figure into a wanderer, a figure of ‘both-and’. Kafka’s situation as a stranger, as a kind of exile in the remoteness of the sanatorium, is not alone a parable on the situation of an exile, as Sadr’s personal life may indicate. Moreover, as I will show, it is a metaphor for human identity in general.

Works of Paweł Mykietyn belong to the most characteristic trends of Polish contemporary music. His compositional attitude was individualised in the first decade of the 21st century, and today he is recognised as one of the most original Polish composers of the 20th and 21st centuries. Andrzej Chłopecki, when characterising Mykietyn’s music after the premiere of the composer’s II Symphony, compared this work to a “cleverly devised, postmodern toy”. Also Mykietyn’s next, III Symphony (2011), can be considered in the context of the categories of postmodernism and constructivism. This work manifests the postmodern attitude, but it is also marked by strict, “cleverly devised”, constructivist thinking. Its musical language contains intertextual references to hip-hop and rap music; on the other hand, it includes such typical for Mykietyn measures as “(de)gradation form”, “accelerando form”, “permanent accelerando” and dodecaphony, which can be found while analysing the work. III Symphony can be also interpreted in relation to techniques of deconstruction, including both concept and structure of the composition.

The paper describes how the characters of House, M.D. interact and relate to each other; it also discusses the role played by specific, semantically charged means of constructing narration. On one hand, the show largely maintains the model of a conventional medical drama, on the other, it deconstructs many of the characteristics inherent in the genre. The paper also attempts to explain the show’s huge popularity (for a certain time in the United States alone it reached 27 million viewers) achieved in spite of going beyond what an average viewer would expect, primarily by the show’s construction and by evoking ideas outside a classic medical drama.

The aim of this article is a critical revision of the dominant philosophical conceptualization of plants. The author deconstructs the tradition of describing plants in metaphysical and anthropocentric categories by deploying a set of tropes and strategies from the toolkit of deconstruction and phenomenology. While considering the 'plant-being', he formulates an alternative concept of 'plant-thinking', whose distinctive features are non-identity, voicelessness, non-essentionality and existence outside any symbol system. Conceptualized in these categories the plant not only defies the received discourse of metaphysics but also becomes a stepping stone and a most important figure of post-metaphysical thought.

Opis:
"Meeting" is one of these concepts, which in the most recent philosophy have received significant meaning. In some interpretations it is the instruction to "meet" – so to establish the unmediated relation with the Other – is the factor, which allows to break free from the pressure of the "Hegelian bite" and problems resulting from it. It turns out that the ennoblement of the subject made by the German idealism in fact limited the reality only to its exteriorisation – and thus put into question the possibility of reaching the reality, including the reality of other people. "Meeting" would be the bridge thanks to which this reach (again) becomes possible. However, it seems that speaking about the "meeting" we still too rarely think about the prerequisites, which must be met, so that the subject can open itself to accept the Other. This is an important analysis because, first of all, it allows to judge whether the whole project of the postphenomenological philosophy can be defended in the practical perspective, and secondly – it is a key indicator that allows the further development of the human thought. It turns out that for the elementary human experience the "meeting" is not an excess, and the opening to what is unusual is the natural element of the existence of human cultures. And this instruction should be used in today's philosophizing – in order to overcome the basic aporias of modernity with its edge.

This study is based on the assumption that literary interpretations are explicitly or implicitly influenced by some philosophical system as a general system of thought. In this way, different literary interpretations often hide more general philosophical ideas. Nevertheless, this study tries to show that the interpretation of the given work of art need not be conceived only as application of the general philosophical approach; interpretation of the work of art, as argued in this essay, can in significant ways also show the philosophical approach itself. The subject of this study is the case of Henry James’s short story “The Figure in the Carpet.” This essay includes an analysis of how Tzvetan Todorov, Joseph Hillis Miller, Wolfgang Iser and of Pascale Casanova interpret the story and how they use its dominant image of a “figure in the carpet” for illustration of their own theoretical and philosophical approach.

The educational reality is nowadays increasingly associated with the philosophy of postmodernity. The new orientation leads researchers to explore new paths – one of them may be the inclusion of popular culture with all its potential, not excluding popular arts, to the educational canon. This text is an attempt to approximate the popular arts as having significant educational potential in reference to the critical pedagogy. I will try to prove that even purely entertaining aspects of culture may have educational content. First of all, I would like to describe a critical orientation in pedagogy; I will present its practical side in relation to the deconstruction of cultural meanings and nally, I will show some consequent implications for relations between culture and education. The next part of my considerations will concern the popular culture as an educational area, with particular emphasis on a game as the source of culture and as an inherent element of popular arts. I will present in detail associations between popular arts and education based on Polish cabaret which I acknowledged as a place, where basic tasks and functions of critical pedagogy can be seen and realized. Finally, I will present some parts of interviews which had been conducted as my researches – these are the respondents’ opinions about cabaret and its interpretation. This part seems to be showing cabaret as a place of discourse, where a critical dialogue between the sender, the content and the recipient of cabaret transmission takes place.

The article analyzes the texts of the Polish authors Igor Ostachowicz and Sylvia Chutnik and the Russian writer Andrei Turgenev (the pen name of Vyacheslav Kuritsyn), generated by post-memory perspective, sooner or later revealing and filling the «blank spots», through the feeling that an adequate discourse has not been worked out or the existing discourse «doesn’t work». The literary texts refer to the part of historical trauma that was not (at all or sufficiently) worked through, was repressed because of its shameful or, at least, non-heroic nature, which prevents the inclusion of this experience into the «big narrative». The main question that the author of the article is trying to answer concerns the psychological and artistic reasons for using grotesque, sarcasm, and black humor when referring to topics sacralized by the very scale of human tragedy – the experience of the Holocaust and the Siege of Leningrad.

The book confronts a number of various readings of one poem: Great Words by Cyprian Norwid. Its special value is established by a novel conception of the study work, designed as “work in progress”, in which particular interpretations, commentaries, polemic opinions and replies to them enter dialogic relations with each other. However, the reader feels a little unsatisfied because of the way the initial plan is carried out; first of all by the inconsistent profile of the texts, some of which are rightful interpretations of the poem by Norwid, and some are didactic presentations of various theoretical models of reading a text (hermeneutic, phenomenological), for which Norwid’s poem is only an example. This does not change the fact that the book significantly enriches our knowledge of both studies of Norwid and theory of interpretation.

This is anything that occupies space and possesses rest mass (or invariant mass). It is a general term for the substance of which all physical objects consist. Typically, the material includes atoms and other particles having a mass. The mass is said by some to be the amount of matter in an object and volume is the amount of space occupied by an object, but this definition confuses mass with matter, which are not the same thing. Different fields use the term in different ways and sometimes incompatible, there is a unique meaning that scientific consensus is for the word “matter”, although the term “mass” be well defined. The article can be found mainly in solid, liquid and gas, in isolation or in combination. Chemical reactions and other transformations such as phase changes involving the rearrangement of chemical bonds and other interactions between the molecules. These changes invariably involve several important concepts such as energy, chemical equilibrium among others. The desconstruction affects all Chemistry from method to foundations.

Energy and mass are generally interpreted as different properties of matter, for instance: the energy of a particle is generally interpreted as a measure of its capacity to do work. The law of the equivalence of mass and energy does not imply that mass is sometimes converted into energy or vice versa, but states that the changes in one are accompanied by corresponding changes in the other, inertial mass and energy being proportional to each other: E = m . c2. The law of conservation of mass is, therefore, equivalent to the law of conservation of energy and they are sometimes combined together and called the law of conservation of mass- energy. The proportionality between the relativistic mass and energy leads to the fact that the statement on the conservation of the total relativistic mass of particles is the statement on the conservation of the total energy using the relation between the relativistic mass and energy. Accordingly we can analyse the philosophical reasons of the relativistic dynamic. But this examination implicates a review on the causality principle, because we aspire to the new philosophical contained for the relativistic arguments. Meanwhile, the Relativistic Dynamics is also affected by the deconstruction.
