Opis:: This paper presents a new, textual model of image geoinformation. This model can be applied to the digital photogrammetry and GIS. Black-and-white and color digital images are conversed into a text by means of an alphabet, context-free grammars, and a language belonging to the image languages class; all specially developed for this purpose. Geometrical properties of terrain objects are analysed with a distinct mathematical device. An important aspect of this textual model is that the generated text is a semantic network. Thus, lexicomorphologic, lexicologic and lexicographic methods of mathematical linguistics can be applied to the computer recognition of terrain objects and to the analysis of their properties. Examples of graphic data in the textual model are presented.

Opis:: Fast discovering of various relationships in data is an important feature of modern data mining, cognitive, knowledge-based, and explainable AI systems, including deep neural networks. The ability to represent a rich set of relationships between stored data and objects is essential for fast inferences, finding associations, representing knowledge, and extracting useful patterns or other pieces of information. This paper introduces self-balancing, aggregating, and sorting ASA-graphs for efficient data representation in various data structures, databases, and data mining systems. These graphs are smaller and use more efficient algorithms for searching, inserting, and removing data than the most commonly used self-balancing trees. ASA-graphs also automatically aggregate and count all duplicates of values and represent them by the same nodes, connecting them in order, and simultaneously providing very fast data access based on a binary search tree approach. The proposed ASA-graph structure combines the advantages of sorted lists, binary search trees, B-trees, and B+trees, eliminating their weaknesses. Our experiments proved that the ASA-graphs outperform many commonly used self-balancing trees.

Opis:: In recent years multithreaded processing has become a important programming aspect. Computers with a multi-core processor are now widely available, enabling the creation of more efficient applications. Many libraries support multi-threaded solutions, but performance information is often lacking. The use of appropriate data structures and algorithms significantly speeds up the process of creation and development of applications. Article describes selected elements of the Qt and STL library and compares their performance in concurrent programming. The test was performed with custom applications created with C++. The time needed to perform individual operations was analysed.
Przetwarzanie wielowątkowe na przestrzeni ostatnich lat stało się ważnym aspektem programistycznym. Komputery dysponujące procesorem wielordzeniowym są obecnie powszechnie dostępne co umożliwia tworzenie wydajniejszych aplikacji. Wiele bibliotek wspiera rozwiązania wielowątkowe lecz często brakuje informacji o wydajności. W artykule opisano wybrane elementy biblioteki Qt i STL oraz porównano ich wydajność w programowaniu współbieżnym. Testy zostały przeprowadzone za pomocą autorskich aplikacji napisanych w języku C++. Wyniki przedstawiono w postaci analizy czasów potrzebnych na wykonanie poszczególnych operacji.

Opisuje problemy z wydajnością oraz sposób ich rozwiązania w relacyjnych bazach danych.

Opis:: Advanced geospatial applications often involve complex computing operations performed under sometimes severe resource constraints. These applications primarily rely on traditional raster and vector data structures based on square lattices. But there is a significant body of research that indicates that data structures based on hexagonal lattices may be a superior alternative for efficient representation and processing of raster and vector data in high performance applications. The advantages of hexagonal rasters for image processing are discussed, and hexagonal discrete global grid systems for location coding are introduced. The combination provides an efficient, unified approach to location representation and processing in geospatial systems.

Opis:: The aim of this article is to present the application of a panel model in determining the impact of spatio-temporal relationships related to the employment of medical workers in public healthcare in specific voivodships. Based on estimated Berzeg's panel model parameters, mean structural changes as well as sectorial and regional interactions were assessed in respect of the employment of medical workers in the studied group of five professions from 1999 to 2011. Received results may be helpful in the management of healthcare facilities.

Opis:: The article discuss usage of Berkeley DB data structures such as hash tables and b-trees for implementation of a high performance URL database. The article presents a formal model for a data structures oriented URL database, which can be used as an alternative for a relational oriented URL database.
W artykule omówiono zastosowanie struktur danych z pakietu Berkeley DB, takich jak: tablice z haszowaniem i b-drzewa do implementacji wysoko wydajnych baz danych adresów URL. Opis:: In this paper the statistical assessment of the models that ensure the safety of the reinforced concrete slabs is fo cused. The investigation results in choosing the best mo del as the one that can aspire to become normative for European Union after 2020. Authors dispose with a suffi cient number of data yielded from experimental tests. Ha ving input geometrical and physical parameters of each experiment at hand, the corresponding theoretical value is computed by using three formulas provided by three models involving the same inputs. Case by case, the ratio between measured and theoretical value reveals the safety immediately. This ratio stands as the one parametric dimensionless statistical variable which is analysed after wards. Due to statistical parameters evaluation and in accordance with engineers a new model was suggested, statistically verified and nominated as the normative one.
