Opis:
Thermal instability in a horizontal layer of Oldroydian visco-elastic fluid in a porous medium is investigated. For porous medium the Brinkman–Darcy model is considered. A linear stability analysis based upon perturbation method and normal mode technique is used to find solution of the fluid layer confined between two free-free boundaries. The onset criterion for stationary and oscillatory convection is derived analytically. The influence of the Brinkman–Darcy, Prandtl–Darcy number, stress relaxation parameter on the stationary and oscillatory convection is studied both analytically and graphically. The sufficient condition for the validity of PES has also been derived.

Opis:
The present study investigates the combined effects of varying viscosity and heat transfer on a Casson fluid through an inclined porous axisymmetric tube in the presence of slip effects. The modeled governing equations are solved analytically by considering the long wavelength and small Reynolds number approximations. The numerical integration is employed to obtain pressure rise and frictional force. A parametric analysis has been presented to study the effects of the Darcy number, angle of inclination, varying viscosity, velocity slip, thermal slip, yield stress, amplitude ratio, Prandtl number and Eckert number on the pressure rise, pressure gradient, streamlines, frictional force and temperature. The study reveals that an increase in the angle of inclination and viscosity parameter has a proportional increase in the pressure rise. Also, an increase in the porosity causes a significant reduction in the pressure rise.

Opis:
An attempt has been made to examine the effects of magnetohydrodynamic couple stress fluid in peristaltic flow with porous medium under the impact of slip, heat transfer and wall properties. The expressions are obtained for temperature, coefficient of heat transfer and velocity. Influences of different parameters, the Hartmann number, Brinkman number and adaptability parameters on the temperature and warmth trade coefficient are discussed through outlines.

Opis:
This paper is focused on the study of two dimensional steady magnetohydrodynamics heat and mass transfer by laminar free convection from a radiative horizontal circular cylinder in a non-Darcy porous medium by taking into account of the Soret/Dufour effects. The boundary layer equations, which are parabolic in nature, are normalized into non-similar form and then solved numerically with the well-tested, efficient, implicit, stable Keller–Box finite-difference scheme. Numerical results are obtained for the velocity, temperature and concentration distributions, as well as the local skin friction, Nusselt number and Sherwood number for several values of the parameters, namely the buoyancy ratio parameter, Prandtl number, Forchheimer number, magnetohydrodynamic body force parameter, Soret and Dufour numbers. The dependency of the thermophysical properties has been discussed on the parameters and shown graphically. Increasing the Forchheimer inertial drag parameter reduces velocity but elevates temperature and concentration. Increasing the Soret number and simultaneously reducing the Dufour number greatly boosts the local heat transfer rate at the cylinder surface. A comparative study of the previously published and present results in a limiting sense is made and an excellent agreement is found between the results.

Opis:
Tangent hyperbolic fluid is one of the non-Newtonian fluids in which the constitutive equation is valid for low and high shear rates and used mostly in laboratory experiments and industries. The Darcy-Forchheimer flow model is substantial in the fields where the high flow rate effect is the common phenomenon, for instance, in petroleum engineering. With these things in mind, in this article, we analysed the mixed convective dissipative Darcy-Forchheimer flow of tangent hyperbolic fluid by an inclined plate with Joule heating. Flow administering equations were altered as nonlinear ODEs and then resolved using shooting strategy. Pertinent outcomes are explained through graphs. It is discovered that fluid velocity minifies with the rise in the power law index parameter and Forchheimer number. It is detected that the thermal buoyancy parameter minimizes fluid temperature, and the magnetic field parameter ameliorates the same. What’s more, we noticed that Forchheimer number minimizes the skin friction coefficient, and the heat transfer rate is minified with the larger Eckert number. Furthermore, we have verified our results with former results for the Nusselt number and noticed a satisfactory agreement.
