Opis:
Historie česko‑polských vztahů je dlouhá. Rok 1989 nesporně přinesl epochální změnu i z hlediska česko‑polských vztahů. Teprve tehdy se Češi a Poláci stali svéprávnými sousedy. Územní spory se neobnovily, obě země navíc pojily vzájemné sympatie kulturních i politických elit. Česko‑polské vztahy jsou nyní nejlepší za posledních tisíc let. Tato studie, ač rozsahem nevelká, usiluje podat ucelený obraz vzájemných kulturních a jazykových vztahů obou národů za 2014 rok. Lze ji tedy hodnotit jako cenný příspěvek k této problematice. Bibliografie je rozdělena do dvou části, z nichž první uvádí Bibliografia przekładów literatury polskiej w Czechach w 2014 roku a druhá Bibliografia przekładów literatury czeskiej w Polsce w 2014 roku, obě části obsahují překladovou literaturu. Zpracovaná bibliografie není výhradně věnována knihám, zahrnuje také časopisy i internetové stránky. Konečným záměrem celého projektu je prostřednictvím serii „Przekłady Literatur Słowiańskich” poskytnout odborné i laické veřejnosti vyčerpávající seznam publikací — překladů české a polské literatury za rok 2014 vydaných na území České republiky a Polska.
The history of Polish‑Czech dealings is long. There is no doubt that the year 1989 brought epochal changes in Polish‑Czech relations. Only then did the Czechs and Poles become rightful neighbours. Territorial disputes are a nonissue and the two countries are connected to each other with mutual affection of the cultural and political elite. Czech‑Polish relations are the best they have been in over a thousand years. This publication, although small in scale, is intended to provide a full picture of the cultural and linguistic relationship between the two nations for the year 2014. It can be viewed as a valuable contribution to this issue. The bibliography is divided into two parts, where the first includes, The bibliography of the translated works of Polish literature in the Czech Republic in 2014, and the second one includes, The bibliography of the translated works of Czech literature in Poland in 2014. Both parts include translated literature. The bibliography is devoted not only to books, but also takes into account periodicals and websites. The ultimate goal of the whole project was to provide both the experts and readers, through the series „Slavic Literature Translations”, with a comprehensive list of translated works of Polish and Czech literature published in Poland and the Czech Republic in the year 2014.

Komentovaná bibliografie z let 2007—2013 bezesporu je jedním z nejvíce cenných sbírkových aktivit v oblasti překladu do českého a polského jazyka. Retrospektivní bibliografie je dobrým zdrojem bibliografických informací o překladů české a polské literatury z let 2007—2013 a zároveň o českém a polském písemnictví. Publikace obsahuje bibliografii snažící se podat pokud možno úplný obraz knižní a časopisecké produkce vydané na území České republiky a Polska. Bibliografie překladů podává souhrnný materiál k pohledu na vývoj české a polské poezie, prózy a dramatu v posledních letech. Možno říci, že jsme obohaceni o knihu, které se podařilo zpracovat rozvoj překladatelské činnosti v Polsku a České republice, nejen pro odborníky filology a literární historiky, jimž umožní celkový pohled na českou a polskou literaturu v překladu, ale i přístupně pro široký okruh zájemců o kulturu českého a polského národa. V tom je hlavní význam díla „Przekłady Literatur Słowiańskich”, které představuje zajímavou práci v Polsku.
The discussed here bibliography for the years 2007—2013 is without any doubt one of the most important publications on the subject of translations into Czech and Polish languages. The retrospective bibliography is a very good source for bibliographical information about Polish and Czech literature translation in the years 2007—2013, as well as for the Polish and Czech writing in general. The publication includes a bibliography which makes an attempt to present, if it’s possible, a full picture of the book and periodical production, which were published on the territories of Poland and the Czech Republic. The translations bibliography constitutes a general material for an overview of the development of the Czech and Polish prose, poetry and drama in the recentyears. It can be said that we are richer for a book, in which the author was able to elaborate on the development of the translating activity in Poland and the Czech Republic. This work proves to be valuable not only for the highly specialized experts in the fields of philology and literary history, who have now an access to a comprehensive overview of the Czech and Polish literature in translation, but also is a great introductory material for a wide circle of people interested in the culture of the Polish and Czech nations. In this lies the main importance of the work The Slavic Literature Translations, which is a very interesting work in Poland.

The author of this brief article draws attention to the following consequences of the baptism of Poland: empowering of the country (as a main causative factor of the emergence of the Polish language), the adoption of the Latin alphabet for the writing system, establishing Latin as the first literary language (chronologically) and as the universal language of the Christian culture in its Roman variant, adopting European educational patterns, the crucial role of the Church in creating the foundation for the Polish literary language and the general situation of Poland in the Western cultural heritage.

The review contains a short descriptions of the content of a book entitled European dimension of Czech and Polish literature, edited by Libor Martinek from the Silesian University in Opava (Czech Republic). The article presents an example of good practice in the field of regional education, which is the organization of the cyclical International Lendian Dialect Contest called "Moravian stories of a farmer’s wife" (Moravian dialect: „Morawske rzadzyni selske hospodyni”) in the Primary School in Krzanowice (continuously since 2007). The overriding goal of this initiative is to popularize the cultural and linguistic heritage of the Polish-Czech borderland, a specific and unique region due to the cross-influence of four cultures and state and political changes that have taken place over the centuries. The contest fulfills an educational, social and cultural function. In adult recipients, it shapes and strengthens ties with the environment, creates a sense of regional community and stimulates social activity. Whereas, in the young generation, it arouses interest in the problems of history, sensitizes them to the richness and specificity of the Moravian heritage, and in the wider perspective enables shaping and developing the need for attachment to the homeland and respect for the legacy of ancestors.
Artykuł prezentuje przykład dobrej praktyki z zakresu edukacji regionalnej, jaką jest organizacja cyklicznego Międzynarodowego Konkursu Gwary Laskiej „Morawske rzadzyni selske hospodyni” w Szkole Podstawowej w Krzanowicach (nieprzerwanie od 2007 roku). Nadrzędnym celem tej inicjatywy jest popularyzacja dziedzictwa kulturowo-językowego pogranicza polsko-czeskiego, regionu specyficznego i wyjątkowego z racji wpływu czterech kultur oraz zmienności państwowej i politycznej na przestrzeni stuleci. Konkurs spełnia nie tylko funkcję edukacyjną, ale przede wszystkim społeczną. Wśród dorosłych odbiorców kształtuje i umacnia więzi ze środowiskiem, stwarza poczucie wspólnoty regionalnej oraz rodzi aktywność społeczną. Zaś wśród młodego pokolenia rozbudza zainteresowanie problematyką historii, uwrażliwia na bogactwo i specyfikę morawskiego dziedzictwa, a w szerzej perspektywie pozwala kształtować i rozwijać potrzebę przywiązania do rodzinnych stron oraz szacunku do spuścizny przodków.

Opis:
The article comprises a presentation of quantitative and qualitative studies, conducted among teachers working in kindergartens and schools with Polish as the teaching language in the territory of Zaolzie in the Czech Republic. Teachers’ experiences are analysed from the perspective of both the constructivist vision of a child, present in pedagogy, and Maria Tyszkowa’s concept of structuration and restructuration of experience (considered to be a part of the constructivist current). The undertaken reflections and the research results enable the recognition of the significance of childhood experiences for the professional development of beginners in teaching careers. Those reflections and outcomes can also enhance the development of teachers’ awareness and responsibility for providing children and youth with experiences that will be of crucial importance in their later life young.
Artykuł prezentuje wyniki badań ilościowych i jakościowych przeprowadzonych wśród nauczycieli pracujących w przedszkolach i szkołach z polskim językiem nauczania zlokalizowanych na terenie tzw. Zaolzia – w Republice Czeskiej. Doświadczenia nauczycieli poddaje analizie z perspektywy konstruktywistycznej wizji dziecka obecnej w pedagogice oraz koncepcji strukturacji i restrukturacji doświadczenia Marii Tyszkowej (zaliczanej do nurtu konstruktywistycznego). Podjęte rozważania i wyniki przeprowadzonych badań pozwalają poznać znaczenie doświadczeń z dzieciństwa dla rozwoju zawodowego początkujących nauczycieli. Mogą przyczynić się do rozwoju świadomości i odpowiedzialności nauczycieli za dostarczanie doświadczeń dzieciom i młodzieży. Doświadczenia te będą miały istotne znaczenie w późniejszym życiu dzieci i młodzieży.

The borderland is a specific reality, which not reduce for one culture because this culture was created by connected, penetrated or crashed culture in one social space, for example borderland language, traditions and customs or architecture. The distinctive mark of borderland are ethnic and nation minorities which define this social space. The Polish and Czech Republic borderland is being created by Polish and Czech cultures but others – Slovak, German, Moravian and Roma cultures, too. In this context we can talk about isolation process on the one hand and on the other hand about social exchange which give new social reality. The research of borderland is first of all analysis how cultural diversity create social, economic and politic life in the borderland.

Opis:
The paper deals with some contact phenomena in grammar typical of the ascendant dialects, which were inherited by two Czech and one Polish immigrant patois spoken in Russia. The Czech patois are located in several villages near Novorossiysk and Anapa in the Northern Caucasus and also in the Middle Irtysh area of the Omsk Region, the Polish (Masovian) one in the Krasnoyarsk Region and in the Republic of Khakassia.These patois show relatively good preservation of their original dialectal systems, including not only old lexical borrowings from German, but also grammatical features that appeared as a result of the longtime contact of West Slavic dialects with German in central and northeastern Europe. At the same time the systems of the examined patois as a whole, as well as their elements of contact origin, have been strongly influenced by their East Slavic language surroundings, most of all by the Russian language. The author concludes that set and functioning of the analyzed borrowed units or structures and contact features in Czech and Polish dialects although partly similar, differed somewhat. It depended on the speakers’ relative tendencies to personalize and give detail; it also depended on the features sentence construction observed in both languages.

The issue of settling accounts with modern history is a topic often taken up in contemporary Polish cinematography. The delicate and intriguing problems of lustration, memory, guilt, and forgiveness are, however, not only a Polish concern. In 2009, Kawasaki’s Rose, directed by Jan Hřebejku, was presented during the Berlinale. Almost a year later, Rafael Lewandowski’s debut film The Mole was released in Polish cinemas. Both the Czech and the Polish productions constitute attempts at facing the embarrassing problem faced by Poles and Czechs in terms of the problems mentioned above. A closer look at the phenomenon, viewed from two different perspectives (Polish in The Mole and Czech in Kawasaki’s Rose), provides a particularly interesting angle for analyzing this subject. In the article, the works of Rafael Lewandowski and Jan Hřebejk are compared in an effort to answer the question of what image of society emerges from these films. How do different historical and cultural conditions influence the process of shaping people’s attitudes in the face of similar problems. The author performs a film study analysis on these works, based on interviews with their authors and important reviews of them. Literary works that are topically connected with them, including Revised Edition by Péter Esterházy and The Curtain by Milan Kundera, constitute an essential context.

W artykule poddano analizie dwujęzyczny dramaturgiczno-inscenizacyjny wspólny projekt Sceny Polskiej i České scény (Sceny Czeskiej) Těšínského divadla (Teatru Cieszyńskiego) w Českém Těšíně (Czeskim Cieszynie) pn. Těšínské niebo Cieszyńskie nebe. Ten muzyczny „sentymentalny rajd tramwajowy – sentymentální tramvajová rallye” przez wieki po wielokulturowym regionie i wielokulturowym mieście był – zgodnie z zamierzeniem realizatorów przedsięwzięcia: Jaromíra Nohavicy, Renaty Putzlacher, Radovana Lipusa, Tomaša Kočko – „próbą spojrzenia na cieszyńską ziemię przez pryzmat minionych lat i zdarzeń, pełną nostalgii i humoru, z przywołaniem związanych z tym regionem postaci prawdziwych i mitycznych”1. Próbą przeprowadzoną zgodnie z przyjętą przez autorów projektu nadrzędną, zainspirowaną przez ideę euroregionu, zasadą eksponowania tego, co społeczność pogranicza łączyło/łączy i w efekcie tworzy płaszczyznę wartości wspólnych, a nie tego, co dzieliło/dzieli. Poszukiwanie wspólnych elementów kultury, podobieństw dziejów okazało się tutaj zbieżne z założeniami edukacji międzykulturowej. Przyjętą opcję postrzegania polsko-czeskich pogranicznych dziejów oraz wizję współistnienia obu narodów w Cieszyńskim determinował nadto fakt przyjęcia obu państw w struktury Unii Europejskiej (premiera spektaklu 15 maja 2004 roku). Z tej perspektywy została skonstruowana materia następujących po sobie sekwencji spektaklu i wyłaniała się koncepcja człowieka pogranicza jako człowieka pełniejszego, bo wzbogaconego duchowo innością drugiego. Przedstawienie współuczestniczyło w podejmowanym po 1989 roku procesie formowania odpowiednio wysokiego poziomu zbiorowej tożsamości lokalnej, regionalnej oraz euroregionalnej społeczności zamieszkujących oba miasta graniczne i oba przygraniczne obszary.
What was subjected to analysis in the presented study is the bilingual stage project of the Polish Scene and the Czech Scene of the Cieszyn Theatre in Czech Cieszyn entitled Těšínské niebo Cieszyńskie nebe /Cieszyn Skies/ (first staged on 15th May 2004). In compliance with the intentions of the undertakers: Jaromír Nohavica, Renata Putzlacher, Radovan Lipus, Tomaš Kočko, this musical “sentimental tramway trip” through ages in the multicultural region and town was “an attempt at viewing the area of Cieszyn through the past years and events – an attempt full of nostalgia and humour as well as references to real and mythical figures associated with this region”50. This was carried out according to the superior principle, applied by the authors of the project and inspired by the idea of the Euroregion, of exposing what has been linking the borderland community (and results in a platform of common values) and not what has been dividing it. The search for common elements of culture and historical similarities has turned out to be compliant with the assumptions of intercultural education. The applied option of viewing the Polish-Czech borderland history and the vision of coexistence of both nationalities in the area of Cieszyn have been also determined by joining the structures of the European Union (the opening took place on 15th May 2004). It was from this perspective that the consecutive sequences of the spectacle were constructed, unveiling the concept of the borderland man as a more complete person – spiritually enriched with the dissimilarity of the other. The spectacle has contributed to the process (started in 1989) of forming appropriately high collective local, regional and Euroregional awareness of the community inhabiting both borderland towns and regions.

Polish studies have a long tradition in the Czech Republic. It goes back to the first half of the nineteenth century, when the Czechs were experiencing the national rebirth. This was accompanied by their interest in the Slavic world, including Polish issues. In the interwar period, the Department of the Polish Language and Literature was established at Charles University in Prague, and a Polish language course was run in Brno (at Masaryk University). The Inter-governmental Joint Permanent Polish-Czech Commission for Humanities operating between 1993 and 2006 served well for the Polish-Czech cooperation. Held in Prague in 2013, the Congress of the Polish Studies was attended by over a hundred researchers from more than a dozen countries. The Congress attempted to present the current state of research on Polish history, culture and scholarship. Two collective works were published as the proceedings of the congress. This paper discusses the second one, The Czech studies on Poland in the context of Central and Eastern Europe, which was published in Polish.

While Poles rejected Pan-Slavic ideas in Europe, especially those that saw Russia as the protector of the Slavs, in Chicago a type of Pan-Slavism quickly emerged in the years after the Civil War. Polish and Czech immigrants forged a working relationship based on their common Slavic identity and on the realities of immigration, social class, and shared space in the city’s neighborhoods. These two groups also confronted anti-immigrant and anti-working class biases in the city. Their relationship with the German American community, a politically and culturally powerful group in Chicago, often proved to be problematic. During World War One, the Slavic coalition actively attacked Chicago’s Germans in an attempt to gain more political power. This coalition eventually resulted in the creation of a political machine under the leadership of Anton Čermak, an immigrant from Bohemia, who became the city’s only foreign-born mayor in 1931.

What is explored in the presented text, in reference to the results of authorial studies conducted in 2005/06 and 2012/13 on teachers working in kindergartens, primary, lower- and upper-secondary schools, are the issues of the implementation of intercultural education in the Polish-Czech borderland. This is done in reference to the levels of the work of school and the teacher, outlined by Jerzy Nikitorowicz, within three major tasks of intercultural education. The empirical data based on questionnaire surveys, observation and document analysis allowed for characterizing contemporary chances and barriers of education towards interculturalism in the environment of both urban and rural school.

Aim: The study is aimed at outlining the functioning of the Cieszyn Research School for Borderland Culture and Education, founded and developed over the last three decades by Professor Tadeusz Lewowicki at the University of Silesia in Katowice, Faculty of Ethnology and Educational Sciences (currently: Faculty of Art and Educational Science). Methods: The School’s activity was described on the basis of the concept of distinguishing and estimating seven factors/phenomena attributed to a scientific school – genealogy, time, place, self-awareness, ideological core, methodological core and writings, styles and worldviews, developed by Zbysław Muszyński. Results: The article synthetically presents the results of team research initiated in 1989 in the Polish-Czech borderland in Cieszyn Silesia. The researchers focused on educational environments (family, school, local communities, churches of various denominations), problems of social and educational policy, socialization and identity formation, teacher’s work in multicultural conditions and social conditions of intercultural education. The result of these undertakings is the series “Edukacja Interkulturowa /Intercultural Education/”, published since 1992, which currently comprises 95 volumes. Conclusions: Over thirty years of theoretical achievements, research results and practical experience of the Cieszyn Research School for Borderland Culture and Education, as well as of other Polish research centers dealing with the issues of multi- and intercultural education, became the basis for developing a synthesis containing the outline of intercultural pedagogy – as a discipline of educational science.
