The aim of this work is to present the selected effects of consolidation processes conducted in 2011–2014 within the Łubka region, Siemień commune and within the Zaliszcze area, Podedwórze commune, Parczew district, Lublin Voivodeship. The consolidation activities within Łubka region were conducted over the area of 156.2937 ha and involved 60 participants. Within the Zaliszcze region, the general development area amounted to 1174.2580 ha and involved 152 participants. The project of land consolidation was developed by the Voivodeship Office of Surveying in Lublin, Branch Office in Biała Podlaska. In order to assess the basic results of land consolidation, the technical-spatial parameters were applied (the index of reducing the number of plots and extension of their surface). The main effects of the conducted process of consolidation include: decrease of a general number of record plots and an increase of the average surface of them within the region, which resulted in a reduction of the number of plots and decrease of the average surface of the plot in the farmstead. Furthermore, in conjunction with the change in the distribution of individual record plots, the farm layout has improved. Numerous agritechnical and recultivating works were also conducted and a functional network of municipal roads was created.

In this work the consolidation characteristics of the experimental and theoretical process of consolidation was studied. The analyses were carried out on the basis of the axial soil deformation progress and the pore pressure dissipation. The applied methodology gives possibility for the simultaneous comparison of the experimental and theoretical consolidation data and verification of the validity of calculated values of coefficient of consolidation, estimated using different methods. The aim of this research was to put some light on the quasi-filtration phase of consolidation. The results of consolidation studies on five high quality paste samples prepared from Krakowiec clays showed that the quasi-filtration occurs only in specific stages of the whole process. The analysis of changes in coefficient of consolidation depending on the degree of consolidation, enables the separation of the region of quasi-fixed values of c v, which corresponds to the quasi-filtration phase of consolidation.

This paper involves the results of oedometric tests carried out on four model samples with different content of expansive clay minerals, subjected to different stresses. The research aimed to determine the impact of consolidation pressure on the consolidation coefficient for cohesive soils with different mineral composition. Main factors influencing correlation between consolidation coefficient and consolidation pressure (Cv–p) trends turned out to be mechanisms controlling changes in soil volume (mechanical or physicochemical), which is different for expansive and non-expansive soils.

W pracy dokonano analizy rozkładu sił tarcia w zagęszczanym ośrodku sypkim. Zagęszczaniu poddawano mieszankę wapienno-piaskową. Dla niej określono rozkład nacisków pτ(z) na ścianki boczne formy wywołane siłami tarcia i ciśnieniem prasowania p(z). Do opisu ciśnienia prasowania zastosowano model tarcia Amontonsa-Coulomba. Zdefiniowano nowy współczynnik prasowania ψ = fξ. Określono wpływ sił tarcia na właściwości otrzymanego wyrobu. Zmniejszającym się naciskom bocznym odpowiadała większa nasiąkliwość, mniejsza gęstość i wytrzymałość wyrobu na ściskanie.
In the paper, the analysis of friction force distribution in the consolidated loose material was made. The sand-lime mix was subjected to compression. Distribution of pτ(z) pressures related to this mix (caused by friction forces and p(z) pressure) on side walls of the mould are described. The friction model Amontons-Coulomb was used to describe a compression pressure ψ = fξ. A new consolidation coefficient ψ = fξ was calculated. The influence of friction forces on the properties of the formed material is described. The decrease in side pressures was accompanied by increased absorptivity, decreased density, and a resistance of the material to compression.

Over the recent years, rural space has been a subject to continuous changes, both at the structural and qualitative level. The way Polish rural areas look today results from long-lasting changes determined not only by historical, but also social or economic factors. The areas currently face a number of problems, including unfavourable ownership structure. The purpose of the study was the analysis of the spatial structure of agricultural parcels, and the assessment of its effect on the possibilities of development of selected study areas. Spatial analyses were performed, providing the basis for the determination of the urgency of conducting arrangement-agricultural works with the most considerable impact on the development of the areas. Two rural areas were selected for the study: Jabłonów in Brzeźnica commune, Żagański County, Lubuskie Voivodship, and Gardzienice Pierwsze in Piaski commune, Świdnicki County, Lubelskie Voivodship. The areas, like the voivodships in which they are located, are distinguished by a completely different agrarian structure. According to data of the Central Statistical Office, in Lubelskie Voivodship farms reach an average size of 7.57 ha, and in Lubuskie Voivodship – 20.75 ha. Study areas selected this way permitted the presentation of various problems resulting from the ownership structure of land, and a proposal of the rearrangement of the space for the purpose of sustainable development.

The aim of the paper is to present concentration changes in the Polish banking sector, as well as an attempt of further trends indication. In the analysis, the following concentration measures were used: CR5 ratio and Herfindahl-Hirschman ratio. Before the evaluation of the market structure, in the paper there is a short synthesis of the most important aspects determining interpretation of the results and giving wider perception at which point of development the analysed banking market in Poland is. Conducted analysis points out that the Polish banking sector presents lower level of concentration than sectors in most countries of the EU15 and in other countries of the Central-Eastern Europe. In the following years further consolidation processes should be expected. The scale and pace of these changes will be also influenced by the view of the Polish Financial Supervision Authority.

The purpose of this article is to show how the parent company in the group can exploit a subsidiary in which it holds less than 100% of the share capital in order to create the consolidated financial result. Change in valuation or mutual transactions, excluded from consolidation, affects the height of the financial results of the subsidiary. Consolidated net profit will increase or decrease with the share of minorities. The article shows how the group could control the amount of consolidated net profit through transactions between related entities.

The historical knowledge of Poles, including Polish students, leaves much to be desired, even on a basic level. The insufficient or even the lack of consolidation is the most likely explanation of this phenomenon. The proposed solution to this problem is the SuperMemo and its similar algorithms, along with school history content specially edited for its needs. Basically an algorithm is a set of steps leading to the completion of a task. In the SuperMemo case, the task is to optimize learning, or rather to reduce forgetfulness, while reducing the time devoted to still well-remembered knowledge. Both the SuperMemo and its similar have been implemented in many applications. Quizlet or the software with the same name as the algorithm – SuperMemo, are the examples of such applications. They allow you to learn your own materials as well as those already edited, either by the producer or by other users. The previously edited school historical content for the SuperMemo algorithm and its similar cannot be considered satisfactory if important issues such as: compliance with the core curriculum, division into classes and topics, historical narrative coherence, relationships between pairs of questions and answers, or degrees of difficulty, are regarded. This article proposes a method that can improve this state of affairs. It is the result of theoretical and quasi-experimental work, corrected later on the basis of more serious editorial experience.

The problem of consolidation of soil has been widely investigated. The basic approach was given by Terzaghi who assumed soil of constant physical and mechanical parameters. In the case of peat consolidation, the permeability coefficient of soil and the elasticity modulus are functions of the settlement which is an important additional factor. The model proposed here assumes varying the elasticity and permeability coefficients. Moreover, the settlement is described by the so-called elementary curve which was approximated empirically based upon laboratory tests. The model allows to consider the case when the filtration in the peat body goes in horizontal direction. It happens so when the charging layer does not receive outgoing water from the pores. The model includes also the case when the load involving consolidation varies in time i.e. the charging layer grows up gradually. The model has been applied practically in several cases and it comes that there is a good agreement between calculated and measured settlement of the consolidated peat layer.

Land consolidation procedures are an attempt to comprehensively change the existing spatial structure of land in rural areas. This treatment also brings many other social and economic benefi ts, contributing to the development of consolidated areas. Land consolidation in mountain areas differs in many respects from those implemented in areas with more favorable conditions for the functioning of agriculture. The unfavorable values of land fragmentation indices, terrain conditions and lower than the average soil quality affect both the dominant forms of agricultural activity and the limited opportunities to improve the distribution of plots in space, parameters of shape, and the area as a result of land consolidation. For this reason, the effectiveness of land consolidation in mountain areas can be achieved by improving the quality of transportation network and the accessibility of the plots, arranging ownership issues and improving the quality of cadastral documentation. This article presents the evaluation of the measures of effectiveness of land consolidation realized in mountain areas on the example of Łetownia Village in the Małopolska Province, located in the southern part of Poland. Selected village is an area with unfavorable conditions for the functioning of agriculture and high values of land fragmentation indices.

The article is an opinion in the ongoing discussion on the directions of the legislative changes in the field of rural structures in Poland, expressed mainly in connection with the forthcoming EU programming period 2014-2020. In the very centre of discussion is a new approach to planning and implementing investment activities related to land consolidation (defined as "land consolidation development") in Poland. If investments in post-consolidation development are realized in coordination with water engineering, land improvement and flood control, then even under Rural Development Programme (RDP) for 2007-2013 more funds can be raised for improving rural structures. A prerequisite for this is to create integrated guidelines for land consolidation projects.

This paper presents a different, than commonly used, form of equations describing the filtration of a viscous compressible fluid through a porous medium in isothermal conditions. This mathematical model is compared with the liquid flow equations used in the theory of consolidation. It is shown that the current commonly used filtration model representation significantly differs from the filtration process representation in Biot’s and Terzaghi’s soil consolidation models, which has a bearing on the use of the methods of determining the filtration coefficient on the basis of oedometer test results. The present analysis of the filtration theory equations should help interpret effective parameters of the non-steady filtration model. Moreover, equations for the flow of a gas through a porous medium and an interpretation of the filtration model effective parameters in this case are presented.

The paper presents solution of the system of equations for consolidation of porous medium where pores are filled by a low compressible liquid. The skeleton stress, pore pressure and field temperature are coupled. The solution of an initial-boundary value problem for an uniaxial strain state for the consolidating layer has been analyzed.
