Village Renewal Program
Opis:
The Program of Village Renewal stresses restoration of regional esthetic to village architecture and preserving or restoring elements of rural landscape. It suggests that apart from farm and habitable buildings themselves particular attention should be paid to so called common space, which includes greenery at the side of roads, road crossings, squares and car parks. Car parks in nowadays reality are an inseparable element of a housing estate landscape and village areas. Their shape is conditioned by building regulations and design norms, but the appearance of their surroundings is seldom an effect of the sense of esthetic from the designer. The esthetics of car parks in Polish villages varies but it is definitely far from ideal. It depends on the costs of their creation and maintenance and on the owner or administrator of the area. The Program of Village Renewal carried out by the Agricultural Academy in Wrocław together with Opole Marshal Office, which has the slogan "Let's care about our Landscape", promotes among inhabitants of villages the need of esthetically shaping the whole of the rural landscape. It stresses concern about commonly accessible places, particularly common areas which belong to the commune. It stresses the increasing esthetic benefits of those places and harmonic inscribing them in rural architecture. The answer to those needs are projects by Landscape Architecture students at our academy. Having done analyses and landscape studies and having elaborated the needs of local communities, they design conceptions for the creation of common areas revitalization for chosen villages. Those areas especially near commercial, administration, cultural, educational or sports objects, are enriched with a certain number of parking spots which are harmonically composed with the whole area and combined with a cover of greenery. It is important to provide rural car parks with ecological character, starting with lawn and concrete surface to freely grouped parking spots, for example in empty spaces under existing trees. Landscape architects who take care of those rural areas have a task to properly shape common areas in villages, including designing parking spots together with their surroundings. Creating them in such a way as to harmonically compose them in their rural landscape surrounding so they do not interfere by the oddity of their form and material with the regional architectural heritage and become a friendly and esthetical element of that landscape for the viewer.

In this paper we compare two pricing rules in the context of bandwidth trade. Allocation and pricing rules, together with a set of signals received from independent agents, constitute a market mechanism. In the paper we analyze two pricing rules: well known Vickrey-Clarke-Groves rule (VCG) and the parametric pricing rule (PPR).We apply these pricing rules to the allocation rule specified by the balancing communication bandwidth trade model (BCBT).

This paper presents a theoretical matrix analysis of antenna structure consisting of two double-element planar antennas for ultra-wideband (UWB) application in 2*2 MIMO indoor communication systems. The structure and characteristics of planar two-element UWB antenna are presented. Two matrix models of MIMO antenna system are represented in the paper. A standard MIMO signal transmission matrix without taking into consideration the coupling between antennas is described. A new approach to a full electromagnetic analysis based on the scattering matrix of the MIMO spatial antenna array is proposed. Functional power parameters for the whole MIMO UWB transmit-receive antenna structure are introduced. Results of computer simulations of different matrices describing a MIMO antenna system and the transmission propagation pulses are presented.

Opis:
The adoption of a new Learning Design methodology, especially when it is related to Information and Communication Technologies (ICT), by teachers in Cyprus is a challenge. This paper describes and evaluates the process of transferring such a Learning Design innovation, as developed by the UK Open University, to elementary and secondary education teachers in the Cyprus context. The paper also analyses the impact of such a Learning Design on teacher practice and considers barriers obstructing its uptake. Lastly, suggestions for future implementation are given in the conclusion.

The paper presents the basic aspects of developing professional-aesthetic taste of future cooks and confectioners. The Sate Standard of the direction of training future cooks and confectioners is viewed. On the basis of summarizing the results of pedagogic studies the main spheres of manifestation of professional-aesthetic taste of future cooks and confectioners are disclosed. The content of the notion “professional-aesthetic taste” with reference to future cooks and confectioners is defined. The main areas of professional-aesthetic taste - outward appearance of aesthetics, aesthetic organization of workplace, aesthetic design of confectionery, table appointments, aesthetics of interior, aesthetics of communication with consumers – are described.

After providing definition and social roles of communication, media and mass-media, placing of architecture and urban space as one of the media types is proposed. Subsequently, architecture is looked at in the context of mass-media meaning transmission methods, roles, functions, effects and drawbacks. Articulating phenomena in architectural communication are listed, along with exemplary methods, in which design of space can shape public opinion. Models of mass communication are defined and discussed in context of architecture and urban space. This paper provides examples of short-, intermediate-, and long-term effects facilitated through space, as well as analyses, how architecture performs functions of media in society.

Opis:
The drawing is the oldest language and the only universal language (here belongs also the co-called engineering or technology language - the design language). The tools of expression of engineering drawings are graphic representations. The drawing is written in form that represents the shape, size and specifications of the design object. The drawing is read so that the product can be manufactured exactly as it was originally conceived by the designer. The engineering drawing is based on descriptive geometry as the grammar of graphics, i.e. the logic of sight, and graphic variables as the words of graphics, i.e. semiotics tools – visual signs (e.g. geometric primitives, co lours). The signs are explained with the help of Bense’s triadic model of the sign. It assumes that each design object can be built from certain primitives according to geometric variables . The Engineering Drawing course begins with learning the design language which is based on graphic conventions and regularities.
Rysunek jest najstarszym i jedynym językiem uniwersalnym (dotyczy to także języka inżynierskiego i technicznego stanowiącego języka projektowania). Narzędziami wyrażenia rysunków technicznych są reprezentacje graficzne. Rysunek zapisywany jest w formie, która reprezentuje kształt, rozmiar i specyfikacje przedmiotu projektowania. Powinien być odczytywany tak, by dany produkt mógł być wytworzony zgodnie z pierwotnym opracowaniem przez projektanta. Podstawą teoretyczną rysunku technicznego jest geometria wykreślna, jako gramatyka grafiki, czyli logika widzenia i zmiennych (znaków) graficznych (prymitywów geometrycznych, kolorów, ). Znaki te mogą być opisane za pomoc ą tzw. triadycznego modelu Bense’a. Zakłada się, że każdy projektowany obiekt może być zbudowany z elementów pewnego zbioru pierwotnych zmiennych geometrycznych. Kurs rysunku technicznego rozpoczyna si ę od nauki języka projektowania opartego się na przyjętych konwencjach graficznych i regułach.

Due to the ease of access to the Internet, children more often become the recipients of the content placed therein. They are a specific group of Internet users due to their development conditions, which in contact with persuasive content, often not directly addressed to them, raises doubt. The importance of development conditions was often analysed in relation to the understanding and the child’s response to the content placed in traditional media. The development of the advertising market makes it necessary to update knowledge in this area. The study is an attempt to systematize the issues raised in the literature regarding the reception of online marketing communication by children (under 12 years of age). The literature review helped to identify the basic principles of construction of selected communication activities (e.g. websites dedicated to children), including competence development of children. Moreover, the attention was paid to the problems that may occur in the reception of persuasive messages on the Internet by children, including in the context of the model of knowledge about persuasion.

The relevance of this problem is related to an insufficient degree of the development of the issue of identifying the evaluation function of the competence-based training of students. The research objective: to identify and systematize, on the basis of the functional analysis of the knowledge-resource capacity of the teacher’s professional polyfunctional activity, the priority components that can be considered as indicators of quality and effectiveness of the competency-based training. The leading technologies to the study of this problem are the technologies of mastering the types of speech activity with adequate speech design, aspect-integrated learning, self-activation, personality-oriented communication, etc. In the article there are reflected the results of this work, during which students mastered the characteristics of the professional communication as important indicators of the quality level of the professional communicative competency. The article contents can be useful for practical professional activity of teachers of higher education institutions and high school teachers.

Transformacje modeli odgrywają istotną rolę w projektach projektowania systemów informatycznych wykorzystujących Model-Driven Development (MDD). Pozwalają automatyzować powtarzalne i dobrze określone czynności, przez co skracają czas projektowania oraz umożliwiają zmniejszenie liczby błędów. Wpodejściu obiektowym kluczowymi elementami są przypadki użycia. Są one opisywane, modelowane, a później projektowane, aż uzyskiwany jest działający kod aplikacji. W artykule przedstawiono transformację Communication-2-Class umożliwiającą automatyzację konstrukcji diagramu klas języka Unified Modeling Language (UML) tworzonego w realizacji przypadku użycia w ramach modelu analitycznego/projektowego. Diagram klas UML tworzony jest na podstawie diagramu komunikacji UML dla realizacji przypadku użycia. Dzięki temu diagram klas przedstawia wszystkie klasy zaangażowane w realizację przypadku użycia i związki między nimi. Wtyczka realizująca transformację Communication-2-Class została zrealizowana w środowisku IBMRational Software Architect. W artykule przedstawiono także wyniki testów opracowanej wtyczki realizującej transformację Communication-2-Class pokazujące możliwości skrócenia czasu projektowania realizacji przypadku użycia.
Model transformations play a key role in software development projects based on Model-Driven Development (MDD) principles. Transformations allow for automation of repetitive and well-defined steps, thus shortening design time and reducing a number of errors. In the object-oriented approach, the key elements are use cases. They are described, modelled and later designed until executable application code is obtained. The aim of the paper is to present transformation of a model-to-model type, Communication-2-Class, which automates construction of Unified Modelling Language (UML) class diagram in the context of the analysis/design model. An UML class diagram is created based on UML communication diagram within use case realization. As a result, a class diagram shows all of the classes involved in the use case realization and the relationships among them. The plug-in which implements Communication-2-Class transformation was implemented in the IBMRational Software Architect. The article presents the tests results of developed plug-in, which realizes Communication-2-Class transformation, showing capabilities of shortening use case realization’s design time.

The traditional 2D drawing (hand drawing) in engineering has a commonly known communication code. These communication codes (type of line, width of line or other marks) makes the engineering communication easier, faster and safer. In the last couple of decades new computer aided design and manufacturing methods have been developed. The communication has been changed. This article aims to investigate the gap between software development and rules of communication. Although software support has developed the communication codes and basics have not been significantly changed. 2D drawing code is not yet fully included in modern 3D CAD software. Automatic 2D drawing generation from 3D computer models results problems, for example in sections, cuts and break-outs. This paper shows the most common problems and makes recommendation through harmonisation of the communication codes.

Internet of Things (IoT) will play an important role in modern communication systems. Thousands of devices will talk to each other at the same time. Clearly, smart and efficient hardware will play a vital role in the development of IoT. In this context, the importance of antennas increases due to them being essential parts of communication networks. For IoT applications, a small size with good matching and over a wide frequency range is preferred to ensure reduced size of communication devices. In this paper, we propose a structure and discuss design optimization of a wideband antenna for IoT applications. The antenna consists of a stepped-impedance feed line, a rectangular radiator and a ground plane. The objective is to minimize the antenna footprint by simultaneously adjusting all geometry parameters and to maintain the electrical characteristic of antenna at an acceptable level. The obtained design exhibits dimensions of only 3.7 mm × 11.8 mm and a footprint of 44 mm2, an omnidirectional radiation pattern, and an excellent pattern stability. The proposed antenna can be easily handled within compact communication devices. The simulation results are validated through measurements of the fabricated antenna prototype.
