Reprint of the lecture delivered by Professor Allerhand in the name of the Commission of Codification of the Republic of Poland, Faculty of Law of the Jan Kazimierz University in Lwów and the Bar association during the Congress of Legal Apprentices in 1929. In the article, he raised issues related to the path to the barrister’s profession, education of lawyers and professional ethics. The paper was previously published in 1929 in “Młoda Palestra”, a magazine of legal apprentices from the post-Austrian district.

In December 2018, the General Assembly of PTP Delegates has accepted the new Code of Ethics of the Psychologists of the Polish Psychological Society and accepted the concept of a three-level system of ethical regulation. The proposal was supported by environmental and expert consultations. The first level is the newly adopted Code, presenting general ethical principles and the rights of clients, as well as the rights of psychologists. Regulations from this level relate to all professionals regardless of the specific areas of the professional performance, due to the fact they are all based on key values for each psychologist. Currently, work is underway to create ethical regulations from the second level, and hence individual psychological activities. The third level will include the detailed standards of psychologists’ work.

Opis:
Artykuł prezentuje podstawowe metody wprowadzania oczekiwanych standardów etycznych w organizacji. Najczęściej stosowaną metodą jest przyjęcie kodeksu etycznego. Jest to rozwiązanie proste, niemniej jego skuteczność zależy od takich czynników, jak: przygotowanie kompleksowego programu etycznego, analiza stanu wyjściowego, adekwatna formuła kodeksu czy partycypacja pracowników w jego przygotowaniu. Pierwsza część artykułu to ogólna refleksja dotycząca prób wpisania wrażliwości etycznej pracownika w instytucjonalne ramy działania organizacji. W drugiej części zostały sprecyzowane i poddane krytycznej analizie warunki, przy spełnieniu których kodeks etyczny ma szansę stać się skutecznym narzędziem promowania wysokich standardów etycznych.
The paper presents basic methods for introducing ethical standards that are expected of an organization. The most commonly used method is the approval of a code of ethics. The first part of the paper includes general reflections on attempts to fit the ethical sensibilities of employee into the institutionalized framework of the organization. The second part defines and conducts a critical analysis of conditions under which a code of ethics can become an effective tool for the promotion of high ethical standards.

Artykuł stanowi prezentację kompleksowego modelu formalnych i nieformalnych źródeł etyki akademickiej w Polsce. W tej kwestii autor analizuje trzy modele: 1) model integralności i wiarygodności; 2) model infrastruktury etycznej oraz 3) model społecznej odpowiedzialności nauki. Przy czym zawsze zakładamy, iż dany model stanowi system złożony, tj. składa się z rodzajowo różnych standardów etyki akademickiej, zarówno norm prawnych, jak i norm moralnych. Wskazane trzy modele nie ujawniają się jednak w Polsce w swojej czystej postaci. Raczej w procesie rozwoju stanowią one efekt pewnej ewolucji, ponieważ każdy kolejny model zawiera elementy modelu wcześniejszego. Proces stopniowej erozji modelu klasycznego (integralności i wiarygodności nauki) stanowi rezultat silnych obecnie ocen zewnętrznych, jak np. postulatu społecznej odpowiedzialności nauki oraz postulatu wzrostu efektywności prowadzenia badań naukowych.
The article presents a complex model of formal and informal sources of academic ethics in Poland. The author analyzes three models: 1) the model of integrity and credibility, 2) the model of ethical infrastructure and 3) the model of social responsibility. However, we are assuming that this model is a complex system, because it consists of various kinds of sources of academic ethics standards, both legal and moral sources. These three models, however, do not appear in Poland in pure form. Rather, it was a case of evolution in which the next model contained elements of the earlier model. The process of gradual erosion of the classical model (integrity and credibility of science) is the result of a strong influence of external conditions, mainly postulates of social responsibility of science and increase of effectiveness of scientific research.

Nowelizacja Kodeksu Etyczno-Zawodowego Psychologa zakończyła się powołaniem do życia nowego Kodeksu Etycznego Psychologa Polskiego Towarzystwa Psychologicznego przyjętego decyzją Walnego Zgromadzenia Delegatów PTP w grudniu 2018 roku. Nowy kodeks jest wynikiem kilkuletniej współpracy między powołanym do tego celu zespołem, a środowiskiem polskich psychologów. Prace nad projektem obejmowały między innymi solidne ugruntowanie formalne nowego kodeksu w przestrzeni już istniejących, podobnych aktów normatywnych, obowiązujących w Europie i na świecie. Założenia i podstawy projektu zakładały również osadzenie naczelnych wartości proponowanych w kodeksie na Powszechnej Deklaracji Praw Człowieka. Przyjęto trójstopniową, hierarchiczną strukturę aktu, czemu przyświecała idea otwartości nowego kodeksu na możliwe zmiany, dyskusje i kolejne nowelizacje.
The amendment to the Polish Code of Ethical and Professional Conduct in Psychology has resulted in the creation of a new Code of Ethics for the Psychologist of the Polish Psychological Society (PTP) adopted by the decision of the General Assembly of PTP Delegates in December 2018. The new code is the result of several years of cooperation between the team established for this purpose only and the environment of Polish psychologists.bWorking on the project included, among others, a formal consolidation of the new code within the space of already existing, similar normative acts in force in the European and international context. The assumptions and foundations of the project also assumed setting the main values proposed in the code on the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. A three-stage, hierarchical structure of the act has been introduced, which was guided by the idea of the openness of the new code to possible changes, discussions and subsequent amendments.

W grudniu 2018 r. Walne Zgromadzenie Delegatów PTP przyjęło Kodeks Etyczny Psychologa Polskiego Towarzystwa Psychologicznego a także zaakceptowało koncepcję trójstopniowego systemu regulacji etycznych. Propozycja poparta była konsultacjami środowiskowymi oraz eksperckimi. Poziom (stopień) pierwszy stanowi nowo przyjęty Kodeks, przedstawiający ogólne zasady etyczne oraz prawa odbiorców, a także prawa psychologów. Regulacje z tego poziomu odnoszą się do wszystkich przedstawicieli zawodu niezależnie od szczegółowych obszarów realizacji obowiązków zawodowych, ponieważ opierają się na kluczowych dla każdego psychologa wartościach. Obecnie podejmowane są prace nad tworzeniem regulacji etycznych z poziomu (stopnia) drugiego, a więc poszczególnych działań psychologicznych. Poziom (stopień) trzeci stanowić będą szczegółowe standardy pracy psychologów.

Artykuł przedstawia rolę kodeksów dobrych praktyk w kształtowaniu ładu korporacyjnego.
The corporate governance has developed with the market economy. Good corporate governance should provide proper incentives for the board and management to pursue objectives that are in the interests of the company and its shareholders and should facilitate effective monitoring. It expanded the group of stakeholders, whose rights has to be protected. The increase of interest in the capital market; the growing group of small investors; investment and pension funds. The main aim of this article is to present and highlight the role the Code of Good Practice plays in improving the quality of corporate governance.

Artykuł jest zbiorem refleksji etycznych wynikających z doświadczeń autora w prowadzeniu badań z udziałem rodziców dzieci z zespołem Aspergera. Punktem odniesienia dla tych rozważań są wybrane zapisy zawarte w „Kodeksie etyki socjologa”, w części dotyczącej relacji z uczestnikami badań. W szczególności zostały przeanalizowane problemy etyczne związane z relacjami pomiędzy badaczem a osobami badanymi: Gdzie przebiega granica pomiędzy rolą badacza a innymi możliwymi rolami (np. konsultanta, osoby wspierającej, terapeuty)? Czy można wykroczyć poza rolę badacza? Wskazano także na trudności związane z przestrzeganiem zasady mówiącej, że prowadzone badania nie mogą mieć negatywnego wpływu na stan ich uczestników: Czy takie badania powinni prowadzić jedynie socjologowie będący jednocześnie psychologami czy terapeutami, a więc osoby profesjonalnie przygotowane na niespodziewane reakcje osób doświadczonych trudnymi do wyobrażenia problemami codzienności życia z dzieckiem z niepełnosprawnością? Czy jest możliwe przygotowanie się na takie niespodziewane sytuacje w rozmowie z rodzicami dzieci z zespołem Aspergera? W artykule pokazano, że na te pytania nie ma jednoznacznej odpowiedzi.
The article is a collection of reflections involving ethical issues, developed by the author over the course of the research process involving parents of children with Asperger’s syndrome. As a point of reference for these considerations, the author has chosen selected entries of the “Sociologist’s code of ethics” of the Polish Sociological Association in the section concerning the researcherparticipant relationship. The article focuses on the ethical problems in terms of the relationship between the researcher and the examined subjects, analysing such questions as: Where is the boundary between the role of the researcher and other possible roles (e.g., that of a consultant, support person, or therapist) or can one go beyond the role of researcher? The author also points out some difficulties arising from adhering to the principle that research must not have a negative impact on the condition of its participants. Should such research only be carried out by sociologists who are also professional psychologists or therapists, and as such are prepared for various unexpected reactions of people facing, often hard to imagine, everyday difficulties with a disabled child? Is it possible to prepare oneself for such unexpected situations that may arise in conversation with parents of children with Asperger’s syndrome? However, there are no simple answers to these questions.

The purpose of the paper is to explore the conflict between the employee’s privacy protection and the employer’s interests and to show how this conflict can be soften. In the first part of the paper an essence of the conflict is presented. The second part is devoted to analysis of several spheres in which the employee’s privacy can be violated. Despite their vibrant contribution to the achievement of democratic governance in Nigeria, the mass media, if unchecked, could destabilize facets of society. Consternation stems from the fact that codes of ethics designed by media associations have not been binding on members, and all attempts by government to regulate journalism practice have been rebuff ed, while journal- ists and mass media owners exult in unrestrained press freedom. Consequently, gross violations of media ethics plague journalism practices. To forestall the virulent socio-political impact of press actions observed in the past and institute responsible journalism, media associations and the gen- eral public, under the auspices of the legislature, should arrive at acceptable codes that will guide journalism practice.

The aim of this article is to present and analyze the legal problems and ethical dilemmas of researchers studying difficult ways of life. There are a lot of questions about the ethical, acceptable and legal ways of research and in relation to the participants of the research. The practical aim of this article is to answerthe question what we should do when we face different ethical dilemmas in our studies. A special difficult situation occurs to the researcher – pedagogue of social rehabilitation, because by conducting research on the phenomena of social exclusion or social pathology they describe and analyze situations related to crime, para-criminal behaviors, addictions, and provide profound diagnosis of disorders or therapy. During scientific research, the scholar penetrates the difficult situations, faces ethical dilemmas and encounters legal problems. Legal awareness and ethical responsibility are the guarantees of the pedagogue’s safety but above all the safety of the respondents. Although the article is not a complete and comprehensive study, it responds to the needs of researchers who themselves have to answer many questions about legal issues and solve many ethical dilemmas in the process of collecting and developing data.

The aim of this article is the presentation and analysis of the selected ethical dilemmas and legal problems of a researcher in the study of the difficult way of life. There are a lot of questions about the ethical, decent and legal manner of research and behaviour in relation with the participators of the research. The practical aim of this article is the answer to the question – what should we do when we have various ethical dilemmas in our studies. A special difficult situation concerns the researcher – a  pedagogue of social rehabilitation, because by conducting research on the phenomena of social exclusion or social pathology, he/she describes and analyses situations related to crime, para-criminal behaviours, addictions, touches the problems of deep diagnosis of disorders or therapy. During scientific research, he / she ‘goes deeper’ into difficult situations, ethical dilemmas, and brushes against legal problems. The guarantee of his/her safety, but above all the safety of respondents, is the legal awareness and ethical responsibility of the pedagogue. Although the article is not a complete and comprehensive study, it responds to the needs of researchers who themselves have to answer many questions about legal issues and solve any ethical dilemmas themselves in the process of collecting and developing data.

Tematem niniejszego artykułu jest Internet z uwzględnieniem etapów jego rozwoju i rozprzestrzeniania się w przeciągu pięćdziesięciu lat, aż do ukształtowania się Web 2, czyli globalnej sieci, która obecnie użytkowana jest na całym świecie. Zwrócono tu także uwagę na netykietę, która stanowi Kodeks Etyczny Internetu oraz jej istotną rolę dla zachowania bezpieczeństwa w globalnej sieci. Dokonano również charakterystyki poszczególnych obszarów użytkowania Internetu tj. word wide Web, e-mail, asynchroniczne fora i grupy dyskusyjne, czat, komunikatory internetowe, serwisy społecznościowe, pozyskiwanie danych oraz gry sieciowe
The article focuses on the Internet including stages of its development and spread over fifty years until the establishment of Web 2 which is the global network currently used worldwide. The attention has also been paid to the netiquette which is the Internet Code of Ethics and its significant role in providing security to the global Web. The summary of some Internet application areas, such as world wide web, e-mail, asynchronous forums, discussion groups, chat, internet communicators, social media, data sourcing and online games have also been provided

The formation process of various types of ethics within applied ethics is far from complete. It is necessary to respond to the emergence of new professions and to pay attention to those professions in which ethics and morality still do not have a place or are not represented in a distinctive way; this also applies to the profession of politics - ethics of a politician as a type of professional ethics.
Proces tworzenia różnych rodzajów etyki w etyce stosowanej nie jest kompletny. Konieczne jest reagowanie na pojawienie się nowych zawodów oraz zwrócenie uwagi na zawody, w których etyka i moralność nadal nie mają miejsca lub nie są przedstawiane w odpowiedni sposób; to również odnosi się do zawodu polityka – etyka polityka jako etyka zawodowa.
