Opis:
A study is made of a symmetric functional calculus for a system of bounded linear operators acting on a Banach space. Finite real linear combinations of the operators have real spectra, but the operators do not necessarily commute with each other. Analytic functions of the operators are formed by using functions taking their values in a Clifford algebra.

Opis:
The standard 16-dimensional and new 64-dimensional representations of the Clifford algebras in the terms of Dirac matrices are under consideration. The matrix 64-dimensional representation of the Clifford algebra over the field of real numbers is presented. The relationship of this representation to the matrix representation of 28-dimensional algebra, which contains the standard and additional spin operators, is given. The role of matrix representations of the Clifford algebra in the quantum field theory is described. The role of matrix representations of and algebras in the proof of Fermion-Boson duality property of the Dirac and higher spin Dirac-like equations is demonstrated.

Opis:
Medical imaging tasks, such as segmentation, 3D modeling, and registration of medical images, involve complex geometric problems, usually solved by standard linear algebra and matrix calculations. In the last few decades, conformal geometric algebra (CGA) has emerged as a new approach to geometric computing that offers a simple and efficient representation of geometric objects and transformations. However, the practical use of CGA-based methods for big data image processing in medical imaging requires fast and efficient implementations of CGA operations to meet both real-time processing constraints and accuracy requirements. The purpose of this study is to present a novel implementation of CGA-based medical imaging techniques that makes them effective and practically usable. The paper exploits a new simplified formulation of CGA operators that allows significantly reduced execution times while maintaining the needed result precision. We have exploited this novel CGA formulation to re-design a suite of medical imaging automatic methods, including image segmentation, 3D reconstruction and registration. Experimental tests show that the re-formulated CGA-based methods lead to both higher precision results and reduced computation times, which makes them suitable for big data image processing applications. The segmentation algorithm provides the Dice index, sensitivity and specificity values of 98.14%, 98.05% and 97.73%, respectively, while the order of magnitude of the errors measured for the registration methods is 10-5.

Opis:
Let J and R be anti-commuting fundamental symmetries in a Hilbert space ℘. The operators J and R can be interpreted as basis (generating) elements of the complex Clifford algebra Cl2(J,R) := span{I, J;R, iJR}. An arbitrary non-trivial fundamental symmetry from Cl2(J,R) is determined by the formula [formula]. Let S be a symmetric operator that commutes with Cl2(J,R). The purpose of this paper is to study the sets [formula] of self-adjoint extensions of S in Krein spaces generated by fundamental symmetries [formula]. We show that the sets [formula] and [formula] are unitarily equivalent for different [formula] and describe in detail the structure of operators [formula] with empty resolvent set.
