The internal differentiation of Slavic studies (history, linguistics, literary criticism, cultural studies) loses the perspective of system integrity. The development of the humanities led to the emergence of trends aimed at a complex comprehension of Slavdom in the light of the general patterns of European civilization and the characteristics of their local refraction. In the development of such a set of problems, thinking in the categories of holism, methods of interdisciplinarity and comparative studies are especially promising.
Внутренняя дифференциация славистики (история, языкознание, литературоведение, культурология) утрачивает перспективу системной целостности. Развитие гуманитарных наук обусловило появление направлений, нацеленных на комплексное постижение славянства в свете общих закономерностей европейской цивилизации и особенностей их локального преломления. В разработке такого комплекса проблем особенно перспективным представляется мышление в категориях холизма, методы интердисциплинарности и компаративистики.

Opis:
The work focuses on assessment of soil physicochemical parameters influence on 137Cs accumulation in Of soil horizon. Besides organic matter content and pH, the parameters related to sorption properties and mobile ions concentration were considered. The data were transformed using Box-Cox formula. To find mutual relationships between variables cluster analysis (CA) and principal components analysis (PCA) were used. It was found that the transformed physicochemical parameters in Of horizon are more or less related with each other but no linear or nearly linear relationships between 137Cs activity and physicochemical parameters were found.

Opis:
Energy levels, line strengths, oscillator strengths, radiative decay rates and fine structure collision strengths are presented for sixteen-times ionized iron (Fe XVII). The atomic data are calculated with the AUTOSTRUCTURE code, where relativistic corrections are introduced according to the Breit-Pauli distorted wave approach. The calculations of atomic data for 89 fine-structure levels generated from eleven configurations 2s²2p⁶, 2s²2p⁵ (3s, 3p, 3d), 2s²2p⁵ (4s, 4p, 4d, 4f) and 2s¹2p⁶ (3s, 3p, 3d) of the Ne-like Fe ion are presented. Fine structure collision strengths for transitions from the ground and the first four excited levels are presented at four electron energies: 75, 125, 175, and 250 Ry. These atomic structure data are compared with the available experimental and theoretical results.

Opis:
Children’s contemporary literature often presents an ambiguous and even immoral world of values, not to speak of Christian virtues, which are neither emphatically mentioned nor even faintly evoked. Theological virtues enhance human capacities and elevate every person to their highest being, to the supernatural order they are created for. Directly related to the Scriptures, for they are revealed, the theological virtues suggest an unavoidable and clear connection to God. In C.S. Lewis’ Chronicles of Narnia we find a useful counterexample to teaching morals through literature: these seven fantasy novels provide multiple examples of how to be faithful, hopeful and even how to practice the virtue of charity. Considering that through a fictional evocation of certain concepts these might be apprehended more significantly, in this paper we aim to explore new readings of the saga that go beyond a general approach in order to transcend its allegorical mechanisms and respond to criteria such as the virtue of charity and its two main features: vicariousness and forgiveness.
Współczesna literatura dziecięca często przedstawia niejednoznaczny, a nawet niemoralny świat wartości, nie mówiąc już o cnotach chrześcijańskich, na które nie tylko nie kładzie ona nacisku, ale o których nie wspomina nawet mimochodem. Cnoty teologiczne doskonalą ludzkie sprawności i podnoszą człowieka do najwyższego poziomu jego bytu, do porządku nadprzyrodzonego, dla którego został stworzony. Cnoty teologiczne, bezpośrednio zakorzenione w Piśmie Świętym i należące do materii Objawienia, w nieunikniony sposób wyraźnie odsyłają do Boga. Wbrew rozpowszechnionemu trendowi, Opowieści z Narnii C.S. Lewisa stanowią użyteczny przykład nauczania moralności poprzez literaturę: te siedem powieści fantasy daje wiele przykładów, jak być wiernym, pełnym nadziei, a nawet jak praktykować cnotę miłości. Biorąc pod uwagę fakt, że pewne pojęcia można uchwycić znacznie lepiej poprzez ich fikcyjną ewokację, w niniejszym artykule zamierzamy dokonać nowego odczytania sagi, odbiegającego od jej standardowego ujęcia, aby wyjść poza jej alegoryczne mechanizmy i rozpoznać cnotę miłości oraz jej dwojaki charakter: zastępczy i przebaczający.

Radiative lifetimes were calculated using weakest bound electron potential model theory for $4s^{2}$ ns $\text{}^{2}S_{1//2}$ (n ≥ 7), $4s^{2}$ np $\text{}^{2}P^{0}_{1//2}$ (n ≥ 5), $4s^{2}$ np $\text{}^{2}P$ $\text{}^{0}_{3//2}$ (n ≥ 6), $4s^{2}$ nd $\text{}^{2}D_{3//2}^{0}$ (n ≥ 6), $4s^{2}$ nd $\text{}^{2}D$ $\text{}_{5//2}^{0}$ (n ≥ 6) series in neutral gallium. The use of the quantum defect theory and Martin's expressions allowed us to supply lifetime values along by means of the series above. The results obtained in this work presented good agreement with theoretical and experimental values. Moreover, some lifetime values not existing in the literature for highly excited Rydberg states in gallium atom were obtained using this method.

Based on the work of Gilbert Keith Chesterton and Clive Staples Lewis, the author analyzes the role of humor in the Christian spirituality and the connection between humor and other values such as love, humility, freedom and truth. Na podstawie twórczości Gilberta Keitha Chestertona i Clive’a Staplesa Lewisa autor analizuje rolę humoru w duchowości chrześcijanina i związek humoru z wybranymi wartościami: pokorą, miłością, wolnością i prawdą. Jednym z wniosków jest ten, że obaj tytułowi pisarze uważali i ukazywali humor jako rodzaj indykatora, który wskazuje, z jaką autentycznością i głębią są przeżywane i realizowane wymienione wartości.

The aim of the article is to investigate some of the possible sources of inspiration for Orwell’s concept of the artificial language called Newspeak, which, in his novel Nineteen Eighty-Four, is shown as an effective tool of enslavement and thought control in the hands of a totalitarian state. The author discusses, in this context, the putative links between Newspeak and really existing artificial languages, first of all Esperanto, and also between Orwell’s notion of “doublethink”, which is an important feature of the totalitarian mentality, and Czesław Miłosz’s notion of “ketman”, developed in his book The Captive Mind. But the main emphasis is on the connection between Orwell’s book and the slightly earlier novel by C.S. Lewis, That Hideous Strength. It is well known that Orwell knew Lewis’s book and expressed his mixed feelings about it. There are many specific, though far from obvious, similarities between the two books, but what seems to have been particularly inspiring for Orwell was Lewis’s vision of a thoroughly degenerate language that is used for political manipulation rather than for communication.
Celem artykułu jest zbadanie wybranych źródeł inspiracji, które mogły posłużyć G. Orwellowi do stworzenia koncepcji sztucznego języka zwanego Nowomową, który w powieści Rok 1984 ukazany jest jako skuteczne narzędzie zniewolenia i kontrolowania myśli w ręku totalitarnej władzy. Autor omawia w tym kontekście możliwe związki między Nowomową a rzeczywiście istniejącymi sztucznymi językami, takimi jak Esperanto. Wskazane są również podobieństwa i różnice między Orwellowską koncepcją „dwójmyślenia” a pojęciem „ketmanu” zdefiniowanym w książce Czesława Miłosza pt. Zniewolony umysł. Jednak główny nacisk położony jest na związki między powieścią Orwella a fantastyczno-naukową powieścią C.S. Lewisa pod tytułem Ta ohydna siła. Wiadomo, że Orwell książkę Lewisa znał i nawet ją zrecenzował. Istnieje wiele bardziej i mniej oczywistych podobieństw między tymi dwoma wybitnymi wizjami zdegenerowanego języka, który służy bardziej politycznej manipulacji niż wzajemnemu zrozumieniu.

Advancement in medical technology creates some issues related to data transmission as well as storage. In real-time processing, it is too tedious to limit the flow of data as it may reduce the meaningful information too. So, an efficient technique is required to compress the data. This problem arises in Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI), Electrocardiogram (ECG), Electroencephalogram (EEG), and other medical signal processing domains. In this paper, we demonstrate Block Sparse Bayesian Learning (BSBL) based compressive sensing technique on an Electroencephalogram (EEG) signal. The efficiency of the algorithm is described using the Mean Square Error (MSE) and Structural Similarity Index Measure (SSIM) value. Apart from this analysis we also use different combinations of sensing matrices too, to demonstrate the effect of sensing matrices on MSE and SSIM value. And here we got that the exponential and chi-square random matrices as a sensing matrix are showing a significant change in the value of MSE and SSIM. So, in real-time body sensor networks, this scheme will contribute a significant reduction in power requirement due to its data compression ability as well as it will reduce the cost and the size of the device used for real-time monitoring.

The quality in ceramic mould precision casting process include mostly surface quality of casts and their dimensional accuracy represented by six sigma deviation from the nominal dimensions (ΔL6δ). This article present achieved results of examination of cast’s surface finish. The dimensional analysis accuracy of expended polystyrene patterns and castings made from these patterns was executed.
Jakość w procesie odlewnictwa precyzyjnego w formy ceramiczne obejmuje przede wszystkim stan powierzchni odlewów i ich dokładność wymiarową rozumianą jako odchyłkę sześciosigmową wymiarów nominalnych (ΔL6δ). W artykule zaprezentowano uzyskane wyniki badań stanu powierzchni odlewów. Wykonano analizę dokładności modeli z polistyrenu i odlewów wykonanych na tych modelach.

The paper presents results for the 137Cs, 90Sr, 40K activity concentrations and 228Th/232Th, 230Th/232Th activity ratios in several samples needles from two Norway spruce (Picea abies) trees and two soil samples collected in the Tatra Mountains (Poland) area. Activities for artificial 137Cs and 90Sr show moderate values. Statistically different values were found between the mean concentration of 90Sr and 137Cs in current (C) and two years old (C+2) needles of the first tree, whereas for potassium no significant difference was observed. For the second, fallen tree, no significant difference between the mean activity concentration in needles for C+1 and C+2 was found for each radionuclide, but much lower levels of 137Cs contamination were observed. Observed values of the aggregation coefficients for 137Cs and 90Sr are presented.

This paper attempts to point out the continued confusion in some literature with respect to the concepts of marketing and logistics, and their relatedness. These are usually, and maybe inadvertently, treated as separate and independent functions. This frame of reference can often lead to costly mistakes. Authors frequently describe them as if they are two different functions: that of marketing, and that of logistics. Actually, logistics is a submix of marketing. The fact that logistics is a part of marketing is usually ignored. This kind of approach is still prevalent in most writing. Yet we must talk about two submixes of marketing, one of which is logistics, or servicing demand, and the other, which is obtaining demand. Therefore, the connection and interdependence of marketing and logistics terminology must be put into their proper place for correct and complete analysis. For this purpose, a Dual Subfunction Model is presented to tie together logistics and the remaining part of marketing. This model may serve as a guide for more accurate analyses, or at least as a reminder for consideration by novices.

On the equivalents of the Greek ὁ ναόϛ, ἡ ἐκκλησία, τό ἁγίασμα, τό ἁγιαστήριον and ἡ ἁγιωσύνη in CS Psalter redactionsThe paper refers to the lexical variety of translations reflected in CS redactions of the Book of Psalms. It is focused on semantic and quantitative analysis of the use of Slavonic equivalents of the Greek ὁ ναόϛ, ἡ ἐκκλησία, τό ἁγίασμα, τό ἁγιαστήριον and ἡ ἁγιωσύνη (i.e., of vocabulary with the denotations: ‘sanctuary, temple, place of living/habitation of God’ and also ‘community of the faithful with the Lord, Church’) in selected representative CS redactions of the Book of Psalms: archaic, mixed (archaic and Russian), Russian (or East-Bulgarian), Norov, Athonite and Cyprian. Koncentruje się na semantycznej i ilościowej analizie użyć słowiańskich odpowiedników gr. ὁ ναόϛ, ἡ ἐκκλησία, τό ἁγίασμα, τό ἁγιαστήριον, ἡ ἁγιωσύνη (tj. słownictwa z zakresu oznaczeń ‘świętego przybytku, budynku świątynnego, miejsca zamieszkania/przebywania Boga’, a także ‘zgromadzenia wiernych z Panem, Kościoła’) w wybranych reprezentantach cs. redakcji psałterzowych: archaicznej, mieszanej (archaiczno-ruskiej), ruskiej (albo wschodniobułgarskiej), norowskiej, atońskiej i cyprianowskiej. Eksponuje zarówno podobieństwa, jak i różnice w doborze rozpatrywanych leksemów w porównywanych psałterzach oraz podaje interpretację zaobserwowanych użyć.
