Our considerations [Bratnicki, Kisielnicki, Olszak 2014] on the issue of organizational creativity have resulted to the integration of two research areas: organizational creativity (from the strategic perspective and dynamic capabilities) and ICT. Consequently, we have proposed the holistic concept of organizational creativity computer support. To create it, Hevner et al. [2004] design-science research guidelines were used.

Celem artykułu jest przedstawienie rozważań nad integracją systemów informatycznych klasy ERP, APS i MES do wsparcia realizacji automatycznie pozyskiwanych danych do analiz oraz procesów decyzyjnych w module Zrównoważonej Karty Wyników w rozwiązaniach Business Intelligence. W ramach artykułu przeanalizowano przepływ danych w zintegrowanych systemach ERP, APS i MES. Przedstawiono koncepcję zastosowania metodologii Zrównoważonej Karty Wyników do zarządzania strategicznego firmami produkcyjnymi. Opisano także wpływ integracji systemów ERP, APS i MES na realizację strategii firmy. Dodatkowo zaproponowano scenariusz automatycznego pobierania danych w czasie rzeczywistym do systemu Business Intelligence. Na podstawie tych danych w systemie BI wyliczane są wskaźniki do oceny realizacji strategii w ramach czterech perspektyw (finansowej, klienta, procesów wewnętrznych oraz uczenia się i wzrostu) Zrównoważonej Karty Wyników. Proponowane przez autorów podejście ma na celu znaczące poprawienie rzetelności danych wejściowych, na podstawie których wyliczane są wskaźniki postępu realizacji strategii w module Zrównoważonej Karty Wyników. W konsekwencji pozwoli to na zmniejszenie ryzyka wykorzystania błędnych danych wejściowych w procesach planowania strategicznego i oceny stopnia realizacji zatwierdzonej strategii.
This article presents reflections on integration of ERP, APS and MES information systems for support of automated analysis and simplify decision processes using Balanced Scorecard module embedded in Business Intelligence solutions. Authors analyzed flow of messages in integrated ERP, APS and MES systems. The article presents idea of applying Balanced Scorecard methodology for strategic management in manufacturing companies. The article describes also influence of integrated ERP, APS and MES systems on company strategy execution. In addition authors propose scenarios of real-time automatic collection of data for Business Intelligence module. Based on these data Business Intelligence system calculates strategy related indicators in four perspectives (financial, customer, internal processes and growth) of Balanced Scorecard methodology. Authors propose new approach aims to significantly improve reliability and credibility of input data used in Balanced Scorecard module for strategy execution evaluation process. In consequence, this will reduce risk of using erroneous input data in strategy planning and strategy execution evaluation processes.

Opis:
Organizations from a public sector use often and often modern technologies in order to serve better information society. Business intelligence (BI) seems to be promising solution addressed also for this sector. The aim of this paper is presentation of initial investigation in selected administration units and so-called infrastructural enterprises. Apart of general view of research (stressing areas of a survey) in the BI domain - potential proposal of BI applications in the Dzierżoniow district are presented. Main assumptions of the questionnaire elaborated in order to identify user's needs in BI applications are presented in the main part of the paper.

Artykuł prezentuje nowe, samoobsługowe podejście w rozwoju systemów Business Intelligence - Self Service BI, mające wpływ na zmianę sposobu korzystania z informacji zgromadzonych w przedsiębiorstwie przez rachunkowość zarządczą. Szczególną uwagę zwrócono na możliwość daleko posuniętej indywidualizacji sposobu wykorzystania, prezentacji i rozwijania zakresu informacji gromadzonej przez zarządzających. Wyróżniono również cechy Self Service BI wywierające wpływ na zmiany w rachunkowości zarządczej, w tym jej rolę w przedsiębiorstwie.
Paper presents a new, self-service approach to the development of Business Intelligence systems - Self Service BI, which impacts management accounting possibilities of information usage. The main focus of the article was put on individualization of data usage and presentation forms possibilities as well as developing the scope of data sources available for management accounting. The main features of Self Service approach and their impact on management accounting and its role within the organization were presented.

W artykule przedstawiono propozycję rozszerzenia funkcjonalności w systemie klasy Business Intelligence na potrzeby menedżerów małych i średnich przedsiębiorstw (MŚP). Dotyczy ona dwóch istotnych aspektów systemu, tj. interfejsu, uwzględniającego poziom wiedzy menedżera, oraz wspomagania interpretacji danych ekonomiczno-finansowych z wykorzystaniem wbudowanej w systemie ontologii dla wybranych obszarów analizy finansowej. Prowadzone badania związane są z budową inteligentnego interfejsu dla systemów wspomagających podejmowanie decyzji przez menedżera, którego istotnym elementem jest tworzony model jego wiedzy przy wykorzystaniu oprogramowania do eye trackingu. Przeprowadzono eksperyment na rzeczywistych danych finansowych z wykorzystaniem systemu BINOCLE firmy Bilander oraz oprogramowania do eye trackingu Tobii StudioTM firmy Tobii, w którym uczestniczyli analitycy finansowi, specjaliści controllingu i menedżerowie.
This paper presents a proposal to extend the functionality of the Business Intelligence system for Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (SMEs). It concerns two major issues of the system, ie. the interface that takes into account the level of manager knowledge, and the support in the interpretation of economic and financial data using the built-in ontology system covering selected areas of financial analysis. The studies are related to the discovery of manager knowledge from report observations patterns, captured by eye-tracking software and data mining techniques. An experiment, in which attended by managers of SMEs, financial analysts and students of Economics, was conducted on real financial reports available in BINOCLE information system.

Every large organization has problems coordinating the activities of all the employees. We study the practical aspects of using a main Management Information System , called MIS, to enable management by objectives. This method called MBO can be applied for a large audience, including the widely understood management of a company and consultants (sellers) whose job involves direct contact with customers. This paper presents a study of the phases of determining the specific sets of tasks for the financial year and the principles of their normalization (standardization).We discuss the necessary functionality of the MIS (or precisely - the applications which support the MBO process), which enables participants of the MBO process to create and maintain a list of task definitions at every level of the organization structure of a company.

The main goal of this paper is to present important assumptions underlying the idea of BI-based organization and to identify the factors that allow it to achieve the business success with BI. The structure of this paper and research methods have been subordinated to this goal. Firstly, an overview of subject literature on BI has been conducted. Then, the idea of BI-based organization has been described. Next, the issue of maturity models for BI has been presented. Using an in-depth interview method, the results from the analysis of twenty firms applying BI systems have been described. Finally, the most important factors that determine the business success with BI have been proposed.

The article presents the approach to develop the financial knowledge used for the Decision Support System. The content of the knowledge is focused on essential concepts related to the management of micro, small and medium enterprises. Knowledge-based functions, not previously available in commercial systems, increase the quality, effectiveness, and efficiency of the decision making process. The Decision Support System for SME Managers contains six ontologies describing areas of Cash Flow at Risk, Comprehensive Risk Measurement, Early Warning Models, Credit Scoring, Financial Market, and General Financial Knowledge. The ontology design process and examples of topic maps and usage in financial data analysis are presented here.

The article is only an outline of using Analytical systems, especially Business Intelligence, for supporting decision making process in healthcare organizations. The paper discusses the essence of Healthcare Intelligence solutions and its potential applications. Also challenges of implementation, limitations and benefits were presented in the paper. In order to diagnose the problem, the bibliographic query, analysis, synthesis and case study methods were used.

The aim of this article is to introduce essence of performance dashboards and present possibility of its usage in the field of education, with particular emphasis on the monitoring of student learning progress. Dashboard is an useful Business Intelligence tool for integration and visualization of data, often using the data warehouses. It is an interactive, intuitive, convenient and transparent graphical monitoring tool. Dashboards with its advantages can be successfully used in educational institutions such as for instance: schools, colleges, training centers etc. Dashboards are designed to support decision-making process through sharing condensed information to policy makers through the presentation of key performance indicators. Authors identified and described two main contexts of monitoring the performance of e-learning: monitoring the progress of students by teachers and self-monitoring of progress in courses by students. Authors presented several examples of dashboards that were used in the field of education. Dashboard has been presented also as an useful graphical analytical interface based on data from Learning Management Systems (LMS), which have also been briefly defined.

In the paper, an evaluation of the efficiency of the application of ERP class integrated systems and BI tools was carried out, through analysis of two cases micro-and-small enterprises (MSEs). An analysis of the observed successes allowed precise definition of key factors in their successes or failures, in the scope of the efficiency of BI tools application in management. Confirmed rules for guaranteeing of unconditional compatibility of the contents of data warehouses with the transactional databases are, in the opinion of the author, a necessary condition for long-term success with BI application in decisions-making processes. The solutions proposed in the paper for a data processing organisation system were effectively verified over several years’ use at the POZKAL printing house in Inowroclaw. Such solutions force compatibility of transactional databases with data warehouse contents, an area often underestimated by the authors of other publications in this area.

W ostatniej części zaprezentowano zagadnienia dotyczące wpływu omawianych teorii na modelowanie i stosowalność agentów programowych oraz zaproponowano elementy ontologii w notacji OWL opisującej powiązanie systemu agentowego z systemem BI.

Effective decision-making in industry conditions requires access and proper presentation of manufacturing data on the realised manufacturing process. Although the frequently applied ERP systems allow for recording economic events, their potential for decision support is limited. The article presents an original system for reporting manufacturing data based on Business Intelligence technology as a support for junior and middle management. Wdrażanie infrastruktury Smart Grid (tzw. inteligentnej sieci elektroenergetycznej) spowodowało pojawienie się nieznanych wcześniej problemów związanych z przetwarzaniem oraz analizowaniem dużych i zróżnicowanych zbiorów danych, które z uwagi na bezpieczeństwo sieci i uczestników gry rynkowej powinno być realizowane w czasie niemal rzeczywistym. Co więcej, postępujące na rynku energii elektrycznej zmiany implikują przejście od modelu tradycyjnego do rynku bardziej zorientowanego na klienta. Wynika to przede wszystkim ze zwiększonego dostępu do narzędzi i informacji pozwalających na monitorowanie i redukcję zużycia energii oraz rosnącej świadomości konsumentów odnośnie do przysługującego im prawa zmiany sprzedawcy energii elektrycznej. Portale internetowe czy media społecznościowe stają się miejscem dyskusji, porównania i oceny obecnie dostępnych ofert. Tym samym odpowiednio przeanalizowane informacje publikowane za ich pośrednictwem mogą być źródłem budowania przewagi konkurencyjnej firmy. Artykuł ocenia możliwości wsparcia potrzeb informacyjnych przedsiębiorstw funkcjonujących na rynku energii elektrycznej poprzez wykorzystanie analizy wydźwięku opinii klientów o operatorach energetycznych oraz o produktach przez nich oferowanych.
The implementation of the Smart Grid infrastructure caused previously unknown problems connected with processing and analyzing large and diverse data sets. Due to the security of the electricity network and the market participants, the processing and analyzing large data sets should be achieved in the near real-time. Furthermore, the changes in the electricity market have implied a shift from the traditional market model to the customer-oriented market. This is primarily a result of the increasing access to the tools and information which allow consumers to monitor and reduce the energy consumption, and of the customers' growing awareness about the right to change their electricity supplier. Web portals and social media have become a place for discussion, comparison and review of the currently available offers. Thus, the proper analysis of the information published on such websites can be a source of competitive advantage for the electricity suppliers. The article shows a possibility to support the information needs of electricity companies by means of the sentiment analysis of customer's reviews on energy suppliers and on the services they offer.
