Tajemnica Miłosierdzia jest porządkiem przyniesionym przez Chrystusa wraz z Dobrą Nowiną. Jest to misterium Bożej miłości i miłosierdzia. On „tak umiłował świat, że Syna swego Jednorodzonego dał, aby każdy, kto w Niego wierzy, nie zginął, ale miał życie wieczne” (J 3,16). Słowo Boga – Miłości – Miłosierdzia przyszło wraz z Chrystusem. Przychodzi w Synu – w tym Synu, który jest współistotny Ojcu, którego chwałę głosi Kościół.

The article presents the attempt of philisophical description of the Mercy as a a phenomenon, one of dimensions of human love. The web sermons of Fr. Zbigniew Wolak have been analised within. According to his standpoint, mercy shown by a human means sympathy, i.e. showing that one understands another's suffering a wrong followed by an actual deed aimed at remedying that. A full form of that love - seen as such due to the fact that it is shown not only the closest ones but also one's enemies or wrong-doers - expresses itself in a time of ordeal while confronted with some negative situation it becomes possible for it to be fulfilled. The Mercy is the response to evil committed by a human. Also, it reveals the very truth of a human, leading them to better understanding themselves. The author states that the merciful love can be found among human experience and it requires the proper upbringing. Given that, it cannot be described in a purely logical way. What is more, it is a spuritual human ability that brings into the open the mysterious upper level of human existence.

The author of this article analyses different meanings of the term “mercy”. He begins with the ancient use of the word by pagan philosophers. This is the background for the analysis of the term “mercy” in the Old and New Testament. The biblical sources lead to the definition of dogmatic foundations of the Divine Mercy and demonstrate ethical and moral aspects of human mercy. A social dimension of mercy is closely connected with the latter one. The author also deals with other dimensions of mercy, such as: pastoral, liturgical, psychological and juridical ones. He also discusses the meaning of mercy in spirituality and Christian art.

The narrative about two malefactors accompanying Jesus in his agony on the cross (Luke 23,39-43) is sometimes considered the summit of the Gospel of St. Luke. The criminal who in the moment of his agony confesses in Jesus the innocent and just Savior seems to be one of many personages of Luke’s Gospel who in the most dramatic moment of their life discover the mystery of the Merciful God. Their plea and confidence in Jesus does not remain without an answer. The moment of the dramatic trial becomes also the moment of the salutary encounter with Divine Mercy. This true makes the narrative worth being discovered, especially in the con-text of the Extraordinary Jubilee of Mercy.

Saint Mary Faustina Kowalska and her message are well known to a contemporary Pole. Her personage and work still delight new multitudes of the faithful. Writing about the Divine Mercy St Faustina retains the proper, full of respect distance towards Him , most often naming God the Lord, that is the one who rules over all. The fact that God is the ruler, the king, is so obvious to her that she devotes only some space in her Diary to that aspect, though it pulses in the background of her every utterance concerning God’s Mercy. The analysis of the Diary being a record of St Faustina’s spiritual life permits to draw direct conclusions regarding Christ the King’s position in her spirituality. 1. The Lord God is a very close person to taking pleasure in describing the Mercy of God St Faustina. She feels all-embracing love merged with enormous respect for Him. He is her Bridegroom, and she is His bride. Nevertheless he is also her Lord, Ruler and Creator, and she is nothing but misery alone and His creature. 2. Having defined the range of Jesus the Lord’s royal power, one might ask a question about the consequences of such a fact. Who is St Faustina, or more generally a human being, for whom Christ is the King? What is St Faustina (a human being)’s participation in Christ’s Kingdom? 3. Another issue worth observation are the attributes of the royal authority exposed in the Diary and therefore significant for St Faustina’s spirituality. The conducted analysis allows to state that in St Faustina’s internal life the image of Christ as the King is very expressive and complete. He is shown as the King of the world, the King of heaven, the king of the human heart and soul. His royal authority includes all the adherent attributes, and its consequences for people, as St Faustina describes, lie in belonging as a royal child, and thus a heir having a rightful share in the royal dignity and able to dispose the heritage in order to broaden the Kingdom, to the royal family. What is more, the widening of the Kingdom is the royal child’s duty and not merely a privilege. As for naming Christ with the term of the King of Mercy, the title points out the essence of the royal power in St Faustina’s spirituality and is its characteristic feature.

Isacco di Ninive e uno degli autori meno conosciuti in Occidente. Ma il suo insegnamento e molto importante per la Chiesa d’Oriente. Dopo le traduzioni in lingua russa dei suoi scritti, e stato riconosciuto dagli ortodossi come uno degli autori principali della vita monastica. La sua dottrina spirituale e fondata sul concetto della Misericordia Divina. L’articolo descrive punti principali del concetto della Miseri-cordia Divina sul esempio di uno dei discorsi di Isacco. Non e soltanto una delle dimensioni del Famore divino, ma motore di tutta la oikonomia (sir:) cioe attraverso la Misericordia si puó capire la storia ed entrare in comunione eon Dio. Ma la Misericordia cosi accentuata faceva e fa paura, perche puó provocare difficolta, anzitutto nell’attivita pastorale. Per ąuesto gli scritti di Isacco sono - secondo i monaci - non per i giovani, ma soltanto per i coloro che hanno un certo livello nella vita monastica.

W Archiwum Krakowskiej Kurii Metropolitalnej przechowywane jest prywatne archiwum Marii Winowskiej (1904–1993), wybitnej katolickiej pisarki, działaczki emigracyjnej, przez lata bliskiej współpracownicy prymasa Stefana Wyszyńskiego, autorki m.in. pierwszej biogarfii s. Faustyny Kowalskiej. Wśród dokumentów znajduje się korepondencja z wybitnymi postaciami Kościoła dotycząca kultu Bożego miłosierdzia w formach podanych przez s. Faustynę. Omawiane w artykule listy pochodzą z lat 1958–1975, a ich autorami oprócz Marii Winowskiej są: ks. Michał Sopoćko, abp. Józef Gawlina, abp. Karol Wojtyła, s. Beata Piekut, ks. Julian Chróściechowski. Treść listów pokazuje działania podejmowane przez ich autorów na rzecz wprowadzenia kultu Bożego miłosierdzia do Kościoła, a także różnice między nimi co do sposobów postępowania w sytuacji obowiązywania notyfikacji Świętego Oficjum.
In the Archives of the Krakow Metropolitan Curia, there is a private archive of Maria Winowska (1904–1993). Winiarska was an outstanding Catholic writer, an émigré activist, a long-term collaborator of Primate Stefan Wyszyński, and an author of Sister Faustyna Kowalska’s first biography (among other works). Among the documents collected there is a correspondence with the major figures of the Church concerning the worship of Divine Mercy in the forms proposed by Sister Faustina. The letters discussed in the article were written between 1958–1975. Their authors, apart from Maria Winowska, are: fr Michał Sopoćko, Archbishop Józef Gawlina, Archbishop, Karol Wojtyła, Sr. Beata Piekut and fr Julian Chróściechowski. The content of the letters shows the actions taken by their authors to introduce the cult of Divine Mercy into the Church. Simultaneously, the correspondence shows the differences between the authors as to how to do that in the context of the Holy Office notification being in operation.
