The objective of this study is to investigate the level of understanding of blockchain technology for businesses in the service sector and the level of impact of blockchain technology on business operations in the service sector, with the further aim of recommending readiness planning for the impact of blockchain technology on business operations in the service sector. The outcome of the study revealed that participants perceived the overall level of impact of blockchain technology on business operations in the service sector to be at mid-level. However, almost half of the participants were unsure about the level of impact of blockchain technology on business operations in the service sector. The issue about which most participants were uncertain was if the application of blockchain technology in businesses in the service sector could facilitate their work or coordination with suppliers. 58.40% of participants were unsure about this issue. Furthermore, the outcome of the study showed that understanding blockchain technology influenced the impact of blockchain technology on business operations in the service sector and could forecast 61.4% of the impact. As for readiness planning for the impact of blockchain technology on business operations in the service sector, it can be recommended that operators prepare their personnel and human resources, both in terms of numbers and capacity, to respond to changing trends in the market as well as basic understanding about blockchain technology. Operators should also prepare their business infrastructure by setting up a system to develop blockchain technology for management work within their organizations.
Celem niniejszego opracowania jest zbadanie poziomu zrozumienia technologii blockchain dla przedsiębiorstw w sektorze usług oraz poziomu wpływu technologii blockchain na działalność biznesową w sektorze usług, z dalszym celem rekomendacji planowania gotowości na wpływ technologia blockchain w działalności biznesowej w sektorze usług. Wyniki badania wykazały, że uczestnicy postrzegali ogólny poziom wpływu technologii blockchain na działalność biznesową w sektorze usług jako średni. Jednak prawie połowa uczestników nie była pewna poziomu wpływu technologii blockchain na działalność biznesową w sektorze usług. Kwestią, co do której większość uczestników była niepewna, było to, czy zastosowanie technologii blockchain w firmach z sektora usług może ułatwić im pracę lub koordynację z dostawcami. 58,40% uczestników było niepewnych tego problemu. Ponadto wyniki badania wykazały, że zrozumienie technologii blockchain wpłynęło na wpływ technologii blockchain na działalność biznesową w sektorze usług i może prognozować 61,4% wpływu. Jeśli chodzi o planowanie gotowości na wpływ technologii blockchain na działalność biznesową w sektorze usług, można rekomendować, aby operatorzy przygotowali swój personel i zasoby ludzkie, zarówno pod względem liczebności, jak i zdolności, do reagowania na zmieniające się trendy na rynku, a także podstawowe zrozumienie technologii blockchain. Operatorzy powinni również przygotować swoją infrastrukturę biznesową, tworząc system do rozwijania technologii blockchain do prac zarządczych w ich organizacjach.

Tunisia is a growing economy and in the midst of social, political, economic, technological and epidemiological transition. As a developing economy, Tunisia encounters related concerns in their healthcare sector. Opportunities include the mitigation of risks associated with counterfeit medicines including vaccines (“drugs”). Moreover, significant issues include drug availability and wastage, a fragmented healthcare information system. Overall, these issues are compounded by a lack of collaboration between healthcare stakeholders in setting priorities and moving the sector towards a patient-focused model of healthcare and preventative medicine. Many of these issues may be suited to the adoption of new technologies such as Blockchain and multiple case studies will be outlined within the scope of this paper. The present study aims to address the current issues and challenges pertaining to the healthcare sector in Tunisia and to contextualize the role of new technologies in providing better patient care, improved financial management and improved patient safety.

Aim: Blockchain technology (BCT) is a relatively new technological development, promising strong gains in the areas of product traceability and visibility, end-to-end coordination (E2E), governance, and efficiency of supply chains. The aim of this study is to gain a better understanding of the impact of BCT on these performance measures. Design / Research methods: Hypotheses were tested with survey data from 119 supply chain professionals from Northern American SMEs. Conclusions / findings: The results confirm the positive impacts of BCT on all performance measures. E2E coordination is the integration of information, goods, and money within an organisation or supply chain. E2E coordination appeared to benefit from the use of BCT, enabling information sharing in a safe way. The findings suggest that BCT use fosters E2E coordination, which in its turn also positively affects financial performance. Originality / value of the article: Despite the increasing interest in and use of, BCT, there is little empirical evidence for the effect on supply chain performance. Many studies are anecdotal and lack empirical evidence. Implications of the research (if applicable): Companies should acknowledge the impact of BCT use on the various supply chain performance measures. Implementing and using BCT is likely to foster improvement in a wide range of performance indicators.   Limitations of the research  (if applicable): Companies use different types, versions, varieties, and forks of blockchain, all having their own strong and weak points. Future studies could investigate and include the nuances within different forks of BCT.

The article presents the issues covering the modern methods of securing data in both manufacturing processes and companies within the concept of Industry 4.0. In this approach, research problems arose how to implement the right method of secure data sending in sales, manufacturing and distribution processes. It is a very important issue for manufacturing companies as well as how the process of sending electronic data should be safely conducted. While current researches concentrated on the method of blockchain secured electronic documents, there is almost no research concentrating on blockchain integrator selection criteria. The main purpose of this paper is to provide a decision assistance model based on multiple criteria decision analysis technique. Also, mutual relationships between parameters for the assessment of integrators are established. In the article, a Multi-Criteria Decision Analysis (MCDA) was used to assess these characteristics. The Decision Making Trial and Evaluation Laboratory (DEMATEL) technique was chosen for this assessment.

The purpose of the article is to determine the importance of blockchain technology in food supply chain management. A practical reference to the adopted research aim was to indicate the usefulness of blockchain technology to build trust between food chain stakeholders. Research shows that the properties of blockchain technology can enable it to solve many problems and shortcomings of the current food production system. Its added value is primarily a significant increase in transparency of operations among all stakeholders using big data in all parts of the food chain.
Celem tego artykułu jest określenie znaczenia technologii blockchain w zarządzaniu łańcuchem dostaw żywności. Praktycznym odniesieniem do przyjętego celu badawczego było wskazanie przydatności technologii blockchain do budowania zaufania między interesariuszami łańcucha żywnościowego. Jej wartością dodaną jest przede wszystkim znaczny wzrost przejrzystości operacji wśród wszystkich zainteresowanych stron korzystających z dużych zbiorów danych we wszystkich częściach łańcucha żywnościowego.

Modern technologies have been revolutionizing industries for years, providing competitive advantages to companies. As a technology based on decentralization, Blockchain becomes a tool to support and secure processes and transactions in industries such as mining and power engineering. It also supports supply chain processes, which are particularly important in today's mining business. The use of advanced cryptography methods results in increased cyber security in entities that implement such solutions. The use of Blockchain technology carries a strong message, both to competitors and customers, about intensifying work on authentication and process traceability. This publication focuses on defining the trust gap problem in the mining industry and on examples of the use of technology in data traceability processes. The mining industry is beginning to use technologies which had been previously available only in the theoretical realm. The ongoing development towards a smart industry entails a number of studies and expert assessments, aimed to integrate knowledge from the mining and IT areas. The combination of these research areas leads to an increase in the value of both the companies implementing modern technologies and traditional companies that implement such applications in their value chain. Based on the analyzed articles, two main areas of consideration in the context of the extractive industry were distinguished: systems that track and secure the flow of data in specific mining processes and systems that monitor and secure information on processes which support the raw materials supply chain.
Nowoczesne technologie od lat rewolucjonizują przemysł i stanowią o przewadze konkurencyjnej przedsiębiorstw. Blockchain jako technologia oparta na decentralizacji staje się narzędziem wspomagającym oraz zabezpieczającym procesy i transakcje w takich gałęziach przemysłu jak górnictwo oraz energetyka. Wspomaga również procesy związane z łańcuchami dostaw, szczególnie ważnymi w dzisiejszym biznesie wydobywczym. Wykorzystanie metod zaawansowanej kryptografii skutkuje zwiększeniem cyberbezpieczeństwa podmiotów, które takie rozwiązania wdrażają. Zastosowanie technologii Blockchain wiąże się z mocnym przekazem, zarówno dla konkurencji jak i klientów, dotyczącym intensyfikacji prac nad autentykacją oraz identyfikowalnością procesów. W niniejszej publikacji skupiono się na zdefiniowaniu problemu luki zaufania w przemyśle górniczym oraz przykładach wykorzystania technologii w procesach śledzenia pochodzenia danych. Branża wydobywcza zaczyna wykorzystywać technologie dostępne do tej pory tylko w obszarze teoretycznym. Bieżący rozwój w kierunku przemysłu inteligentnego niesie za sobą szereg badań i ekspertyz, które mają na celu integrację wiedzy z obszarów górnictwa oraz informatyzacji. Połączenie wspomnianych obszarów badawczych prowadzi do wzrostu wartości przedsiębiorstw zarówno wdrażających nowoczesne technologie jak i firm tradycyjnych, które takie zastosowania implementują do swojego łańcucha wartości. Bazując na analizowanych artykułach wyróżniono dwa główne obszary rozważań w kontekście branży wydobywczej: systemy śledzące oraz zabezpieczające przepływ danych w określonych procesach górniczych oraz systemy monitorujące oraz zabezpieczające informacje dotyczące procesów wspierających łańcuch dostaw.

Patients, and in general, citizens, are anxious when it comes to sharing their social and health data. They do not trust governments, payers, hospitals or general practitioners when it comes to the exchange and recording of their data. They need to be assured of their privacy. A review of potential applications of the blockchain technology as a novel approach to secure health data storage, existing implementation obstacles, and a plan for transitioning incrementally from current technology to a blockchain solution is presented.
Pacjenci i ogólnie obywatele są zaniepokojeni możliwością udostępniania swoich danych społecznych i zdrowotnych. W pracy przedstawiono przegląd potencjalnych zastosowań technologii blockchain - nowego podejścia do zapewnienia bezpieczeństwa przechowywania danych zdrowotnych, przeszkód w jego wdrożeniu oraz plan stopniowego przechodzenia do tych rozwiązań.

Rynek kryptowalut już od czasu swojego powstania budził wiele kontrowersji oraz obaw związanych z zagrożeniami, które stwarza obrót walutą wirtualną. Gwałtowny wzrost wartości Bitcoina w 2017 roku, miał wpływ na znaczny wzrost zainteresowania inwestorów, instytucji oraz podmiotów związanych z rynkami finansowymi, które nie dotyczyło jedynie chęci wzbogacenia się. Technologia blockchain oraz bazujący na niej rynek kryptowalut, umożliwiają rozwój technologii, szybki i bezpieczny przepływ kapitału oraz mają wiele innych zastosowań, które w przyszłości mogą doprowadzić do rewolucyjnych zmian i odkryć. Jednakże należy również pamiętać, że rynek waluty wirtualnej stwarza warunki dla szeroko rozumianej działalności przestępczej i terrorystycznej, będących zagrożeniem dla funkcjonowania całego systemu polityczno-gospodarczego. Kluczowym elementem dla zapewnienia pełnej wydajności rynkowej i wykorzystania całego zakresu możliwości rozwoju, przy zachowaniu bezpieczeństwa istniejących na nim podmiotów, jest kreowanie budujących rynek właściwych uwarunkowań instytucjonalnych. Umożliwią one zachowanie równowagi między poziomem ingerencji w system finansowy związanej z wprowadzeniem regulacji dotyczących waluty wirtualnej a swobodnym rozwojem rynku i możliwościami, które za sobą niesie.
Since its inception, the cryptocurrency, a lot of controversy and concerns related to the threats posed by trading in virtual currency has aroused. The sharp increase in the value of bitcoin in 2017 had an impact on a significant increase in the interest of investors, institutions and entities related to financial markets, which was not only related to the desire to get rich. Blockchain technology and the cryptocurrency market based on, it enable the development of technology, fast and safe capital flow and have many other applications that may lead to revolutionary changes and discoveries in the future. However, it should also be remembered that the virtual currency market creates conditions for broadly understood criminal and terrorist activities, which pose a threat to the functioning of the entire political and economic system. The key element to ensure full market efficiency and use of the entire range of development opportunities, while maintaining the security of the entities existing in it, is the creation of appropriate institutional conditions that build the market. They will make it possible to maintain a balance between the level of interference in the financial system related to the introduction of virtual currency regulations and the free development of the market and the opportunities it brings.

Despite a relatively short period that elapsed since the development of the blockchain or Distributed Ledger technology (DLT), it has been put to multiple uses by multinational corporations, central banks, governments and individuals. In this paper, cryptocurrencies are analysed as investment instruments. The study aims to verify whether they can be classified as an asset class and what kind of benefits they may bring to the investor’s portfolio. We used 6 indices as proxies for the major asset classes, including the cryptocurrency index CRIX, for all cryptographic assets. Cryptocurrencies relatively fully satisfied 7 asset class requirements, namely stable aggregation, investability, internal homogeneity, external heterogeneity, expected utility, selection skill and cost-effective access. It was found that crypto assets have diversification properties. Portfolio optimisation with the Modern Portfolio Theory showed an increase in the Sharpe ratio of tangency portfolios with the inclusion of CRIX. Background: Supply chain sustainability is a central concern of most organizations. The main objective of sustainable supply chains is to create and maintain long term economic, social, and environmental value for all stakeholders involved in delivering products and services to markets. As sustainability constitutes one of the critical drivers of innovation, the recent emergence of blockchain technology typifies the disruptive impact of digital innovation on supply chain sustainability. Blockchain is a foundational technology that poses a shift in the development of supply chain sustainability. Methods: Despite the increasing importance of blockchain in improving supply chain efficiencies and bringing societal changes, research investigating its potentialities from the lens of sustainability is scarce. Therefore, the primary goal of this paper is to fill this knowledge gap and synthesize the literature from leading journals on the topic of blockchain and its relation to supply chain sustainability. Papers were collected from different scientific databases and carefully analyzed. The possibilities of blockchains are identified and classified according to the triple bottom line framework, namely the economic, social, and environmental dimensions of sustainability. Results and conclusions: The majority of studies focused on the economic implications of blockchains on supply chains. The sustainable economic aspects of the technology identified in the reviewed literature are mostly the transformational potentials of blockchains and their capabilities to drive new disintermediated business models, higher operational efficiencies, cost advantages, and additional sources of value creation. The social empowerment of supply chains is found through the ability of blockchain to create trustful relationships among supply chain partners, increase food safety, support humanitarian logistics, and promote social equity. Moreover, firms attempting to move forward in their environmental policies and strategies can use blockchain to extend their efforts to improve their environmental practices across the supply chain, reduce the strain on energy and natural resources, and offer environmentally friendly products.
Wstęp: Zrównoważoność łańcucha dostaw leży w centrum zainteresowania większości organizacji. Głównym celem zrównoważonych łańcuchów dostaw jest stworzenie i utrzymanie długoterminowych ekonomicznych, socjalnych i ekologicznych zysków dla wszystkich akcjonariuszy w trakcie dostaw produktów i usług na rynek. Rozwój zrównoważony wydaje się być jednym z krytycznych czynników innowacyjności, ostatnio pojawiające się technologie blockchain mają istotny wpływ na zrównoważoność łańcuchów dostaw. Blockchain jest technologią, która może istotnie przyczynić się do rozwoju zrównoważonego łańcucha dostaw. Metody: Pomimo rosnącego zainteresowania znaczenie blockchainu dla poprawy efektywności łańcuchów dostaw, istnieje bardzo mało badań i publikacji na ten temat. Dlatego ten celem tej pracy było wypełnienie istniejącej luki i stworzeni syntezy literatury naukowej na blockchain oraz jego relacji ze zrównoważonym łańcuchem dostaw. Prace badawcze były uzyskane z różnych baz publikacyjnych i poddane wnikliwej analizie. Możliwości wynikające ze stosowania blockchain zostały zidentyfikowane i sklasyfikowane w odniesienie do wymiaru ekonomicznego, socjalnego, środowiskowego oraz rozwoju zrównoważonego. Wyniki i wnioski: Większość prac badawczych skupia się na ekonomicznych wpływach blockchainu na łańcuch dostaw. Zrównoważone ekonomiczne aspekty technologii zidentyfikowane w badanej literaturze głównie dotyczą możliwości transformacji przez blockchain oraz możliwości zmiany modelu biznesowego, zwiększenie efektywności operacyjne, korzyści kosztowych oraz dodatkowych źródeł finansowania. Zalety socjalne łańcuchów dostaw są widziane głównie w możliwości stworzenie zaufanych relacji między partnerami biznesowymi, wzroście bezpieczeństwa żywności, wspomożeniu logistyki humanitarnej oraz promocji równości socjalnej. Jednocześnie firmy starają się zmienić swoją politykę środowiskową używając blockchainu dla zwiększenie swoich praktyk ekologicznych w obrębie łańcuchów dostaw, redukcję zużycia energii i zasobów naturalnych oraz wprowadzenie produktów przyjaznych środowisku.

The author analyses the legislation of different countries, analytical studies of international experts in order to determine trends in the legal regulation of blockchain. Regulations of government banks, regulatory organizations regarding the operation of the virtual assets and growing demand for virtual currency leads to high risks in the area crypto actives. Uncertainty and complexity of legal support for the development of blockchain technologies and artificial intelligence in economic activity leads to limited practice of regulatory definition and government processes. However, state order is to sanction the stabile existing social relations from considering international legal institutions of legal regulation, such as the protection of personal data, identification and verification subjects of entrepreneurial activity, prevention of laundering money, prevention of evasion from payment of taxes. The author draws attention to the fact that it is necessary to concentrate analyses on resolving not only virtual currency, but the system blockchain in general, to provide legal definition of those phenomena which are not associated with just speculation or payments of cryptocurrency. In the article discusses current problems of the EU, Asia, Ukraine on implementation of international standards in the field of prevention of laundering of money, protection of per sonal data and the possibility of crypto actives and use the technology of artificial intelligence, which will develop business operations, including technology blockchain.
