Opis:
Rhizosphere is a region of the strongest interactions be- tween plants, soil and microorganisms, which play an important role in plant development. Due to a number of interdependencies, they are main factors determining the health and proper growth of plants. All methods used in agriculture that promote the growth of microbial populations and their biodiversity are beneficial both for cultivated plants and for the environment. Thuja occidentalis cv. Brabant, is a very popular plant in Poland. In the study the effect of mineral fertilizers: Urea, Polifoska 6, Super Fos Dar 40, enriched with beneficial strains of fungi and bacteria, on selected groups of soil microorganisms was evaluated. The fungi Asper- gillus niger and Purpureocillium lilacinum and bacteria Bacillus sp., Bacillus amyloliquefaciens, Paenibacillus polymyxa, which have been shown to have beneficial effects on plant growth in previous works, have been used as additives to bio-fertilizers. The use of mineral fertilizers Urea, Polifoska 6 and Super Fos Dar 40, enriched with selected strains of fungi and bacteria had a beneficial effect on the development of microorganisms in the rhizosphere of the Thuja occidentalis, especially in the second year of research.

Opis:
Effects of heavy metals on plants result in growth inhibition, structure damage, a decline of physiological and biochemical activities as well as of the function of plants. The effects and bioavailability of heavy metals depend on many factors, such as environmental conditions, pH, and species of element, organic substances of the media and fertilization, plant species. But, there are also studies on plant resistance mechanisms to protect plants against the toxic effects of heavy metals. The microorganisms act in synergism with the plants for effective phytoremediation. This synergistic relationship promotes the exchange of water and nutrients established between plant roots and specialized soil microorganisms thus, enhancing the plant growth. The application of microorganisms in phytoremediation helps to improve plant growth and survival rate. The microbial activity in the contaminated site acts as an indicator for the plant growth and bioremediation. So an attempt were made on the toxic effects of chromium in paddy plants growth and yield and thereby mitigating its toxicity by using microbial inoculants especially Azospirillum.

Opis:
W niniejszej pracy przedstawiono rodzaje i przykłady środków biologicznych i biotechnicznych, wykorzystywanych w produkcji roślinnej.
This study presents types and examples of biological and biotechnical products used in plant production. As the analyses show, there is a number of national and international biopesticides and biofertilizers on the Polish market, which can be an alternative or a supplement for traditional agrochemicals, that is pesticides and mineral fertilizers. When it comes to research studies conducted so far there is no clarity regarding positive effect of using some biofertilizers in agricultural production.

Opis:
Phytate-mineralizing bacteria (PMB) with plant growth-promoting activity can be considered as a potential biofertilizer for plant nutrition. PMB catalyzes the conversion of insoluble sugar phosphates, inositols, nucleic acids, phospholipids, nucleotides, phytate, and phytin into soluble forms that can be assimilated by plants. The present study aimed to isolate potential PMB from rhizospheric soils and to study their plant growth-promoting potential for the possible development of a potential phosphobacterium biofertilizer. For this purpose, 34 PMB isolates were isolated that showed potent phytate-mineralizing potential. These isolates were tested for their potential to solubilize tricalcium phosphate (TCP) and for various other plant growth-promoting activities. Significant differences were found among the isolates with regard to phytate mineralization and other plant growth-promoting characteristics. The bacterial isolates biochemically identified as Bacillus, Paenibacillus, Arthrobacter, and Burkholderia exhibited high/medium P solubilization, medium/high phytohormone production, and medium/low siderophore and ammonia production. Among all these isolates, isolate A14 (Burkholderia cenocepacia strain FDAARGOS_7) was the promising isolate with high TCP solubilization, medium phytate mineralization, high enzyme production, medium/high phytohormone production, and medium ammonia production. This strain also showed nitrogen fixation activity, zinc solubilizing potential, potassium solubilization, ACC deaminase production, and catalase production. Hence, it can be concluded that B. cenocepacia can be the potential candidate for biofertilizer development. Future studies are planned for exploring the role of PMB in biofertilizer formulations.
