Opis:
Migrations are one of the main parts of demographic research and also valuable source of knowledge about society. The article analyzes process of permanent migration in the agglomeration of Bielsko-Biała – one of the main elements of the settlement system in Silesia province. In article was used statistical data from Central Statistical Office in Warsaw. The aim of this article is to identify the changes in migration processes and their impact on the demographic development of the region. Authors presents also the main directions and the scale of population migration. The delimitation of the area for this study was taken the same as R. Krzysztofik (2008), and includes the town of Bielsko-Biala and the surrounding district of Bielsko.
Migracje ludności stanowią jeden z głównych elementów badań demograficznych i są cennym źródłem wiedzy o społeczeństwie. W opracowaniu dokonano analizy skali zjawiska migracji stałych na obszarze aglomeracji bielskiej – jednego z głównych elementów systemu osadniczego województwa śląskiego. W artykule posłużono się danymi statystycznymi Głównego Urzędu Statystycznego. Celem artykułu jest wskazanie zachodzących zmian w zakresie ruchu migracyjnego oraz ich wpływu na rozwój demograficzny regionu. Przedstawiono główne kierunki oraz skalę migracji ludności na pobyt stały. Na potrzeby niniejszego opracowania delimitacja obszaru została przyjęta za R. Krzysztofikiem (2008) i obejmuje miasto Bielsko-Biała oraz otaczający je powiat bielski.

The collective work, published in 2020, the theme of which is the culture of Bielsko-Biała documents the rich history of the 1wo-city. The city is analyzed on many levels by art historians, literary scholars and linguists. The publication restores the city`s memory related to the heritage of German and Jewish citizens, erased during the building of the Polish People’s Republic (the communist regime). The rediscovery of forgotten stories, symbols, and many other cultural artifacts is reminiscent of a palimpsest on which the experiences of subsequent generations have been overwritten. Getting to the original text is painstaking work that has been successfully undertaken and completed by the editors and authors of the individual chapters.

In the process of globalization, which is directly connected with scientific and technological progress, human capital receives special significance. Education, especially higher education, has the most important meaning as a factor leading to the improvement of the intellectual potential of societies. Educated, entrepreneurial society, which can easier be found in the new reality, is the foundation of the functioning of the global economy and raising the competitiveness of individual regions and countries The article discusses the functioning of the Bielsko-Biala academic center in the conditions of the globalization. It presents changes in the educational potential of the center in the years 1969-2009. Particular attention was paid to changes in the educational structure of the Bielsko- Biala academic center and its adaptation to the conditions of modern economy. In addition, the range of influence of the Bielsko-Biala academic center was defined based on the permanent residence of the students in the academic year 2008/2009 The results of this study assess the impact of globalization on the functioning of the academic centers, as well as the role of the Bielsko-Biala academic center in the development of human capital in local conditions

Opis:
The author paid attention to the medieval part of Bielsko-Biała City, which for decades had been practically neglected and abandoned. The constantly growing problems of technical, economic and social degradation of this area were analysed. In the mid-1990s attempts were made to regenerate the city historic core and to restore its proper position and rank, which it should occupy in the minds of locals and tourists. Presenter in the paper are infrastructural, social and economic changes, which took place within this area as a result of the revitalisation process. The objectives of this process have been highlighted, as well as the renovation of buildings. Social problems affecting the residents have been indicated and completed projects improving their situation have also been discussed. The changes of the service function occurring thanks to the process of revitalisation have been described. The growth of the number of service units showed a positive effect of the regeneration, improving the economic situation of the discussed area. The pace of changes is intense. Every year the number of economic entities increases and most of them are located in the buildings and quarters subjected to renovation. Nevertheless, part of this activity is observed out of Bielsko’s Old Town, being replaced by the catering and entertainment services.

In this paper, the problem of entering the labour market by young people, in particular graduates, will be discussed. Obstacles and problems relating to the transition from education to career will be presented. Using the Central Statistical Office (GUS) data concerning Poland, the Silesian Voivodeship and the city of Bielsko-Biała, an attempt will be made to give an insight into the notion of unemployment itself. The author has also explored the concept of unemployment, which is presented on the basis of the data obtained from the Central Statistical Office on Polish, Silesian province and the city of Bielsko-Biała. The main objective of this work is to present the concept and the level of unemployment in the city of Bielsko-Biała by comparing the situation in the Silesian Voivodeship with the whole country. Apart from that, the feasible assistance of state-run institutions, including job centres, will be showed as well as the present legal aspects of the problem. The methods used in this paper include statistical devices pertaining to the unemployment in Poland. The theory being substantiated is that those poorly educated are the high-risk group in the context of becoming unemployed.
