The aim of the paper is to explain the cooperation and processes realized within the industrial networks based on the principles of industrial symbiosis in Denmark, Russia and Slovakia. The identified examples can be characterized as best practices in the field of industrial symbiosis that influences importantly the development of regions, where they are localized. Industrial symbiosis as a voluntary cooperation of enterprises with the aim to optimize production costs and improve the environment could influence positively the development of areas where the companies are operating. The paper includes three examples of ‘best practices’ from Denmark, Russia and Slovakia. The examples refer the wide range of benefits that this kind of cooperation brings.

Opis:
Finland is at the top in different rankings concerning education. In March 2018 the author of the article had a chance to participate in "Benchmarking Finnish Education System" course in Helsinki and observe and analyze Finnish best practices. In the article, the author tries to describe what she discovered about the educational success of Finnish school and answered the question whether it is possible to apply these elements to Polish educational reality. Writing the article, the author used the materials distributed during the course, either by the organizer or his guests. While quoting statistics, the author mainly referred to online sources, as they are usually regularly updated. The conclusions drawn are the results of the author's observations, as well as the analysis of the reference sources. The author discovered that the critical factors in Finnish educational success are: student and teacher's autonomy, free access to education, equality, no dead ends, and tailor-made school curricula. In the final part of the article, the author writes about the weaknesses of the Finnish system. In conclusion, the author wonders whether it is possible to integrate Finnish best practices into Polish schools.

The article presents reflections on the best practices in real estate cross border transactions.Transactions on real estate markets have several aspects that make them highly complex, mostly due to their individual nature – each property is unique in terms of its location, structure and history. Cross-border transactions on the real estate market are becoming increasingly popular as the world becomes more globalized. The growing volume of this type of transaction presents a challenge for the modern real estate lawyer. It is impossible to create an exhaustive guide setting out all the hazards occurring in such transactions. This article addresses this difficult challenge by indicating the most important of them.It is essential and extremely helpful to enter into cooperation with a local counsel who will help us to explain the local specificity and who will take the legal differences into account. In addition, other helpful tools, such as a legal due diligence report or a title insurance Policy, should be carefully considered. One cannot forget about the importance of the local culture and customs, which may prove decisive at the crucial moment of the transaction. Finally, to be effective in working with cross-border clients, lawyers must have a good understanding of how people think and make decisions, and must possess good people skills. Respect for local customs and traditions, as well as understanding the local legal system while securing clients’ interests, is the key to a successful transaction.

Opis:
Credibility and reliability of counter-partners are the most important features required for the efficient functioning of financial markets. Violating these requirements is an important aspect of the operational risk, posed by the human factor – both internal (managers, employees) and external (customers, shareholders, competitors, supervisors). Therefore, having a limited impact on the behaviour of outside persons, the financial institutions formulate high standards towards their own personnel. It concerns formal qualifications and professional experience, as well as specific personality traits and appropriate behaviour in various situations. These standards are specified in numerous recent ethics codes – documents formulating the socalled ‘corporate governance best practices’ in internal and external relations to other people. The aim of this paper is to draw attention to the fact that some of these standards generate in praxis a number of dilemmas or even conflict situations, when there appears a question of to what extent the application of a given rule does not breach other rules. Theoretically, corporate governance practices should be internally consistent. However, everyday experience brings such a multitude of real situations, diverse human characters or individual reactions that there appears a need for a sensible compromise between values of equal importance which, in some cases, prove contradicting.

Biomasa stanowi pierwsze co do wielkości wykorzystania źródło energii odnawialnej w Polsce. Stosowana jest najczęściej jako paliwo stałe w dużych elektrociepłowniach, ale jej wykorzystanie na poziomie lokalnym jest ciągle niewielkie. Spalanie lokalnie dostępnej biomasy do celów energetycznych umożliwia zaspokojenie zapotrzebowania małych społeczności na ciepło i uniezależnienie się ich od dostaw paliw kopalnych takich jak węgiel czy olej opałowy. Jedną z najkorzystniejszych opcji zabezpieczenia dostaw energii i uniezależnienia się od zewnętrznych dostawców jest obsługa własnej sieci ciepłowniczej. W artykule przedstawiono przykłady zrealizowanych z sukcesem inwestycji polegających na budowie lokalnych systemów ciepłowniczych opartych na biomasie. Prezentowane przykłady dobrych praktyk mogą służyć jako inspiracja do podjęcia działań w kierunku tworzenia lokalnych sieci ciepłowniczych wykorzystujących dostępne na danym terenie zasoby biomasy.
Biomass is the most commonly used renewable energy source in Poland. It is mainly utilized as solid fuel in large power or CHP plants, but its use at the local level is still low. Incineration of biomass that is locally available for energy purposes allows to meet the demand of small communities for heat and increase their independence from supplies of fossil fuels such as coal or fuel oil. One of the most beneficial options for supplying energy and gaining independence from fuel import is the operation of district heating network. The article presents examples of successfully completed investments involving construction of local heating systems based on biomass. Presented examples of good practice can serve as inspiration to take action towards creating district heating networks that use locally available biomass resources.

According to the OECD, the city of Malmö is ranked on the fourth position globally in patent applications per 10,000 inhabitants. Presenting this ranking list, Forbes magazine described Malmö as young and diverse. The two other largest Swedish cities, Stockholm and Gothenburg, also scored high – on the 8th and 12th places, respectively. Regarding the presented facts the main aim of the article is to describe both Polish and Swedish systems of supporting new business, crucial from the innovation-creation perspective. These two countries were chosen basing on the fact, that Sweden is one of the most innovative countries globally and it’s start-up supporting system could be an inspiring benchmark for Poland, which is a maternity country for the authoress. Both parts are based on the authoress’ observations as well as direct talks with entrepreneurs and start-up supporting organizations. As an added value of this comparison, the concluding part of the article presents a list of best practices and suggestions for Polish start-ups.

Industry 4.0 promises to make manufacturing processes more efficient using modern technologies like cyber-physical systems, internet of things, cloud computing and big data analytics. Lean Management (LM) is one of the most widely applied business strategies in recent decades. Thus, implementing Industry 4.0 mostly means integrating technologies in companies that already operate according to LM. However, due to the novelty of the topic, research on how LM and Industry 4.0 can be integrated is still under development. This paper explores the synergic relationship between these two domains by identifying six examples of real cases that address LM-Industry 4.0 integration in the extant literature. The goal is to make explicit the best practices that are being implemented by six distinct industrial sectors such as automotive, paper, furniture, healthcare, apparel, and machine manufacturing.

The aim of this research was to determine the influences of meteorological and hydrogeological factors on the water level of a rainwater storage and infiltration reservoir. The examined reservoir is located in the urban and industrial area of Krakow, on ground owned by the Polish State Railways (PKP), Kraków-Bieżanów branch. We analyzed a range of climatic (precipitation and evaporation) and hydrological factors (water stage in the reservoir and groundwater level) and their inter-relationships to determine their influences on the water depth regime in the storage and infiltration reservoir. Based on our results, the increase in the water table level in the reservoir is connected with the increase in the groundwater level and it is observed in the spring and summer periods, when meltwater and stormwater enter the reservoir. At the end of July, the groundwater table level increases because of excessive rainfall events. Throughout the entire experimental period, the reservoir was fed by infiltering groundwater from the upper parts of the basin. The water depth averages in the reservoir were closely correlated with the average groundwater table levels, the sum of precipitation from the week prior to the date of the examination of water depth in the reservoir, and the sum of potential evaporation in the given week.

City logistics and mass sporting events logistics are modern concepts using good practices to achieve established aims. Both issues are connected by the set of common features, which allow using the best practices modifying the processes of city management or mass event management. The aim of this article is to analyze city logistics from the angle of best practices possibilities – solutions applied by the organization of mass sporting events. The object of the study represents a system of city logistics and logistics system of sporting events, while used research methods were: the analyzes of literature, critical analysis of documents prepared by companies responsibilities for the preparation of events and own observations. Common points and examples of good practices of city logistics presented in table 1 and 2 confirm a hypothesis about a correlation between concepts. Using solutions which are commonly innovative in city management can significantly contribute to the facilitation of goods, persons and information flows and to decrease the negative impact of human activity on natural environmet.

Zarządzanie jakością na uczelniach w Polsce sprowadzane jest często jedynie do zapewniania jakości kształcenia. Jest to zbyt wąskie, zdaniem autora, traktowanie jakości w jednostkach szkolnictwa wyższego. Problemem szkolnictwa wyższego, oprócz odpowiedniego zdefiniowania pojęcia jakości, jest również sprowadzanie działań akredytacyjnych, których intencją jest m.in. doradzanie uczelniom z zakresu zarządzania jakością, wyłącz‑ nie do działań kontrolnych. Przykłady uczelni zagranicznych Pompeu Fabra University w Hiszpanii i Glasgow Caledonian University w Szkocji pokazują, że zarządzanie jakością może generować duże korzyści dla uczelni.
Quality management in universities is often perceived in Poland as a determinant of quality of education. According to the author, it is too narrow approach. The next challenge of quality management in Polish higher education institutions is the problem with accreditation of activities, which is closely identified with control. Examples of foreign universities: Pompeu Fabra University in Spain and Glasgow Caledonian University in Scotland show that quality management can generate large benefits for universities.

Celem artykułu jest analiza dobrych praktyk w zakresie rozwoju transportu wodnego śródlądowego oraz działań służących wzmocnieniu pozycji konkurencyjnej tej gałęzi transportu na rynku usług transportowych Unii Europejskiej. Istniejące przykłady dobrych praktyk są związane z rozwojem inteligentnych systemów transportowych, wdrażaniem finansowych instrumentów wsparcia transportu wodnego śródlądowego, rozwojem transportu intermodalnego oraz zmniejszeniem kosztów zewnętrznych transportu. Doświadczenia krajów europejskich w zakresie funkcjonowania i rozwoju żeglugi śródlądowej mogą stanowić cenną pomoc przy opracowywaniu i wdrażaniu rozwiązań modelowych w poszczególnych krajach członkowskich.
In the European Union can be found examples of good practice in the development of inland waterway transport and measures to strengthen the competitive position of this mode of transport in the transport market. They are related to the development of intelligent transport systems, the implementation of financial support mechanisms, the development of intermodal transport and the reduction of external costs of transport. The experience of European countries in the functioning and development of the inland waterway transport can be a valuable help in developing and implementing model solutions for individual Member States.

This article describes the experiences with the initiative to introduce IPv6 into Capgemini's datacenter environment, and to be more specific, the part of the project known as Phase 1: the preparation before actually doing so. Phase 1 comprises of training, testing and research of the IPv6 protocol and its features with the purpose to better understandthe consequences of the introduction of IPv6 in a datacenter environment. It was a specific choice to not deploy IPv6 in a production environment, and to build a dedicated test environment first (Proof of Concept). This test environment would accommodate most basic features of IPv6 to safely prepare us for the actual deployment. The technical results of the IPv6 experience were documented in a structured way, useable for future reference. Test results were also used as input to develop Capgemini best practices for IPv6 deployment.

Purpose: reasons for writing the paper is to present and explained implemented on board seaging vessels energy efficiency management and give an answer to question how SEEMPs are implemented and applied in day to day operation. Design/methodology/approach: an analysis of various shipping companies and ships Ship Energy Efficiency Management Plans. Findings: found that application of SEEMP are varied between shipping companies and is not very well known on board vessels. Research limitations/implications: SEEMP to be clearly explained to ships crew for better understanding and application in day to day operation. Practical implications: suggestion to Shipping Management Companies to simplify SEEMPs. Social implications: reduction of GHG emission. Originality/value: implementation of best practices to improve EEOI.

Na przestrzeni rozwoju nauk o zarządzaniu powstała ogromna liczba metod i narzędzi rozwiązywania problemów z dziedziny organizacji i zarządzania, nazywanych dobrymi praktykami. W artykule przedstawiono próbę systematyki dobrych praktyk, możliwych do wykorzystania w działaniach podejmowanych przez jednostki terytorialne w ramach zarządzania kryzysowego. Autorki zidentyfikowały kluczowe grupy dobrych praktyk wspomagających proces zarządzania ryzykiem, zaproponowały ich systematykę, a następnie przyporządkowały poszczególne grupy praktyk do szczegółowych etapów procesu zarządzania ryzykiem.
Within the development of management sciences, a great number of methods and tools for solving problems in the field of organization and management have been developed, which called good practices. The article presents an attempt to make a classificati on of good practices that can be used in actions undertaken by territorial units in crisis management. Authors identified key groups of good practice to support the risk management process, proposed their systematics and then assigned the various groups of practices to the detailed stages of the risk management process.

W artykule przedstawiono założenia modelu dojrzałości organizacji dedykowanego dla obszaru publicznego zarządzania kryzysowego. Autorki przybliżyły koncepcję modeli dojrzałości, jak również opisały najważniejsze jego elementy. W ramach opracowania określono również strukturę modelu, zidentyfikowano kluczowe obszary procesowe oraz zestaw praktyk ogólnych i specyficznych, na podstawie których należy dokonać oceny dojrzałości.
The article presents the assumptions of the maturity model of an organization dedicated to the area of public crisis management. The authors explain the concept of maturity models, as well as describing the most important elements. The study also identifies the structure of the model, the key process areas and a set of general and specific practices, which are the basis to assess the maturity.

Premise. The essay will report on actions promoted at international and national level, to ensure accessibility in different sectors of social life and reduce obstacles in this field in European regulations and in the practices of Member States. The Convention adopted by UNO in 2006, stating that people with different abilities must enjoy fundamental rights and (political, economic, social, cultural) freedoms, constitutes the first great treaty of the twenty-first century concerning the change in attitude and strategies towards people bearing handicaps, to increase respect of their dignity through every possible measure. Intercultural dialogue. In light of a greater awareness on environmental issues and possible solutions, we are, therefore, all called upon to contribute to changes in the relation with our one and only Planet in order to build a new conservation ethics, which may include the values of Cultural Heritage and accept, for its protection and enhancement, the contribution of Communities, favouring intercultural dialogue. Best practices. The essay intends to stress the importance of integrated policies in promoting accessibility and the enhancement of cultural heritage, also through the examination of the best practices implemented in different European Countries. Specifically, it shall highlight how one of the criteria informing the Management Plan of the ‘Archaeological Area of Pompeii and Torre del Greco’ is based on the conservation of the archaeological heritage, with the purpose of making it accessible to the public while conserving the testimonial, formal and material features of the site, and addressing conservation issues as well as the design quality of accessibility improvements.
Założenia. Artykuł informuje o działaniach promowanych na poziomie międzynarodowym i krajowym, w celu zapewnienia dostępności w różnych sektorach życia społecznego i zmniejszenia przeszkód w tej dziedzinie w regulacjach europejskich i w praktyce państw członkowskich. Konwencja przyjęta przez ONZ w 2006 roku, stwierdzająca, że osoby o różnych zdolnościach muszą mieć możliwość korzystania z podstawowych praw (politycznych, gospodarczych, społecznych, kulturalnych) i wolności, stanowi pierwszy wielki traktat XXI wieku dotyczący zmiany postawy i strategii wobec osób z upośledzeniami, w celu zwiększenia poszanowania ich godności za pomocą wszelkich możliwych środków. Dialog międzykulturowy. W świetle większej świadomości na temat kwestii środowiskowych i możliwych rozwiązań, jesteśmy zatem wszyscy wezwani do przyczynienia się do zmian w relacji z naszą jedyną i niepowtarzalną Planetą w celu zbudowania nowej etyki konserwatorskiej, która może obejmować wartości Dziedzictwa Kulturowego i akceptować, dla jego ochrony i wzmocnienia, wkład Wspólnot, sprzyjając dialogowi międzykulturowemu. Najlepsze praktyki. Artykuł ma na celu podkreślenie znaczenia zintegrowanych polityk w promowaniu dostępności i wzbogacaniu dziedzictwa kulturowego, również poprzez badanie najlepszych praktyk wdrożonych w różnych krajach europejskich. W szczególności podkreślone zostanie, w jaki sposób jedno z kryteriów informujących o Planie Zarządzania "Obszarem Archeologicznym Pompei i Torre del Greco" oparte jest na konserwacji dziedzictwa archeologicznego, w celu udostępnienia go społeczeństwu przy jednoczesnym zachowaniu świadectw, formalnych i materialnych cech miejsca, oraz zajęciu się kwestiami konserwatorskimi, jak również jakością projektu ulepszeń w zakresie dostępności. Zintegrowana konserwacja. Jakość interwencji konserwatorskich i restauratorskich w dziedzictwie kulturowym musi zatem być doskonalona poprzez świadomą analizę faktów, sprzyjającą zastosowaniu technologii naukowych i cyfrowych, sparowanych z podejściem diagnostycznym zdolnym do uwzględnienia digitalizacji procesów, efektywności energetycznej, dostępności, prowadzącym do cyfrowego zarządzania anamnezą i kontroli projektu restauratorskiego, opartego na odpowiedniej wiedzy o dobrach kultury i ich stanie zachowania.

The article presents with thoughts on the ontological status of good practices, their criteria and the role they play in social policy. The authors describe good practices in three dimensions: as an action aiming at solving a particular problem; as an element of knowledge produced by the organisation; as communication produced by the organisation; The authors review definitions of good practices and their criteria on the basis of secondary sources. They propose to select general and specific criteria of good practices. Specific criteria of good practices are discussed using the example of actions towards social cohesion, taken within the framework of local and regional public policies towards the elderly people. Conceptualizing social cohesion is done with reference to the concept of society for all ages. The authors also propose their own scheme for describing good practices that is meant to ensure their dissemination. The article is concluded with thoughts on the role of good practices in social policy on the micro- and macro-scale.
Artykuł zawiera rozważania na temat ontologicznego statusu dobrych praktyk, ich kryteriów oraz roli w polityce społecznej. Autorki charakteryzują dobre praktyki w trzech wymiarach: jako działanie służące rozwiązaniu jakiegoś problemu; jako element wiedzy wytwarzanej przez organizację; jako komunikat wytwarzany przez organizację. Na podstawie zastanych źródeł autorki dokonują przeglądu definicji dobrych praktyk i ich kryteriów. Proponują wyodrębnienie ogólnych i specyficznych kryteriów dobrych praktyk. Specyficzne kryteria dobrych praktyk omawiane są na przykładzie działań na rzecz spójności społecznej podejmowanych w ramach lokalnych i regionalnych polityk publicznych wobec ludzi starszych. Konceptualizacja spójności społecznej jest przeprowadzona poprzez odwołanie się do koncepcji społeczeństwa dla wszystkich grup wieku. Autorki przedstawiają także własną propozycję schematu opisu dobrych praktyk, który ma zapewnić ich upowszechnienie. Artykuł zamykają rozważania dotyczące roli dobrych praktyk w polityce społecznej – w mikro- i makroskali.

Miniona dekada to dla przedsiębiorstw czas dynamicznych zmian na światowych rynkach, rozwój globalnej konkurencji oraz poszukiwanie nowych dróg do osiągnięcia i  utrzymania przewagi konkurencyjnej. Zachodzące na zewnątrz firmy zmiany decydują o  jej przemianach wewnętrznych. W jakim kierunku podążało w  tym okresie zarządzanie zasobami ludzkimi? Celem artykułu jest analiza zmian zachodzących w  ostatnich latach w  praktyce ZZL firm funkcjonujących na polskim rynku oraz próba wskazania kierunków przyszłych przemian. W opracowaniu oparto się na danych dotyczących 5 inicjatyw z  zakresu ZZL: programu „Inwestor w  Kapitał Ludzki”, konkursu „Lider Zarządzania Zasobami Ludzkimi” oraz list najlepszych pracodawców, „Great Place to Work oraz Top Employers”.
The objective of this paper is analysis of changes taking place over recent years in the practice of the HRM of companies operating on the Polish market as well as an effort at indicating directions of future change. This paper is based on data on five initiatives in the area of HRM—the Human Capital Investor program, the Human Resource Management Leader competition, and the lists of Najlepsi Pracodawcy (Best Employers), Great Place to Work, and Top Employers.

To, czym jest dobre nauczanie, leży w centrum zainteresowań pedagogiki od tysiącleci. Jednakże ostatnie badania (Coe, Aloisi, Higgins i Major, 2014, Kornell i Hausman, 2016, Duke, 2012, Harmer, 2014, Grant, Stronge i Xu, 2014; Silny, Gargani i Hacifazlioglu, 2011; Hamre, Goffin i Kraft Sayre, 2009) sugerują, że ta pozornie dojrzała i dobrze zbadana dziedzina musi zostać ponownie empirycznie przeanalizowana. Coe i in. (2014) sugerują, że ostatnie badania nad najlepszymi praktykami pedagogicznymi stawiają pytania zarówno o elementy dobrego nauczania, jak i o sposoby jego pomiaru. Przeprowadzona ewaluacja próbuje odpowiedzieć na te pozornie oczywiste pytania o to, co tak naprawdę sprawia, że nauczanie jest dobre. Niniejszy artykuł ma na celu znalezienie odpowiedzi na niektóre z tych pytań. Po pierwsze, przedstawiona jest w nim analiza pojęcia dobrego nauczania i jego różnych aspektów, które należy wziąć pod uwagę podczas oceny. Po niej następują wyniki badawczych poszukiwań poświęconych wyznacznikom dobrego nauczania skoncentrowanym wokół różnych badawczych i/lub instytucjonalnych potrzeb, by ostatecznie w oparciu o ocenę ram określających dobre nauczanie zaproponowany został model potrzeb ewaluacji nauczania z perspektywy australijskiego studenta.
What constitutes good teaching has been at the focus of theories of pedagogy for thousands of years. However, recent research (Coe, Aloisi, Higgins & Major, 2014; Kornell & Hausman, 2016; Duke, 2012; Harmer, 2014; Grant, Stronge & Xu, 2014; Strong, Gargani & Hacifazlioglu, 2011; Hamre, Goffin & KraftSayre, 2009) suggests that this seemingly mature and wellresearched concept needs to be reexamined in view of the burgeoning research in the field. Coe et al. (2014) propose that recent research into best teaching practices brings up questions about elements of good teaching and ways of measuring it. The issue of evaluating teaching attempts to answer these seemingly obvious questions about what makes good teaching. This paper aims to address some of these questions. First, it examines the concepts of good teaching and the aspects which need to be considered in its evaluation. Next, it explores the frameworks determining good teaching which are delineated for different research and/or institutional needs. Based on the evaluation of these frameworks, the paper proposes a model for a specific set of needs of evaluating teaching from a student perspective at an Australian university.

In quest’articolo, attraverso lo studio di alcuni termini presenti nel romanzo Fortunata y Jacinta di Galdós che si riferiscono all’ambito medico e farmaceutico, si desidera portare avanti una riflessione su alcune “buone prassi” che il traduttore può impiegare nel suo lavoro di riscrittura, considerate come il frutto di un’operazione cognitiva, complesso intrigo di acquisizione, categorizzazione, osservazione riflessiva, elaborazione, sperimentazione e di creazione di dinamiche emotivo-motivazionali che hanno come prodotto ultimo la ricreazione del metatesto. Tali “buone prassi” rientrano a tutti gli effetti negli argomenti da trattare all’interno di una didattica della traduzione dal taglio neurolinguistico.
In this paper, through the study of some terms present in the novel Fortunata y Jacinta by Galdós that refer to the medical and pharmaceutical field, we want to carry out a reflection on some ‘best practices’ that the translator can use in his rewriting work, considered as the result of a cognitive operation, a complex intrigue of acquisition, categorization, reflective observation, elaboration, experimentation and creation of emotional-motivational dynamics which has, as its ultimate product, the recreation of the metatext. These 'best practices' fall to all intents and purposes in the topics to be treated within a teaching of translation with a neurolinguistic slant.

Using weapon of mass destruction (WMD) and toxic industrial material (TIM) as a tool for crime and act of terror led to the creation of special Scientific Working Group on the Forensic Collect and Analysis of Chemical, Biological, Radiological, and Nuclear (CBRN) evidence. Investigating authorities must be well prepared to ensure that an investigation was properly investigated and offender responsible for committing this crime suffer for their actions, in accordance with the law. The main purpose of this article is to present methods collecting forensic evidence contaminated with CBRN agents.
Użycie broni masowego rażenia (BMR) oraz toksycznych środków przemysłowych (TŚP) jako narzędzi zbrodni i aktu terroru przyczyniło się do utworzenia specjalnych zespołów zajmujących się zbieraniem dowodów w atmosferze skażeń. Organy śledcze muszą być dobrze przygotowane i przedsięwziąć wszystkie niezbędne środki, by dochodzenie w sprawie zdarzenia z użyciem czynników CBRN (ang. chemical, biological, radiological, nuclear) było właściwie prowadzone, a osoby odpowiedzialne za popełnienie takiego przestępstwa poniosły odpowiedzialność za swoje czyny, zgodnie z obowiązującym prawem. Głównym celem tego artykułu jest przedstawienie sposobu pobierania materiałów skażonych czynnikami CBRN do celów dowodowych.

Aim: If companies manage their inventory inefficiently, inventory costs can increase significantly due to shortages, overstocking, and risks. Inventory management is critical for company’s success which, in turn, impacts on countries’ development. This paper aims to investigate the efficiency of inventory control systems of companies from Brazil and Chile through Optimal Control Theory and Data Envelopment Analysis. Design/Research methods: Data was collected from Chilean and Brazilian companies covering different industries in which both countries are mostly dependent A new approach using OCT and DEA is applied for dealing with inventory, production, and demand in Dynamic DEA model to benchmark companies’ production-inventory systems. Conclusions/findings: The results show efficient companies among evaluated industries. Such companies are related mainly to Brazilian commerce and Chilean exports. Based on findings, it was possible to identify patterns and relationship among companies and its inventory management. Originality/value of the article: This paper fills a gap in studies including demand, production, and inventory in Dynamic DEA by using OCT to forewarn unrealistic results and observing companies’ behavior. Besides that, this approach is particularly useful for developing countries in this context, determining benchmarks for the most inefficient firms in each sector. Implications of the research: The results show (1) which companies should focus more on improving inventory management, (2) which companies should be used as benchmarks, and (3) it highlights the reasons of different performance of companies in each country. Limitations of the research: For future research, it is suggested including variables and analysis of social and environmental impacts.

W artykule dokonano analizy dobrych praktyk Uniwersytetu Jagiellońskiego w Krakowie w zakresie zapewniania bezpieczeństwa i przeciwdziałania dyskryminacji studentów i doktorantów. Krótka analiza przepisów poprzedziła omówienie rozwiązań instytucjonalnych służących zgłaszaniu problemów w tej sferze, jak również wsparciu psychologicznemu członków społeczności akademickiej. Omówiono wyniki cyklicznych badań poczucia bezpieczeństwa szczególną uwagę zwracając na zjawisko dyskryminacji oraz wybrane przykłady działań edukacyjnych i promocyjnych podkreślając rolę udziału w międzynarodowej kampanii antyprzemocowej.
The article is concerned with an analysis of best practices undertaken by the Jagiellonian University in Kraków in terms of providing undergraduate students and PhD students with safety, security and anti-discrimination. A brief analysis of law and regulations preceded a discussion of the institutional arrangements for reporting such problems, as well as psychological support for members of the academic community. The results of the cyclic research project on sense of security with special attention to the phenomenon of discrimination were presented. The article contains examples of educational and promotional activities highlighting the role of participation in international anti-violence campaign.
