Opis:
Stackelberg games are non-symmetric games where one player or specified group of players have the privilege position and make decision before the other players. Such games are used in telecommunication and computational systems for supporting administrative decisions. Recently Stackleberg games became useful also in the systems where security issues are the crucial decision criteria. In this paper authors briefly survey the most popular Stackelberg security game models and provide the analysis of the model properties illustrated in the realistic use cases.

Opis:
In this paper we investigate equilibriums in the Bayesian routing problem of the network game introduced by Koutsoupias and Papadimitriou (1999).We treat epistemic conditions for Nash equilibrium of social costs function in the network game. It highlights the role of common-knowledge on the users' individual conjectures on the others' selections of channels in the network game. Especially two notions of equilibria are presented in the Bayesian extension of the network game; expected delay equilibrium and rational expectations equilibrium. The former equilibrium is given such as each user minimizes own expectations of delay, and the latter is given as he/she maximizes own expectations of a social costs. We show that the equilibria have the properties: If all users commonly know them, then the former equilibrium yields a Nash equilibrium in the based KP-model and the latter equilibrium yields a Nash equilibrium for social costs in the network game. Further we introduce the extended notions of price of anarchy in the Bayesian network game for rational expectations equilibriums for social costs, named the expected price of anarchy and the common-knowledge price of anarchy. We will examine the relationship among the two extended price of anarchy and the classical notion of price of anarchy introduced by Koutsoupias and Papadimitriou(1999).

Opis:
Cognitive radio (CR) technology is considered to be an effective solution for enhancing overall spectrum efficiency. Using CR technology fully involves the providing of incentives to Primary Radio Networks (PRNs) and revenue to the service provider so that Secondary Base Stations (SBSs) may utilize PRN spectrum bands accordingly. In this paper, a cooperative games with incomplete information for SBSs in a CR network is presented. Each SBS can cooperate with neighboring SBSs in order to improve its view of the spectrum. Moreover, proposed game-theory models assume that the devices have incomplete information about their components, meaning that some players do not completely know the structure of the game. Using the proposed algorithm, each SBS can leave or join the coalition while maximizing its overall utility. The simulation results illustrate that the proposed algorithm allows us to reduce the average payoff per SBS up to 140% relative to a CR network without cooperation among SBSs.

Opis:
This paper revisits one of the most debated tales from the Old Testament, Jacob’s deception of his father Isaac, and models it in the framework of a Bayesian game. Solving for the equilibrium that occurs in the Torah reveals what conditions must hold for biblical characters to be willing to make the decisions that they make. The paper also examines how the protagonists’ decisions would have changed if they had held different values. The analysis sheds light on which interpretations of the biblical story hold the most weight when its characters maintain consistent beliefs and act upon them in a sequentially rational manner.

Opis:
The first article describing this project presented the three games that the participants played: the Ultimatum Game, the Trust Game and the Public Goods Game. This article describes the study group on the basis of a questionnaire regarding where they study and come from, their social contacts, interest in current issues, views on inequality and outlook on life. A description of the migratory decisions of students is given. In particular, two exploratory methods are used to investigate the data’s structure: Bayesian networks and principal component analysis. Bayesian networks are used to illustrate the associations between categorical variables. Principal component analysis is designed to describe latent variables which reflect the associations between numerical variables. We present the results of this analysis and discuss the advantages and disadvantages of these two methods.

Opis:
Although studies using experimental game theory have been carried out in various countries, no such major study has occurred in Poland. The study described here aims to investigate generalised trust and reciprocation among Polish students. In the literature, these traits are seen to be positively correlated with economic growth. Poland is regarded as the most successful post-soviet bloc country in transforming to a market economy but the level of generalised trust compared to other postcommunist countries is reported to be low. This study aims to see to what degree this reported level of generalised trust is visible amongst young Poles via experimental game theory, along with a questionnaire. The three games to be played have been described. Bayesian equilibria illustrating behaviour observed in previous studies have been derived for two of these games and the experimental procedure has been described.
