A wireless sensor system is an essential aspect in many fields. It consists of a great deal of sensor nodes. These sensor networks carry out a number of tasks, including interaction, distribution, recognition, and power supply. Data is transmitted from source to destination and plays an important role. Congestion may occur during data transmission from one node to another and also at cluster head locations. Congestion will arise as a result of either traffic division or resource allocation. Energy will be wasted due to traffic division congestion, which causes packet loss and retransmission of removed packets. As a result, it must be simplified; hence there are a few Wireless sensor networks with various protocols that will handle Congestion Control. The Deterministic Energy Efficient Clustering (DEC) protocol, which is fully based on residual energy and the token bucket method, is being investigated as a way to increase the energy efficiency. In the event of congestion, our proposal provides a way to cope with it and solves it using this method to improve lifespan of the sensor networks. Experiments in simulation show that the proposed strategy can significantly enhance lifetime, energy, throughput, and packet loss.

In this paper, the authors present an algorithm for determining the location of wireless network small cells in a dense urban environment. This algorithm uses machine learning, such as k-means clustering and spectral clustering, as well as a very accurate propagation channel created using the ray tracing method. The authors compared two approaches to the small cell location selection process – one based on the assumption that end terminals may be arbitrarily assigned to stations, and the other assuming that the assignment is based on the received signal power. The mean bitrate values are derived for comparing different scenarios. The results show an improvement compared with the baseline results. This paper concludes that machine learning algorithms may be useful in terms of small cell location selection and also for allocating users to small cell base stations.

A Yagi plasma antenna model was established by HFSS according to the relationship between plasma dielectric constant and electron density. The patterns were simulated by changing plasma parameters and the number of director dipoles. Results show that when the passive vibrators were switched off, the antenna is omnidirectional antenna. The directionality increases with the increase of the number of passive dipole and the main lobe of which narrows down. Then the plasma Yagi antenna model is established by plasma tube, the gain changed by changing the number of passive dipoles, so the plasma Yagi antenna has a very good reconfigurability. Results prove that the feasibility of the plasma Yagi antenna can be used on AIS base station of Ships’ Routeing waters. It can promote the communication and capability of maritime supervision in Ships’ Routeing waters.

The population of mobile communication subscribers keeps increasing exponentially with a growing industrial interest in the provision of improved quality of service. To maintain quality of service in a heterogeneous network built for high capacity utilization, the communication network must be stable as mobile users interact within the implemented coverage distribution. One of the basic mechanisms behind this communication metric is its ability to communicate wirelessly with respect to changing locations. Mobility is one critical benefit of mobile communication, which is made possible through the process of Handoff. One of the key performances in mobile communication is Handoff failure (call termination) rate, which is dependent critically on the handoff initiation mechanism. In this paper, the effect of traditional single parameter of either signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) or throughput on handover threshold and hysteresis was investigated. Consequently, a cross layer enhanced adaptive handoff initiation algorithm using fuzzy logic was proposed. The proposed method exploits the capability of soft computing to handle the unpredictable nature of the radio propagation environment. Four critical handoff Network-link parameters were employed to vary the Handoff threshold and Hysteresis in test the adaptive functionality of the algorithm. The proposed algorithm was seen to be adaptive to throughput, SNR, mobile transmitting power (MTP) and mobile velocity, thereby resulting in improved quality of service, marked with a decrease in handoff failure probability rate.

As more and more Base Stations (BSs) are being deployed by mobile operators to meet the ever increasing data traffic, solutions have to be found to try and reduce BS energy consumption to make the BSs more energy efficient and to reduce the mobile networks' operational expenditure (OPEX) and carbon dioxide emissions. In this paper, a BS sleeping technology deployable in heterogeneous networks (HetNets) is proposed. The proposed scheme is validated by using extensive OMNeT++/SimuLTE simulations. From the simulations, it is shown that some lightly loaded micro BSs can be put to sleep in a HetNet when the network traffic is very low without compromising the QoS of the mobile network.

We are constantly watching the growth of mobile phone users around the world. This causes interest in the issue of the influence of electromagnetic radiation on the human body. The sources of electromagnetic fields are among others mobile telephony. Mobile telephony consists of two basic elements: telephones (terminals) and base stations. Specific Absorption Rate (SAR) means the unit of amount of radiofrequency energy absorbed by the human body when using a mobile phone. The aim of the study was to measure the intensity of the electric field of the radio wave emitted by selected mobile phones. The measurements were carried out in the Radiation Measurement Laboratory at the Provincial Sanitary-Epidemiological Station in Rzeszów. Measurements were made for devices operating in different data transmission systems operating in certain frequency bands. The electric field of the electromagnetic field was measured using an wide field electromagnetic field measuring device type NBM-550 No. B-0240 with EF-1891 type probe. Measurements were made for devices with switched on and off data transmission at the time of receipt and during signaling. In the following sections describe mobile telephony and the basic characteristics of the mobile phone technology. The last part presents the way of making measurements and presentation of results.
Obecnie stale obserwuje się wzrost liczby użytkowników telefonów komórkowych na całym świecie. Powoduje to zainteresowanie zagadnieniem wpływu promieniowania elektromagnetycznego na organizm ludzki. Źródłem pola elektromagnetycznego jest m.in. telefonia komórkowa, która składa się z dwóch podstawowych elementów: telefonów (terminali) i stacji bazowych. Współczynnik absorpcji swoistej (SAR) oznacza jednostkę energii o częstotliwości radiowej zaabsorbowanej przez ludzkie ciało podczas korzystania z telefonu komórkowego. Celem pracy było zmierzenie natężenia pola elektrycznego sygnału fal radiowych emitowanych przez wybrane telefony komórkowe. Pomiary przeprowadzono w Laboratorium Pomiarów Promieniowania w Wojewódzkiej Stacji Sanitarno-Epidemiologicznej w Rzeszowie. Pomiary przeprowadzono dla urządzeń pracujących w różnych systemach transmisji danych, działających w określonych pasmach częstotliwości. Pomiary wykonano za pomocą wywzorcowanego, uniwersalnego, szerokopasmowego miernika natężenia pola elektromagnetycznego typu NBM-550 nr B-0240 z sondą pomiarową typu EF-1891. Wskazania urządzeń sprawdzano dla włączonej i wyłączonej transmisji danych podczas odebrania i w trakcie łączenia sygnału. Opisano telefonię komórkową i podstawowe cechy tej technologii. W ostatniej części artykułu przedstawiono sposób wykonania pomiarów i wyniki.

There are more and more buildings whose complexity, with regard to technology and construction, makes it difficult to qualify them to the category of a structure on the basis of the criteria set forth in Article 3, item 3 of the Construction Law. In the years 2012-2015, the Supreme Audit Office conducted several audits in which the key issue was to decide whether the audit subject is related to a structure. In his article, the author presents examples related to selected buildings whose qualification as a structure raised interpretation doubts in the light of Article 3, item 3 of the Construction Law. This led to the latitude and the lack of unified stance of architecture and construction administration bodies, and construction supervision bodies in the application of the law, and consequently – to significant doubts in evaluation of the audited activities.

Energy efficiency (EE) of wireless telecommunications has become a new challenge for the research community, governments and industries in order to reduce CO2 emission and operational costs. EE of base stations (BSs) in cellular networks is a growing concern for cellular operators to not only maintain profitability, but also to reduce the overall negative impact to the environment and economic issues for wireless network operators. In this paper, a framework focuses on the Area Energy Efficiency (AEE) evaluation of LTE BSs is presented. The parameters affect on the AEE and the coverage area of LTE BS in different scenarios are investigated. AEE analysis has been done using a few key performance indicators including transmit power, bandwidth, load factor with the assumption of different scenarios (urban, suburban and rural). The simulation results show that the LTE BSs have better AEE in an urban environment for cell radius less than 750 m compare with the suburban and rural environments. Furthermore, it is obvious that there is a strong influence of traffic load, BW and transmission power on AEE of LTE network. On the other hand, AEE increases significantly as the BW size increases. Finally, it has been shown that the AEE of LTE macro BS decreases with increasing the percentage of traffic load for all scenarios.

The paper presents a methodology for diagnostic of the technical condition of vehicle. The high accuracy of the actual trajectory of the transport aggregate (TA) is provided by the use of local differential mode of global navigation satellite system (GNSS). Comparing the real and rational trajectories will determine the kinematic and dynamic characteristics of the car.
Предложена методика определения технического состояния транспортного средства. Высокая точность определения реальной траектории движения транспортного агрегата (ТА) обеспечивается использованием локального дифференциального режима работы GNSS. Сравнение реальной и рациональной траекторий движения позволит определить кинематические и динамические качества автомобиля.

Artykuł przedstawia bezprzewodowy system transmisji danych, umożliwiający przesyłanie danych w paśmie częstotliwości 3,5 GHz-5,9 GHz. Przedstawiono liczne zastosowania systemu WiMax, zaczynając od monitoringu miast a kończąc na usługach interneto-wych. Praktycznie nie ma ograniczeń w zastosowaniu tego systemu. Należy pamiętać, że „tranzystorem XXI wieku” jest pasmo o określonej przepustowości (ang. Band [Mb/s]) a system WiMax wypełnia tą niszę. Celem stosowania go nie jest tylko wdrożenie nowej technologii, ale także działania w celu przeciwdziałaniu wykluczeniu cyfrowemu i społecznemu ludności z obszarów o utrudnionym dostępie do usług szerokopasmowych. W publikacji opisano podstawowe parametry systemu. Przedstawiono możliwości oraz korzyści płynące dla obywateli w przypadku uwolnienia i upowszechnienia pasma dla sieci WiMax, czyniąc go ogólnodostępnym. Przedstawiono najważniejsze rezultaty realizacji projektu „Opracowanie technologii oraz uruchomienie produkcji urządzeń do bezpiecznej transmisji radiowej”, realizowanego we współpracy z Politechniką Śląską. W ramach ww. projektu doposażono profesjonalny park maszynowy, który służy do wytworzenia, jedynych w Europie, urządzeń systemu WiMax, polskiej produkcji.
The article presents a wireless system of data transmission that enables sending data in a frequency band from 3,5 GHz to 5,9 GHz. In the paper numerous applications of the WiMax system are presented, beginning with the city monitoring, and finishing with the internet services. Practically there are not any limits to the system application. We need to keep in mind that the “transistor of the 21st century” is the band with the specific bandwidth (which is represented by [Mb/s]) and the WiMax system fills this niche. The main purpose of using the WiMax system is not only putting the new technology into practice but also the actions for counteracting the social and digital exclusion of people in the areas with the hindered access to the broadband services. The publication describes the basic system of parameters. There are presented both the possibilities and the benefits derived by citizens in the case of releasing and disseminating the frequency band for the network WiMax, making it widely accessible. The most significant results of the project “The development of the technology and the launching of production of the devices for safe radio transmission”, which was realized in cooperation with the Silesian Technical University, were presented. Within the above-mentioned project equipped the profes-sional machine park with new automats, which serve to produce the devices of the WiMax system that are unique in Europe and made in Poland.

Determining and forecasting of environmental influence of telecommunication equipment that is a source of electromagnetic radiation is still an actual challenge. The approach proposed enables to assess an impact of wide spectral electromagnetic sources on environment as well as to elaborate practical means of minimizing their influence.
Wyznaczenie i prognozowanie wpływu urządzeń komunikacyjnych będących źródłami różnoczęstotliwościowego promieniowania elektromagnetycznego na otaczające środowisko jest problemem aktualnym. Zaproponowane podejście pozwala ocenić wpływ promieniowania elektromagnetycznego źródeł różnoczęstotliwościowych na otaczające środowisko i opracować praktyczne sposoby na jego zmniejszenie.

Opis:
Description of the modeling system of differential GNSS mode for the operation ITS is considered. Differential method of navigation allows to precise determination of the coordinates and is not very complicated for technical realization. The coordinates of the consumer are calculated with high accuracy because the base station and the user are located in a short distance from each other. Determination of the origin location is on the same satellite and method of local correction is implemented.
