Opis:
The research was held in terms of Zaporozhian Reservoir (Dnipropetrovsk, Ukraine) from 2010 till 2014 year. For the first time in the last 50 years complex histological studies of reproductive system of bream from Zaporozhian Reservoir was conducted. The regularities of oogenesis and gonadogenesis, passing of sexual cycles and ecology of spawning of bream in the conditions of ecological transformation of Zaporozhian Reservoir were researched. Bream spawning population included 10 age classes. Absolute fertility of individuals of different ages ranged from 54.31 to 856.0 thousand eggs, and the average fertility was within 148-161 thousand eggs. Histological study of the ovaries showed asynchronous oocyte development in period of vitellogenesis. In conditions of Zaporozhian Reservoir bream generate only one portion of spawn, and 6-10 % of oocytes in phase of vacuolization were resorpted. The current environmental conditions of reservoir bream populations are subjected to natural and forced intra-differentiation, which is the adaptive mechanism of its reproduction.

Location of the monogenean Diplozoon paradoxum on the branchial arches of the Vistula Lagoon bream is described. The highest number of parasites was found on the first gill arch, followed by the numbers recorded on the second and third arches; the lowest numbers of the monogenean were typical of the fourth arch. About 70% of the monogeneas were found to dwell on the dorsal part of the branchial arch. It is concluded that the distribution of parasites is controlled by the direction of water flow through the gills as well as the size of the gill arch occupied by the helminths.

Opis:
Morphometric characters of the white seabream Diplodus sargus (Linnaeus 1758) were compared among samples collected from six marine and lagoon sites along the Tunisian coast to elucidate the impact of the geographical barrier of the Siculo-Tunisian Strait and/or the lagoon environment in the morphological variation among the Tunisian white seabream population. Two morphometric descriptors (twenty-five Truss elements and six traditional measurements) were used to study the pattern of this morphological variation. Univariate analysis of variance revealed significant differences (P < 0.001) for both traditional and Truss variables. Multivariate analysis using the two morphometric descriptors detected a clear variation in the body shape between D. sargus populations along the Tunisian coast. All these analyses showed the distinctness of the sample from El Biban lagoon compared to the remaining ones. This discrimination was due to the head and the peduncle of the studied fish. Varying degrees of differences were also observed between northern and southern samples, and between the lagoon and the marine samples. The morphologi- cal variations of the head explain also the discrimination between the different lagoons samples. Observed morphological heterogeneity seems to be related to the impact of ecological factors.

Opis:
The current study explores the possibility that multiple fish farms (FFs) containing sea bass (Dicentrarchus labrax) and sea bream (Sparus aurata) can be successfully integrated within a semi-enclosed bay in the Croatian Adriatic. The research focuses on determining principal environmental factors (EFs) that control the integration and attempts to estimate their individual and synergic ability to influence deposition and removal of organic matter (OM) and trace elements (TE) from the system. The complexity of the designated tasks demanded a comprehensive number of various datasets and samples to be used in the analysis. The ADCP data revealed strong wind induced currents forming within the research domain resulting in high system flushing efficiency (3.5—6 days). The sediment samples from all stations contained relatively inert minerals which contributed to overall low OM and TE concentrations and very limited variability found across the entire bathymetric range. The thermal advection effect recorded at two stations was attributed to specific seabed topography and the hydrodynamic response formed during Maestral wind episodes. The results indicate that a successful integra- tion of four FFs has taken place within the research site (semi enclosed bay), and that the key EFs responsible for its success are strong wind induced hydrodynamics, favorable seabed topography and sediment mineral composition. The synergy of the principal EFs that formed within the system was found to have an attenuating effect regarding FFs chemical influence (OM and TE) and an amplifying one regarding spatial footprint which extended to = 2000 m distance.
