The article describes the issues of dividend policy from the perspective of the psychology of the individual investor. A questionnaire survey conducted on 115 Polish stock exchange investors of different age, education, investment goals and professional activity aimed primarily at verifying the behaviour of the respondents in relation to the behaviour of the investors acting on the international market. The findings of the research not only confirm the convergence of the behaviour of Polish capital market investors against the behavioural dogmas of finance, but they also present new patterns of behaviour, provided that factors influencing an investment the decision-making process are taken into account.

Opis:
IBOR manipulation imposed new benchmark regulations that forced the market to enter a path of the reform of the existing financial indices and the creation of new ones. The paper describes the evolution of two IBOR panels: one representing a global financial benchmark LIBOR, and the other representing a local PLN benchmark, WIBOR. The paper provides a quantitative analysis of partial quotes of IBOR panellists and suggests that economic integrity measures should be introduced for IBOR panels. The aim of the research is to define a set of tools that provide information regarding the efficiency of the process of the production of the interest rate benchmark. The research is supplemented with a behavioural analysis of the banks’ decision-making process that interferes the contribution of IBOR data. The integrity measures can help market users and financial authorities in evaluating the quality of current and past panels and identifying behavioural factors impacting on partial quotes of the contributing banks.

Opis:
Self-deception is classified as the one of the decision-making errors which impede making reasonable decisions. The efficiency of the financial market is associated with the belief that all the participants of the market behave reasonably. They maximise their utility and are able to process all incoming information in the correct way. Considering the fact that financial market anomalies happen, it should be considered that the efficiency of this market is a specific situation in which it may be found. In this work, the research results of the conducted experiment were described. The hypothesis was studied that persons of a higher financial status are more likely to undertake more risky financial decisions which may result in obtaining higher collected financial funds. As a result of the conducted experiment the working hypothesis was confirmed. Due to self-deception consisting in strong identification with the chosen status in the game, strengthened with their own convictions regarding the behaviour of particular professional group representatives, persons with a higher status showed a much greater tendency to risk than persons with a lower status.

Opis:
Wartość bieżąca jest rozważana jako użyteczność strumienia finansowego. Dzięki temu można było określić, w jaki sposób awersja do ryzyka utraty płynności wpływa na stopę dyskonta. Otrzymany model został zastosowany w finansach behawioralnych.
Present value is considered as the utility of cash flow. Therefore discount rate is presented as a trend dependent on risk aversion. Obtained model was applied for behavioural finance.

One of the main debates in economics concerns the analysis of the global wealth. Economics became multidisciplinary research field which includes achievements of psychology, neurology, ethics and social science. As a result, the GDP should increasingly become multi-polar indicator. Alongside this work authors underline growing recognition of the importance of other contributions to individual global wealth, most especially psychology factors, health status, IQ, environment, personal security and aspects of CSR

Opis:
This study examines the mediating role of volatility on the relationship between analyst recommendations and herding in the Malaysian stock market by using data from 2010 to 2020. Volatility is measured by realized volatility and the Parkinson estimator. The empirical evidence suggests that herding exists and realized volatility intervenes in the direct relationship between analyst recommendations and herding. The release of analyst recommendations causes realized volatility to fluctuate and investors are triggered by the volatility, which in turn follow the crowd to herd. Nonetheless, the Parkinson estimator is found to be insignificant, which infers that investors have anchor bias and rely on previous day stock prices to trade and herd. This paper provides an alternative explanation to the direct relationship and enhances the study of informationbased herding. It contributes to academicians, practitioners, investors and policymakers to understand the herding of investors in responding to the arrival of new information.

Opis:
As the empirical studies show, investor sentiment is a significant factor in financial markets. The large-scale development of the technology has led to widespread access to information in real time (also to individual investors), which in turn has also led to the inflow of Big Data to market analysis. One of the sources of such data is the ability to track the phrases searched for in the web search engines. In our research we verify whether investor sentiment is affected by, among others, a daily Google keyword search called “Google Trends”. We consider measures of US investors’ sentiment calculated from survey studies – the AAII index. We investigate changes of sentiment and its volatility, which can be interpreted as nervousness of the market participants. We estimate a set of GARCH models with explanatory variables in conditional mean and variance. We confirm that negative keyword searches are connected with the decline of the investor confidence. The overall effect of a negative search is stronger than positive. Older searches have a weaker influence on investor sentiment than new ones – no lagged search proved to be significant.

Opis:
Nowadays, we see increasing interconnections between different scientific disciplines. It is becoming increasingly difficult for scholars to practice exclusively within their own field. Economics, finance and related disciplines, in recent years, have made extensive use of theoretical and empirical findings of other social sciences. The aim of this article is to present the issue of behavioural finance, the assumptions of which make it easier to understand what and why makes financial managers choose a particular course of action. Focusing on the tendencies of a psychological nature characteristic of managers that determine their specific behaviour, it is explained how the behaviour of finance professionals can be analysed through the prism of psychology. The article is based on the analysis of the literature on the subject, where the method of source analysis was mainly used.
