    The aim of this work is to present the methods of abrasive grain numerical model geometry generation based on analysis of real grain pictures. The methodology of abrasive grain shape generation, for three different images analysis methods, was presented. Obtained an irregular geometry of abrasive grains. The possibility of implementation of irregular numerical grain models into the ANSYS program, will allow to the modeling and numerical simulation of machining process at higher accuracy of numerical results (the numerical model will have reduced simplifications in relative to the real machining process). The numerical results will be subjected to experimental verification and may provide a basis for further modeling studies in this scope.

    W niniejszym artykule przedstawiono numeryczny sposób określenia całkowitej pracy niezbędnej do ukształtowania wyrobu w procesie tłoczenia. Numeryczne analizy i symulacje przeprowadzono w programie Ansys/Ls-Dyna. Przeanalizowano zarówno maksymalną siłę potrzebną do ukształtowania gotowego wyrobu jak i całkowitą pracę niezbędną do wykonania przez stempel. Porównano wyniki numeryczne z dwóch matryc promieniowych: o promieniu 12 mm oraz 18 mm, a także z matrycy o profilu krzywoliniowym. Przedstawiono wybrane wyniki symulacji oraz zestawiono je na zbiorczych wykresach.
    This article presents a numerical method of determining the total work required to shape the product in the drawing process. Numerical analysis and simulations were performed in Ansys/Ls-Dyna program. Was analyzed both, the maximum drawing force needed to shape the finished product and the total work required to be executed by the punch. Numerical results were compared with two radial dies: radius of 12 mm and 18 mm, and with the curvilinear profile die block. Presents chosen results of simulation and summarizes them in collective charts.

    Nowadays trends related to the road safety make the lighting poles producers meet rigorous requirements that decrease the risk of death and injury of vehicle drivers in case of the impact. New requirements are in force from 1 January 2015, when Road and Bridge Research Institute informed that each pole liable to a direct vehicle impact has to meet Standard PN-EN 12767. The article presents the design of a novel, safe lighting pole. The novelty lies in the pole simplicity, which results in the manufacturing technology the cost of which is comparable to that of the conventional pole. Compared to the conventional poles of thickness 3 mm and greater, this one is made of thin-walled steel sheet of increased strength parameters and specially designed sleeve that is fixed to the base plate. The crash tests carried out on the track for the impact experiments proved that the requirements of the standards in the driver highest safety class and in the high vehicle kinetic energy absorption were satisfied both for the speed impact 35 km/h and 100 km/h. The numerical model for simulations of the vehicle behaviour during and after the impact was implemented in software Ansys LS-Dyna. The simplifications of some elements were of negligible influence on the analysed phenomena. The comparative parameters were ASI, THIV and exit velocity of the vehicle. The numerical results were close to the empirical ones, therefore they confirmed that finite element analysis can be successfully applied at the stage of elaborating of the initial concepts of the road lightning poles. It follows that the number of expensive crash tests can be reduced.

    The main objective of this publication is to present the possibilities of using the numerical calculations to determine the force and the total drawing work. Minimizing the effort of energy is an important element in modern mass production, because the rapid determination of the total work allows optimizing the production process and reduce its harmful effects on the environment. In this paper summarizes the numerical results with experimental data for the purpose of verification. It was confirmed that at significance level α = 0,05 results of simulation are consistent with experimental. It has been determined that on the overall drawing work has an influence the profile of the die and the friction conditions in the contact zone.
    Głównym celem tej publikacji jest przedstawienie możliwości zastosowania obliczeń numerycznych do wyznaczania siły i całkowitej pracy tłoczenia. Minimalizacja nakładu energetycznego jest ważnym elementem w nowoczesnej produkcji masowej, dlatego szybkie wyznaczenie całkowitej pracy pozwala optymalizować proces produkcyjny i zmniejszyć jego szkodliwy wpływ na środowisko. W pracy zestawiono wyniki numeryczne z eksperymentalnymi w celu ich weryfikacji. Potwierdzono, że na poziomie istotności α = 0,05 wyniki symulacyjne są zgodne z eksperymentalnymi. Określono, że na całkowitą pracę tłoczenia ma wpływ profil matrycy i warunki tarcia w obszarze kontaktu narzędzi.
