Pedagogical opinions of J. A. Comenius and his unique reflections on the improvement of the society represent one of the main standpoints for the development of humanist pedagogy around the world. His concept of education as well as his ideas on how to resolve many of the world’s complex problems were at the time highly progressive and have influenced the society’s way of thinking in Slovakia as well. The credit for the popularisation of his ideas goes to many notable personalities in Slovakia in the 19th and 20th centuries. His ideas are still tangible in the process of contemporary teaching of pedagogues, from primary schools all the way to universities.

Intencją autorki artykułu jest zwrócenie uwagi na jedno z licznych dzieł Nauczyciela Narodów i przybliżenie w ten sposób treści imponującej pracy Jana Amosa Komeńskiego. Czeski pedagog dostrzega potrzebę istnienia odpowiednio zorganizowanej placówki wychowawczej dla dzieci w wieku przedszkolnym. W Informatorium, swoim programie wszechstronnego rozwoju dzieci, kładł nacisk na przygotowywanie ich już od urodzenia do przyszłej systematycznej nauki w szkole.
It is the intention of the author of this article to draw attention to one of the many works of the Teacher of Nations in order to give an insight into the content of the impressive work of John Amos Comenius. The Czech pedagogue recognised the need for a properly organised educational institution for pre-school children. In the informatorium, his programme for the all-round development of children, he places emphasis on preparing them from birth for future systematic schooling.

Zjawisko to nazwano tutaj „wiedzą szkodliwą” i przeanalizowano w odniesieniu do Labiryntu świata i raju serca Jana Amosa Komeńskiego. Celem badań jest egzegeza owego dzieła pod kątem zastosowania jej do diagnozy problemów świata współczesnego.
The research focus of this article is the following problem: how what is socially regarded as knowledge can be used to spread disinformation, thus endangering the recipient. This phenomenon is referred to here as ‘harmful knowledge’ and is analysed with reference to John Amos Comenius’ The Labyrinth of the World and the Paradise of the Heart. The article aims to examine this work with regard to its application to the diagnosis of contemporary world problems.

Celem prowadzonych w artykule analiz było odnalezienie takich wątków w koncepcji edukacji Jana Amosa Komeńskiego, które mieszczą się w teorii i metodyce wy-chowania resocjalizującego. Przeanalizowano wybrane teksty i komentarze do pism Komeńskiego, a następnie – poprzez zastosowanie metody analityczno-krytycznej – zestawiono je ze współczesnymi propozycjami mieszczącymi się w obszarze teoretycznym i metodycznym pedagogiki resocjalizacyjnej. Wnioski jedynie uogólniono, stwierdzając, że do dnia dzisiejszego niektóre metody wychowawcze zaproponowane przez Jana Amosa Komeńskiego pozostają aktualne w wychowaniu resocjalizującym. Są to pedagogiczne zasady akceptacji i wzajemności oraz metody motywujące, aktywizujące, stymulujące i dramowe. Pośrednio odnaleziono u niego wątki inkluzyjne. W pozostałych przypadkach teorie wychowania resocjalizacyjnego są zasadniczo odmienne od koncepcji Komeńskiego.
The aim of the conducted discourse analysis was to find in Comenius's concept of education assertions that may also be present in the methodology of social rehabilitation education. Selected texts by Comenius were analysed and compared with contemporary concepts of social rehabilitation pedagogy. The analytical-critical method was used in the analyses. Results: The social rehabilitation pedagogy uses the methods of upbringing that Comenius proposed in education. These are the principles of acceptance, direct reciprocity, and motivating, activating, and stimulating methods. The themes of educational inclusion were found in Comenius' concept.

Artykuł jest próbą odpowiedzi na pytanie o fenomen Komeńskiego oraz istotę uniwersalizmu jego pansofii. Z jednej strony uniwersalizm poglądów Komeńskiego i jego wizja świata wydają się uznaniem dla jego geniuszu. Z drugiej strony powstaje pytanie: Czy uniwersalizm pansofii Komeńskiego nie jest tęsknotą za lepszym światem? Rozumianym jako wolny od przemocy, bezpieczny, przewidywalny oraz dający poczucie szczęścia, porządku i ładu społecznego – co u Komeńskiego stanowiło społeczne paradygmaty. W kontekście komeniologii dokonano oceny współczesnej edukacji, jej problemów i zagrożeń. Próba reminiscencji epoki Komeńskiego i zwrot ku przyszłości ukazują znaczenie i wartość jego twórczości oraz jej ponadczasowy wymiar.
The article is an attempt to answer the question about the Comenius phenomenon and to determine the essence of the universalism of his pansophism. The universalism of Comenius' views and his vision of the world seem to be an acknowledgement of his genius. On the other hand, a question arises: is not the universalism of Comenius' pansophism a longing for a better world? It is understood as free from violence, safe, predictable, and bringing a sense of happiness, order, and social order, which were social paradigms for Comenius. In the context of comeniology, an assessment of contemporary education, its problems and threats was made. An attempt to reminisce the era of Comenius and a turn towards the future justify the importance and value of his work and its timeless dimension.

This paper examines the function and significance of the issue of health and illness in the literary and philosophical-religious discourse of John Amos Comenius. Research shows that the mental foundation of The Labyrinth of the World is based on the dialectics of health and illness, which for the author becomes the equivalent of good and evil, truth and falsehood, eternity and temporality, spiritual perfection and vanity. The culpable physical degradation of man is, in Comenius' work, a source of temporal suffering, and it also derails the chances of gaining spiritual perfection and, consequently, makes it impossible to get closer to God.
Przedmiotem badań w niniejszym artykule jest funkcja oraz znaczenie zagadnienia zdrowia oraz choroby w dyskursie literackim i filozoficzno-religijnym Jana Amosa Komeńskiego. Badania wykazują, iż myślowy fundament Labiryntu świata oparty jest na dialektyce zdrowia i choroby, która staje się dla autora ekwiwalentem dobra i zła, prawdy i fałszu, wieczności i doczesności, doskonałości duchowej i marności. Zawiniona fizyczna degradacja człowieka jest w dziele Komeńskiego nie tylko źródłem cierpienia doczesnego, ale przekreśla szanse na zyskanie doskonałości duchowej, a w konsekwencji uniemożliwia zbliżenie się do samego Boga.

The author presents to the Polish-speaking reader a little-known work by Jan Amos Comenius, titled Latin Dedicatio ad tria regna – Czech Dedikace třem královstvím – Polish Dedykacja trzem Królestwom – English Dedication to the Three Kingdoms. It acquaints us not only with its structure, composition and layout, but also with the main theses and assumed plans. It introduces us to a large extent to the subject matter of „repairing human things”. We see how Jan Amos Comenius persistently and with unprecedented persistence decidedly pursued the honorable goal that he set for himself – the panophilic repair of all human things. A picture of Comenius' hopes for these three European countries, ie Poland, Sweden and Great Britain, was also presented. We also learn how this manuscript in question was gradually modified by him over the course of the seventeenth century. An important fact is also that the described work is important for modern science, especially in historical, social, pedagogical, philological and theological disciplines.

The article analyses The New Comenius, a work by a little-known 19th-century Polish writer, Jan Mieroszewski. The title itself indicates a connection with the works by John Amos Comenius due to the appellativization of the scientist’s name. The author lists multiple affinities in the content, composition and form of the Polish "Comenius" with Orbis Pictus and other works by the outstanding Czech educator, and above all, with his idea of pansophism. He mentions the illustrative method of transferring knowledge and the encyclopaedic tendency to collect and systematize it. At the same time, he proves that Comenius' concepts influenced the development of the Polish prose of the seventeenth century, which assumed the silvic formula of a collection of varieties useful in the lives of educated people. Mieroszewski's book is a continuation of this trend of writing, which combined genealogically contradictory patterns of silva rerum and the encyclopaedia. Despite its literary nature, it retains the value of a textbook or lexicon, which was intended to convey wisdom in a universal dimension, relating to the spheres of self-knowledge, the world of universal and transcendent things, as Comenius had assumed. Undoubtedly, the analysed text confirms the viability of the scholar's concept in the Polish intellectual and literary culture of the nineteenth century.

Milada Blekastad (1917–2003) was a translator, writer, and university lecturer. She was born in Prague; however, she spent most of her life in Norway. She translated books from Czech to Norwegian and vice versa. Blekastad was also a scholar focusing on the work of Jan Amos Comenius (1592–1670), a leading humanist, theologist, philosopher, and pedagog. Norway helped Blekastad to develop her full potential. In return, she worked hard to introduce Czech (or wider European) cultural values to Norway through her work. What circumstances shaped the mutually enriching relationship between Blekastad and the Norwegian intellectual, academic, and cultural environments? What drove her rising social trajectory? To answer these questions, one must look at the social fields she operated in, at her habitus, and at the cultural and economic capital she managed to turn into symbolic capital in a country that was not her homeland.

The article attempts to synthetically present the thought of John Amos Comenius, as a precursor of preschool pedagogy. An attempt has been made to determine what makes his thought still current in theory and pedagogical practice in kindergarten. These findings make it possible to compare what we know and what we are guided by at present. The analysis of Comenius’ whole life is a combination of the value of the work itself, the format of research, organizational and journalistic activities, and the features of the times in which we live today.
W artykule podjęto próbę ukazania w sposób syntetyczny myśli Jana Amosa Komeńskiego jako prekursora pedagogiki przedszkolnej, a także określenia, co sprawia, że jego myśl jest ciągle aktualna zarówno w teorii, jak i w praktyce pedagogicznej przedszkola. Te ustalenia pozwalają dokonać porównania z tym, co wiemy i czym kierujemy się aktualnie. Analiza całego życia Komeńskiego to połączenie wartości samego dorobku, formatu działań badawczych, organizatorskich i publicystycznych oraz cech czasów, w jakich przyszło nam współcześnie żyć.

This outline is an attempt to answer the questions concerning the scientific foundation and, above all, the inspiration of modern didactic and pedagogical concepts of John Amos Comenius by works of authors whose pedagogical and philosophical solutions appeared in the first half of the 17th century, especially the legacy of Sebastian Petrycy of Pilsen, in the context of foreign languages specifications and plans for teaching them. Educational, cultural and social contexts, as well as the media revolution of the 17th and 21st centuries, are the starting point for these considerations. Analysis of some excerpts from Sebastian Petrycy's Przydatki, comeniologists', contemporary educators’, scientists’ and a Nobel Prize winner's works are essential in an attempt to formulate answers to these questions. Establishing the extent of inspiration which appeared to be important to Comenius may prove to be significant in the context of studying the significance of this great pedagogue's ideas for the development of science and education.

Jan Amos Komenský belongs to the prominent personalities of education and culture whose works greatly influence children and youth upbringing and education not only in their times but also in the current period of modern concept of family education. The main goal of the article is to provide information about the family upbringing of an individual and, last but not least, Jan Amos Komenský’s view on the issue. Systemic confrontation based on the elaboration of the researched area of Jan Amos Komenský`s on the family environment and upbringing was used. The authors of the article adhere to the analytical-synthetic method, insofar as the analysis of professional sources is important in order to obtain valid content of the given issues that are being discussed. The education of an individual in the family environment has recently received increased attention of the whole society. The foundations of today’s concept of family education can also be found in Jan Amos Komenský`s works.
an Amos Komenský patří k těm osobnostem vzdělanosti a kultury, který velkou měrou ovlivnil výchovu a vzdělávání dětí a mládeže nejen v období jeho působení, ale i v současném období moderní koncepce rodinné výchovy. Hlavním cílem odborného textu je poskytnout informace o rodinné výchově lidského jedince a v neposlední řadě pohled Jana Amose Komenského na danou problematiku. V příspěvku systémovou konfrontaci vycházející ze zpracování zkoumané oblasti Jana Amose Komenského na rodinné prostředí a výchovu. Držíme se analyticko-syntetické metody, přičemž je důležitá analýza odborných pramenů, aby se získal obsah vyhovující dané problematice, kterou rozebíráme. Výchova lidského jedince v rodinném prostředí se v posledním období dostává do zvýšené pozornosti celé společnosti. Základy dnešní koncepce rodinné výchovy nacházíme i v době působení Jana Amose Komenského.

John Amos Comenius' views on education do not only have a historical dimension. They belong to the valuable aspects relating to the area of education in the context of the organ-ization of schoolwork, universality of education, arranging the teacher's work with the use of methodologically important teaching principles and working methods, taking into account the intellectual and physical abilities of students. The meaning of the postulated views is humanistic, leaning towards a man and his development possibilities. At the same time, they indicate his a right for a dignified life, which results from the concept of human nature. From the sense and essence of J. A. Comenius' humanistic thinking derives the nature of his timeless ideas, whose message is still valid in the multidimensional education of the 21st century. The aim of the text is to present selected ideas of J. A. Comenius - a scholar from the 17th century, which are still relevant and can be found in contemporary education. In the text, I refer to the selected ideas. I characterize and interpret them, referring to the great works by J. A. Comenius and priority modern educational challenges.
