Opis:: Pojawiające się projekty alternatyw dla współczesnej hegemonicznej organizacji władzy (rozumianej jako porządek państwowy, kapitalizm, nowoczesność, biowładza itp.) są konstruowane na fundamentach zarówno kulturowo znanych, jak i obcych. Artykuł jest próbą rozpoznania potencjału i ograniczeń „umiaru”, który pozwoliłby na wytworzenie organizacji alter-państwowych. Wychodząc od analizy Rzeczpospolitej Obojga Narodów jako bytu niepaństwowego, autor wskazuje na bardzo ważną rolę „umiaru” w jej mechanizmach wspólnotowych. Rozumiejąc je zgodnie z deleuzjańską koncepcją systemów maszynowych, śledzi je za pomocą narzędzi teoretycznych: sieci wyobrażeniowej oraz pamięci formulicznej i fantasmagorycznej, które pozwalają na określenie potencjalnej pracy „umiaru” we współczesnych projektach alternatywnych organizacji władzy.
The emerging projects of alternatives to the contemporary hegemonic organization of power (recognized as the order of the State, capitalism, modernity, biopower, etc.) are constructed on both culturally familiar and alien foundations. The article is an attempt to recognize the potential as well as the limitations of “moderation” that would allow generating alter-State organizations. Starting from the analysis of the Polish–Lithuanian Commonwealth as a non-state, the author points out the key role of “moderation” in its community mechanisms. Understanding them in accordance with the Deleuzian concept of machine systems, the author traces them with theoretical tools: the imaginary network and formulative and phantasmagoric memory, which specify the potential work of “moderation” in contemporary projects of alternative organizations.

Opis:: Der Autor bemüht sich, die das Alter im biblischen Aspekt betreffenden Fragen zu beantworten. Dies sind folgende Fragen: Wie wurden Alter und alte Menschen in altertümlichen Zivilisationen behandelt? Welche Funktionen wurden ihnen verliehen und worin wurden Vorzüge und Fehler bemerkt? Diese Fragen beantwortet der Autor, indem er die Problematik des Alters in außerbiblischer Umwelt analysiert. Anschließend berücksichtigt er den altertümlichen Nahen Osten, die griechische und römische Welt. In Anlehnung an das aus diesen Regionen geschöpfte Wissen analysiert er Bibeltexte, die das Alter und ältere Menschen betreffen (II). Seine Analysen beendend unterstreicht er die existenziale Überlieferung der biblischen Botschaft und stellt fest, dass das Alter „den gleichen Weg für alle Bewohner dieser Erde” darstellt (I Könige 2:2; Sir 8:7).

Opis:: The World Council of Churches (WCC) is the biggest and the most impactful ecumenical organization. It considers itself to be an area where Christians from all corners of the world meet. Yet apart from theological dialogue, from the very beginning the WCC has emphasized its social commitment. It is manifested in the in-depth reflection on social and political issues, in various programmes which fight against social problems, and in the contribution to the global debate on the future of the world. For two decades, theologians from the WCC have acknowledged that economic and cultural globalization are fundamental challenges for the world. In their opinion, globalization results in increasing poverty, particularly in the countries of the Global South, and in various social and political crises across the world. In order to face the threats related to globalization, they promote its different nature, one employing technological progress as well as an increase of social awareness concerning globalization. In the perspective of the WCC, Christianity, and the ecumenical movement in particular, has an inalienable task to inspire a new order in the globalizing world.

Opis:: Performative alter ego The dynamic development of the Internet and the constant search for new ways of reaching the user bring about the availability of materials that were previously unattainable. Performance art, thanks to its special openness to new methods of expression, reaches the mass media, while showing the individual’s psyche and character of the author’s work. The set of gestures, their sequence and narration are the basis for creating performance art, understood not only as a clear alternative to conven- tional art, but also characterized by unpredictability, in which the viewer is not prepared for the way messages are received. Undoubtedly, social platforms create an illusion. “The influencer” can reach thousands of viewers and gain fame without leaving home. Without a doubt, social media have created a new entry point to the global art scene, opening way to a wide spectrum of diverse artistic activities. The method of re- cording, the non-cutaneous nature of the phenomenon makes it possible to own performative actions. The context of a performance is particularly important. It affects what can be universally recognized as art. The ques- tion arises (since we distinguish two values of the performative action: in the art gallery and on the street), what frames on the social media allow the audience to interpret it as art, and assuming that it is an art, does it change the perception of a given phenomenon?

Opis:: Den Untersuchungsgegenstand bildet das Problem der Altersliebe in ausgewählten Werken von Martin Walser, die im XX. und XXI. Jahrhundert entstanden sind, das in ihnen dargestellte geistige, emotionale und körperliche Altern der männlichen Protagonisten sowie die damit verbundenen Probleme im Bereich der Sexualität, die Kluft zwischen den Senioren und der Jugend, ihre Einsamkeit und Liebessuche. Die Thematik der Vergänglichkeit, des Altseins, der schwindenden Kräfte und existenzieller Probleme, die mit dem fortgeschrittenen Lebensalter einhergehen, ist in vielen Romanen Martin Walsers präsent, doch besonders in den Werken der letzten 15 Jahre tritt das Themenkomplex Liebe und Altern sichtbar in den Vordergrund. Dieses zu beschreiben, ist das Ziel dieser Analyse
Przedmiotem analizy są wybrane sylwetki męskich bohaterów dzieł Martina Walsera powstałych w XX i XXI wieku, ich starzenie się duchowe, emocjonalne i fizyczne oraz związane z tym procesem problemy natury seksualnej, pogłębiająca się przepaść między seniorami a pokoleniem ludzi młodych czy związana ze starzeniem się samotność i niezrozumienie. Tematyka przemijania, starości, spadających sił witalnych, rozterek egzystencjalnych towarzyszących schyłkowi życia obecna jest w pisarstwie Walsera od dziesięcioleci, jednak zwłaszcza w utworach napisanych w ostatnich 15 latach motyw determinującego postawy i postępowanie bohaterów lęku przed starością, utratą miłości i nieuchronną śmiercią eksponowany jest w sposób szczególny. Celem pracy jest analiza zjawiska starości i miłości w wieku dojrzałym ukazana w owych utworach.
The article analyses selected male protagonists of literary works of Martin Walser created in the 20th and 21st century, their spiritual, emotional and physical aging and problems of sexual nature, the deepening gap between elderly man and the young generation, or loneliness and lack of understanding connected with aging. The subject of transience, aging, declining vital force, existential dilemmas which accompany the last years of life, has been present in Walser’s works for decades, not only in those created recently the motif of the fear of life, ageing, loss of love and inevitable death, determining the attitudes and actions of the protagonists has been particularly foregrounded.

Opis:: Artykuł dotyczy swoistej „podwójnej” twórczości muzyków związanych z zespołem Neurosis i projektem Tribes of Neurot. Obie formacje tworzą ci sami artyści, płyty obu zespołów stanowią dwie, radykalnie różne wersje tych samych kompozycji. Materiałem badawczym jest tu relacja między płytami Times of Grace Neurosis oraz Grace Tribes of Neurot (1999). Obie płyty, choć niezależne, słuchane równocześnie stanowią niezwykle ciekawą nową wartość artystyczną. Artykuł skupia się na analizie brzmienia oraz swoistej „lustrzaności” kompozycji obu zespołów, której celem jest interpretacja artystycznych i światopoglądowych implikacji zabiegu zaproponowanego przez muzyków Neurosis.
This paper concerns at ”doubleness” in work of Neurosis and Tribes of Neurot. The activity of both groups seems to be simultaneous: the same artists in the both bands, the same names of their albums, the same trakclists, similar cover designs suggest to treat it not as different ventures but as a significant dual artistic project. Parallel between simultaneous albums of Neurosis and Tribe of Neurot makes an impression of disturbing presence of unclear alterego in their music.

Opis:: Basing upon the two fundamental works of Edmund Husserl (Logische Untersuchungen and Idee) the author presents Husserl’s concepts of obligation and value according to the phenomenological reduction and the theory of the constitution of objects. Within the context of reduction the conclusions are: as according to Husserl the substance of normative sentences in valuation, the problems of obligation may be reduced to problems of valuation. The sense (Sinn) proves to be fundamental, prior to the existence. If anything should come to being in the ontological meaning it must become a moment of intentional life of consciousness. That is why the object and value exist in the same way but are only different names of some units of sense. The difference becomes clearer on a ‘higher’ level when they are characterised as intentional objects and the intentional experience directed towards them. Contrary to objects we can be directed towards values in a perceptible way (erfassenseise). The experience of value is always a based act. These acts are analysed against the background of noesis and noema. On the stage of constitution of the world it appears however that the substance of morality may be cognised with a personalistic attitude.
Opierając się na dwóch fundamentalnych pracach Edmunda Husserla (Logische Untersuchungen i Idee) autor przedstawia Husserlowskie koncepcje obowiązku i wartości według redukcji fenomenologicznej i teorii ukonstytuowania się przedmiotów. W kontekście redukcji wnioski są następujące: jak według Husserla istota zdań normatywnych w wycenie, problemy obowiązku można sprowadzić do problemów wyceny. Sens (Sinn) okazuje się fundamentalny przed istnieniem. Jeśli cokolwiek ma powstać w znaczeniu ontologicznym, musi stać się momentem zamierzonego życia świadomości. Dlatego przedmiot i wartość istnieją w ten sam sposób, ale są tylko różnymi nazwami niektórych jednostek zmysłu. Różnica staje się wyraźniejsza na „wyższym” poziomie, gdy są one scharakteryzowane jako celowe obiekty i celowe doświadczenie skierowane do nich. W przeciwieństwie do przedmiotów możemy być skierowani ku wartościom w sposób dostrzegalny (erfassenseise). Doświadczenie wartości jest zawsze aktem opartym na drodze. Akty te są analizowane na tle noesis i noema. Na scenie ukonstytuowania się świata wydaje się jednak, że istotę moralności nie można poznać poza postawą personalistyczną.

Opis:: Contemporary world has become a global ecumene. The theory of globalization as approached by R. Robertson invokes the world conceptualization which assumes reducing the tension between the dichotomous tendencies. Unification and diversification are complementary processes, they are mutually influential and essential for the contemporary stage of development of the global society. The paradigm of globalization on the social and cultural plane is revealed in the binary scheme of extremes, such as: decontextualization and recontextualization, decomposition and recomposition, deteritorialization and re-teritorialization, transculturation and internalization. The contemporary anti-globalist movement is a reflection of ideological opposition. The criticism of globalization remains in close connection to an increasingly lively discussion regarding alternatives to globalization. Specificity of the quality of global cultural ecumene reveals the need to shape and improve the orientation towards responsible participation and cooperation in the changing and co-dependent global society.

Opis:: In presented paper we consider the problem of knowledge of other minds. We develop a systematic argument against this theory that has come to known as argument from analogy. We look to the philosophical and psychological ideas whose meaning boils down to the claim that metacognitive processes so critical for self-awareness, self-knowledge emerge and develop in a strong connection with the process of attribution of mental states to others. We spin in one position some philosophical traditions, dating historically from Augustine, Descartes to Strawson and Davidson. Then, we combine philosophical discourse with the findings provided in developmental psychology, which show that children’s attributions of their own mental states emerge in a strong correlation with the attribution of mental states to others. Next, we combine those psychological findings with philosophical discussion of the conceptual conditions for the attribution of mental states. At the same time, we show that a key issue in the design of an argument against the theory which recognizes the primacy of the first person or uses in some sense the argument from analogy in solving the problem of other minds, is to refer to cognitive conditions for the acquisition of language and its functioning which we find historically in Descartes’ works and recently in works of cognitive psychologists.
W prezentowanym artykule rozważamy problem poznania innych umysłów. W sposób systematyczny rozwijamy argument wobec tych teorii, której modelowym przykładem jest teoria poznania przez analogię. Sięgamy do idei filozoficznych i psychologicznych, których sens sprowadza się do twierdzenia, że procesy metakognitywne, tak kluczowe dla procesów samoświadomych (w ramach których realizuje się odniesienie do siebie, wiedza na temat własnych stanów mentalnych i własnego „ja”), wyłaniają się i wykształcają w silnym związku z procesem atrybucji stanów mentalnych innym podmiotom. Rozwijając tak sformułowane stanowisko spinamy w jedną całość różne wątki i tradycje filozoficzne, przemieszczając się historycznie od Augustyna, Kartezjusz do Strawsona czy Davidsona. Następnie, łączymy dyskurs filozoficzny z ustaleniami poczynionymi w psychologii rozwojowej, które pokazują, że atrybucje stanów mentalnych sobie samemu wyłaniają się w logicznym czasowym związku z atrybucjami trzeci-osobowymi. Następnie, ustalenia psychologiczne łączymy z dyskusją filozoficzną nad warunkami konceptualnymi dotyczącymi atrybucji stanów mentalnych. Jednocześnie pokazujemy, że kluczową sprawą w konstrukcji argumentu przeciw teorii uznającej prymat pierwszej osoby jest odniesienie się do tzw. kognitywnych warunków nabywania języka i jego funkcjonowania, co odnajdujemy w pracach Kartezjusza a współcześnie w publikacja psychologów kognitywnych.

Bible age old people growing old life experience wisdom
Opis:: Since the Bible is not a systematical work, it is not easy to answer the question of how ageing is viewed by biblical texts unambiguously. One of the reasons is the perception of ageing in biblical times. Generally old people were appreciated for their life experience and wisdom; they should be respected accordingly. Old age was also seen as a reward for a godly life. This also explains why particularly important figures in the history of salvation and models of faith were “awarded” with old age. However, the Bible also knows the grievances and the burdens of old age, so that old people are dependent on the help of others. Nevertheless, the Bible never views ageing as a “curse”. Rather, the Bible seems to put more emphasis on those exemplary and, in this sense, (probably idealized) cases in which age is accentuated as the grace of God.
Da die Bibel kein systematisch durchdachtes Werk ist, lässt sich die Frage nach der Bewertung des Alters in der Bibel erwartungsgemäß nicht eindeutig klären. Das hat nicht zuletzt auch damit zu tun, dass das Alter in biblischer Zeit anders wahrgenommen wurde. Alte Menschen werden in der Bibel für gewöhnlich wegen ihrer Lebenserfahrung und ihrer Weisheit geschätzt; entsprechend sollen sie geachtet werden. Entsprechend gilt hohes Alter als Belohnung für ein gottgefälliges Leben. Damit erklärt sich auch, dass besonders wichtige Gestalten der Heilsgeschichte und nachahmenswerte Glaubensvorbilder durch ein hohes Alter „ausgezeichnet“ werden. Umgekehrt kennt die Bibel auch die Beschwerden und die Last des Alters, sodass alte Menschen auf fremde Hilfe angewiesen sind. Dennoch betrachtet sie das Altwerden nie als „Fluch“. Vielmehr scheint die Bibel eher jene beispielhaften (und in diesem Sinn wohl auch idealisierten) Fälle ins Rampenlicht zu stellen, in denen das Alter als Gnadenerweis Gottes hervorgehoben wird.
