Opis:
Agility is a term that is widely used. However, a common understanding of what agility means and what it consists of is missing. Many frameworks have been developed for how to approach agility, but they are very heterogeneous regarding content and structure. This paper approaches the issue by conducting a systematic comparison of 28 available agility frameworks out of the domains of agile manufacturing, agile software development, agile organization, and agile workforce. Altogether, 33 concepts related to agility were identified. The results of the comparison show that, even within the specifically examined domains, a lack of consensus is obvious. In addition, the utilized concepts are very ambiguous and overlapping. As such, the interdependencies between the identified concepts were analyzed in detail. This revealed five recurring “clusters”, each of which combines several concepts with similar content, but despite the amount of available frameworks, none of them reflects these clusters directly. Hence, the study shows that factors beyond the construct of agility are not yet fully uncovered.

Authors in their contribution deal with the issue of reactive and running agility in sport. Upon constructing the methods of research we assumed that players ́ performances in running agility (Illinois test) should increase with the age of soccer players. W e expected that we shall not prove this tendency in the level of reaction agility (FAC) with regard to the fact that performance in reaction agility is limited, besides motor, also by other prerequisites such as perception, state of receptors, sensoric and autonomous functions, spinal and supraspinal levels of motor system. We also expected that there will be no proved relationship between these tests ́ results in any age category. The level of performance in running and reactive agility increases with age; t he increase is smooth in running agility and cascaded in reactive agility starting with the 14 yrs. category. We also noted a downward tendency in the correlation between running and reactive agility with increasing age. This decline is most evident from t he 14 th year of age. The relationship between running and reaction agility was not observed in the study group from the age of 13. Coaches are recommended to switch over to the specific development of agility using the way of weakening anticipation ability of the player and to replace exercises with closed -loop skills by the ones of open -loop skills.

Opis:
The purpose of this investigation is to determine age dynamism of reactive agility in young football players, thus specifying the impact of sport training on the level of reactive agility of players. 112 young male football players playing for the football club in Nitra, Slovakia volunteered to participate in the study. Another goal was to clarify the age dynamics of performances in the monitored groups of football players and to find out the mutual relationship between the two types of agility. Trends in sport performance and relationship of both kinds of agility were observed in 6 teams of different age categories (U11 up to U16). In order to fulfil the aim of the research two different motor tests for running agility (Illinois agility test) and reactive agility (Fitro Agility Check) were selected. For the realization of Fitro Agility Check test, a computer with the necessary hardware and software, and measuring device Fitro Agility Check were used. To evaluate the relationship between the observed variables (Illinois vs FAC), we used Spearman's correlation coefficient rs (-1 ≤ rs ≤ 1) to perform correlation analysis in SSPS statistical software. We used a significance level of 0.01. The results of this study provide evidence of stabilization of performance with the growing age of players at the level of both types of agility and a dynamic increase, especially after the age of 13. Low values of correlation coefficients (from r = - 0.570 to 0.503) indicate indifferent determinants in running and reactive agility. Since low causal-consequential relationship between reactive and running agility was found in the observed football teams, there is a necessity in the sports training to differentiate between specific means for the development of the so-called pre-planned and reactive agility.

Purpose: The fundamental objective of this article is to discern whether business model maturity is perceived through the prism of the ability to deal with unexpected challenges, overcome unprecedented threats, and use emerging business opportunities (agility) or – perhaps – more as a feature of the organization, which makes a business model less vulnerable to unpredictable external changes or sets it in a better position to make it respond effectively to these changes (flexibility). Methodology: The reconnaissance of opinions requires the creation of a catalog of desiderata that significantly identify agility and flexibility. Theoretical and design layers will use a method of reconstruction and interpretation of the subject literature supported by a discussion within a group of deliberately selected experts. This will be reflected in a set of parameters, on the one hand, characteristic of the categories of agility and flexibility and, on the other hand, reflecting business model maturity. Findings: The conducted research allows us to state that mature business models – as implemented by the surveyed companies – are perceived rather through the prism of the strategic ability of enterprises to quickly adapt to unforeseen and sudden changes on the market (agility category). Originality: The article includes not only academic postulates of agility or flexibility but also practical tips that enable constructing guidelines for decision-makers and managers of the agricultural machinery sector. The study carries a charge of a theoretical and empirical study. It takes into account knowledge and expert experience.

Opis:
The primary objective of this study is to conduct a comparative analysis of change of direction (COD) and agility among players engaged in soccer, basketball, and handball. Additionally, the researchers introduced the novel concept of “Agility deficit”, aimed at evaluating distinctions between COD and agility during running (COD-R; Agility-R) and dribbling (COD-D; Agility-D). The participant cohort comprises 38 individuals with an average age of 20.63 years, distributed across 13 handball players, 12 soccer players, and 13 basketball players. Statistical analyses, specifically ANOVA accompanied by Tukey’s post hoc comparisons, have been employed to discern significant differences among subgroups. While no noteworthy disparities among groups were observed in both COD-D and Agility-D when participants manipulated the balls using their hands, a marked superiority in performance emerged for soccer players when the balls were manipulated with their legs. Soccer players exhibited expedited responses compared to their basketball and handball counterparts when confronted with a visual stimulus during the Agility-R test (reduced Agility-R deficit). Furthermore, the Agility-D deficit underscored the heightened visual challenge to react in visual stimuli during dribbling in soccer. Independent of the type of ball handling, soccer players consistently demonstrated a diminished Agility-D deficit, affirming their superior visual ability. The performance in Agility-D further revealed that visual ability plays a pivotal role in influencing dribbling ability. The study posits that, for a comprehensive assessment of a player’s visual ability during running or dribbling, interpretations of both Agility-R deficit and Agility-D deficit are imperative. Consequently, the proposed indexes of Agility-R deficit and Agility-D deficit present valuable tools for evaluating players’ COD and Agility abilities during running or dibbling. However, the efficacy of these assessments in real-game situations remains undetermined, requiring further investigation.

Recently developed the agility and skill tests (AS) were reevaluated to assess the children’s agility together with the soccer shoots to ball for goal. Children (male) soccer players (N=68) (age= 11.6 ± 0.5 yrs; height=147 ± 6.6 cm; weight= 35.5 ± 5.6kg) participated in this study. Test – Retest and comparisons, including 20m Sprint, Long Jump, T- Drill Test, AS (with ball), AS (goal success) and Zigzag Tests were used to assess the children’s sprinting, jump power, and agility with shooting ball. All handled test results showed that there were significant differences between the tests - retest sessions (p < 0.01) except for the 20 m Sprint. There were a near perfect correlations between test and retest values (r=0.90-0.99). A higher level of correlation between the AS tests (goal success, with ball) (r=0.99) was found. There were very high levels of correlations between the AS (goal success and with ball) tests and Zigzag tests (r=0.71, r=0.70 respectively). These results suggest that the AS tests are reliable and valid agility and skill tests for children players. Because the AS tests have unique values and are composed of soccer specific agility and active shooting skills, they are very important in identifying the talent and ability of children.

Opis:
The author of the article, using the analysis of the literature, presents the two perspectives of company’s agility – the strategic and the operational ones, and tries to make the compilation of them in order to obtain the highest effectives of the company’s performance. The article shows that on the strategic level an outwards-oriented attitude is required which involves scanning the environment and assessing the likely impact of the trends in a given industry, as well as the technological possibilities, competitive forces, market changes, and market segment dynamics. Referring to the literature the operational level agility refers to changes which occur within an organization, particularly with regard to the processes of manufacturing and innovation. Adopting an agile strategy involves a new type of activity - a transformation of internal operations. The practice shows that only the implementation of both presented perspectives of agility may lead the company to the outstanding results and ensure competitive advantage in the unstable market. The aim of this article is to identify the determinants for strategic agility and the operational agility of companies as well as attempting to combine the two areas in order to ensure the highest efficiency of enterprises.

The main goal of this research is to identify a relationship between intellectual capital and organizational agility through the mediating of organizational learning. The presented study is an applied and correlational research method based on structural equation modeling. 218 teachers of Zahedan high schools were studied by the stratified random sampling method. To collect information, three questionnaires were used: intellectual capital (adapted from Bontis, 1998), organizational agility (Soleimani, 2013) and organizational learning (Chiva, 2007). For data analysis, the Pearson correlation coefficient and structural equation modeling were used by SPSS and Lisrel. Based on results, the amount of the correlation coefficient of intellectual capital with organizational agility (r=0.566, p<0.01), intellectual capital with organizational learning (r=0.378, p<0.01), organizational learning with organizational agility (r=0.424, p<0.01) was significant. The direct effect of intellectual capital on organizational agility (β=0.56, t=6.56), the direct effect of intellectual capital on organizational learning (β=0.39, t=5.12) and the direct effect of organizational learning on organizational agility (β=0.2, t=2.89) were significant. The indirect effect of intellectual capital on organizational agility was also significant with the mediator role of organizational learning (β=0.078). Therefore, intellectual capital can lead to organizational learning and organizational agility.

Anthropometric indicators and motor abilities are significant components of the successful implementation of the physical potential of young basketball players. The aim of the study was to describe and compare anthropometric characteristics, indicators of physical and special preparedness for basketball players under the age of 12 and up to 14 years, to identify the presence and degree of relationship between these indicators in each group of athletes. Athletes (n = 50) were grouped in groups under 12 years (U12, 10.97 ±0.48 years; n = 24), and under 14 (U14; 12.96 ±0.49 years; n = 26), body height and body weight were measured, dexterity and indicators of special preparedness were tested and compared (“Throws into the basket from different positions”, “Free Throws”, “Ten eights”). U12 players showed lower performance than the U14 group in all tests except the “Free Throws” test. All athletes showed astrong correlation between jumping and dexterity (p < 0.01). The U14 athletes showed astrong (p < 0.01) and moderate (p < 0.05) relationship between the indicators of special preparedness. Assessment of indicators of physical development, physical and special preparedness of athletes, the study of the relationship of these indicators at different periods of ontogenesis will help rationally differentiate training loads, emphasize pedagogical influences and optimize the training process.

Aim/purpose – The main purposes of the paper are to analyze features creating a Wal-Mart’s successful integrated supply chain that contributes its dominant position in the retail market and identify issues existing in Wal-Mart’s supply chain. Then some suggestions will be mentioned for Wal-Mart to establish the Triple-A supply chain. Methodology – This paper is based on literature studies for reviewing Wal-Mart’s integrated supply chain and designing an ideal Triple-A supply chain. Findings – The key findings indicate that it is necessary to build the Triple-A supply chain for not only Wal-Mart but also firms in the 21st century and in order to achieve an ideal supply chain, firms need to redesign its supply chain towards an integrated supply chain with three capabilities (agility, adaptability and alignment) in which aligning incentives can be seen as the most important component. Research implications/limitations – This research confirms that an integrated supply chain will be the first vital pre-requisite for a firm to improve the supply chain performance and achieve an ideal supply chain. However, a main limitation is that findings are only based on the literature. Contribution – It is suggested that in order to build a successful supply chain that enhances both short-run and long-run competitive advantages, firms should follow the idea of designing an ideal Triple-A supply chain with three capabilities including agility, adaptability and alignment, in which aligning incentives among participating partners can be seen as the most important feature.

Opis:
In a world of increasingly advanced technology and market turbulence caused by geopolitical turmoil and the spread of diseases of affluence, there is a growing need to adapt products and services to current market requirements in response to consumer expectations. The need to find its place in a constantly changing further and closer business environment has been also recognized in the agri-food sector. Consumers, looking for alternatives to industrially produced food and wanting to improve their well-being, have in mind, above all, not only the health quality of the food but also the absence of physical and chemical contaminants, and therefore, they are increasingly inclined to purchase organic food products. Under these circumstances, many Polish enterprises that choose this type of production are looking for solutions that allow them to respond quickly to changing consumer expectations. This paper first critically analyzes the scientific literature by compiling publications on aspects of enterprise agility to analyze issues related to quality assurance and its improvement as a manifestation of meeting customer expectations. This allowed for the identification of the research gap and formulation of the research objective, i.e. the assessment of the quality improvement activities as important problems of agility in Polish organic food processing. The main part of the empirical research was conducted in 2021-2022 using a questionnaire dedicated to entities involved in organic food production. The research was comprehensive in nature. The questionnaire was distributed to the entire population surveyed whereas the amount of the results leads to the conclusion that the sample is representative. Statistical analysis and inference were carried out using Kolmogorov-Smirnov, Shapiro-Wilk, ANOVA-Kruskal-Wallis, and U-Mann-Whitney tests.

Agility is a concept and practice with significant importance in managing and leading added value in products, services, projects, and organizations, although it’s usage can also be very risky due to its degree of fuzziness, if not properly understood and defined. This research re-defines agility, emphasizes the need for ontologies for its management and leadership applications and uses a new type of fuzzy logic-based software to measure the degree of agility inside a technology company. In our agility research, various definitions of agility were first gathered and presented for the creation of an agility ontology through a mind map, revealing the main characteristics of agility. Then as part of the Co-Evolute theory and methodology, the first agility ontology was developed as well as the first software application that evaluates the degree of agility in an organization. The application includes statements on which the respondents give opinions in their situation concerning the current and future desired states of agility and its importance in an evaluative way. Today the application has been fully tested in the real world and we have obtained the first test results. The positive verification and validation of the method are shown in this article.
