The dynamics of demographic changes manifested in the processes of an ageing population affect Poland.In response to the situation, gerontechnology is emerging as an interdisciplinary field of scientific research in which technology is directed towards the aspirations and opportunities of the older persons. One of the examples of technologies that will be able to support the ageing population in the future are humanoids, that is, robots resembling a human being and equipped with artificial intelligence. The purpose of this article was to examine relationships between trust in the use of humanoids to care for the older people, the usefulness of technology, the ease of use, perceived threats, general trust and trust in science and technology. A survey method was used to collect data for research. The electronic questionnaire survey was disseminated among members of the Polish society. 643 filled questionnaires were received.

The main aim of the article was to review measures of the population ageing process. In the first part, traditional (conventional) measures of population ageing are presented (i.e. old-age rate, median age, ageing index, dependency ratios, potential support ratio, parent support ratio). These measures are based on chronological age and give a coherent picture of population ageing. However, they do not take into account changes in life expectancy. In other words, they are based on the assumption that a 65-year-old person in 2000 is considered to be just as old as a 65-year-old person in 1900. But the probability of surviving in these two years is different: the remaining life expectancy at age 65 was much higher in 2000 than in 1900. Therefore, the second part of the article presents the new (alternative) measures of population ageing, which are adjusted to life expectancy. In particular, it describes the following measures: proportion of the population in age groups that have a remaining life expectancy of 15 years or less (Prop. RLE15-), prospective median age, population average remaining years of life, and prospective old-age dependency ratio. In the last section, the results of a comparison between conventional and alternative measures are presented. The new measures indicate a slower pace of population ageing in the future than the traditional ones. Thus, the measures recommended for designing governmental programmes aimed at the elderly are the new measures, which take into account life expectancy.

The main aim of the article is to analyze the demographic situation of the Czech Republic and to present the prospects for Czech demography in the coming years. The text is divided into sections related to the most important components of the demographic situation - population size and factors that influenced it in the past (e.g. the baby boom phenomenon), live births, the structure of the aging society in the Czech Republic (there are more people aged 65+ than in the age group 0-14), deaths (caused largely by cancer and cardiovascular diseases). An important part of the analysis is the problem of external migration. The article was prepared on the basis of data from the Statistical Yearbook (Statisticka Rocenka Česke Republiký), published by Český Statistický Úřad (CSU). The text ends with conclusions and recommendations on demography. The author believes that the demographic problems of the Czech Republic are part of the overall demographic problems of the European Union, such as the low fertility rate (TFR), which is still far from the simple replacement of the generations. The result is an ageing European population, which will have a negative impact on the economy, social systems and external policies.

The motivation of this paper is to check whether inflation is linked to the population age structure. To check this hypothesis, a panel data model is used. We regress the changes in CPI on a set of macroeconomic variables. The results of the estimations suggest that there may be a relation between demography and low-frequency inflation. A larger old-age dependency ratio is correlated with lower inflation. This may confirm some of the previous empirical findings that ageing is deflationary when related to increased life expectancy.

W społeczeństwie sieci: w kierunku wirtualnie zapośredniczonych społeczności? Współczesne transformacje społeczne są bardzo silnie powiązane z gwałtownym rozwojem technologicznym, który nie pozostaje bez wpływu na dominację reguł technologicznych w życiu społecznym. Transformacje więzi społecznych, powstawanie nowych form kontaktów, wzorów społecznych zapośredniczonych wirtualnie są zjawiskami powszechnymi w społeczeństwie sieci. Kompetencje techniczne zaczynają odgrywać coraz większą rolę w utechnicznionym środowisku społecznym człowieka. Teoretyczne poszukiwania cyfrowych wykluczonych z głównego nurtu rynkowego zakorzenionego w sieciowej kulturze komunikacji sprowadzają się bardzo często do stawiania pytań o znaczenie wieku, jako ważnej determinanty określającej pozycję i wartość rynkową współczesnego człowieka. Dominacja reguł technologicznych i obecność społecznie wytworzonej natury (Anthony Giddens) nie pozostaje bez wpływu na rosnące oczekiwania względem uczestników społeczeństwa sieci co do ich zdolności dostosowywania się do cyfrowych standardów społecznych i stopnia partycypacji w nowej przestrzeni komunikacji.
Modern social transformations are very strongly related to rapid technological advance which has an impact on the dominance of technological rules in social life. Transformations of social bonds, creation of new forms of contacts, or Internet mediated social patterns are common phenomena in the network society. Technological competences are playing an increasingly prominent role in man’s technologized social environment. Theoretical search for the digitally excluded from the market mainstream rooted in the Internet communication culture often focuses on raising questions about age as an important determinant which defines the position and market value of modern man. The dominance of technological rules and the presence of a socially produced nature (Anthony Giddens) impact the growing expectations towards the participants of the network society concerning their ability to adjust to the digital social standards and the degree of participation in the new communication space.

From the 1990s. we note the considerable decrease in the fertility rate in Poland and the rise in the proportion of persons aged 60 years and more in population. The article is to demonstrate the dynamics of changes of both processes and to correlation between the two processes. For the description of the changes in the value of the fertility rate and the share of persons aged over 60 years we use a linear function of the trend, and to describe the relationship of both processes multiple linear regression.

The paper discusses the problem of the socio-demographic changes in the modern world. They consist mailnly decreasing birth rate and increasing number of people in retirement age. These changes have a negative impact on the pension system. The main problem discussed in this paper concerns the impact of these negative trends on the pension system in Poland in the context of the decrease of the retirement age from 67 years for all citizens to 60 years for women and 65 years for men, which is planned to enter into force on 1 October, 2017.
W artykule podjęto problem zmian społeczno-demograficznych we współczesnym świecie. Polegają one m.in. na obniżeniu wskaźnika dzietności i wzroście liczby osób w wieku poprodukcyjnym. Te zmiany wpływają negatywnie na system emerytalny. Główny problem podjęty w artykule dotyczy wpływu tychnegatywnych tendencji na system emerytalny w Polsce w kontekście obniżenia od 1 października 2017 r. wieku emerytalnego z 67 lat do 60 lat dla kobiet i 65 lat dla mężczyzn.

The progressive ageing process concerns both Poland and other Member States of the European Union. In recent years, the share of workers of non-mobile and post-productive age in the total population has been rising, and according to forecasts, in 2035 people aged 45 years and over will represent two-thirds of our society. Since the year 2012, announced the Year of Active Ageing and Solidarity between Generations by the European Commission, more and more attention has been paid in the Polish public space to the issues of an ageing society, including its impact on the health of the economy. The article notes that the ageing process does not occur uniformly across all Polish regions, i.e. at the same pace and with the same intensity. The results of studies indicating the regions being most vulnerable to the ageing of the regional community and the negative consequences of this process in the next two decades are presented.

Opis:
The second transition manifesting in the preference of informal relationships, decreased death rate, longer life, increased migration, strive for maximum use of education, income, and increased life standard and quality contribute to the decreased birth rate (below the level ensuring linear replacement of generations) lids to ageing of population. It is a process in which changes occur in population age structure and an increase in the number and proportion of older people (especially people aged over 65) in the general population, as well as a decrease in the number of young people This process leads to outcomes which, apart from demographic implications, are of socioeconomic significance and influence changes in the structure of consumption, income and savings distribution, decrease in labour productivity, changes in household structure, healthcare and social care for the elderly. This is why questions resulting from ageing of the population must be an element of adequate social policy. The aim of the paper is an evaluation of Poland’s population ageing by regions, in 1995-2035 years.
