The purposes of the present study were to explore the relationship between body awareness and negative body attitude, interoceptive body awareness and physical self in women practicing fitness as well as to analyze the determinants of body awareness. The Body Awareness Questionnaire, the Multidimensional Assessment of Interoceptive Awareness, the Physical Self-Description Questionnaire and the Body Attitude Test were applied to 43 women practicing fitness and 32 non-fitness practitioners. Bodily self-awareness was connected with greater fitness practitioners’ interoceptive body awareness and greater physical self. Noticing and global esteem predicted body awareness in women practicing fitness.

A global market necessitates including the evolution of consumer awareness  and the growing importance of consumers in marketing activities. This process  including utilizing existing instruments of marketing communication along with  a new look at consumer motivations (and at information about products). Among  the major changes in consumer attitudes and behavior worldwide are the following  phenomena: more negative attitudes toward advertising, increasing consumer  attention to ethical aspects of business, greater environmental awareness, and  growing consumer product expectations. Th e study shows a close relationship  between social and technological changes. New information technology provides  new opportunities for contact with consumers and between consumers.  It is expected that the current traditional model of communication with the  market, based on information derived from opinion leaders (from athletes, experts,  celebrities), in the interactive communication model will be lead to horizontal  influence derived from individual consumers. Consumers become not only active  seekers of market information, but also creators and relayers of this information  rather than defenseless recipients. Furthermore the responsible consumer is a person  who not only knows his or her rights, but also supports a particular producer  through purchases. Access to information about companies (and their products)  through new media (mobile, internet) allows the consumer to control activities  of commercial organizations (particularly multinational corporations) without  geographic limitations.  Not so long ago, the most important goal was to provide products conveniently  to consumers at an attractive price. Now it seems that brand imaging is increasingly  created by consumers themselves, who in turn create brand history among  themselves. New patterns of consumer behavior give rise to new marketing (and  communication) strategies. Of course, many consumers do passively participate  in the process of marketing communication. However, we must assume that this  new generation of responsible consumers determines a clear direction of changes  in business -consumer relationships.

Tematyka duchowości człowieka jako istotnego wymiaru jego życia wkracza w obszar rozważań pedagogiki, w tym także do pedagogiki przedszkolnej.Trudności w aplikacji tego pojęcia w tej subdyscyplinie pedagogiki mogą być spowodowane myśleniem o dziecku jako o „niepełnym” człowieku, który dopiero w późniejszym okresie życia rozwija dojrzałe obszary własnego bytowania, jak choćby duchowość. Tymczasem analiza funkcjonowania dziecka w okresie przedszkolnym dowodzi, iż funkcjonuje ono w pełni w duchowym zakresie własnej egzystencji, ale też często – ze względu na szczególne właściwości tego okresu rozwojowego – przekracza w tym zakresie możliwości osób dorosłych. Prezentowany tekst ma na celu wskazanie w jaki sposób i w jakim stopniudziecko w wieku przedszkolnym osiąga umiejętność samoświadomości jako istotnego obszaru jego duchowego rozwoju.
The issue of human spirituality as an essential dimension of his life appears in the field of pedagogy, including preschool education. Difficulties in the application of this concept in this sub-discipline of pedagogy may be caused by thinking of a child as an “incomplete” human being. In this perspective, thechild develops his own spirituality only later in life. Meanwhile, the analysis of the child’s functioning in the preschool period proves that it has its own specific spirituality. Often - due to the special characteristics of this developmental period - a child is more mature in this respect than adults. The presented text aims to indicate how and to what extent a preschool child achieves the ability of self-awareness as an important area of his spiritual development.

Samoświadomość w teorii Z. Zaborowskiego (CF) nie stanowi jednolitej struktury, ale jest układem dynamicznych procesów, i można w niej wyodrębnić określone treści (wewnętrzne i zewnętrzne), które uporządkowane są za pomocą różnych form samoświadomości: indywidualnej, zewnętrznej, refleksyjnej i obronnej. Prezentowane w artykule badania pokazują związek, jaki zachodzi między samoświadomością (forma refleksyjna, indywidualna i zewnętrzna) a atrybucją.
The self-awareness theory (CF) developed by Zaborowski makes a distinction between self-awareness content and its processing forms or modes. The content is divided into external and internal one, and can be processed in any of four self-awareness forms: individual, defensive, outer and reflective. Self-awareness operates in a dynamical way, and is functional with respect to personality and external conditions. The forms of self-awareness organize, order and integrate the self--awareness content and in doing so they influence behavior. This paper shows the relationships between the CF theory (reflective, individual, external form) and attribution.

The corpus-based approach in language education has driven an array of studies over the past few decades, including its application in developing academic awareness in second-language learners of English for academic purposes. Most publications that show ways of incorporating corpus-based classroom activities (C-BCA) concern concordance lines and lexico-grammatical studies with reference to teacher feedback. The present study examines postgraduates’ perception of C-BCA in English for academic purposes classes. A class of 10 postgraduate students from Samara University, Russia, participated in the research. Questionnaire results showed a positive perception of using C-BCA as a tool for writing assignments. The study also concerns an analysis of the students’ results in the writing assignments as a part of their academic awareness. Specifically, this sample study shows interdependence between the positive dynamics of postgraduates’ perceptions of C-BCA and good results of a writing examination.

Artykuł prezentuje założenia koncepcji budowania świadomości bezpieczeństwa i higieny pracy wśród pracowników zatrudnionych w przedsiębiorstwie hutniczym. Układ artykułu jest trzyczęściowy. Pierwsza część prezentuje ogólne zagadnienia dotyczące kwestii tworzenia nowej świadomości bezpiecznej pracy, druga – kontrowersje dotyczące terminologii „zarządzania świadomością” oraz istotę przedmiotowej koncepcji. W trzeciej scharakteryzowano założenia programowe budowania świadomości bezpieczeństwa pracy w ArcelorMittal Poland S.A. oraz przedstawiono wyniki przeprowadzonych w tym przedsiębiorstwie badań, weryfikując przy tym postawioną hipotezę badawczą.
This paper presents the assumptions behind the concept of building an occupational health and safety awareness among workers employed in a metallurgical company. The article is made up of three parts. The first section presents general questions relating to matters of creating a new work safety concept. The second looks at controversies surrounding the phrase awareness management as well as the essence of the concept itself. The third part characterizes program assumptions for building a work safety awareness at ArcelorMittal Poland S.A. and presents the results of research conducted at the company verifying the research hypothesis.

The central argument voiced in the present paper is that the English language classroom should be influenced by the English as a lingua franca (ELF) methodology. What we mean under the notion of ELF methodology is a set of assumptions and tenets advanced by a number of scholars (e.g., Jenkins, 2002; Seidlhofer, 2011), who advocate rejecting the hegemony of a native-speaker language model and embracing a more egalitarian perspective that promotes the linguistic and cultural diversity of the English-using world. The ELF methodology is one of the recent developments in ELT. An abundant literature (e.g., Spichtinger, 2001; McKenzie, 2008) recommends that learners of English are exposed to as many different varieties of English as possible. A further recommendation (e.g., Matsuda, 2012) is that the cultural content presented to pupils in the ELT classroom should be drawn from multiple sources. The present paper aims to contribute to the debate concerning the implications that the ELF methodology carries for coursebooks and teaching materials. The study explores pre-service teachers’ views on the following questions: (1) How many and which varieties of English should appear in the CD recordings that accompany coursebooks? (2) Cultures of which countries should constitute the content of teaching materials? The data obtained from 170 pre-service teachers majoring in English indicate that most of them are far more willing to embrace the cultural rather than linguistic diversity in their own teaching practice.

Background: Along with an increasing number of cancer patients, the need for cytostatic drugs is also increasing. Nursing staff are the largest professional group exposed to the potential dangers of these substances. Aim of the study: Assess the awareness of nursing staff who have direct contact with cytostatic drugs in the use of personal protective equipment (PPE). Material and methods: The research group consisted of 101 nurses routinely exposed to cytostatic drugs. A diagnostic survey and questionnaire technique were used along with the author’s original questionnaire. Results: Of the respondents, 58.42% (n=59) never used protective shoes while dealing with cytostatics, while 53.4% (n=54) never used long-sleeved, waterproof uniforms; 49.50% (n=50) did not apply half masks, and 34.65% (n=35) failed to protect their eyes with protective glasses. The most common cause of not using the protective equipment was identified as lack of time (72; 71.29%). Deficiency of training on protective measures while working with hazardous cytostatics was cited by 37.62% (n=38) as the reason for their behavior, while almost 22% of them claimed that their employer did not provide them with a sufficient amount of protective equipment for individual use. The older, more experienced and higher-educated the staff, the higher awareness among them about the need for using PPE. Conclusions: Higher-educated and more experienced nursing staff should constitute the source of ‘good practices’ and educate younger undergraduate colleagues theoretically and practically. Employers and management staff should provide employees with more training on the correct application of protective measures and increase the intensity of control of the use of personal protective equipment.

Study aim: Wrestling involves a high risk of transmission in terms of Covid-19 as it is performed using close one-to-one physical contact. This field research study examined wrestlers' approach to and awareness levels of the pandemic. Method: The study sample consists of 214 male wrestlers aged 19.15 ± 1.78 years who participated in the U-23 Turkish National Freestyle Wrestling Championship. The data was collected using a personal information form and the Pandemic Awareness Scale. The statistical analysis consisted of an independent sample t-test, descriptive statistics, and a One-Way ANOVA test for multi-group comparison. Results: Non-smokers and the wrestlers who complied with the precautions had statistically higher awareness score averages (p < 0.05). A statistically significant relationship between awareness scores and variables, including education level, being a national athlete, being diagnosed with Covid-19, losing a first-degree relative to Covid-19, having been vaccinated, and the number of vaccine doses (p > 0.05) was not found. Conclusion: The study findings indicate that the level of awareness of the pandemic is high among non-smokers and wrestlers who complied with the necessary precautions.

Our report presents the Eľkonin´s training of phonematic awareness. This programme is suitable for 5-6 years old children or children whose compulsory school attendance is postponed. We are shortly presenting the results of our study that was done in 20 children. The aim of the study was to quantify and to compare the level of phonological abilities in the studied group of children before and after the training. We would like to show that it is a very suitable stimulating programme that is possible to apply in pre-school children with the impaired communication ability and the postponement of school attendance which can be the risk factors in the process of learning and reading. This training can be applied by special educationists, speech therapists and elementary school teachers after passing the course.

This study examines the potential effect of morphological awareness on Jordanian EFL tenth-grade students' reading comprehension. Two intact sections of 73 Jordanian tenth-grade students were purposefully selected from a secondary school in Ramtha Directorate of Education (Ramtha, Jordan) during the first semester of the academic year 2017/2018. The experimental group (n=37) was taught using a morphological awareness-based protocol whereas the control group (n= 36) was taught conventionally per the guidelines of the Ministry-prescribed Teacher Book of Action Pack 10. For data collection, a reading comprehension pre/post- test was used. The findings reveal a statistically significant improvement in the experimental group students’ reading comprehension which may be attributed to morphological awareness-based instruction.

The purpose of the paper is an analysis of the advantages and limitations of the use of translanguaging, or the mobilisation of students’ whole multilingual repertoires to facilitate understanding and learning (Lewis, Jones, Baker, 2012, p. 655), in the teaching of third or additional languages (De Angelis’s (2007) term) at the university level. The paper is based on two studies by the [name deleted to maintain the integrity of the review process], on the use of translanguaging in the teaching of Spanish [name deleted to maintain the integrity of the review process] and French [name deleted to maintain the integrity of the review process]. It analyses the use of translanguaging for the purposes of explanation and awareness-raising, taking into consideration the increased language learning experience and awareness of multilingual students (cf. Hufeisen, 2018), and its perception by the students. However, despite its advantages, it also has limitations related to students’ lack of experience with translanguaging and unwillingness to use their multilingual repertoires in learning particular languages.
