Opis:
Many radioactive elements have existed when the Earth had appeared and the long living of them are still present. One of the most important of these radioactive elements is $\text{}^{40}K$. It makes about 0.012% of total content of K, widely represented in many different rocks. In this study the distribution of the natural $\text{}^{40}K$ radioelement in the volcanics of the south part of Afyon was investigated. Gamma-ray spectrometer was used for in-situ measurements of this radioelement concentration. Studied area has covered approximately 1800 km². In-situ measurements were performed at 1390 different locations in this field. Data for each measurement was gathered during 3 min. The map of the ^{40}K element distribution in the studied area was produced. The high values of $\text{}^{40}K$, according to this map, were obtained in the areas of the alteration zones, between Sandıklı and Şuhut in the studied area.

Opis:
This research examines the numerical solutions to the direct problem of electrical impedance tomography for two-dimensional and three-dimensional media, taking into count the surface relief on the basis of the integral equations method. The results of the numerical modeling identify a distortion effect for vertical electrical sounding curves caused by relief surface and the apparent resistivity function along the relief surface is obtained.

The possibility has been investigated of determining, using graydar (Gamma RAY Detection And Ranging) approach, the in-depth partial-density profile of some substance absorbed in a dense medium. Analytical algorithms have been derived for retrieving the in-depth profile of the partial density of the absorbed substance on the basis of the conjecturally known in-depth profile of the extinction of the absorbing medium and the experimentally determinable graydar profile. The retrieval error under the Poisson noise conditions has also been estimated analytically. The simulations performed of the Poisson-noise effect concern the case of soil moisture. The results obtained confirm the validity of the derived retrieval algorithms and error estimates and show that the soil moisture profile may be accurately determined to depths of 50 cm, depending on the dry-soil bulk density, the sensing photon flux, and the measurement time.
