Opis:
In this study, an optimization analysis of the hydraulic gear pump cover with design of experiments and response surface method has been conducted. The sample of the solid cover of a hydraulic pump has been parametrically modelled. Structural strength analysis of the modelled hydraulic pump cover has been realized using finite element method. To prevent the concentration of stress on the hydraulic pump cover and to keep the stress values on the safe side, design inputs were not exceeded. According to the analysis results of this optimization study; the wall thickness of the hydraulic pump cover has been reduced. Finally, experimental tests were performed on hydraulic pump test setup, for verification of the simulation results.

Opis:
Intensity Modulated Radiation Therapy (IMRT) provides the ability to not only conform the radiation dose to the shape of the target thereby reducing dose to normal tissues, it also allows to deliver different doses each day to different parts of the target. This approach is known as a simultaneous integrated boost (SIB). This study aims that dosimetric parameters of SIB with IMRT treatment planning technique are compared with conventional treatment planning technique using NTCP for 2 head and neck cancer patients.

Opis:
Today, with the increasing use of various forms of radiation, all biological organisms are put at risk. Radiation science for medicine, agriculture, industry and military purposes has grown wide. To be protected from the harmful effects of radiation, attention should be paid to the time, distance and shielding rules. Shielding process varies according to the types of materials to be used. Turkey has the most abundant reserves of barite, which is a kind of heavy aggregate. Barite is experimentally used as a heavy concrete aggregate for radiation shielding purposes. In the present study, at first the shield thickness of the designed radiotherapy centre is computed according to the normal and heavyweight concretes. Then, the effect of type of material on the design of the radiotherapy centre is examined carrying out static and structural analyses.
