Opis:
The mechanical functions of the fibre/matrix interlayer as well as its quantitative parameter dependencies and their influence on the properties of the composite system are discussed, with the theoretical model being considered under realistic conditions. Corresponding to that a number of interface structure phenomena of some advanced composite materials, revealed by high voltage and high resolution electron microscopy, are discussed with respect to their relevance to the control of composite properties, including complex interlayer systems, which are produced by fibre coating as well as by chemical solid state transport and exchange reactions. The effects of hooking-together, binding, internal microcracking, and sublayer formation are demonstrated, and in some cases correlated with the mechanical behaviour of the materials as revealed by in situ tensile tests.

Opis:
Sintered AlN ceramics were implanted by Ti, Fe and Cu ions up to 1.9 × 10$\text{}^{17}$ atoms/cm$\text{}^{2}$ at mean energies of 70-110 keV in order to investigate the role of the chemical properties of the implanted species. on the phase formed during the implantation process. X-ray absorption studies were performed at room and at liquid nitrogen temperature to give information on the resulting systems and local environments of the Ti, Fe and Cu atoms. We observe the formation of TiN even for as-implanted samples, while the Cu ions aggregate to clusters. The Fe implanted samples show an intermediate behavior with both nitride formation and Fe clustering. In conclusion, the heat of formation is found to be a key parameter for the final system.

Opis:
In alloy materials, the onset of crystallization temperature $(T_{x})$ is treated as the threshold of structural stability. In amorphous materials, this threshold is the temperature above which heterogeneous crystalline grains begin to appear. However, in amorphous materials, frozen nuclei of the crystalline grains also come into existence during the production process. These nuclei have a strong influence on the properties of the amorphous materials. The growth of the nuclei of the crystalline grains is possible even below the crystallization temperature, and maintaining control over their size allows the application properties, for example the magnetic properties, to be controlled. In this paper, the influence of two-stage isothermal annealing (below the crystallization temperature) on the structure and magnetic properties of $Fe_{61}Co_{10}Y_{8}W_{1}B_{20}$ alloy was investigated. Samples of the material were prepared in the form of plates, and subjected to thermal treatment at temperatures of 700 K and 770 K, for 1 and 3.5 hours, respectively.

Opis:
In the present study, Fe$\text{}_{41}$Co$\text{}_{41}$B$\text{}_{10}$Zr$\text{}_{7}$Cu$\text{}_{1}$ alloy has been investigated in order to evaluate its thermal stability and structure after heat treatment, as well as the impact of heat treatment on magnetic properties. X-ray diffractometry, differential scanning calorimetry, chemical composition microanalysis, transmission electron microscopy, and magnetic hysteresis loop measurement techniques were employed. The crystallisation temperature of the as-quenched alloy is 490ºC (continuous heating at 5ºC/min). The melt-spun ribbon having 27μm in thickness was annealed for 1 hour at temperatures from 400 to 700ºC. The alloy after treatment at about 550ºC underwent primary crystallisation, with the average size of crystals under 20 nm. This specimen shows the coercive field of 38 A/m, as compared to about 160 A/m reported for a similar alloy (Fe$\text{}_{44}$Co$\text{}_{44}$B$\text{}_{4}$Zr$\text{}_{7}$Cu$\text{}_{1}$) with a similar structure, annealed at 600ºC.
